Mr. Tastee’s is having a party this Friday to celebrate his new t-shirt designs. It’s going down inside and in front of St. Alfred’s from 4-8pm. I’ve heard there is a fun surprise in store as well… and stay tuned for the release of the visual mixtape (which looks really rad) and some possible Tastee giveaways in the near future right here on everyoneisfamous!

6/27-28/2009 | San Francisco: It was Pride weekend in San Francisco while I was there. I managed to miss (avoid?) the craziest stuff, which was fine with me because I just enjoyed wandering around at my own pace and hanging with some friends. I always love wandering around that city and taking photos on the streets and even though I spent more time hanging out than I did shooting photos, I still managed to get some fun shots. The Video for Keep Me in My Plane by WhoMadeWho is fantastic, and the song is stellar as well.

This is the first trailer I’ve seen for a music video but it’s well done and reminds me of how exciting I am to see the final video for Loungin’, which was shot by GL-Joe and features Skooda, Mikey Rocks and Twista. The unfinished rough cut I saw a while back looked very promising. I especially liked the sound design in this trailer. Check it out!

6/26/2009 | San Francisco: I arrived in San Francisco last Friday afternoon and had a day to wander around and hang out before heading over to Rickshaw Stop to shoot Blow Up SF. I spent most of said time with Richie Panic and his friends before meeting up with Ava Berlin in hopes of using her couch to take a quick nap. The nap never happened because an opening slot for me to DJ came up last minute, so we all headed over to the club and I played a few jams before the local DJs took over and got the kids to go crazy. Lazer Sword, Richie Panic, DJ Dials & Marko from Sugarcult all played. Here, you can see all the photographic evidence from the day, which includes plenty of photos of Richie’s cat and plenty of photos of Richie himself.. along with more photos of my week in San Francisco to come!

June 24, 2009 | Chicago: It’s always amazing to me how much cash these big liquor companies shell out to throw giant parties with free booze. Seriously, this place was huge, and nice. DFA label artists Yacht performed along with local acts Mano & Hollywood Holt. I was previous unfamiliar with Yacht but am now a fan for sure. Chillin’ with my cat…

Since my last post, a bunch has happened. Of course, Michael Jackson has died. It was a shock to most of us. I started to write about personal MJ experiences as a kid, but I’ll spare you all and just get to the point. I’m in San Francisco currently and heading to Los Angeles by week’s end. They’re telling me it’s Gay Pride weekend here (isn’t every weekend in San Francisco?) so there should be some good photos to get on those streets. I have some shots from last week in Chicago I wanted to get up first. The troubled Branded party ended up getting shut down and semi-relocated to Debonair. Here are a few shots from that (I didn’t shoot much that night). I’ve also got more Debonair photos (I’ve been living there) from last week’s installation of Rehab, which are on the way shortly…

I headed over to Ronny’s last week (6/16/2009) to check out the first night of Totally Michael’s current US & Canadian tour. I’m always a fan of Michael’s live sets, but this one was probably the best I’ve yet seen. Along with the trusty iPod filled with backing music, Michael was rocking out on his guitar and also had a live drummer, which worked out well. The drummer was doing double duties, as he also plays for Prizzy Prizzy Please, which was the headlining band and is along on tour with Totally Michael. Both artists are from Bloomington, Indiana and both are tons of fun.

Ronny’s is basically a non-descript room, with no elevated stage, no fancy lights, no over-bearing security, no photo pit, it’s just the band and you. These environments always make for good photo conditions. There are a bunch more photos from the show, click here to see them all!
