Here are Hazel and Megan sleeping on Mommy. Hazel loves her little sister (and LOVES being a big sister...."I am SUCH a big sister"). So far, any time Megan's eyes are open Hazel says she is smiling, and runs in every morning asking "is Megan smiling?"... !

This was probably the first and last time that they were both asleep at the same time (during the day at least) but at least we have a picture to remember it!!

Here she is everyone!! At long last, the first posting of our new little girl Megan!
This is her first photo shoot when she was only one day old. She weighed 7 pounds 9 oz and was born March 17th (six days after her sister's birthday!)

Well, here we are at Hazel's 3rd birthday party!! (Hazel is big on princesses right now!)

Hazel's Birthday is March 11th, but the party was on the 15th (thanks to Megan for waiting to come until 2 days later!)

....and yes I made the cake, and only half the icing got on my big belly!

Well, although you might know that I posted all of these pictures in May (yes... Hazel's little sister will soon be blogged!!... thanks for being so patient!) I thought we should try to show what's been going on for the last six months, so here is what Mommy (very pregnant) and Hazel did on New Year's Day while Daddy was skiing in Whistler with his Mom, Dad and Sister!!

Don't worry, we stayed with MY Dad and Ann for a few days so I wouldn't have to do everything on my own!!

Here is Hazel at her very first Santa Claus parade. Right now she is more interested in her hot chocolate than anything, but she really loved the marching bands and Santa of course!

Here is Hazel, on her first day of nursery school. Hazel goes for 2 hours, two days a week, and she loves it! It was strange to hear her sing 'Farmer in the Dell' and 'Yellow Submarine' for the first time, because we hadn't taught them to her!!

Algonquin Park!

At a little less than two and a half Hazel has pasted her first Canadian test. She's paddled a canoe in Algonquin Park (learning to skate, shoveling snow, and winter driving are some of the other Canadian trials she still has left). In late August she spent a couple of days with Nana, Opa, Auntie Erika, and Mommy and Daddy at Arowhon Pines Lodge in Algonquin Park. We hiked, we canoed, we swam, and generally had a very good time.

Hazel has never had more fun in her life, than when her (Mommy's cousin's kids') new favourite friends Todd and Bonnie came to visit for Grandad's wedding. Everybody came to visit and have an amazing time spent going to the zoo, the science centre and Toronto Island. Here are The 3 (really cute) Amigos on the zoo-train having a great time!

This year, Hazel has a brand new (step) cousin to play with. Since Grandad has found love and is getting married in May (to Ann), Hazel (and the rest of us) gets a whole new family to meet and play with (and a new step-dog!!). Here are Hazel and Talia enjoying their first shared easter egg hunt!

This is a favourite pass-time of Hazel's. If you're wondering why it has been so long since Hazel's blog has been updated, well... we've been busy!!

We have finally finished all the walls in our house! Nothing else (for the forseeable future) will be ripped out or put up! Only regular things like painting, lights etc. Ahh...

Hazel is (was) 2 years old on March 11th. She is a great kid. She can spell her name and knows all the alphabet. In April when this picture was taken, she could 'sign' almost the whole alphabet. She will have to be some kind of 'alphabet expert' one day!

She's talking a lot these days and has been loving time spent with friends and family...

February can be a cold time in beautiful Canada, so it's best to spend your time indoors working on your personal style. This is a photo of Hazel doing just that. This was the first time she allowed Mommy to put pigtails in her hair, she added the glasses herself. A fashion diva is born.

Winter took its time arriving in Toronto, so the family followed the snow out to Whistler, and guess what? Hazel just had to climb that podium again!

What do you do on the first day of the new year? Well you take your little girl down to Lake Ontario to watch a bunch of crazys go swimming. That's right, Daddy and Hazel enjoyed a beautiful day down at Sunnyside Beach watching the annual Polar Bear Dip.

Excellent question! This is a photo of Auntie Erika's car, and it happens to be the subject of Hazel's first three word sentence.

There it was sitting in Nanna's and Opa's garage over the holidays and Hazel pointed to it and said, "Eku's Blu Yar!" A loose translation from Hazelese to English goes something like this:

Eku = Erika
Blu = Blue
Yar = Car

Hazel has been saying all these words separately for quiet awhile, but they all came together on this fateful date.

The home renovations have been slow, but that's no fault of Hazel's. Everyday she gets up at the crack of dawn, puts on her dirty old jeans, pulls up her tool belt and gets to work. Whether it's fixing the latch on her bedroom door, installing a new roof, or painting the front foyer, no job is too big for this little contractor. Just wait until she's old enough to be licensed...

All I do is fix things around here.

Mommy has really been encouraging Hazel's creative side, and finger-painting seems to be the preferred method of expression. When she's on, Hazel can churn out dozens of paintings in a sitting.

Here is Hazel knocking on her first (and only) door while trick or treating this Halloween!

This is a neighbour's house (who always wants to give her cookies), and let's just say that Hazel had very little trouble with the whole 'trick or treating' concept!!.....I said go and knock ("nah nah nah") and you can have a cookie ("goookie!") for Halloween .... easy!

Hazel had a wonderful lion costume given to her by a friend a Mommy's work, but it kind of scared her.... so she went as a junior contractor..... toolbelt and all!!

Here is Hazel on her way to a nice Thanksgiving dinner (Canadian Thanksgiving was October 9th this year).... with her Mommy, Daddy, Grandad, Uncle Peter, Auntie Erika, and her great grandmother 'Nonna'.

Grandad (Angie's Dad) is the only person in the family that we know has Hazel eyes... lucky choice of name I guess!!

Yes indeed, Hazel turned 1 1/2 years old in September, and she's loving everything about life it seems!! She is very happy and runs around constantly... very busy indeed! She says about 25 words, although Mommy is the only one who can understand 50% of those!!

Hazel loves Music ("meemo") and loves to conduct her orchestra and march in our own marching band, and we go to music classes (singing and dancing in a circle) every week.

Hazel loves shoes, and hats ("hays") and makes sure every one else is wearing theirs before she gets her own. She also loves cars ("yars") and even has her own in the back yard.

She is already getting her 2-year molars and so we're back to drooling, and she finally has hair long enough that she plays with her own instead of Mommy's.... (see perpetual self-made curl on left side of head in most pictures). She will eat almost anything, her favourites being "brio, pata, peeee, cackoooo and ryeeee" ....read broccoli, pasta, peas, crackers and rice. Also she eats parmesan cheese by the spoonful... yummm.

She sleeps exactly 12 hours every night and still naps for about 2 hours in the afternoon..yippee!
She weighs about 23 pounds and is 32 inches tall. Yay for Hazel.

Hello!! Yes this picture may say it's from August, but we all know that it's been months since anything new has been posted... and we're sorry!! We love that other people actually want to see pictures of our favourite girl, so finally we've settled down in our house, finished floors have kitchens and will be better about sharing everything that Hazel does!!!
