In a private Facebook group, I noticed a lot of people were looking for a tech person to work with. So, I introduced myself. Upon returning to check on the status, I saw a post at the very top of the wall from a guy who also introduced himself as a coder. Now, I'm not that naive to think I am the only geek in a group. There are probably many people better at tech than me in any group. What gave me pause was, why this guy's introduction got so many responses when mine hardly went noticed. A horrifying thought flashed through my mind. It couldn't be true. Did he get more attention because he's… a man? Maybe you have experienced something similar. Something that made you stop to wonder if you didn't win the bid, secure that client or get that exposure because you are a woman. Then, you look around and it looks like all the top dogs are men. Of course it depends on the industry you are in but I'm here to tell you, even in seemingly male-centric arenas, there are plenty of women quietly making serious coin. Sometimes, we aren't seeing the ladies because women simply aren't vocal about their successes. And, when we toot our own horn, we often express it in an entirely different manner. For us, being able to support our families and being there when the kids get off the bus mean a whole lot more than 'crushing it' or making a million dollars in 24 hours. I'm not saying women don't strive for that. I'd love to make that kind of money any day. It's just, our goals are often more immediate and realistic. That is why it's always refreshing to hear stories about real women and how they broke through the barriers. I never had a chance to see personally a hanging bridge ever since. Although I have read in books and magazines and even heard from many people about it, their unforgettable experiences as first timers. I perceived hanging bridges to be dangerous to human due to the materials being used. I mean, comparing it to modern bridges which are strongly built and used solid materials that will last longer. As the years passed, I understand there are places that builds hanging bridges purposely for tourist or as a main attraction in the area to promote tourism.

Recently, after a busy Saturday morning hubby and I went to a place called D'Leonor Adventure Park and Mountain Resort located at Cabantian, Buhangin, Davao City. It took us more than an hour before we reached the place, certainly because the area was unfamiliar to us. We've never been there. We took the initiative of asking the neighborhood and passersby until we reach our destination.

Mainly our purpose in going there is to familiarize the place, learn about the fees, and to have an idea what to expect inside. I never thought that there was a hanging bridge inside. I excitedly posed for a souvenir picture on the above hanging bridge thrice, but, I don't really have the nerve to cross. I tried but after a few steps I remained standing. I could not understand the feeling it was mixed emotion. I hold both sides of it while trying to step forward slowly and when the bridge started to swing a bit, wow! I panicked... And then when I looked at below I realized I was afraid. Anyway, I am planning to get back there any time soon together with our three gentlemen. I hope they can convince me to cross and take away my fear.

There are many attractions inside the resort which you can enjoy such as: Zipline, wavepool, the so called 600 steps (which I missed), mini zoo, fishing pond, wall climbing, etc. There is also a basketball court and a tennis court if you want to sweat.

Imagine a home or an office without a chair I am pretty sure no one ever likes it. Joining Fun Run events became one of my interests these days. So far I have joined four (4) supposed to be 6 all in all. But, due to some unavoidable circumstances there were two (2) scheduled Fun Run activities which I was not able to attend. Yes, Davao City became the running capital of the Philippines (correct me if I am wrong) today. Fun Run activities are scheduled mostly during weekends and I find it interesting though. Why? because I am not only running to be physically fit but I am running for a good cause as well. I am also choosy when it comes to beneficiaries...I usually go for the beneficiary which I think deserves most. My previous runs were limited to 4k and 5k. Recently, I have tried to run for 8K. I had no idea where the route is...but, during the actual race I never thought it was. Looking back in my previous runs the route were just easy no ups and downs, the road where I used to passed by every day. In my recent 8k race I can say it was really different from the other race I have joined so far, Although I felt tired along the way but I managed to finish the race. It was a different feeling after all... Most especially when I reached the finish line and someone handed to me my finishers medal and race bag. I am so thankful also for the experience to run that day for the benefit of the street children of Davao city, the main beneficiary of that activity. Probably, that will be my last run this year and hopefully I can join more Fun Run next year as my way of helping and donating to charities.

Public toilets are generally divided by gender but there are also few public toilets that are unisex. Toilet is also commonly known as comfort room, bathroom, restroom, powder room, and washroom which are free of use or with a minimal fee. This kind of facility is made available in any business establishments to cater customers or generally known as the "public". Most of the comfort rooms in the malls have staff or attendants; this is so to maintain cleanliness... In some places there are also other public toilets that imposed a minimal fee. Imagine a public toilet without an attendant? Isn’t it awful? I've gone through a public toilet without a staff and paid two pesos, when I entered the room I almost back off due to unpleasant odor. Tissues are scattered on the floor. But because you feel the call of nature which seems to be uncontrollable anymore then you have no choice.

I have entered quite a number of comfort rooms (public toilets) and recently I accidentally entered into a room at Abreeza mall which was totally different from the one I saw before. I was wondering a few moments if it really was a comfort room or an office because there was a couch on the other side which serves as the waiting area. When I confronted the girl seated in front of the room she confirmed to me it is a CR and you have to pay ten pesos (P10.00) per use. But, if you a receipt worth (P200) two hundred pesos in any of the stores inside then you are free to use it. I knew then that I have entered the wrong direction, but curious though. I know very well that there is a free comfort room at Abreeza, but since I was already there so I decided to explore what's inside... why the management is charging ten pesos per use. Obviously I was curious; I wanted to know what is inside.

Well, it's worth it! The attendants were so friendly and welcomed me with a smile. The place is very clean, lights are perfect, mirrors are so clear and the entire place smells so good. One of the best toilets I have entered so far among malls here in our place. Although ten pesos is ten pesos but comparing it to other comfort rooms in there which are full of users I might say you have no inhibitions there. You can freely use it without thinking of somebody waiting outside your door. This may sound "Baduy" but I forgot to take pictures of me while inside. I could have asked the assistance of one of the attendants but I forgot the camera that it was in my bag that time. I thought I had left it with my son who was patiently waiting for me outside.

I wanted to go back inside just to take pictures my golly my son laughed at me. I felt ashamed, LOL! Well, I was mesmerized by the look or the interior side of it, very clean and organized I told my son and he just shrugged his shoulders....Huh! I am curious again what my son think of her mother that time...and I did not bothered to ask him though. I am a kind of person who easily appreciates things especially if it catches my attention and gave me comfort. It was just one of the things that I appreciated most that day. No regrets for paying ten pesos...

According to experts running is very good and provides great cardiovascular workout. Running strengthens and tones your muscles as well. It is also a great workout for people who really want to loose weight and to get fit. Jogging regularly is also another way to enhance your health and fitness, it also helps in loosing weight.

Lately, I became interested in running and joining "Fun Run" events for a good cause. I am not only helping myself to stay fit but helping other groups with good intentions as well. So far I have joined two events the 35th Milo National Marathon and the first Kapamilya Run for the benefit of Matina Pangi River and Bantay Bata. I know running a 5K category is something for a first timer like me. But, exercising regularly is a big factor I guess for finishing the race.

Yes, another reason in joining fun run is for me to loose weight. Obviously I still need to shed some extra pounds which I did not get from a regular exercise...and running I believed will contribute to it. This month I have two 5k Runs in my list and coming December I still have to choose the fun run event I will be joining. I am also choosy when it comes to beneficiaries which I think are the most deserving.

I know running a 5K category is somehow tiring especially if you don't have any training. But, being a health conscious individual nowadays and exercising regularly at the gym helped me to become a finisher and sustained the race. Hopefully, I will increase my running activity to 8k next year...God bless me!

When I was in grades 5 and 6 I developed an interest in running and I had competed in 100,200 meter dash and 400 meter relay. It was a great experience for me considering I like what I did. Even until now I still like to run and lately I joined Fun Run here in our City. The latest Fun Run event I have joined was last Sunday in the 35th Milo National Marathon. The race started at 5:30 am for 5K run and I am proud to say that I finished the race in 31minutes and 26 sec. Joining an event like this is one way to keep healthy and strong, in my age I don't want to refrain myself from this kind of activity. I know I can still do it...Helping and contributing something to identified charities and projects through fun run inspires me. God willing I know there will be more fun run I will be joining in the coming days.

Hubby brought "Go Nuts" as pasalubong during one of his trip to Manila few weeks ago. I Love DoNuts but I am eating it moderately nowadays. Imagine, 1 sugared Donuts contains 305 calories, plain Donuts 300 calories, Jelly-Filled donuts 215 calories and glazed donuts 215 calories. Remember, in order to lose weight you have to cut down your calorie in take. You have to burn 3,500 calories for you to lose one pound. Meaning if you burn 500 calories a day approximately you can lose one pound in a week time.

One box contains six Donuts and hubby bought 3 boxes, my golly I forgot about "calories" that day and I consumed 2-3 donuts within the day...It makes me feel guilty afterwards. The following day I walked and run in the treadmill for 1 hr and finished a one hour weight loss program in the cross trainer machine.

I've been very busy again for the past few days and I would say I terribly missed my blogger friends. Being a busy body nowadays refrains me from sitting down more often in front of my PC. There are many things I would like to share but right now my time is very limited. I hope anytime soon I can resume blogging regularly just like before wherein I can almost update my blog, if not daily but at least twice or thrice a week. In this modern world a lot of women set aside huge amount to enhance their appearance. Many women wants to look good always and some of them turned beauty experts and tried cosmetic surgeries. Aside from it girls of today loves accessories they go with the flow, they don't want to be left behind of what is new in fashion trend.

When I go to a mall I usually go to shoes and bags department then to accessories like bangles, bracelets, earrings, rings, etc. I normally appreciate everything what is displayed but I don't buy right away. I weigh things out if I don't really need it then I won't buy it. I am a practical person I only get or buy a thing which I think is very important and useful. For me the price doesn't matter as long as it is of quality and I like the style then I will go for it. Lately, I've been trying to look for rings, and I have read a lot about tungsten jewelry online, since I am not so much fond of gold jewelries I guess this kind will capture my attention.

What else do women like to have? Oh! I believed women like to have lots of shoes. Some women wants to have in their possession different styles and colors of shoes. Me, yes I admit I love shoes but since I resigned from the office I only buy a pair of shoes now when the need arise. Although sometimes I am tempted to buy especially if I really like it, and mind you if it is on sale, if not then I will have second thoughts. I Love Sweets...

Hubby just came home from a three days trip to Manila. Every time he goes to Manila he always bought Muhlach "Ensaymada". Lately, the sugar free variant is my favorite and he brought two boxes together with "Go Nuts". I am not yet certain if this ensaymada is already available here in Davao but I am sure Go Nuts is available at Abreeza mall. I prefer Go Nuts over any other Donuts because it's a little less sweet. I mean unlike other kinds of Donuts where it taste so sweet including the toppings. Muhlach ensaymada on the other hand was one of my favorite way back and I am happy that they have a sugar free ensaymada now. I really appreciate the taste and I love the cheese toppings...It really taste great. I love sweets but I eat it moderately now and I became choosy for the kind of sweets that I am eating. I also love chocolates but I go for DARK chocolates.

I took a quiz this morning a personality test from "blogthings". Blogthings offers online tests, quizzes and surveys on different subjects. Since it's been awhile that I have not taken any quiz from blogthings which I used to before, this morning I decided to answer one quiz about personality. I interpreted the result in my own words. Below are some of my characteristics according to the test result from blogthings.

I am sometimes emotional. Power? I don't think I crave for it. I am active in the sense that I don't just stay the whole day doing nothing at home. To keep myself active I workout at the gym and join dance sessions, etc. Everyday is a challenge for me but I am always glad because I sustain whatever tasks and activities I have each day. There are times when I feel bored but I don't let boredom gets in the way. Resourceful? well, I guess so...maybe in some other ways and it depends on the situation.

"Kasal" or Kasalan is a Filipino term for wedding here in the Philippines. It is a tradition for a man and woman in love to get married after their engagement. Marriage is a ceremony wherein a man and a woman tie the knot and officially called husband and wife. But, in some cases there are couples who are engaged and are not lucky enough to be called husband and wife. There are also those who got married but easily broke their vows. Different stories to tell and reasons to believe behind the break up is something everyone wants to hear. I feel sad for those couples who did not sustain their marriage but I do not condemn them though.

The task and responsibilities behind the word Marriage is not simple. A lot of people entered into marriage without enough understanding of what they are entering into, then afterwards got separated. It is not easy to lead a happy, contented and peaceful married life. It takes a lot of courage and effort to stick together considering the many temptations around. It should also be important to have a great understanding among partners. I believed it is not only love that builds a strong relationship but it has to have concern, devotion and dedication towards each other.

Last Saturday I attended a wedding at Garden Oasis; It was supposed to be a garden wedding but the weather seems to be not cooperating that time so it was transferred to a function hall. I felt excited for that wedding, why? Because it was my first time to attend as one of the principal sponsors. I have never been a sponsor or a ninang ever since.
