There are mainly 2 types of VR headsets - Tethered n Mobile

Tethered are those which are connected to high end PCs and they have their own displays while Mobile ones are those which use smartphones for their display and processing power.

So cost varies as per this differentiation and also as per lens qualities, how many controls headsets are providing like IPD, embedded headphones, comfort etc. On the basis of all this and on my research, I am suggesting headsets in 3 categories -

High range
In this category mostly expensive headset comes with top quality stuff i.e. mainly tethered devices like-

Oculus rift
Htc Vive

Among these, HTC vive is best VR experience wise.

Mid range
Here mobile based VRs come -

Samsung gear VR
Procus Pro and its earlier version - it is as good as Samsung gear and much cheaper in price.
Converge VR - this is also Google daydream (described at the last) compatible.

Lower range
Here Google cardboard compatible VR comes. These are also mobile based but way more cheaper. Cardboard is a platform rather than device. It suggests some standards which can be followed for cheaper VR experience but it is just good for sneak preview of VR and for advanced experiences you should consider above 2 categories. Some good devices compatible to this standard are suggested below -

Many DIY kits are also available for assembly which are more cheaper like in 180-200 INR bucks.

Just FYI - at last I/O, Google announced one new VR platform - daydream which is one step ahead to current Cardboard platform. It will be released by Nov 2016 with compatible headsets. It is believed to be significant step by Google in VR space and it will be worth watching what Google brings in terms of cost vs experience.

One Plus 3 vs Galaxy S7 - In short

One plus 3 is worth buy in INR 27999

I am not going to give you details here about it as every other site is writing about it. Like one is given below which has shown good comparison with other high end phones -

Overall, this is good competition for other high end phones in the markit like Galaxy S7, LG G5. Everyone like Verge and NDTV has given it 9 rating. It has only following 3 major differences with Galaxy S7 and you can live without those -

S7 is water resistant and One plus 3 is NOT.
One plus 3 doesnt have micro SD card slot while S7 has. But One plus 3 has got 64 GB internal memory that is pretty good.
S7 has higher resolution than One plus 3 (it has 1080) and you know higher resolutions make the phones heaty.

So as you see, for such differences this is your choice only if you want to shell out more approx. 30K bucks for S7. Please let me know how you find my precise n short comparison.

Moto X - The newest member of the Motorola family is squarely aimed at delivering more in terms software, camera, and design without compromising on performance.

Design

The Moto X features a body made out of PET composite, a durable plastic; although feels rugged and is surprisingly lightweight. At 130 grams, the Moto X is also lighter than the Moto G (143 grams). The Moto X's front panel is dominated by a 4.7-inch screen. the Moto X is easy to hold and use with a single hand. Moto X has also used a nano-coating that acts as light water repellent. This does not make the Moto X a waterproof device, but it does protect the smartphone from light splashes of liquids.

Features and software

1.7GHz dual-core CPU is coupled with a quad-core Adreno 320 GPU, and what Motorola calls a 'natural language processor' and a 'contextual computing processor'. The purpose of these dedicated application processors is to allow the Moto X to constantly listen for voice commands and manage notifications without wasting power. It comes with 2GB of RAM onboard, and there is 16GB of inbuilt storage, out of which only 11GB is user-accessible. Sadly, like most Google devices, the Moto X does not support expandable storage. The Moto X features a 4.7-inch AMOLED display with resolution of 720x1280 pixels and offers a pixel density of 316ppi. The company has also used Corning Gorilla Glass on the device to give it strength.

The Moto X is a single-SIM phone with 3G but no LTE support. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.0 LE, Wi-Fi 802.11a/g/b/n/ac, GPS/AGPS, EDGE/GPRS and 3G (HSPA+). The Moto X comes running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean; however the company rolled out an update to Android 4.4.2 KitKat in November last year. Much like Google's Nexus devices, the Moto X uses a stock build of the operating system, without any additional UI skinning.

The Moto X features the revamped Phone app that now automatically prioritises contacts based on how often you talk to them. Motorola preloads two other major apps on the Moto X. Motorola Migrate can help move the contents of an old Android phone to your new Moto X. Motorola Assist allow users to silence the device while sleeping or driving.

The Moto X features Touchless Control. Touchless Control means "Moto X responds to your voice, no touching necessary”. Moto X features Quick Capture, which is a shake gesture that directly launches the phone's camera app. You can just shake the phone twice to turn on the camera to capture something spontaneously.

Camera

The Moto X sports a 10-megapixel rear camera which packs 1.34-micron sized pixels, which is considerably large when compared to some 13-megapixel sensors found in similarly priced handsets. The 2-megapixel front-facing camera shouldn't be relied on for anything other than occasional self-portraits.

Performance

The Moto X could easily handle games like Temple Run 2 and Subway Surfers which are not that graphically heavy, but things get a bit choppy when playing games like Dead Trigger 2, which has higher graphics and processing requirements.

You can play music loud enough to fill a small room. However, the sound tends to distort at the highest volume level. Call quality on the Moto X was impressive and the device was able to latch on to cellular networks even in weak signal areas which came in handy at times. The Moto X ships with a 2,200mAh non-removable battery that the company claims can deliver up to 24 hours of mixed usage.

Conclusion

The Moto X with its unique software enhancements still comes out looking like a winner. It might not be a game changer with its specifications, as there are now devices which boast octa-core processors and higher resolution screens, but the Moto X is definitely a contender in the mid-range segment.

HTC Desire 816 is part of the Taiwanese device maker's mid-range smartphone lineup.

Build & design

HTC Desire 816 essentially follows the same design philosophy as the company's flagship phone, HTC One, complete with front dual stereo speakers. However, unlike the One's all-metal chasis, Desire 816 is made of plastic. Since the phone sports a big, 5.5-inch display, the overall footprint is also larger compared to One. The display is flanked by dual stereo BoomSound speakers on both sides. right side sports a plastic flap that hides two nano-sim card slots and a microSD card slot. One of the sim card slot supports both CDMA-EVDO and GSM-HSPA sim cards, while the other one supports a GSM-only sim card.

Display

The front of the phone is dominated by a 5.5-inch Super LCD 2 display with a resolution of 720 x 1280pixels. Watching videos and movies is a pleasurable experience thanks to the phone's big screen. Under-sun legibility was good. Unfortunately, Desire 816's display doesn't come with Gorilla Glass protection, so you'll need a scratch guard.

Software

HTC Desire 816 comes with Android 4.4.2 KitKat, the latest version of the OS with Sense 6, the new version of HTC's custom UI, running on top. It sports the on-screen navigation keys which hide while playing games and using apps that make use of Android's new immersive mode.

Camera

it includes a 13MP BSI sensor with f/2.2 aperture and a 28mm lens. Images shot with the phone in optimum light looked great. It is capable of capturing 1080p videos. Desire 816's front-camera has a 5MP sensor with f2.0 wide angle lens for taking selfies.

Performance

HTC Desire 816 is powered by a 1.6GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor and 1.5GB RAM. Even though it is a mid-range device, the 816 never felt underpowered with the hardware being capable of supporting multitasking and gaming without hiccups. We were able to play videos of popular file formats without any issues. The phone also comes with FM Radio.

HTC Desire 816's front stereo speakers offer enhanced sound quality in addition to delivering sound that's much more powerful and clear compared to many phones. Call quality was excellent and the phone works well even in weak signal areas. The phone comes with GPS and A-GPS for navigation and maps, and it was easily able to lock a signal. It supports Bluetooth 4.0 with aptX codec support. This allows the phone to deliver CD-like sound over Bluetooth (usually, the sound quality deteriorates over Bluetooth). But the thing we liked the most about this phone is its battery backup. The phone comes with a 2600mAh battery (non removable) and will last you more than a day with moderate to high usage including about one to two hours of making calls, playing games, clicking some pictures, listening to music and browsing the web; and about one-and-a-half day if you don't play games or watch multimedia content.

Gaming

We were able to play games like Subway Surfers, Riptide GP2 and Asphalt 8(with Visual Quality set to High and Engine at 100%) without encountering any frame drops or freezes.

Conclusion

Desire 816 is a capable mid-range phone that offers almost all features you'll care about. If you can't afford One (M8) but want a similar experience, this is the closest you'll get by shelling out less than Rs 24,000. All the more better if you're a fan of big displays.

The phone is well-built, sports a decent display, offers good performance, great battery life and comes with the tag of a premium brand. The enhanced audio quality and multimedia experience is the cherry on the cake.

Here are some ways-

Air Video App
if you have an Android or iOS phone/tablet, you don't even need to buy an additional display the phone/tablet becomes the second display you only need to buy the Air Video app (a free version is also available, so that you can see how it works).

The developers (Avatron Software) have made a server software available for both Windows (XP, Vista & 7) and MAC (OS X 10.6 or later) on their website simply install the app on your mobile device, the server software on your computer and connect both devices to the same network.

WiDi

Certain laptops (especially newer Ultrabooks) come with Intel's WiDi or Wireless Display feature.

With WiDi, you can wirelessly connect your laptop to any HDMI capable display the only catch is that you need to separately purchase a WiDI adapter which receives the signal from the laptop. Adapters are available from brands like Netgear, Logitech, D-link & Belkin.

VNC

VNC (Virtual Networking Computing) is one of the most commonly used methods for screen sharing. Using VNC, you can not only view the screen of a remote computer but also control it.

A single server machine can connect to multiple client machines useful for collaboration or presentations with multiple users. If you are looking for crossplatform VNC software, then TigerVNC is what you need. All of these are free and offer basic password protection for security.

Web-Based Screen Sharing
If you have a PC with limited functionality, you can use a browser based solution for screen sharing as well as remote control.
Head over to www.join.me and select the 'basic' version. It will download an executable server file to your machine. The server will then give you a unique 9-digit access code.

Up to nine people can connect and view your screen using this code.

Team Viewer & Crossloop
TeamViewer and Crossloop provide free screen sharing and remote control access for non-commercial use. This means that as long as two computers have either TeamViewer or Crossloop installed, they can connect to each other for screen sharing irrespective of location.

Crossloop is available for Android while TeamViewer is available for Android and iOS. This means you can use a mobile app to easily access your computer as long as the respective server software is installed.

Here I am gonna tell you an app which automatically switches on/off WiFi on your Android and saves your battery in case you forget to switch off your WiFi.

Just couple of days back, I have explored some cool features of Google News which I would like to share with you all.

1) Go to "https://news.google.co.in/" & then you can search news by using any keyword in search box and it will give you closest matching results as shown below.

2) You can further filter the data using time filters like past hour, past 24 hrs, past week etc. Also you can sort data by relevance or by date.

3) You can do advance search [by selecting Advanced Search option in above screen] where you can specify exact phrase, location or on the basis of dates (start date & end date). Also you can specify from where you want to see news i.e. sources like times of india, aaj tak etc. See below-
