"MMA is spanking the WWE as far as the pay-per-view stuff. Dana White and the UFC has done an amazing job, and it's all about timing. The UFC was ready to close its doors, they were losing a ton of money, they were going under, they were getting ready to go out of business, and then they did a reality show called The Ultimate Fighter. They developed the characters; they made people care about the fighters; the people found out who the fighters were; they breathed life into the fighters. That's what I want to do with TNA. They've got the best talent in the world down there, but no one is breathing life into the characters. I have learned a ton of stuff from MMA, watching them. They remind me of TNA. Ton of talent, but no one has put that Frankenstein, shock the monster, breath some life into the characters. I learned a ton from MMA, and I get along great with Dana White -- he's awesome."

Dana White should be recognized even more for the business that he is. Somethings I think what he has done is under appreciated. MMA is going nowhere but up in the future!

If I play my game and I be relaxed, and listen (to my corner) through the whole thing, I won’t, I hope there won’t be no problems because he is a good fighter, but his stand-up game is not in my league. For sure I’m going to knock him out. I do MMA to knock somebody out, because then you know you won. He’s on the ground. He’s sleeping, you’re standing, and it’s better than after two rounds the judge says to tell you who is better. If I knock him out then I did my job and nobody can say anything."

Should be a great fight. I dont think that Dos Santos is out of his league though, but I do think he is the underdog. Looks like we will have to wait and see this weekend if Yvel is back up the trash talking.

Marcus Davis might be getting another chance!

Word on the street is that Marcus Davis and Phil Baroni will be meeting up at UFC 111 in Newark, New Jersey. Although this seems like a good fight on paper, I think that Marcus's skill are far better then loud mouth Baroni's. There is a lot more to his game then just his stand up. I guess I'll just be keeping my fingers cross that this match up happens.

Cerrone knees in the nuts and takes home victory

Donald "cowboy" Cerrone man handled Ed Ratcliff last night in the WEC 45 main event. There only one problem though, Cerrone SMOKED Ratcliff in the nut sack 3 times with big knees. I mean I don't think he did it on purpose and I really do think that Cerrone would have beat him regardless, but that would be hard to fight after your nuts took that much of a beating. Toward the end of the fight Cerrone was toying with Ratcliff as if he was fighting an amature. He knew he had to knock him out or submit him because of the points Herb Dean took away for the nut shots and he still waited till the last few minutes to slap on a rear naked with ease. Cerrone has a real future in the WEC 155lbs class if he can stay away from every ones balls.

UFC 108 replacement had to get replaced

Looks like the plague of UFC 108 fighters getting injured isn't over yet. Sean Sherk had to bow out of the upcoming fight due to a Diego Sanchez size cut on his forehead. You know its bad when someone who came in to replace an injured fighter, has to pull out because of an injury. Duane Ludwig is stepping in in his place to fight Jim Miller. When will it end??

Sad news for the ring girls!!

Looks like we won't have much of a variety for eye candy anymore. Logan Stanton and Natasha Wicks have been fired as ring girls. How much could they possibly have been getting paid where it would matter to keep them on the pay role. I mean look at them, what good reason could Dana have to letting them go. They are only there for being nice to look at and I think they do a pretty good job at that. Oh well looks like we won't be seeing them anymore at any upcoming events.

James Toney (72-6-3, 44 KOs)some 41 yr old fat "legandary" boxer thinks that he can hack it in the world of MMA. Funny isn't it? I love how boxers think that they have a chance in MMA just becaue they are good in ONE of the disaplines. Do they relize that MMA isn't disgustingly one deminsional like boxing?? I hope that he does try MMA so he can get smashed and relizes boxing isn't enough anymore. Check out the he said to FightHype.com:

"Chuck Liddell seemed uneasy with me being at UFC 107. I met up with Dana. He was cool and said we could do business. We exchanged numbers and I texted him all night, but I was sitting behind Chuck Liddell and I could tell he was uncomfortable with my presence. I think I can break records with the UFC. Well not really, but it looks like Frank Mir and Shane Carwin in talks for a interim title bout at UFC 111 in late March. Nothing is set in stone yet, so I will keep you guys updated once I find out for sure.

He seems to think that because Matt Serra basically won the Lottery by beating GSP, that he could beat him too. He is obviously smokin crack or something good. It was a 1 and a million shot that Matt Serra world beat GSP and somehow he managed to do it. Dan Hardy is going to get stomped, most likely in the first round and its going to be AWESOME to watch. Mark my words, if Hardy beats GSP I will make a post about how much I love Hardy and that he is the best fighter of all time. Those of you who have been reading my blog will know that doing that will just about kill me. Here is a quote the dumb ass said to Sherdog.com:

UFC 108 "The Replacements"

That's seriously what they should name UFC 108. Three fighters (Tyson Griffin, Carlos Condit, Rory Markham) have pulled out of UFC 108 because of injuries. Soon enough I'm going to be getting the call from Dana saying he needs someone to fight at 108. We still got 20 more days for more fighters to pull out so lets see how long this card stays the way it is.

Last nights PPV raked in enough viewers to give $65,000 to the "of the night" awards. Here are the winners:

DaMarques Johnson - Submission of the night (up kick that led into a triangle)

Alan Belcher and Wilson Gouveia - Fight of the night

TJ Grant - Knock out of the night (didn't see it because it wasn't on TV, but I guess it was a good one)

I thought that the Penn vs Sanchez was a pretty good fight too, but then again every fight on the main card was a good fight. This UFC was definitely worth the $45 bucks I had to dish out to watch it.

Mir explains that he basically got lucky that Kongo is horrible on the ground because of his over reaction to the knock down. UFC.com explains:

"I knew I had the capability of beating (Kongo) based on what I could do in sparring. It's just something I had to make sure crossed over. It's something we've been saying the whole training camp. We call it "The Pacquiao," because (Manny) will step off as a southpaw and throw the overhand left. As soon as I hit him I went to catch him with the uppercut and I didn't see him, he was on the ground. I charged him a little too aggressively, I should have passed and established the under hook. Instead he was able to rotate and get back to his knees for a takedown which could have been a major mistake on other opponents like Cain (Velasquez) or Shane Carwin. But instead he gave me his neck and I train with Robert Drysdale on a daily basis. If I get someones neck in the heavyweight division, it's over with."

I don't feel that Kongo was a test at all for Mir, but merely a stepping to stone his next big fight. This is the first time that I really believe Frank Mir has a future in the heavyweight division. This is of course if he can continue to pack on some muscle to content with the BIG boys.

Bj Penn just put on a class for all the other 155 pounders. There was not a single weak part of his game tonight. Plus, he had Joe Rogan just about hangin off of his balls the entire fight. Im am extremely impressed with BJ Penn and I honestly can't think of someone right now that should or could face him.

Jon Fitch vs. Mike Pierce - Fitch by KO

Kenny Florian vs. Clay Guida - Guida by TKO

Paul Buentello vs. Stefan Struve - Struve by Subission

I feel pretty confident in these picks. I took a lot into consideration for each and I'm feeling good about them. Anyone disagree with me??
