I’m having a lazy Sunday morning. They are the best! Just going to spruce the house up a bit, then off out to find some mischief. Not exactly sure what to do today, but it will without a shadow of a doubt, involve tiring The Monkey out beyond belief. She woke up ridiculously early today, which hasn’t happened for a while, but it has caused a bleary eyed start to the morning. Of course she is full of energy and ready to start the day….at 5.00am. Hideous.

I’m counting down the days till my ‘Jen’ transformation! Can’t wait to have new hair. Will it suit me? Not so sure. I’m feeling adventurous, so now’s the time to take a gamble. And it will be in time for an evening out with some lovely people next weekend. Next Saturday, we’re out for dinner, then who knows. Always have such a giggle, so really looking forward to it.

It’s nearly the end of the month and that means a winner will soon be announced for the years supply of KMS shampoo and conditioner. Very exciting! It’s a wet and windy morning in Cornwall, which makes me wish The Spring would hurry itself along a bit now. Keep seeing very beautiful new season clothing that has my name on it, but just can’t bring myself to purchase these beauties when it’s so cold. it’s a bit unfair really, that the shops tease you like this with new collections when it’s still February and blooming freezing! So my attentions have been turned (as always) to my barnet.  This is something that can have a early spring overhaul and quench my need for something new and different. I’ve decided to go lighter, oh yes. The appointments booked and I’m just counting down the days.  My aim is to have something resembling this…

To look completely like this would be ideal, however they don’t do face/body transplants at The Lounge (much to The Husbands annoyance, I didn’t find that funny. Even less so that he replied with “Don’t worry, I’ve got a good imagination”. Nice.) Perhaps not as blonde, but something along those lines. I will of course post a picture, when the transformation is complete!

How was your weekend? Well, mine was good,apart from ‘Friday Night Date Night’, did not go ahead. This little outing had been planned as I’d ruined Valentines and a subsequent ‘date night’ after that, due to falling asleep. The babysitter was cancelled as The Husband was struck by Man Flu. A terrible business, quite honestly. Ooh he has been full of the aches and pains, and all that goes with it. He has successfully passed it to every member in the household, so ‘date night’ has been postponed indefinitely. Just wasn’t meant to be.

Then Sunday afternoon, was spent on the beach with The Monkey, digging for treasure. It was bitterly cold but loads of fun! Not much treasure found, some lovely pebbles, if you like pebbles that is!  Love, love, love Sundays!

This morning I received my latest GlossyBox. I also subscribe to JolieBox (previously Boudoir Prive). I personally love these beauty boxes, the element of surprise as to what your going to receive. The receiving of and opening a ‘gift’ (albeit paid for by myself!) is an exciting task. The most enjoyable bit for me, is the experimenting with something new. Something I would not normally consider, possibly because of the packaging (you already know I’m shallow) or the price point and that resulting in finding a little gem. Obviously some months are going to be greater than others, in terms of what you receive and like. For example, I’m not exactly bowled over by this months GlossyBox on first sight of the products, but I’m yet to try them, so this opinion may change. What I do like is that they have included a card with exciting news – a mystery box for next month. Very clever, as this kept my interest…

In the last post, I mentioned the planned lovey doveyness in store for Valentines evening, including a lovely meal and me actually making some effort in the make up department. Well, unfortunately there was a little hitch. I fell asleep at 7pm and slept through till 7am the next morning!! The Husband was a little disappointed at being ‘stood up’ as you can imagine. I enquired as to why he didn’t wake me from my slumber, he muttered something about not daring to wake a sleeping beast. Oh. Right. I agree I can be a ‘touch’ grumpy if woken, so promised that Valentines had just been postponed and would commence last night. Only to be greeted by a very, very stoney faced Husband at 7am this morning. I’d done it again! Another 12 hour kip! Ooh, he wasn’t happy. Not happy at all. So now to make up for my impromptu narcolepsy, I booked a babysitter for Friday night. No chance of passing out (I hope) if I’m in a lovely restaurant, stuffing my face. So The Husband has accepted this way of apology and is now speaking to me again. Now, is that a good thing or bad??!! Ha!

Happy Valentines Day! Do you celebrate with your loved one? Or simply dismiss it as a load of (expensive) rubbish? The Husband and I have not celebrated ‘the day of love’ for many years. We previously have preferred to moan about it and consider ourselves above all the nonsense. What a pair moany buggers!! Well, this year is a little different,  due to my new found vigour and sunny disposition.  I have insisted we overdose on all things lovey dovey. So cards have been exchanged and ‘date night’ will be in full swing tonight after The Monkey is in bed. This will consist of a slap up meal, washed down with a bottle of Prosecco, topped off with a romantic comedy. Sickening? Yes! But why not?? I’m looking forward to it. I’m even going to trowel some make up on, even tough we’re only staying in. Suppose I better make an effort and cover up my deathly pallor. Best not put him off his grub. I found some inspiration for this from Pixiwoo. Have you heard of these sisters? They are extremely talented Make Up Artists, who do easy to follow tutorials on YouTube. Take a butchers at this….

How’s the week treating you so far? Have any bits fallen off, from the ridiculously cold weather? Ooh I have turned unpleasant shade of blue. I’m a fair weather person, see. Perfect temperature for me is measured on a simple scale – warm enough to pop out without your coat to blistering hot. This bitter cold has me all hunched up with my shoulders up by ears. Two things positive about this cold snap though, one being everywhere looks beautiful with it’s frosty topping (sorry, still feeling all lovey dovey and seeing everything with a rose tinted view) and two, I get to wear a hat. That mean’s I haven’t got to tame my barnet of a morning. And that means 10 more lovely cosy minutes under a snuggly duvet. Every cloud and all that…

Now on to my new favourite of the moment, New CID I-Smoulder Smokey Eye Pencil And Shadow in the shade Ember. I was given this bad boy for my birthday from The Lovely Sampsons (owners of Everything4hair.com) and was as happy as a you know what. It’s the easiest eyeliner/eyeshadow combo I’ve used. On one end is the liner, a kohl with a thick and skinny side, so you can achieve a more precise line if needed. On the other is eyeshadow, which is loaded on to the applicator, each time you open and close it.  This is perfect for application on the go and for travelling. The shade Ember is a knock out. I love to do a smokey eye with a golden brown. I find it much more flattering, than a traditional black. I found it to be highly pigmented, with great staying power. If your not yet familiar with the New CID range, I highly recommend giving it a go. I’m slowly building my collection, next on the list…New CID Colour Adjust Foundation. This sells out pretty quick, so when I can next lay my hands on some, I trial it and let you know…

Please let me apologise sincerely for the lack of posts. My MIA status has a valid reason, which I won’t bore you with the details, just to say I have had a week from hell, resulting in the best news ever, and a renewed zest for life.
