Joining the league of international stars like Victoria Beckham, Madonna and Jennifer Lopez, Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor is all set to launch her own website.

The site would inform netizens about the actress' latest fashion trends.

"Kareena's official website is going to be on an absolutely tech savvy format. It's going to be on the lines of the sites of international stars like Victoria Beckham, Madonna and Jennifer," a source close to the actress revealed Tuesday.

The source added: "Her website is going to be more fashion oriented. The site will have updates not only of Kareena's fashion trends but also other trends that take place all over the globe".

The actress has been known for her fashion presence even in the fashion fraternity and looks forward to sharing her trend sense with her fans through the site.

"She has sound knowledge about the fashion industry and the web site will give her a chance to share her fashion knowledge with her fans. There have been a number of occasions when Kareena has even actively participated in designing her own costumes for films," said the source.

Kareena is also the brand ambassador of a global fashion retail chain Globus.

Bajaj XCD is Exceeding my Patience limit!

I purchased Bajaj XCD on 12th December 2007 by thinking it will atleast rescue me from these crowdy BMTC buses. This bike has given lot of trouble to me. By now I have submitted 3 complaints to Bajaj customer care. Everytime I submit a complaint they will arrange service people to attend my problem. In this regard Bajaj is very good as they atleast listen to our trouble. But the service people are worst! they have such a unskilled people, to solve one problem they would introduce few more new troubles for you. I do not want to explain what problems I have with my bike( please visit my 'Honest review' on Bajaj XCD at MouthShut for the details). 15 days back I was going home from my office on Old Madras road. It was another long day of Ramadan fasting. I wanted to reach home early so that I can get ready for prayer and to end fasting. On old madras road near big bazaar my bike stopped suddenly. I tried lot to start it but unfortunately nothing worked. I started pushing it to find any service station on the way. My luck hit such a bad stroke that there was not a single Bajaj service station on Old Madras road. People would see me and show mercy on me. Few good guys stopped and offered me help. One guy asked me if I need petrol. This shows that we still have few human beings in Bangalore! At last one guy came pushed my bike till we found one local mechanic in ulsoor. My bike was a new object for the mechanic and he started experimenting with it. He dismantled the gearbox and found that the Dynamo has came out and connector wires are cut so no current is generating and hence bike is not starting up! Okay.....I just wanted my bike to start so that I can take it to my home and dump it. Somehow it got ready by 8pm. After 15 days, my bike has went into Coma stage again. This time I complained to Bajaj again. As usual they listened to my problem and they took my bike to their service station. Now I am waiting for to see what they will see. Today they will deliver it and I am not sure if the problem is solved perfectly as the bke itself is not perfect. The bike is made up of such a low quality material or technology I dont know but for me it just sucks! Guys...please do not buy Bajaj XCD and stop people buying it.

Hello friends,
I purchased Bajaj XCD 125 on 12th Dec 2007. Before going for this I did lot of research and finally settled down to this bike for1. Mileage 2. Looks and ofcourse the 3. Price. I will
list my views about this bike as follows:

Good for:
1. The ride quality is excellent. You will feel proud while riding. Engine runs very smooth.
2. Looks good. The bike looks somewhat sporty and stylish.
3. Light weighted.

Now.....
hummmm...here I tell you my honest views about this bike.
Guys,
dont listen to anyone about mileage..some say it gives 80 and some say 75 like that. Belive me it gives how you ride. I you ride it smoothly(below 40 then it gives you good mileage and if you ride it with high speed then you may not get mileage.). Before my first servicing I got just 45 kms p.l after 1st serviceing I am getting around 55 dont know if this goes well in futre!

There are some serius problems I came across this bike.
1. The bike has IDLING problem. My bike will stop in first gear I mean I cant hold it for more than 2-3 mins in First gear! Engine will stop in first gear sometimes it will stop even in neutral.
I told this to SERVICE people but they told this idling problem and they adjusted it and it ran okay for some time(not even for one day). Again I am facing the same trouble. Even I complained this to Bajaj Customer Care(Pune) but I dont know if the Rep raised my complaint to conerned dept or Bajaj may not know the solution!

2. The digital fuel gauge seems cool. But dont think that its accurate as it is DIGITAL....Guys its faulty! some times it will show empty and suddenly it may show 2-3 bars above.
Hummm...for this I got explaination as this happens due to the fuel level measuring ball in the tank . This might be right but I think they could have done something to stabilise it as this is common sense that when you ride bike will vibrate and hence the ball inside the tank.

3. Some times I notice that I struggle to put 4th gear. It strucks and gives abnormal sound. I feel like I am putting 2 gears but its one that is 4th but dont know how it happened.

DO NOT Except quality service from the Service people..they will do thier routine job work. They will write your problems in JOB SHEET nad they will do as they do commonly. Instead you go inside and ask them to check for everything you have problems.

Anyways...I still feel proud to won this bike. I really forget all these problem once I start riding my bike. This bike has become my second GF9my gf says that).

BTW Bajaj should listen to my problem and try to solve them.

Part 12: Tracking Account

You can track the performance of your AdSense for content ads and your AdSense for search pages from the Reports tab of your publisher account. The Reports tab includes two sub-tabs: Overview and Advanced Reports. There is also important information included in the Payment History table, which is linked from the Overview as well as the My Account tab.

Overview: this screen provides you with quick access to today's earnings, in addition to your page impressions, clicks, click through rate, effective CPM and earnings for several pre-set date ranges (if you do not know what these terms mean, we have provided a Glossary at https://www.google.com/adsense/glossary). Overall AdSense for content and AdSense for search statistics displayed on this page can be expanded to show data for top-performing channels. You can also view predefined Quick Reports by clicking the links at the bottom of the page.

Note: if you are viewing Channel reports, the data is delayed two days before appearing in your reports. This gives us time to synchronise the data across all channels, but means that you will not see any results if you select a date range within the last two days.

Advanced Reports: Using the Advanced Reports page, you can create customized reports by choosing a product, a date range and any channels. Page impressions, clicks, click through rate, effective CPM and earnings for any dates and options you prefer can be displayed from this page.

Payment History: This page tracks the status of previously issued payments, as well as monthly account calculations. "When am I paid?"

One of the more common questions we receive at AdSense support is, "when am I paid?" This is, in our opinion, a very justifiable question - after all, AdSense is designed to provide an easy way to monetise your content pages and that includes regular payment.

This section will describe the payment cycle of your AdSense account, so that you will have a good idea of when and how your payment will arrive.

Earnings calculated: On the last day of each month, our system identifies all accounts that have earned $100 or more in valid user clicks. This figure is calculated from your unpaid earnings - if you earned $40 one month and $70 the next, you are eligible for payment. All accounts with $100 or more are then sent for approval. Earnings details will be posted to the Payment History page of all publisher accounts within the next few days.

Payment calculated: Within the next few weeks, a 'Payment' line item will be posted to your account's Payment History page (found below the My Account tab) when your payment has been calculated.

At this time, we will have your cheque printed and in the mail or your Electronic Funds Transfer payment initiated. All cheques are made out to the Payee Name entered in your account; EFT payments are sent to the bank account specified in the Payment Information section of the My Account tab.

Payment arrives: The time it takes for your payment to arrive depends on the form of payment you have selected. Generally, publishers in the U.S. will receive regular delivery cheques within 1-2 weeks of the mailing date, while publishers outside of the U.S. will typically receive their regular delivery cheque in 2-3 weeks. Secure Delivery will generally arrive in 5-7 days and EFT payments should arrive in your bank account within 2-4 days. If there are any problems with your EFT or cheque, a notice will be posted on your Payment History page. If you haven't received your secure delivery or EFT payment by the 5th of the next month, you can request a reissue by contacting us. Publishers using standard delivery can request a reissue on the 25th.

Holding Payments: If for any reason you would prefer not to receive your cheque at any time, we are happy to hold payments for you.If you would like to pause your payments, you may do so from within your publisher account. Setting a payment self-hold will stop payments until you update your preference and remove the hold. Your account will continue to accrue earnings, and we will send you a single consolidated payment during the first payment cycle after you remove your hold. To modify your hold preference:

Are you wondering when your AdSense cheque or Electronic Funds Transfer will arrive? Or if you are going to be paid this month or next month? We have put together this guide to explain our payment process - from the 5 critical steps to setting up your account, to an overview of the life of a payment, everything you need to know is here.
5 Steps to getting paid

1. Check your address
Since payments are sent to the mailing address submitted with your application, it is important to confirm the accuracy of your contact information and payee name. If you need to correct any information:

Log into your account at https://www.google.com/adsense
Select the My Account tab.
Click the edit link adjacent to Payee Information and update the appropriate fields.
Click Save Changes to update your account or Cancel to exit without saving.

For security reasons, you cannot change the Payee Name or Country fields once your application has been approved. If you need to make changes to either of these fields, please contact us and request that we close your account. Once your request has been processed, you will then be able to submit a new application with the corrected payee name and mailing address.

2. Provide your tax information
In addition to confirming your contact information, you will need to submit your tax information so that you may become eligible to receive a payment from Google. We are required to collect tax-related information from all AdSense publishers, including publishers who are based outside of the U.S. and we are unable to send payment to you until your information has been submitted. So do not skip this step!

If you have not yet submitted your tax information, click the Tax Information link from the My Account tab. From this page, an easy-to-use wizard interface will help guide you to the appropriate online forms. You are able to submit most forms online, and we will give you instructions on submitting any other forms that may be required.

3. Select your form of payment
Depending on your payment address, there may be a number of payment options available to you we suggest you read What forms of payment are available to me? in the AdSense Support centre to learn about each option. Once you have decided how you would like to be paid, click the Payment Information [edit] link from the My Account tab of your AdSense account. Follow the instructions on that page to select your form of payment. Your payments will be held until you have selected a form of payment.

4. Enter your PIN

Once you have earned $50 in combined AdSense for content and AdSense for search earnings, we will mail a Personal Identification Number to the payment address in your account. You will need to enter this PIN into your account before we can send any payments to you. Your PIN will be sent by standard post and will take 2-3 weeks to arrive.

5. Generate $100 in earnings

Each month, we send out check and EFT payments to all publishers who have earned $100 or more. If you have earned less than $100, your earnings will roll over to the next month, until your total earnings meet the $100 threshold. Payment is disbursed within approximately 30 days of the end of the month to see the timeline of our payment cycle, read the Payment Timelines section below.

How to Promote your blog? Part-1

After creating your own blog with good content now you wish your blog to be read by everyone. You cannot just wait for people to come searching for your blog to read it. You have to promote your blog to get the visitors. There are several ways to promote your blog and I am listing as many ways as possible. One has to try all the possible ways to promote his/her blog. Before promoting your blog make sure that your blog has content which makes user to come back again. Its easy to get the visitors one time but you need to retain them and keep them coming again and again. Here I am posting series of posts on the topic "How to Promote your Blog?". Whatever I write here is from my experience, from my blogger friends experience, discussions on some forums, from articles of other bloggers(I admit) etc.

I start with some self tried ways in this post and in next posts I will cover the other standard ways to promote your blog.

1. Traget your own network:

Today we have so many social networking sites in which we have our profiles, All these sites allow you to make friends and make your own network. For example in Orkut you may have friends in hundreds or thousands. Just send a message to all your friends list and tell them about your blog.

You may also create your own community and make people to join it. Once your community grows you may use it for your blog's promotions.

You may also send an email to all your contact list giving link to your blog.

2. Add your blog link on your profile titles:

This is another best way I found easy to promote your blog. I use gtalk to chat with my friends and profile you have a option to create a custom message which will appear with name to every one on your list. People add quotes like "Happy Independence day" etc. You can add here "see my latest blog about blogging" and give your link to it. This method you can use for all your online profiles like Orkut, facebook, Hi5, ibibo. Wherever you get a chance to add your blogs link just do it! I have experimented this and I found it very useful.

3. Send some interesting Jokes or Pics and link it to your blog:

Now a day I get some emails with funny pics or with jokes. If you click on those pics you will be taken to some website or blog. So just create some interesting email with funny pictures, jokes, news etc and send it your list(do not SPAM). This may get you good traffic too as people may intern forward your emai to their friends list and this goes on.................

For example you have sent an email to 100 people and in that 100 even 10 people forward it to their 100 lists then your blog might gets traffic of 1010!

4. Word of Mouth:

Though this method is not as powerful as other methods but you can just make a habit of telling everyone about your blog. Whenever you get a chance for to speak to new people just share few things about your blog and encourage people to visit your blog. As I have already mentioned its easy to get first time visitors but your target should be to make visitors visit again and again.

5. Be Consistent:

Few people post 10 posts at a time and off for months together. Do not do that, just be conistent and make yourself disciplined in posting. You can post 2 posts per week like that.

This actor is well

known for his roles in non commercial movies like Chameli, Mr and Mrs Iyer etc. His movie with Mallika Sheravat( Pyar Ke Side effects) was a Hit. In his blog he write about everything- Politics, self, sports, cinema etc.

8. My Name is Karan Johar:

This guy is well known Director with many hits in his kitty. KKHH was a smash hit and this guy is known for the type of movies he produces( Typical Karan Johar movie). This director has very good sense of humour and he is also good at hosting shows like Cofee with Karan!

When BigAdda launched "Reliance Entertainment" spent a lot to promote their community website bigadda.com. But it did not turn that hit as Orkut in India. There is no surprise if Reliance wants to increase its bigadda's traffic by BigB's blog!

2. Mr Perfectionist: Amirkhan:

This Actor is known as perfectionist as he wants everything to be perfect whatever he does. He started blogging with lagaandvd.com. He later switched to aamirkhan.com. When you visit his blog you will see his getup for Gajini film. I see thousands of comments on his posts. It is clear that Amir has lots of fans in India and abroad. This perfectionist has made his blog to near perfect platform to express himself and to promote his forthcoming movies.

3. Salman Ka DUM:

I wonder how this angry man turned on blogging? May be producers of DUS KA DUM asked him do a favour. Salman has very loyal fans in India who do not care for his roles. His fans just want to see him on screen. This guy is known for his helping nature and I think he has done such a scrap movie called SAAWAN for friend Sawan Kumar.

4. Not Again! Ram Gopal Varma ki blog:

This man does not seem to be afr aid of anything. He does not care whether his film flops or hits but he knows what kind of movie he wants to make. I see lots of hate comments on his blog and even Ramu too does not care! This is called Self Confidence Sir!

Affiliate Programs

Affiliate Programs is a system in which you will get some commission if someone buys Product through your blog. When you sign up for Affiliate program you will get a link or banner to post on your blog. If someone clicks on that link/banner, he/she will be taken to that product's website. If the person went through your blog buys that product then you will be paid part of product's price. The commission is depends on the Affiliate programs. Affiliate programs also include subscription for services, buying products online etc. In subscription type of affiliate programs you will get part of revenue generated when the person signs up for their program.

Personaly I feel that Affiliate Programs are not that easy to earn money. You must have strong content to support these programs. Simply putting any affiliate banners or links on your blog may affect your blog/website's credibility and hence you may lose visitors. Always be careful while chosing affiliate programs. Many people sign up for affiliate programs and they remove the links or banners when that does not work for them. Few people put so many affiliate links/banners on there blogs and they end up with no profit from any. You can analyze and decide which programs suits best for you. I am listing few points to consider before chosing any affiliate program:

1. Chose Affiliate Program if it is related to your blogs content:

Your audience will visit your blog when they find the content on your blog worth reading. So if you provide links or advertisements related to your audience's interest then you are there. This is what Google Adsense do and that is how they are hit. Similarly chose Affiliate Programs related to your blogs content.

2. Analyze whether the Product is really buyable?

Always analyze the quality of product your promoting. If the quality of product is not good or the services you are promoting are not worth for your audience then its better not to go for that affiliate program. Always think like your audience.

3. Where to place Affiliate links/Banners?

Its very important to position your Affiliate link on your blog. The place should be chosen such a way that reader will have peak interest to click on it. Some bloggers place the links in between there posts. This is also good idea to place ads in between your posts. If you know little bit of HTML and stuffs like that then that will be of great help.

4. When should you go for Affiliate Programs?

Few Affiliate Programs chose bloggers bases on blogs content and visits. So first take some time to develope your blog and increase the hits. Once you find that your blog is drving constant hits and unique visitors are increasing then go for affiliate programs or Pay Per Post Programs(I will write about this in another post).

5. How to track your earnings?

All the affiliate programs come with statistics/reporting tools. Always keep track of your visits and earnings. This also gives you the idea about your audience's interest and you can tune your blog accordingly.

large affiliate networks that provide the platform for dozens or even hundreds of advertisers, and

3. Paid reviews and posts:

Getting paid to review products, services, and websites is an easy way to make money from your blog. You can advertise your paid post service right on your blog or sign up with programs like ReviewMe or PayPerPost who match bloggers with advertisers.

4. Get Paid to Blog

Bloggers can earn money per blog post. Some advertisers are willing to pay bloggers to blog about their products and/or services. Sites such as Pay Per Post, Smorty and Weblogs, Inc offer to pay bloggers to blog.

The downside to being paid for blog posts is that established blogs may be accused of losing it's authenticity.
