The Cypress point club is one of the few revered golf courses. This course was built in 1928 and since then, it has been occupying one of the top three listings for the best golf courses in many journals and publications. This club hosted many pro matches in the past and is always in an upper echelon in the history of golf, according to many professional players.

It is a very exclusive club and thus, only members can play in it. The total operating cost of the course is divided among the players and thus, there is no definite membership fee. No matter how many plays they had in the course, the members should pay the fee. The club is so exclusive that J F Kennedy was refused admission once.

The Cypress point club is present in the Santa Lucia Mountain’s foothills. One can use any kind of superlatives and adjectives to describe the beauty of this terrain. A new member is added to the club only when an old member dies or leaves the club. About 30 players play on the course on an average, every day. This makes it, a private course, with many celebrities in the member’s list. The difficulty level of the course changes with the weather condition.

The course has an aesthetic beauty appearance. It is bordered by open seaside, filled with array of hills and sandy dunes. The old discarded golf bags hang from the branches in the towering Cypress tree just behind the pro shop. It is no wonder that the Cypress point club is considered to be the most beautiful, greatest and one of the most comfortable golf course in the world.

The range finders are not permitted in the club and the caddies will accompany all the players. The course has irregular borders and large bunkers. It has a modest club house with numerous golf treasures on the walls. The membership policies are private and not known to the public. There are many folktales regarding how the members are selected but the reality is not known to the public and the media. It is said that if you are the best in golf, you will receive the invitation. The club does not change its membership policy, no matter who wants to join.

Pros and cons

Pros
a) The course provides the players with fun but difficult games
b) It has year around golf season
c) Availability of rental clubs and driving range
d) Cypress point club is famous for its best holes
e) It is a stuffy and ultra high class club
f) The course bordered by the ocean gives a striking appearance for the club.

Cons
a) It is not open to public
b) It is one of the most expensive courses in the world
c) Members have to pay even if they do not play in the course at all.
Summary
It is known as the best, the golf world can see. The course has aesthetic beauty, varying difficulty levels, private set of members, excellent course maintenance and wonderful game experience. If you are ready to spend a little more for a great game, then Cypress point club is the best choice.
AUGUSTA NATIONAL GOLF CLUB, AUGUSTA, GA - THE REVIEW

When a golfer ends up in the bunker, you can usually hear swearing all the way to the clubhouse. It's not that they are bad; it's just that they feel bunkers can defeat them.

There are a few hidden tips that not many people have caught onto yet. Here are a few hidden bunker busters that will make you wish that you knew this before you hit your first bunker.

Your first step is to imagine that the bunker is not your worst enemy. If you think the bunker is your worst enemy, you will fear them and this will have an adverse effect on your game.

So next time you land in one, don't just give up, hit the ball, and hope. That will get you nowhere. You will just end up taking another bunker shot; and the scorecard will increase with every shot you take.

Another important thing to keep in mind is your footing. Many people will simply allow their feet and legs to adjust to the sand. That is not the best thing to do; make the sand work for you by taking the time to establish your footing.

The next thing you should do is take a open stance and get relaxed. If you are comfortable on the tee, then why can't you be comfortable in the bunker?

After this, you will need to distribute your weight in a effective manner; usually more to the left-hand side is the best way to go when you are trapped in a bunker.

Now practice your motion. When swinging the club, move the same distance backwards as you do forward. Learn it and remember it: the shot in the bunker will always be tricky.

You should now prepare for the shot, but remember to hit the sand roughly two inches before the ball. This creates a scoop effect that will allow the ball to be played out of the rough instead of rolling straight into the same bunker.

You should also accelerate through the ball. This allows for more power in the shot and will give the ball that little bit of extra distance towards the hole.

Always remember that the sand is your ally, not your enemy. Don't fear the bunker and you will constantly surprise yourself with the one-shot bunker trick.
Online golf tips are on the increase.

This is hardly surprising because we are in the information age and virtually every kind of information you can think of has increased tremendously in quantity over the internet and continues to do so at a rapid rate.

The information age has had the effect of putting tremendous power in the hands of the individual by making huge amounts of information available on anybody’s desktop.

As long as that person has a connection to the internet.

This has come with its’ own disadvantages. One of them is that there are too many experts dishing out online golf tips that golfers often get confused and find it extremely difficult to tell who is a genuine expert on the subject and who is not.

Actually there are a number of things to look for before accepting online golf tips as being the sort that can be useful and beneficial to you and your game.

The first is the number of years that the person has been involved in the particular golf discipline that they are giving online golf tips on.

Have they been in it long enough to have written a book on the subject for example? Quite often a book confirms an experts depth of knowledge in their particular discipline.

The second thing to look at closely is the advice being given. Does it promise everything for nothing? Or does it promise that you will revolutionize your game by simply purchasing a certain golf product?

These are tell-tale signs that all is not well. Golf is an athletic sport these days and strength training plays an important role in helping golfers improve their game.

Many people hate even the thought of strength exercises, but that is the reality and even the genuinely good golf products that an expert will recommend in their online golf tip should involve some exercising effort from the golfer before they can enjoy the benefits of an improved game on the golf course.

You should be careful about the source of any online golf tip you receive.
Planning a golf tournament? Here are some tips to help you.

1. Select a good golf course and facilities that can accommodate all the needs that you have and make sure that their staff employees are likewise accommodating. Check with the employees and ensure that you tell them what you need and what you want to happen, especially if you plan on having an awards or some sort of ceremonies after the tournament. This is also the time you should think of the number of golfers that you would allow to compete. You may want to check the staff recommendations, especially if they have a record of golf tournaments in their place.

2. It might be great if you make an information brochure explaining and advertising the tournament in a clear and concise manner, with a format that is easy and relaxing to read. Put in a concise registration form along with the brochure.

3. You should not forget about getting tournament sponsors. Order early the course signage. It might take some time in getting all the logos you need for printing. Be sure that the tournament sponsors you got have first approved the publication materials before taking them for printing. Many tournament sponsors have very strict specifications about the use of their logos and expect you to follow the guidelines that they have.

4. Consider the goodie bags or giveaways in the tournament. You could give shirts, tees, hats, balls, among others. You could also keep a supply of sunscreen packets and bottled water. If you are giving awards, you should order the trophies early.

5. You can buy a database (or design if you can do one) for the registration process in helping you track the players you have as well as the team pairings.

6. Make sure that the golf staff is recognized easily. They should be easily distinguished with a special hat or golf shirt.

7. Do a short checklist of the things you need to finish or accomplish in preparation for your tournament. Try to do everything as early as possible.

8. Inform the players of the rules and requirements of the system. Make sure that they do have the necessary equipment or tools for play, such as score cards, balls, tees, among others.

9. Make sure that there is proper and enough nourishment at the tournament. There should be enough food and drinks available in the various points around and on the course.

10. Prepare for worst-case scenarios like course problems, injuries, etc.
Whether it's a Christmas golf gift for a serious golfer or a fun prize for the family reunion or company tournament, picking out a golf gift that is truly appreciated takes a bit of planning. Here are a few tips that will help you adjust your gift to the golfer's skill level.

The first thing to do is determine the skill level of the golfer who will receive the gift. A seasoned veteran of the game with a 4 handicap will probably place little value in instruction books or training aids that a beginner may appreciate. Similarly, the occasional golfer may not know how to use the high degree wedge you put in his stocking.

Here are a few suggestions, based on skill level:

For the beginner, a swing training video with some easy drills may provide an easy way to practice in the privacy of home or office. There are a wide variety of choices, professionally produced by professional trainers.

For the intermediate or occasional golfer, a hinged training club may be a good idea. I have found this type of device excellent not only for developing my swing, but something I reach for when my slice starts creeping back. It is designed for improvement, so it likely won't be resented as an insinuation that a swing needs improvement.

The experienced, low handicapper may be the most difficult to please. Of course, every golfer appreciates more quality balls and nice shirts. But if you want to get something special, sneak out to the garage or try to gain access to his or her locker at the club, and take an inventory of every club that is in his or her bag. Take this list to a golf shop, or access a shop online, and ask the pro there what is missing from this bag. Just about every golfer appreciates trying something new, whether it's a new high degree wedge, a new style of putter or something new in hybrid technology. Even if it's not used (you can always return it), he or she will appreciate the attention.

These are just a few ideas for something with a personal touch that will likely be appreciated. There are thousands of golf gift ideas, so perhaps you can apply the same logic, along with some creativity, and come up with your own great Christmas golf gift idea.
Golf video instruction can be a powerful tool in helping any golfer improve their handicap. Yet many golfers do not fully benefit from them. The reason is that their approach is wrong and they are therefore unable to benefit from the practical advice and tips received through golf video instruction.

Here I carry three tips to help you benefit and reap the full rewards from golf video instruction tapes.

A) Watch the whole golf video instruction tape to the end first and then slowly review it starting from the beginning. Quite as you enjoy watching the golf video for the very first time, most of the instructions and tips will hardly be remembered. Exactly the same thing happens when you read a book whose contents you want to retain. This is why it is very important to go through the golf video a second time carefully taking note of the all the instruction and tips. It is not a bade idea to record it all in a note book.

B) Apply only one golf video instruction tip at a time to your game. Usually you will end up with a huge volume of instruction and tips from the golf video. It is therefore advisable to apply one at a time, rather than try to apply several and when you do not seem to get any result, you simply abandon everything. This is exactly what most golfers do. Be patient and apply the tips one at a time. You will find that some do not work for you. Do not get discouraged, move to the next one and patiently work your way through your entire list.

C) Combine you application of the golf video instruction with a golf-specific exercise program. There are many things in golf which will be extremely difficult to apply to your game if you are not physically fit. Or at least golf-fit. Some techniques can even increase the risk of injury if you are not involved in any golf exercise program. Ensuring that you are golf fit is a very important requirement for reaping maximum benefits from golf video instruction tapes.
A better golf game is achievable by any golfer. It doesn’t matter what your age is, how good a player you are or how long you’ve been playing. But the key to a better golf game may not be what you think.

The ‘standard’ approach to a better golf game is taking lessons; buying more equipment; and hitting hundreds of golf balls at the range.

Although, the above approach is not altogether incorrect…there is one crucial missing element. That element is your BODY! You swing those fancy clubs; you hit all those balls at the range; and you physically participate in the aspect of taking lessons.

The common denominator is your body. Do you agree? If you don’t, I’d like to hear you’re explanation of why not.

If you are following me, and think I’m remotely correct, then why wouldn’t you work on your body to play a better golf game?

I’m constantly hearing golfers say they’ve taken lessons, bought new equipment and pounded hundreds of balls but still have not seen improvement.

That’s the telltale!

That leaves just one thing…YOU.

Don’t get me wrong…I firmly believe you need an understanding of golf swing technique, and golf equipment can help. But pounding balls just for the sake of doing it won’t help you play a better golf game.

Now picture this.

You do a few simple stretches and golf exercises daily and go out to play. You now realize you can make a bigger backswing with less tension; you have more clubhead speed enabling you to hit longer drives; and you are not worn out on the back nine.

Isn’t that worth the minimal investment in your time?

To play a better golf game…you’ve got to take a different approach than what you are currently doing. One that gets to the root of the problem. The one that’s causing those mishits and inconsistencies.

You will be amazed at your outcome if you take this approach. You will finally play a better golf game.
"It is simple, elusive, indispensable, without substitute or compensation and always present".- Homer Kelley

What is lag? We’ve all heard this term. Lag can be defined as, “trailing” or “following”. Golf Instruction tells us we need to have it but why?

In this article we will focus on “clubhead lag”. Clubhead lag promotes even and steady acceleration assuring dependable control of distance. An example would be a tour player hitting a shot. As the player starts their pre-shot the announcer tells us that the player has 193 yards to the flag and that they are going to hit a 6 iron. A 6 iron! A lot of players would love to hit their Driver that far!

In every good swing at the moment of Impact the clubshaft is leaning forward (toward the target). The hands are in front of the ball, and clubface, turning the 6 iron into a 5 or 4 iron. The average player arrives at Impact with the hands BEHIND the ball and the clubshaft either vertical or leaning backward. This ADDS loft and turns that 6 iron into a 7 or 8 iron! Do you play golf with someone that is always complaining that all of their irons go the same distance? These players have a backward leaning clubshaft.

The good players use a steady acceleration, the poor players over-accelerate. The hands reach maximum speed before reaching Impact and this one move dissipates all of the “lag”.

Here are some drills to feel, establish, and maintain clubhead lag.

What does “lag” feel like? It is exactly like dragging a wet heavy string mop through Impact. In this drill use a towel. Wrap the towel around the hosel of your club and place the clubhead on ground just outside of your trailing foot. Now try to use just your wrists to take the clubface to the ball. This move is difficult at best and the shaft will be leaning backward. Now replace the club but this time rotate your right shoulder downplane to the golf ball and toward "right field". You’ll notice a distinct sensation of dragging and a heavy pressure through the ball.

For the next drill you can simply take a piece of rope and hold it like a club. Go the top of the swing and allow the rope to rest on the top of your right shoulder. As you start down “feel” like the rope stays of the shoulder as you take your hands on a direct downward line to the ball, or a spot in front of the ball. This is called a “rope handle technique” in The Golfing Machine. As you can see, the “end” of the rope is “lagging” your hands.

The majority of golfers do just the opposite. They try move the clubhead with the wrists. This produces a “quitting” motion and the club moves upward toward Impact instead of downward.

A properly lagging clubhead produces a strong downward thrust which adds distance, trajectory, and consistency.

For a great drill use a duffel bag, pillow or Impact bag. Take the club back to waist high with the clubshaft parallel to the target line and horizontal to the ground. Now simply rotate the right shoulder downplane to the golf ball and toward "right field". This will bring the hands and body to Impact position and the club will be lagging!
Secrets of golf! Most golfers will do absolutely anything to improve their golf game and this is the reason why most are constantly in search of golf secrets to improve their game.

However this search, more often that not ends up in total failure. It all usually starts with lots of excitement when they discover some new aspect or tip they did not know before and they quickly practice and implement it into their game. Sadly the desired effect does not result and their game hardly improves. Still they continue with their desperate search of more golf secrets to improve their games.

The reason why they fail is simply the fact that they fail to appreciate the real secret of golf. The secret, which is guaranteed to revolutionize any golfer’s game, virtually overnight.

The real secret of golf, like most secrets of success, is so simple that it is easy to miss or even discard when you hear about it or read even read about it.

Here it is.

The real secret of golf capable of having a dramatic effect on any game is preparing and conditioning your body and muscles to take the punishment and strain that golf inflicts on it. That’s it.

Playing golf is not like walking, it does not come naturally. Even kicking a soccer ball comes much more naturally than a golf swing. The result is that the body resists the correct movements required to execute a perfect golf swing.

The most effective way of dealing with this resistance in the body is for you to condition and strengthen the muscles that are stretched and put under strain by the act of the golf swing.

If you do that successfully, the golf swing will come much more naturally and it will show in your game. Do not be cheated, there is no other more valuable secret of the golf game.
There is one golf tip that is used by most professional players and very few ordinary amateurs. It makes a real difference to your game.

One of the key differences between professionals and ordinary amateurs is that when the professional decides to take a golf tip on board he really works at it. I mean to say that he gives it a lot of thought and he stays with it for enough time to give it a chance to work.

The ordinary amateur on the other hand will hear a golf tip, give it a try and then probably discard it before they have given it a real chance.

One of the most commonly used golf tips employed by top sports people in all fields is the mind movie. They rehearse exactly what they are going to do in their mind before they carry out the action.

They use a mind movie as a kind of software program to tell their muscles what to do and how to feel during their swing. Then, when they step up to the ball, all they have to do is go on to auto-pilot and a good, well-grooved swing reproduces itself.

This is a golf tip anyone can use.

An important part of this golf tip is to program your swing properly before you make your mind movie. It's a bit like driving a car, you drive on auto-pilot, but you had to have some lessons when you first started to drive, then you had to practice until your program for driving became automatic. You can learn to do the same thing with your golf swing and get the same good quality results.

The easy way for an ordinary golfer to adopt this golf tip and achieve a correct and well-grooved golf swing is to develop a mind movie of their own. Then, simply by running this mind movie every time you step up to the ball you will set your well grooved swing in motion. This is what Jack Nicklaus always did.

You can get this golf tip and learn to build your own golf mind movie. Just go to the Google Internet search engine and type in the words 'golf mind movies'. There you will find a number of sites which will tell you how to develop a powerful and accurate golf swing that repeats even under pressure.
What are the seven magic keys to unlocking your golf potential? That question can’t be answered. You could spend a round of 18 just debating it. There are not seven specific tips, hints or secrets that are going to make you compete with Phil Mickelson or Tiger Woods. However, by taking note of these seven very practical, surefire tips, you will improve your game; and maybe you’ll find yourself smiling more as you approach the green on the 18th hole. Grab a pad and paper, or click print and add these few to your growing knowledge!

Mentality
No great athlete or gamesmen would hesitate to tell you that the vast percentage of success depends on your mental state. Are you focused? Are you playing for fun? Are you working a specific part of your game? Are you prepared? These are all questions worthy of asking yourself before you begin any round, or if you are simply hitting balls at the range. It is said that a mad player equals a bad player. Simply meaning, frustration will lead to bad play. Most people hoping to excel in certain events are often unaware of the level of concentration needed to find success. It is not only mentally, but physically exhausting to stay intensely focused on your game. Build upon your patience and mental toughness. There is no game that calls for it more than the game of golf!

Your Sticks
Once you’ve set your mind to the task, take into consideration your tools. Are you playing with the right clubs? Are they too short; too long? Are your grips too small? Playing with the improper clubs will lead to poor placement and a probable bad introduction of the club face to the ball. Those grooves in your irons are there for a reason! If you are hitting the ball with the toe of the club because you’re hunched over trying to take a good swing, it might be a good idea to slide a machete into your bag so you can hack through the jungle trying to find your ball.

Define Yourself
Without a doubt, every time you set foot on the links, you are coached by everyone and their uncle. Ignore it. You may want to consider it if they are a pro, but generally, they feel they’ve defined themselves and are going to impart their knowledge on to you. Just as easily as they may be teaching you quality, they will also help you develop some incredibly bad habits, hoping to improve your play in a scramble. Try different techniques and find your own game!

Utilize the Range
If you’re a beginner or feel a bit rusty, get back out to the driving and practice range. As a beginner, there is nothing that can turn you off more than paying for 18 holes and going through 36 balls. Hitting a little white ball with a piece of metal may sound and seem easy, but if you’ve done it once, you know, you need to do it a thousand times! Learn to hit and then play!

Don’t Over-analyze
I can’t tell you how many times a playing partner will step up to the ball and take practice swing after practice swing, getting their aim perfect, waiting on the wind and watching all four seasons pass by as everyone else is napping in the carts: Here comes the back swing...shank! The same player steps up to the next shot, not caring whatsoever, checks his lie, lines up, addresses the ball and pop! Within ten to the pin! Feel it, don’t think it.

Elements
In regards to play, consider your entire environment. If you have ever hit a ball on a windy day, you know how the wind can help or hinder you. If the ground is wet, stay out of the rough and keep your ball in play. If it’s a beautiful, warm summer day, take an extra towel to help absorb some sweat. And if it’s snowing, what are you doing on the golf course? Yes, it’s all common sense, yet commonly forgotten during play.

Take a Lesson
This is obvious. Find a pro you like talking to and pay them/barter with them for a lesson. They will do the analytical work and pass it on. It will offer you new perspective and will help you to improve on your own in the future!

Golf is a wonderful, social and solitary game. Enjoy the repetition of the skills you learn and all knowledge imparted to help increase your level of play. At some point, everything old will become new again. Greet it all with a smile and enjoy the constant challenge of chasing an impossible perfection! Maybe that’s the best tip ever.
Every avid golfer has got to be the sort of person who enjoys the game immensely. It has been proven that we tend to be very good at doings things that we enjoy doing and this should be no exception to the case of the avid golfer of today.

This also means that the avid golfer tends to constantly improve their game and handicap all the time.

This whole picture must seem like an impossible dream to the majority of amateur golfers struggling in courses across the country. Many have often left a game deeply humiliated and swore to themselves that they would never set foot on a golf course again. Sadly there are some who have kept to that vow they made to themselves.

In most cases their opponent was this avid golfer with a secret that has improved their game so much that there are able to easily run circles round an opponent, almost at will.

So what is this secret of most avid golfers?

It is simply preparing their bodies and the muscles in their body better for the game. Some of this preparation actually takes place in the comfort of the office or home.

These are specifically stretch exercises designed to improve on the golf swing and also helps to strengthen the back muscles for golf. Actually the truth of the matter is that a golfer who does not exercise will hardly stand a chance against an avid golfer who does.

Most avid golfers will do anything to improve their golf game, and it usually shows quite clearly in dramatic improvements on their game. Thus exercise and in particular golf-specific exercises do not frighten them.

Not that they should put terror into anybody. They are actually fairly easy to go through because they are being done by folks of all ages who are avid golfers.
The game of golf can be difficult when you consider all of the individual elements. Most golfers are overwhelmed with information regarding which tips will benefit their game and which ones won’t.

The most important aspects of the golf swing and the game, in general, all revolve around the building of a strong and solid foundation for the body, the mind and the basics of an athletic swing. Each of the following concepts plays a critical role in your understanding of what creates a great round of golf as well as contributes to a lifetime enjoyment of the game.

Stamina

Golfers tend to ignore the cardiovascular component of golf. However, walkers cover an approximate walking distance of 4-5 miles each round. Even cart riders put in their fair share of walking depending on local cart rules, weather conditions and following errant shots. Poor cardiovascular conditioning can certainly have a negative impact on your game.

Stability

The most important rule in a golf conditioning program is to work and develop strength from the core region of the body outward. A strong trunk allows forces to be transferred effectively from the legs to the upper body. It also enables the body to withstand those forces without breakdown. Stabilization comes in many forms for the golfer including postural stabilization, trunk stabilization and joint stabilization.

Strength

Strength comes in many forms with regard to the golf swing. Strong back muscles allow the golfer to endure the explosive movements in the swing. Strength in the trunk region or “core” area of the body produces stability and helps to generate power. Combined muscle strength produces balance and coordination. Strong ligaments and tendons also prevent the joints from going beyond their range of motion.

Supple

Flexibility is the single most important physical characteristic likely to influence your golf swing. A tight body creates restricted motion in the swing and produces injuries as a form of compensation. Keep your body “supple” so it doesn’t become a limiting factor in your performance.

Spirit

Attitude is everything! Many experts believe it is careful and premeditated preparation that allows a golfer to experience a mental edge in recreational or tournament play. What you say, what you think and how you act all contribute to your state of mind, and therefore contribute to the outcome of your game. Keep a positive and hopeful spirit when you play.

Sequence

The golf swing can be separated into five bio-mechanical phases that work in sequence.

• Set-up

• Backswing

• Transition

• Downswing

• Follow-through

A true understanding of proper body motion at each sequence will ensure consistency in your swing. Consistency is created through proper sequencing and solid mechanics.

Skill

Good swing mechanics is an absolute necessity in any sport and certainly, golf. The idea behind the golf swing is to create a simple and flowing athletic swing free of wasted motion and unnecessary compensations. To accomplish this, one must have the basis of some degree of skill. Work with a golf pro or read a book on swing mechanics.

Use these “secret 7” to make your next round, your best ever. Build a strong foundation for golf and for life when you follow these simple steps to improvement.
As a golf bio-mechanic, my focus is on looking for areas of poor flexibility and muscle imbalances which effect the mechanics of the golf swing and create opportunities for the body to break down in injury. Each of these situations presents possibilities for improvement in your swing as well as keeping the body in an injury free state.

When the body is out of balance, this means some muscles are shorter than normal and some muscles are longer than normal. When muscle length is less or more than optimal, swing mechanics are altered.

According to Paul Check of the Check Institute, there are five factors which influence the flight and destination of the ball.

- Club face alignment

- Swing plane

- Angle of attack/impact

- Club head speed

- Hitting the sweet spot

Unfortunately, many golfers experience limiting physical factors which prevent them from achieving accuracy and consistency regarding these five factors.

Here is an example of a common swing fault and how it may be affecting your current swing.

Tight hip flexors are a common reason for loss of distance off the tee in addition to limitations in achieving a full backswing because of restrictions in trunk rotation.

Short and tight hip flexors are a known source of lower back pain where the low back muscles tighten while hamstring and abdominal muscles lengthen. You see, everything has a cause and an effect within the body.

Tight hip flexors limit a golfer’s body in trunk rotation which ultimately leads to compensations at the shoulders, elbows and wrists. It is important to clearly understand where the chain broke down in the first place so corrective action can be taken. Follow these quick golf tips to restore optimal rotation in the joints which most affect the golf swing.

1. Contact a CHECK certified golf bio-mechanic for a personal analysis of your golf specific strengths and weaknesses.

2. Begin using exercises and stretches which primarily focus on your weak links.

3. Follow a continuum of flexibility, stability, strength, then power in developing your body for better golf.

If you want to improve your golf game nothing will get you on the right track more quickly than well formulated Mind-Movies. The good news is that you can at last get a really first class guideline on how to develop effective Mind-Movies.

A great deal is written about visualization in sport. A lot of it seems to center around the idea that what the sports person should do is visualize the result they wish to attain.

I do NOT agree with this.

I agree that it is a good idea to have objectives and targets and to visualize those objectives, but that it NOT the most powerful way to use visualization in sport, or indeed in any other area of your life.

In any aspect of our lives objectives only serve as a destination for your efforts. So it helps to visualize your golf ball nestling near the hole. But what gets you to that destination is the effort that you make and the quality of that effort. It is the quality of your golf swing that gets your ball next to the hole.

The real power of visualization is in its ability to guide your effort. Good visualization provides a guide line or template for the body movements necessary to a good golf swing.

Once you know what you’re doing you can create and produce a Mind-Movie of your golf swing in a matter of minutes. And you can make that swing as powerful, accurate and elegant as you want.

The other great beauty of visualization is that it gives you the ability to constantly hone and improve the Mind-Movie which is guiding your body and thus your swing. So you can get better and better as you rehearse your swing more and more in your mind.

And, because no-one else knows that you're working on your golf swing, you can practice in your mind anywhere you like and as often as you like. The new Golf Mind-Movies Power Pack recommends that you practice visualizing your golf swing as often as you can.

The trick is to learn how to write, direct and produce a good Mind-Movie which will guide your swing so that it becomes a powerful, reliable method of propelling your golf ball accurately to any target you choose.

Whether you are new to golf or an old hand The Golf Mind-Movies Power Pack will almost certainly improve your game in next to no time.

The fact that the beta trial version of The Golf Mind-Movies Power Pack sold out in just 19 hours bears strong testimony to the revolutionary effect that Mind-Movies are having on the games of many golfers. Golfing is typically played in different forms depending on the agreed terms between the competing parties.

These may come in two forms with corresponding rules to be played on and these are the match play and the stroke play.

In any given type of golf games, winning is determined by the fewer number of strikes before the ball gets into their respective holes. How you would be able to lower your golf score depends on how you strategize and effectively hit the ball to get it to the nearest holes you are trying to reach. But this objective makes it even hard for us due to a variety of reasons.

There are a couple of tips by which novice golfers could take advantage of in order to get away with the restrictions imposed by your physical infirmity and eventually lower your score in any given hole target.

1. Understanding the Physics of Golfing – Players may not be aware that golf gaming operates on several principles of physics.

A beginning golfer should understand that in order to achieve the least possible strikes before they get the ball into the winning holes, they must know how a golf ball with weight flies and cuts the air into trajectory motion before reaching the ground.

Being able to estimate the relative weight of the ball and the clubs being used will surely put you on a winning edge.

2. Physical Training – You must understand that golf is a type of physical activity and in order to perform a certain kinetic workout well, one must be able to handle and put together all the elements of bodily strength, endurance, and full coordination and balance and perform at your utmost potential. In short, one must be physically fit.

3. Take on That Ideal Swing – As an individual golfer, you must create your own unique swinging technique. You should learn to understand how you could best perform your drive and take on fewer strikes before reaching the hole.

4. Take on a Daily Routine – There is truth to the old cliché that practice makes perfect. However, it should be put in mind that proper practice in the right environment with the right experienced people around makes most of the difference.

5. Proper Mindset – Emotions play an important role in setting your goals to their completion. Body chemistry works in any physical activity such as golf games. If you are upset and worrying about anything else, leave it at that and start focusing on a playing mode.
Golfers have been trying hard to lower their scores by taking lessons, reading books and watching golf video lessons. This is definitely good and helps your game. What about playing position golf?

Golfing for position has been a serious method of golf for a lot of professional golfers. Every amateur should really consider playing position golf as one of the most important strategies for a good round of golf. You should consider rethinking your strategy before you take out your driver on every hole, and any other golf club.

Taking out your driver just because it is a natural thing to do on the longer holes can put you in a not so good position on your next shot. Playing position golf requires a series of questions to be answered, before you elect to choose a golf club on the tee box or fairway.

If you’re a right hand golfer who fades the driver all the time, and your teeing off on a dogleg to the right, you may want to rethink your choice of clubs, especially if it may put you in a blind position for your next golf shot into the green. When you’re playing those longer golf holes and you hit a straighter golf ball off the tee with a 3 wood, would it not be a better choice of clubs if you’re consistently fading or slicing your driver off the tee box? Of course it may be a little more golf club into the green on the next shot, by at least its not as hard as trying to control another faded golf shot into the green that you cannot see when your positioned alongside a pile of trees.

Another key factor on playing position golf would be the length of the golf hole. Let’s assume you’re going to play a par four and it’s 425 yards and your driver goes 240 yards on average. Taking everything into consideration, including wind and position on the tee box to the center of the green, and you’re left with 185 yards to the green. Now 185 yards into the green may be your favorite 4 iron, or it could also be the club you’re having trouble with the most. Dropping down to a 2 wood or a 3 wood off the tee box, may put you in a more favorable club selection position out on the fairway.

Another important part on playing for position on the golf course is choosing the club at hand for your landing area. Do I want an uphill lie on the next shot, or downhill lie? If I miss the green do I want to play my next shot from the back of this green or the front of the green? When I hit this green, do I want a downhill putt or an uphill putt? Of course being positive on hitting your attended landing area is the way to think, but leaving room for human error and an escape route can save you strokes.

By playing position golf, you get to utilize most of the golf clubs in the golf bag, and also help in getting familiar with each and every club. It only requires a little more thought before choosing a golf club that will help you knock strokes off of your scorecard. We always like to out drive our competitor, but out smarting our competitor is what counts in the end when you’re tallying up the strokes after eighteen.

Golf is not just about looking at the best golf club tip in town. There are also other factors that you should consider.

Stay relaxed

One of things that you should remember is so easy and simple to do but ironically, most golfers forget it. It is to relax. Although of course, for many people, relaxing is easier said than done, especially on the first round, since it brings intense pressure. This additional pressure will increase the heart rate of your body and will diminish your chances of having a great tee shot.

Focus on the breathing that you have before you go straight hitting the ball off. A few deep, long breaths would do the trick. The key point here is you should have the main focus on your shot.

Your wrists should not be used

When you are to hit your drive, it is of paramount importance to remember that your wrists and hands are not the ones giving you enough power you need in driving the ball. The power you need should come from your shoulders in your back swing, when you are winding the body up while you prepare for your down swing.

Any wrist movement could lead to inconsistent ball striking, leading to an inconsistent trajectory of the ball. Keep the wrists straight, and you will see how your drive has become more and more consistent and accurate.

In order for you to realize, visualize

Before you really hit the shot, stand some few feet, maybe about two to three feet, behind the golf ball and try to visualize how the ball would take the flight path you want. Visualize how the ball is going to take off, “watch” it in air and its landing place. This will dramatically increase the chances you have in putting the golf ball in the exact place where you prefer it.

Prepare what you need to prepare

Before you go straight hitting your target, make sure first that you have spent some hours practicing to get a sense of how to sing. Do not strike your first drive without you warming up. If you have no time anymore for hitting some practice balls, spend at least five minutes to warm up. Before you step on to the tee, make sure you have spent some time on the practice range, to get into the feeling of the swing. Never, ever, hit your first drive without warming up. Do some exercises. This will give you a more relaxed and flexible feeling.
If you’re just learning or taking up the game of golf, here’s the one tip that will lower your scores faster than any other tip on golf – putting. That’s right. Putting. No putting isn’t the sexy thing to do around the practice tee. It’s doesn’t draw a crowd around you like bombing 300 yard drives does, but putting is where you can immediately shave strokes off your golf game.

When I work with young people or anyone just taking up golf, I stress the importance of practicing and working on your game. I understand that it is only natural to want to go ‘hit’ the golf ball. It’s a great feeling to make solid contract on the ball and know for that moment in time that even the pro’s don’t hit it any better.

For this article, I’m not going to discuss the actual mechanics of putting, rather let’s discuss why your golf putting game probably deserves more focus that you give it and what you should do.

O.K. think about this (especially for you beginning golfers). I would venture a guess that given any round of golf, you probably putted at least one more time than necessary on each green simply because you don’t seriously practice your golf putting game. Easy math… that’s 18 strokes right there! Now you’re probably thinking I don’t loose a stroke on every putting green. I would argue that if you are a high handicapper that you do. Those three and four putt greens... and let’s be honest; you are probably pretty generous with those gimme distances aren’t you?

This alone should begin to give you the incentive to improve your putting game. The putting stroke isn’t fraught with mechanics that you have to learn like you do with a full golf swing. You only need one club to practice this part of your golf game. And with just a little consistent practice time on your golf putting, you can immediately start taking strokes off your game in bunches.

Here are a couple of putting tips and a mind set that I work with others on (and constantly work on with myself).

First when you are practicing putting work on two areas: your line and your distance control.

Putting line: start close to the hole and roll a putt in. When you make three putts in a row, back up about two feet and repeat. Do this out to a range of 8 feet. Initially keep track of how putts it takes you to work your way back to and complete the eight foot mark. Then, your next step with the four putting distances of 2, 4, 6, and 8 feet, is to give yourself 16 putts to complete your putting drill (this allows for one miss at each distance). As you improve, drop your allowable strokes to 15, then 14, and so on, until you reach perfection.

Putting distance control: Depending upon your skill level, begin putting from about 20 feet and repeat the same drill as above moving back 10 feet at a time, only this time you are allowed two putts to hole the ball from each distance. This drill ties into and complements the putting line drill very well. This drill will teach your distance control so you can confidently putt the ball within a distance from the hole that you know you already have a high percentage of chance of making because of the first drill you work on.

Here’s a mind set that you should always take to your actual round of golf. This is one that I used when I first starting playing golf and work with people still today.

I knew my golf game from tee to green would have many peaks and valleys before actually reaching the green. But here’s the personal game I played within myself when first leaning golf, and I truly believe it will work for you. Not matter how bad (or good) it is off the tee. No matter how long it takes you to get out of trouble. No matter what happens. Whether you get to the putting surface in regulation or twice regulation; here is your mind set. I am not going to three putt. I am going to re-focus, remember my drills, and have confidence in what I have practiced. And I am not going to three putt any golf greens today.

And finally, don’t short change your putting game. Putt everything out. I mean this. If you are serious about getting and staying better, putt everything out. No gimmes. Keep your putting game sharp. Don’t let it slowly deteriorate because your buddies let you pick everything up inside 3ft (or even more generous than that). If you do, you soon start giving strokes away when they count.
How many times, when you were struggling out there on the golf course, have you been offered a golf tip?

It seems that there are a whole bunch of golfers who just cannot help themselves from passing on their own personal favorite golf tips when they see a fellow golfer struggling.

For one friend of mine this got so bad that he actually refused to play with a particular golfer who always passed on golf tips whenever they played together.

The problem with the golf tip is that it only affects one small part of your swing. And the golf swing is a very complex series of movements that have to be carried out precisely, in a correct sequence and at a given speed. If the golf tip you are given upsets that sequence or throws another part of your swing out of its normal place it can have a disastrous effect on your shot.

The reason why I like Mind-Movies is that they string together, in the correct sequence, all the different positions and moves of a good swing. A good golf Mind-Movie is in effect a whole series of golf tips correctly strung together.

What I am saying here is that any single golf tip can damage your swing no matter how good that tip may be. Any golf tip you are given may be a perfectly correct part of a good golf swing but if that golf tip does not fit in with the rest of your swing it can spell disaster.

Smart golfers learn to visualize all the different bodily positions in their golf swing. They then groove those pictures into their mind in the form of Mind-Movies. These Mind-Movies show them exactly what they have to do in order to swing the club in a way which consistently produces long and accurate shots. Then, when they’re ready to play, all they do is run their Mind-Movie and let the movie send precise what-to-do instructions to the different parts of their body.

The trick with Mind-Movies is to build them correctly and then groove them into your mind so that you can see them whenever you need them. Then, if someone offers you a golf tip you can check it out against the pictures in your mind before deciding whether it will be likely to improve your swing.

It took me a lot of time and a lot of trial-and-error to learn to do program my Mind-Movies correctly. But once I’d mastered the art it had a magical effect on my game. In my e-book The Golf Mind Movies Power Pack I describe in detail how to install a golf Mind-Movie which will quickly get you playing more consistent golf.

If a golfer you know is suddenly hitting the ball further and straighter it is probably not because of some simple golf tip or because they have purchased the latest big, big, great big enormous driver or a new set of irons; it is far more likely that they have pieced together a whole set of golf tips into an effective golf Mind-Movie that works for them.
It is perhaps the supreme irony in golf that the simplest shot in the book seems to cause the biggest problem to the largest number of golfers.

Let's face it, the putt is the only golf shot that it is really possible to execute flawlessly without any tuition at all. We all start off doing this as kids. Some of us are even superb at it at this young age. It is this shot that is often the spur that leads to a lifelong addiction to this wonderful game of golf.

What then, goes wrong? How can this easiest of golf shots become the absolute bane of an adult golfer's life? Sorry to say, there is no easy answer. Experts are just as baffled as inexperienced amateurs over this one. The saying 'it's all in the mind' was probably never more true than in this golfing case.

Several years ago, an American company developed a golf putting machine. They carried out tests in optimum putting conditions and were gob-smacked to discover that their pride and joy couldn't hole every putt. They took that machine apart and tweaked every element of it until they were certain that it was in perfect working order. And, guess what? It still failed to hole some putts. If this doesn't go to prove that there is at least an element of 'black art' about golf putting, then nothing will.

The best lesson to take from the above is that you really never are going to achieve putting perfection. If a machine in perfect working under operating under perfect putting conditions fails to hole every golf putt, then a human being with all his or her imperfections never is.

So, the first rule is, stop giving yourself such a hard time whenever you miss a few putts. It happens to even top professional golfers. In fact, any problem you have with putting is much more likely to be psychological than physical, so the very last thing you should be doing is getting down on yourself mentally; this can only make matters worse.

Is there anything you can do if you really do have severe, regular putting problems? Well, apart from working on the mental side of things to inculcate strong belief that you really can putt (try some self-hypnosis tapes etc.) the best advice is to see if a change of putter will do the trick. Take your lead from the professionals. So many professional golfers who've suffered terribly from the 'yips' on the putting green, such as Bernhard Langer, found their salvation in the broom handle putter - maybe you should give one a try.
In all sports, it is essential that you warm up properly to attain the best performance. If you go to any professional or even amateur sporting event, you will see competing athletes doing pre-game warm-ups. Golfers, especially those in the professional level, are not different from them. When tour professionals are about to begin their first tee, they would have made full warm-ups to be able to make their best swings.

However, most amateurs have their “warm-ups” done by racing from their autos to the shop and check in, then dashing to their first tee, in just about five minutes. Most of the time, this is followed by an unsteady and inconsistent play for the first holes, ending up with another lackluster round. The result: Disappointing golf scores.

Here are some tips for you for improving your golf score.

• First, go to the golf course as early as possible. You need time in taking care of your matters in the shop, in using the restroom, changing clothes and shoes, among others. It is crucial that you do not feel pressured or rushed, allowing you to get warmed up at a relaxed pace. Remember that your warm-up time sets your mood and tempo throughout the day, so just relax and move slowly. A minimum of an hour or two before you begin hitting your first tee would probably help you get a nice and relaxed warm-up.

• Start your warm-up routine at the putting green. By spending some time on warming up on the green, you will be ready for the speed of the greens. More importantly, you will start up your day with a nice, deliberate, and smooth tempo.

• Spend about 10 minutes or so trying to hit the chips around the green using a tee as your target. First test the greens’ firmness to see how much or less the golf ball will roll. In general, the ball tends to move more on hard greens than the soft greens. In addition, there are various kinds of rough which make the ball move differently when it touches the green. Spending some time around the green helps you to have some thoughts on choosing the great greenside shots during your round, and also, the spots where you are landing the golf ball on the putting surface.

Remember: If you do not get enough warm-up, you should not expect to have an optimal performance, and consequently, a good golf score.
Improve your golf performance. Is that always on your mind? When you go out to golf you’re hoping for a good round. I know I do.

How often does your outcome match what you hoped for? Do you usually shoot the scores you had envisioned before you teed off? If not, do you ever evaluate where and how you could have saved strokes and avoided those blow up holes?

I’ve got 5 easy tips for you to implement immediately that will improve your golf performance by shaving 4-6 or even more strokes off your score the next time you play. Give them a try and see what happens. Here they are:

1. First off you’ve got to put the proper fuel in your body before you leave home. Most golfers don’t give it a second thought. They either don’t eat at all before they leave home or they eat something that is not going to give them the long-term energy they’re hoping for.

So whether it’s lunch or breakfast before you leave you need to consume a complex carbohydrate and a good protein source. This combination will warrant the best use of your energy for the long haul.

An example for breakfast would be a bowl of oatmeal and a couple of eggs with a piece of fruit or a juice. For lunch you could have a turkey sandwich on whole wheat with a piece of fruit. Lot’s of lettuce on the sandwich and try to avoid mayonnaise or butter.

2. The second tip is to properly warm up your body before you even hit your first ball. I see so many golfers show up 5 minutes before tee time, hack a few balls and head to the first tee. Those golfers are headed for a double bogey right off the bat - but hey they’re just getting “warmed up” right?

A better approach is to give yourself at least 30 minutes before your tee time. First do some dynamic (movement oriented) stretches to prepare your body to perform.

Things like arm circles, partial squats, toe touches, etc. Then take some half swings with a 7 iron. Now after that you’re ready to hit some wedges. You’ll find with this approach your hits on the range will be much better, which will build your confidence.

3. Drink lots of water even before you leave your house. Try to consume up to a gallon of Water before you get to the course. This will help you absorb and digest your pre-game meal and hydrate your muscles for optimal performance.

Don’t take this lightly.

Dehydration causes energy loss, lack of focus and concentration and fatigue later in the round. And remember, that’s before you even come to the course. Once you get their you should be drinking water every hole.

4. Don’t wait ‘til you get tight to stretch on the course. You should be constantly moving your body and stretching your joints while you play. I see and hear too many golfers complaining of tight lower backs or shoulders during the round, What amazes me is that with all that complaining they do nothing about it.

Why?

Think of your body as a machine. If the machine starts to break down – fix it. I mean stretch those areas while you’re playing. You’ll see a big difference in your swing mechanics late in the round.

5. Snack while you play. No I don’t mean the full meal at the turn with a beer. I mean bringing fruit and nutrition bars to eat every 4-6 holes. When you supply your body with the proper nutrients your energy levels stay balanced and you will avoid those mental lapses late in the round.

How many times have you had a good score only to blow up late in the round? I’ll bet more than a couple of times. I know I have. Treat your body like a Ferrari not a Ford Pinto.

These tips if applied, will definitely improve your golf performance!

Any golfer who has made any effort to improve their golf game will have already heard the often-repeated expression that golf is all in the mind and that the game starts there.

But what many golfers do not know is that they fail to improve their golf game because their minds are not prepared for what they must do to make significant progress.

Mention the word ‘exercise’ to most amateur golfers and rather than getting enthusiastic about using it to improve their golf game, they will start seeing images of heavy sweating from rigorous exercises. The sort of rigorous exercises that super athletes in the NFL or NBA have to do regularly in some gym.

Their minds are tightly shut to the idea of exercises such that they can never get to the point where they can examine the subject deeper to find out what sort of exercises professional golfers do to improve their golf game and maintain the quality of their performances as much as possible.

These golfers will not have heard that senior citizens, some of them in the advanced age category of 80 years old, have successfully undertaken golf-specific exercises. The result has been that their golf games have improved tremendously.

Surely an 80 year olds' physical condition will not take the sort of exercises many amateur golfers fear and want to avoid. So these golf exercises are not what most amateur golfers think.

Unless a golfer is prepared to approach the subject with an open mind, it will be very difficult for them to improve their golf game. While the mind is a very powerful tool, having a body that is physically prepared will produce the best results from a golf mind set on winning. To really improve your golf game you need to start with an open mind.
