I want to share a great opportunity for you to make an impact on the country of Peru and the ministry in Arequipa. We will be hosting a medical mission trip in Arequipa during the month of September with Medical Mission Outreach. We have partnered with Bradley Edmondson and their team for many years now and God has always blessed their trips tremendously in so many ways. We have seen many people come to Christ on the mission field and God has also used these trips in the lives of the medical team. If you or anyone you know would like to be involved in this trip please email me and I will do my best to get you set up on this trip. If you are not able to go on this trip, please pray that God would use it for his glory and honor.

Here are the details for the trip:

Price: $1650. This includes everything, all the way from plane tickets, lodging, food and transportation.

Dates: September 14th-22nd

People Needed: Anyone who wants to be involved. We obviously need nurses and doctors, but we also need people that can help with crowd control, moving people, etc.

Goals: Assist local churches in evangelism and outreach

Thank you so much for following along with what God is doing in Peru. We would love for you to be involved in this trip, whether it be through going or through prayer.

Dear Pastors and Praying Friends,

We are really excited about the new school year that has started at the Peru Bible College! This semester we had 45 students enroll. It is exciting to think that these men and women are training to go out and plant other Bible preaching churches around Peru and the uttermost.

I want to share with you some important dates that we have coming up in the near future. Please pray with us that God will bless and provide for all of these dates:

July 26 through August 6
Pastor Johnny Nix of Way of the Cross Baptist Church will be traveling to Peru with us during these dates to preach our annual youth conference. This is one of our biggest events of the year. We have young people come from all over South America. Be praying for Pastor Nix as he preaches through the book of Jonah during the conference.

September 13th
This is Katie’s due date for our second daughter! We are excited that God has trusted us with the life of another child. We are so excited about this. Please pray for everything to go smoothly.

September 14th-22nd
Medical Mission Outreach will be bringing a medical group down on these dates to help us in our outreach and evangelism. They have always been a great help to our ministry and always want to be tied into a local church. We have seen many families be saved and become faithful church members through this wonderful ministry. If you would like to be part of this trip, please contact me at gardnerinperu@gmail.com

The Big One: January 22nd
The whole family will be heading back to Peru on this date. We are excited that Katie’s health has finally improved, thanks to medical treatment and God’s grace. She has been feeling like a different person and it is great to see her like this.
One of the main reasons we came back was to get her healthy and better medical treatment here in the States.
We will continue traveling and raising support while we wait for the birth of our daughter and until we leave in January. Please pray that we will continue acquiring new supporters for the ministry in Peru.

We have not bought our tickets yet, but plan on doing so very soon. Please let us know if you would like to help us with this.

Thank you so much for your prayers,

Although we live in the driest desert in the world, we do have a rainy season. The following is a prayer request from Pastor Pablo Villegas. He is a great man that loves God and loves his church. I translated the letter and I am sharing the pictures so you could pray with us. Thank you for all you do to stay in touch with us:

I thank God for his grace and to be able to count on brothers and sisters like you to pray with us.

I ask you to pray for my church “La Victoria” (Victory); during the rainy season in February we had some difficulties on our church property where we suffered numerous damages. Our Auditorium, Nursery, Children’s Sunday School Class and Lady’s Sunday school class were flooded, the floor is now humid and filled with mud and dirt and the walls were collecting water. We were digging footings for our new building and they have also filled with water and mud. We have had to meet in the homes of four families that are members of the church and on Sundays we are meeting in the local Community Center. Thank God that all that has happened has united the church even more. Many of the church members have taken this with a wonderful attitude. We had our Thursday midweek service in 4 different homes.
We have had two big events planned for the past two sundays and thank God we have all been united and we hardly even felt all of these problems. Now we are working on repairing the church. We had a work day and the people stayed till very late fixing the walls, cleaning the mud up and removing the water. We need to do a few more improvements so that our church is functional once again. I ask you to pray for the needs that we have:

Paint

Tarp

Electrical Cables

Plywood

Concrete

Sticks

Hand Labor

This next week we have a Youth Conference in our church, it will be March 1-4 and we want to host it at our church building. Please pray that we can continue serving our God regardless of the difficulties we may face. The work of God must continue.

Thank you for all of your help.

God Bless,

Here is our prayer letter for the month of January. Thank you all for following along!

Dear Pastors and Praying friends,

The past couple of months have been hectic with traveling to different churches, going to family christmas parties and events that our home church puts on.

We had some wonderful meetings in the state of Ohio and got to present the ministry at new churches while also giving us a chance to report to some churches that already support us. We are thankful for each church that has given us the opportunity to present what God is doing in Peru and the need we have for more support to put into the ministry. God is continuing to add new supporters to our list and we are very thankful for that. Please continue to pray for us to raise more monthly support for the ministry.

After celebrating Christmas with all of our families we were able to participate in one of the most special events our home church puts on. It is the “Our Generation Summit.” It has been a yearly event for the past 7 years. It is a retreat in Pigeon Forge, TN and God has used this conferenc in many people’s lives to show them their role in world evangelism and equip them for the next step they should take. I was able to preach and lead the singing during the event while Katie had the opportunity to teach a class to the young ladies.

There was also an exciting yearly event in Peru last month and that was the Bible College graduation. We have been able to see people trained in our Bible college since 1988. There have been many men and women who are being greatly used of God in the ministry all around the world from the Bible college. This year we had 6 young men who graduated. It was exciting to see a second generation Bible college student graduate for the first time. Brother Juan Pacheco is the pastor of the first church my brother worked in, and last month, his son graduated and will be in full time ministry. It is amazing to see how God changes whole families and generations.

Thank you for praying for Katie’s health, she is finally at a place where she is healthier than she has ever been in her adult life.

Thank you for your prayers and support,

I wanted to thank each of you who prayed for the last weekend of our walkthrough drama: “Revelación”. God tremendously blessed the whole event and I’m sure many lives were changed through this evangelistic campaign.

Through the past three weekends we have had volunteers from many of the churches in Arequipa work for this event. We have had over 150 volunteers who worked with acting, makeup, costumes, ticketing, etc. There have been 2360 people walk through “Revelación” and received a clear presentation of the gospel and 499 of them made a profession of faith.

Quick Testimonial:
I was speaking to a young man, Diego, from our church that took a group of people to this event and he mentioned that his college professor accepted Christ as his personal Savior! Diego will be speaking to him some time this week to invite him to church and start getting him involved in our church family and in discipleship

A BIG THANK YOU to all of you who took the time to pray for God to work this past weekend. You have fruit that is abounding to your account from this event.

Here are a few pictures from the event:

God gave us the great opportunity to partner with Faith Baptist Church in Lagrange, GA last year to start a walkthrough drama called “REVELACION”. It is a drama focused on the end times. As you walk through each scene you get to be a part of everything from the rapture to the great white throne. It truly is an amazing experience.

This year Jeremy Hall has headed everything up with our team of men and women from our churches. They’ve been having showings for the past 2 weekend and this is the last one. We want to finish with a bang. So far, we have seen 1255 people walk through “REVELACION” with 205 of them making a profession of faith. We are so thankful for what God has done, but HE’S NOT DONE YET!

I would like to ask you to take some time on Friday and on Saturday to pray for the following things this weekend:

That the team of actors, techs, guides, guards and counselors would work well together and have strength for the hours of ministry they will be doing.

That many people would come to the drama and we would have a larger number than any of the other two weekends.

GREATEST PRAYER REQUEST OF ALL: That people would accept Christ as their personal Savior and be made new in Him.

Thank you so much for your prayers! I know God will use this and I will give you an update as soon as I know something.

I really don’t know what to say. I could say I am humbled, thankful, overwhelmed, undeserving or blessed and they would all describe the way I feel about the past couple of months of travelling to different churches.

Although standing in a church’s pulpit is a tremendous privilege, I feel like we are more privileged and blessed by the people that we have been able to meet and stay with in the past 2 months. I know if I wrote everyone’s name that we stayed with and the impact they had on our lives this post would be too long to read.

The time spent in fellowship and receiving counsel from each of you has been a gift we could never repay each of you and the gifts given are far above and beyond anything we could ever deserve.

All I can say to everyone is THANK YOU! We are blessed to serve God in missions and to have many of you praying for us and supporting us.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Dear Pastors and Praying Friends,

We are so thankful for all of the churches we have been able to visit in the month of October. Our whole family took a four week trip out west to visit churches in Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas and the stopped by Tennessee on our way back. It was a long trip on the road but very beneficial.

It is always surprising to see how God provides for our needs. While we were in San Antonio Texas for two missions conferences, I left our van unlocked through the night. The next morning I found out that wasn’t a very good idea. It seems some young people stopped by to take a look at our van and took our GPS and a couple of other things. A GPS for a missionary is one of his most important tools, so we quickly needed to buy a new one. God is always good to us and provides above and beyond what we could ask or think. He has taken care of us and we are thankful that we have a new GPS for our travels.

I would like to thank each of you who have been praying for Katie’s health. It has been a long process, but it seems that my wife is doing wonderful now and the medicine for her thyroid is working well. She is in the best shape she has been in since we have been married and she feels very energetic and ready to go (most of the time) wherever we need to go. Even though it has been a long process, we thank God he has taken care of Katie through this whole process.

Please pray for us as we continue to travel to raise more support for the ministry. If you would like to have us in your church please contact me via email: gardnerinperu@gmail.com or by phone: 770-597-4750

I would like to ask you to take a little bit of time out of your day to pray for the region of Ica in Peru. Last Friday they Ica suffered a 6.7 earthquake. Thankfully the damages were not very bad, but there was still one death and over 1,700 people without a home. There will be a lot of reconstruction and clean up work to go on in the next few weeks.

They have had over 300 replicas since Friday, 17 of which have been between 4 and 6 points on the Richter scale. Please pray that the people will be sensitive to the Gospel and that there will be no more lost lives because of these replicas.

Thank you so much for staying updated on the people and the ministry in Peru.

I am so excited that Oakland Heights Baptist Church in Cartersville, GA has decided to partner with us in the ministry. We have had a growing relationship with the church and their pastor Joe McKaig throughout the past year and I am thankful that God has allowed us to not only find new support, but also new friends.

God opened the door for me to be able to preach for Okland Heights’ youth during the summer and God worked greatly through that, I believe 4 or 5 people accepted Christ during that time, and I am very thankful for what He did there. I still stay in touch with many of their young people and the youth leadership, they have truly become friends to us.

Pastor Joe came down to Peru to preach for our anual Youth Conference in July, so I had the opportunity to spend a lot of time with him behind the pulpit translating and also fellowshipping with him.

Now you got to know a little about our newest supporters. Be praying that God will continue to raise more support for the ministry in Peru. There is so much to be done, and I know God has people out there that will be a part of it.
