Last week I went shopping for a new bra. Reason: I put the old one in the washing machine and I took out something unwearable. And handwashing is NOT fun.

It’s too late for my “victim”, but maybe future innocents can be saved. The BraBall is a life (or bra) saver. If you just stretch the bra over the plastic mesh, the padding will keep its original shape and the wires won’t poke out, even on a spin cycle. It can hold 1 to 3 bras, with cup sizes 32-36 AA, A, B and C.

A bit pricey, but if it saves me the trouble of shopping and allows me to wear some favorite underwear for longer, it’s totally worth it.

You want this. For some unfathomable reason, I am sure you want this.

Bobble heads have always been annoying, but stick Vader on something and it becomes uber cool. So, yeah, the Darth Vader Bobble Head will soon be sitting on your monitor, looking down on you. Unless you have a laptop and you’ll be forced to find another convenient location.

There’s no way to stop you, so enjoy him. And don’t forget to poke him from time to time to bobble - that’s what he’s made for, right?

Lighting fires or cigarettes in the wind is at best difficult and at worst impossible. Or maybe I’ve just had really crappy lighters…

It might just be my lack of skills in the end, but a bad lighter doesn’t help. And something you get at the corner store for $1 is definitely not high quality. Now, a Zippo… The Zippo “Outdoor Utility” OUL Lighter, with a wind-resistant dual flame and water-resistant cap, sounds like the perfect tool for the job. It’s also got a LED light (which can be useful if you’re trying to get a fire going at night), a lanyard and it’s child proof.

It’s got pretty much everything covered, you only need a camping trip to test it out.

R/C Mini Cars

I really like miniatures, so these R/C Mini Cars interest me from that point of view. They are small and they look ok, without being extraordinary.

The storage method is unique, I’d say: each comes inside a ball, which also also the controller (four sports to choose from: basketball, baseball, soccer, tennis). The balls are equipped with lanyards, so it’s pretty obvious this is aimed at kids - I hope no adult would actually wear a basketball round their neck. So, as far as toys go, this is a pretty funky one. The little ones can collect all four and then race them with friends.

Lid Punch

I have a small problem with the next product: I can’t decide if it’s very stupid or very smart.

It’s called the Lid Punch and, of course, it punches lids. To be exact, it pokes a hole through a jar lid, releasing the vacuum seal and making the jar easy to open. After you’re done, you use one of the included ceramic magnets over the hole to seal it back.

There’s probably dozens of alternate methods of opening a jar - turn it upside down and smack its bottom, force the lid open with a knife, call your boyfriend/husaband - and they don’t require buying an extra implement. However, if you don’t have a lot of strength in your arms and there’s no one to help you, or if you are tired of the alternate methods (which, admitedly, take longer)… it’s less than $10, you might as well have it around.

At this rate, in a couple of months I’ll be powering everything through my USB ports… and I’ll need to buy one of those hubs, finally.

The latest USB powered item I’ve seen is the Versatile USB Battery Turbo Charger. A battery charger is an absolute must to me, without it I’d have a dead camera, and traveling without a means of taking photo is a big no-no. This USB charger from A4Tech can charge both AA and AAA batteries, so it’s the perfect thing to take along for your camera, mouse, even mp3 player. I hate buying normal batteries that only last for a couple of days, so I am a big fan of rechargeables.

Most people wouldn’t want to do experiments on themselves… but there’s always a couple of curious cats. And I’m tempted to be one of them… at least it looks harmless.

The Miracle Fruit Tablets are supposed to make sour things taste sweet. Lemons are supposed to taste like toffee, vinegar like treacle, and a Guiness will seem a stouty, chocolately shake. Exactly why you would want to do this I don’t know, but it made me very curious. It could make for a very fun party, at least. Or you could give them to your guests when you messed up the food, then blame all the funny tastes on the poor tablets…

Graduate Hats

I enjoyed my graduation ceremony, although I don’t think graduating was so much of a big deal. But the silly cap… good during the event, never to be worn again.

This being sad, I hope I never see someone wear one of these Graduate Hats. While a mortarboard belongs in a certain ceremony, this… thing is just stupid. It might make a decent graduation prank gift, but the poor person would have to cut off its tassel to maybe wear it without embarassment… though I doubt anyone could walk around with “graduate” on his/her head and not feel embarassed.

And, if you feel you have to tell the world you finished university, you have a self-confidence problem.

A small house and a cat can be tricky to accomodate. Your pet needs enough space for her, ahem, private business, but you need the space too, you can’t jump over the litter box every morning.

Since getting a new apartment or letting go of the cat aren’t an option, the next thing to look into is arranging the available room in a better manner. The Catty Corner Litter Box can save you some space: it’s designed to sit in a corner, thus taking up less room, but it’s large enough for your cat to be satisfied. I also appreciate the top and flap door a lot, I used a similar box (for a cat, not for me, obviously) and I would never go back to the other type.
