i happen to be a big kardashian fan. what i like most about them are their outfits. they know how to dress for their curves and they always manage to look sexy, yet classy. so its no surprise that i'm often inspired by them.

the outfit below was completely inspired by kim, down to the nail color. i had to improvise with the hat and belt, of course, but i think it may have come close enough.

jeans: express
shirt: express
shoes: bakers
watch: target
bag: mulberryfor target
necklace: t&co

pineapple and mint.

2011-07-14T01:00:00.000-07:00

it was so hot today i decided i thought it was good idea to finally use up the deliciously ripe pineapple sitting on our counter. my sister usually makes a pineapple and mint drink whenever we visit. i thought it was my turn to try. it was quite easy to make and quite refreshing. perfectly suiting for the weather.

{simple ingredients: pineapple and freshly picked mint}

{peel and...}

{...cut}

{toss in the mint}

{toss in the pineapple}

{add some water}

{add sugar to taste}

{and blend}

{strain}

{serve with ice}

a little neon in my life.

2011-07-11T20:14:00.000-07:00

so here's another outfit post this week. i wanted to post a different kind of post today to keep things more interesting but as i said here, i won't put any pressure on my self. so this is what i got, and it is what it is.
now about this dress which i just love love love. i specifically love the racer back and the neon with grey. i added a colorful sports bra because i just happened to have one that matched. i think i loved this dress because it reminded me of this dress when i saw it hanging at the zara sales rack. except it's a more summery, relaxed version. which is perfect for the hot weather we've been suffering! as my friend brooke says: bah hambug at this nasty weather. but yay for this adorable dress i scored at zara.

dress: zara (S)
sandals: bakers (S)
jewelery: tiffany (SSS)
sunnies: ray-bans (SS)
sportsbra: target (S)
bag: louis vuitton neverful gm ($$$$)
cute puppy: priceless (SSSSS...SS?)

thanks for stopping by,

Jules

i've taken a small vacation from my blog. and i've contemplated coming back many times and have talked myself out of it, because of lack of time or a camera. but i realized i keep making excuses because the reality is, it's a lot of work! it requires a good amount of time and sometimes i just don't have it. but i've realized that there are no rules when it comes to my blog. its my voice, my ideas and i won't put pressure on myself because of it. so here i go again venturing into this blog sphere. let me catch you up on what's been going on.

Husband's Birthday Weekend

2010-12-06T16:46:00.000-08:00

Hello friends!

Sorry I've been a little MIA lately. It's been crazy lately and I'm also in the midle of finals {which will be over in a week, hooray!}

Anyways, for husband's birthday I decided to plan a special weekend for him. The plan was for us to go to a Wolf Mountain Winery, have lunch at their delicious cafe outlooking the beautiful GA mountains, enjoy some of their delicious wines, and relax in the nice chilly weather. I booked the night at a small B&B in the mountains so we wouldn't have to drive back after so much wine.

The weekend was perfect! The food was delish and the wine was goooo-oood.

We also met this cute couple and we instantly became friends. {We ended up going to dinner with them that night and had a really good time!}

Delicious Margarita pizza

Picture does no justice to the gorgeous view

Vines

Blazer: H&M, Sweater: Zara, Undershirt: Hanes, Jeans: Don't remember, Boots: Zara, Bag: Speedy 30

loved how this guy was rocking the elbow patches, specially since I was also rocking elbow patches on my Zara sweater

Wine barrels full of wine, of course!

Our new friends, Natalia and Worth

I wish I had taken more pictures of the day/weekend.

But I may, or may not have had a little too much wine and forgot to!

God bless,

Jules

Black Friday

2010-11-26T12:51:00.000-08:00

Happy Black Friday!

Did you go shopping today?

I didn't. I don't do black friday very well. I usually end up buying things I don't need, because I'm very much of an impulse buyer. I usually figure that whatever I absolutely need, I should be able to afford to pay for its full price.

This past week, I ventured out into some DIY projects. I'm still working on one of them.

And the other, I wore yesterday!

Maegan from ...love Maegan did this DIY and I just could not help myself. Specially since I had been wanting a faux fur coat for a while now. It was extremely easy to do. And if you like mine, I strongly encourage you to do it. I thought about writing out my steps, but I figured Maegan did a much better job. You really should just follow her steps.

And here it is, Voila!

{Too bad I didn't get a closer picture of it, and I'm sorry the quality came out so poor}

I hope you had lots to eat! And it was wonderful!

We had so much food.

I always like how beautiful my mom makes the table look!

God Bless,

Jules

Warning: This post may make you hungry

2010-11-23T08:00:00.000-08:00

Today I am a rockstar housewife! I cooked up some awesome beef strognoff, which the husband loves, therefore making me a rockstar! Apparently it is {and it was} pretty easy to cook. I can definately see myself whipping this up in a matter of minutes {and rocking out around the house; I like being a rockstar}The best part is husband really loves this stuff, and we all know I like to make husband happy, 'so I will add this recipe to the '4 things I can cook and will cook again'.

So here's how I earned my rockstar status.

Who chops up onions this way?!

A little onion, garlic and olive oil.

Then add the meat of your choice {i chose steak}

Add some veggies or whatnots of your choice; I added heart of palms {because I love the stuff} and some green onions

Then some diced tomatoes.

Here's where I went slighty wrong. You see, sometimes I get carried away in my cooking and forget that I'm not as skilled as I wish to be, and I forget to follow the recipe.

I was supposed to add only 1 tbsp of tomato sauce; I added 1 whole can.

Slighty saucy.

Add some table cream and

Voila!

I promise you that it tasted sooo much better than it looked.

It's supposed to go with rice, but because I got so excited in cooking my little beef stroganoff, I forgot all about it and burned the rice! I was so upset.

The whole house smelles like something went terrible wrong.

Oh well, reason #222 why I don't cook. I'm just not that good at it.

Have a good one!

God bless,

Jules

It's definately fall up in here

2010-11-22T13:50:00.000-08:00

Remember this wishlist right here? Well, check out them boots! It's the same excact ones from the list and I'm loving them. I could easily wear them everyday, with everything I own, they are that awesome.

Altough it looks like fall and technically it is, it does not feel it at all. Therefore, I have mixed feelings about this weather. I want it to be cold because I actually appreciate the cool weather, and I really enjoy wearing my winter wardrobe. But I guess it's kinda nice to be able to still enjoy this gorgeous weather, and sit outside on the patio {eventhough we don't have one} and be able to go on walks {although I haven't had any walks lately} without freezing my teeth off. I guess what Im realizing is that I need to get my butt outside and enjoy some Fall before it's gone!

And check out them elbow patches!! I'm really struggling NOT to put elbow patches on all my sweaters. Look how easy it is to sew them on yourself.

So, my beef strognoff was a huge success! It tastes sooo delish! I even invited my family over for dinner { which never happens, because I ~~never~~ rarely cook} I hope they're proud. I will post pictures later of that whole process. I'm off to work on one of my DYI projects! wheeee!

God bless,

Jules

Just another outfit post

2010-11-21T21:45:00.000-08:00

For this outfit, I must say I was actually inspired ~~a little~~ a lot by this outfit. We went out to dinner with my brother-in-law and his wife and we had wonderful time! I wish I had taken pictures at the restaurant because it was such a cute little place. Delicious food, cozy atmosphere and lovely company sums up our night. We will definately be going back.

I don't usually wear skirts this short, but husband likes it, and I like making husband happy. It's fun!

These are my new shoes {which I need to get a better picture of} and I love them! They are not booties, I think they're called shooties? Well, they were the missing piece in my shoedrobe. They go with everything and add about a good 5" to my height. Mama like!!

Oh, oh!I almost forgot to tell you. Tomorrow I'm going to embark on some DIY projects and I'm super excited! I will try and capture the process or I may just show the final project depending how scattered-brain I get. I tend to be a bit of a space cadet, so I may or may not forget to actually take pictures throughout the projects. Please don't judge me.

1st DIY project of the day: Cooking some beef strognoff for my husband...{not sure you can call cooking a 'diy project' but I'm still pretty pumped}

Stay tuned!

Have a good night people!

God bless,

Jules

Birthday Boy

2010-11-19T12:51:00.000-08:00

Last week was husband's birthday, and because I went through a small blogging hiatus I completely missed out on giving him a birthday shout-out. {insert sad face here} Since we are still in the month of November.... Happy Birthday Babe!

{ I'm so blessed to be married to you, you handsome thing you. }

Thank you for allowing me to spend ~~your~~ our money and never getting mad at me when I buy a little too much.
Thank you for making me laugh at least 500x a day.
Thank you for not getting mad at me when I broke the car radio. {OK, you did get a little mad, but I thought you would be madder}
Thank you for taking me out on many dates throughout the week.
Thank you for being so darn good-looking!
Thank you for trying {and succeeding} to make me happy every single day...

I love you so much, words are just not enough.

Love, The Wifey

Just for fun

2010-11-08T18:14:00.000-08:00

{My best friend Hana, Me, my other best friend & sister :)}

So, I'm not feeling so good today. I have a sore throat and my body is achy. Husband, in all his sweetness, went to get me some chicken soup from the mexican restaurant {my fave!} down the street. My husband is the best, I tell ya.

This weekend was so much fun. Hubs and I went on a couple of dates. Friday night was sister's birthday dinner. Saturday night we went to watch Social Network and it was really good. I knew it would be, but it's one of those movies that leave you talking about it afterwards. Sunday, we went to another birthday celebration for my sister {like I said on my last post, she really does celebrate all month long} and for some weird reason I took no pictures to document any of it. Boo!

But in honor of my sister's month-long celebration here are some pictures of the two of us {and my BFF since midle school}

Last month, we went to one of my favorite places, sips n strokes. {Do you have one in your area?}

It's a place where you can sip on your beverage of choice and paint! Simple right?

And it is. They have an intructor showing you step by step how to paint. Everyone paints the same picture but they all come out different and unique. It's one of my favorite things to do!

My face looks huge. haha

i made a boo-boo

The finished work

{My two BFFs}

Just wanted to share with you some fun times.

God bless,

Jules

A Birthday Dinner

2010-11-06T12:26:00.000-07:00

Last night we {husband, I, sister, and sister's husband} went out to celebrate her b-day.

We tried a new restaurant and IT WAS DE-LI-CIOUS!

My sister is one of those people that celebrate her birthday all month long and since her birthday is on the 1st of November, there will be many celebrations through out the month! Which is always fun!

We had a great time.

Doesn't husband look so cute?

I love these two!!!!!!!

Key Lime Pie

Creme Brulee

Husband and I are going to watch Social Network tonight.

Have you seen it?

God bless,

Jules

Meet My Mulberry {for Target}

2010-11-04T05:50:00.000-07:00

At first I was excited about the new Mulberry for Target line. When it finally hit stores, I was slightly disappointed....

Until I saw THIS baby winking at me !

Then I got excited all over again. And have been excited ever since!

Although it's not real leather it's such a great bag! It's soft and super roomy without overpowering me!

I took it out for its very first outing last night.

We {mulberry & i} had a great time!

God bless,

Jules

"What is up with her hair?"

2010-11-03T06:54:00.000-07:00

Okay, so it was a bad hair day.

No. I lie.

It was a dirty hair day.

I could have washed it this morning but instead I chose to wear it as a bun.

Shoulda washed the hair.

Oh well.

So, about this outfit.

One of my favorite bloggers {Cafe Fashionista} featured these Mossimo Supply Co. riding boots as one of her Sunday Steals {and they were definately a steal} last month. So without any hesitation { I just couldn't resist} I got on the Target website and ordered me a pair. I haven't been able to wear them successfully yet. Meaning, I haven't found the perfect outfit to go with them. But I think this gets pretty close.

I like that they make me look a little hard-core.

{But I'm not so sure if I like how big my bum looks in these jeans}

oh well.

God bless,

Jules

Weekend with all my favorite boys

2010-11-02T06:19:00.000-07:00

This past weekend the husband and I took our nephews to a pumpkin patch farm.
It was a blast!

We had such a good time.

Don't we look like the cutest little family??

They could totally be our kids. I told husband that instead of us having our own, we can just borrow children {nephews preferably} for the weeknd. Then return them when we get tired.

Sounds genius!

God bless,

Jules

Tuesday Night Date With Husband

2010-10-27T11:21:00.000-07:00

Here are 5 things you don't need to know but I'm gonna tell you anyways:

1. I didn't realize how unflattering these pants were on me, until I was posting pics for this post.

2. #1 will not stop me from wearing them again.

3. Husband does NOT like to be photographed unexpectadly.

4. We had THE BEST fried calamari last night.

5. Before going into the restaurant for our date, I made husband walk with me to Zara so I could buy something. Husband is awesome. He did, and didn't even complain.

God bless,

Jules

And I'm home

2010-10-26T14:23:00.000-07:00

So we're back from New Orleans. Good times, good times.

We actually got back yesterday morning, but I have been so incredibly lazy since I came back. I don't know how to get my pump back to pumping!! I have a list of things I need to get done this week but it has so far been untouched.

Our second day in NO was so hot and humid I really regretted wearing that white shirt but because I didn't pack smart {4 outfits to wear with boots when I knew it would be low 80s all weekend} I had sweaty underarms all day. lol {TMI? sorry!}

You can practically see the humidity in this picture.

Ah-mazing!!

It's good to be home.

Husband and I are going on a hot date tonight.

I'm excited.

God Bless,

Jules

Taking it easy in the Big Easy....

2010-10-23T15:49:00.000-07:00

Okay, So New Orleans is... different. But different isn't always a bad thing. It's different than what I had in mind.

I love it though. It's rich in history, culture and has GREAT food.

It is also dirty, smells of urine, and old in some parts. But I think the culture compesates for all of the above. Me & the husband went to Bourbon Street today and saw many people drunk {like, barely-walking-straight-drunk} at noon! We thought it was hilarious. Needless to say, We've been having a great time!!

However, the weather has NOT cooperated with me. It has been 85degrees alllll day long. Too hot for boots. But I actually put them on, walked outside and just felt too silly wearing them when everyone else had on booty shorts and flip flops. So thank goodness I brought some flats and some 'light-weather' clothes.

Bourbon St.

I wanted to post some pictures the city but it's taking fooooorrrr-evaaaaa to upload! So maybe tomorrowI can share a little New Orleans with the world. ;)

Hugs & Kisses from Lousiana

God Bless,

Jules

Down to the Big Easy

2010-10-22T11:47:00.000-07:00

Bags are packed. Snacks are ready. Road trip music is on.

We are off to New Orleans!!!

yiipee!!!

Can you feel my excitement??

I have never been, so I really am excited. I'm not sure what to expect. I am hoping for cooler weather {I already checked 20x and that 80 is not going down } but I'm still praying it's at least cool enough to wear my new boots!
I have about 4 outfits that go with my boots and if it's really hot my feet are gonna be toaaasty! I'm hoping to take some really good pictures and eat some really good crawfish. I already have a list of restaurants I want to try. I hope I get to all of them.

So off we go...

Have a great weekned,

God Bless,

Jules

Husband Needs Photography Classes

2010-10-20T19:07:00.000-07:00

Can you see why?

So I asked the husband to shoot some pics of me and well, I wish I hadn't. I love the man, but he has no idea what he's doing. He managed to get all my bad angles in one single photo shoot. I guess it's a gift. An ordinary gift that no one wants. I'm still thankful that he was willing to try. {Thank you baby} I guess we will have to work on it. Hopefully, we will have some improvements. We shall see.

Good night!

God blesssssss,

Jules
