Man Down ....Man Down

Some people may have noticed the absence of the site as it was , and you now find yourself here….ok time to update the site and swat up on the internet and actually learn a little about building a website...

well time has come to "Re Boot" evil mushroom games....

so as a temporary fix I have redirected the site to my blog and with any luck in time once I’ve got to grips with all this new stuff and fixed a few things ( likely to bash head against the desk and shout a little at the screen and ask “ just want a button to press to do that AAHHHHHRRRRRR ...”

don't worry im sure there will be new stuff along with the new site too..

WebWay travel may be closer than you think.....

The day may soon be close for you to get your hands on your very own inter planetary / webway / warp gate / star gate thingy. This project started a long time back and has gone through a good few phases and injections of enthusiasm.

In my past of wargaming I have played the Eldar and so it’s always been a piece I wanted to do and think it would make a great objective or scenery piece for the table top.

It’s started off looking a good deal different and very happy that it’s evolved into the current shape and look.

Above you can see an early attempt, not too clear from the old photo but it was very chunky , at the time was happy but as time went by didn’t like the back of it and as luck would have it I happened to brake the master so gave me the opportunity to give it a fresh start.

I liked the look and feel but just thought it should be a little slimmer and being carved / grown out of some alien material should be solid piece. So on to version 2. Below basic shape carved

The original base was going to be massive so reduced it down to a more acceptable size. And then left the scenery for a bit to do some other models and things

TIME PASSED…..

Got my casting hat on and made a master cast and then moved to test casting. All seemed well and a test cast produced (some tinkering needed air getting out little issue but nothing major). Played around with the rune stone position and number needed can got the model stuck together and ready for painting , good old spray undercoat and base coat all done. Then it got left for a while well…. Maybe a little more than a while…… started a few other projects and then started on the reactor

And took some pictured of the progress shots, noticed the webway sitting all half painted and that just wouldn’t do.

The Webway will be all resin and will need some assembly. So time for some vital stats

The base is approx. 12cm long x 10cm wide x 2cm tall

Two types of rune stones:

Large rune stone 1.8cm long x 1.5cm wide x 0.5cm high

Small rune stone 1.5cm long x 1cm wide x 0.5 high

The webway the base is the base is 8cm long x 1.5 wide and the height is just under 20cm when attached to the base.

So with any luck all you pointy eared, pointy helmet army leaders can have your very own webway access.

From what I hear from the space monkeys they are rather rare so you better guard them with your life.

Obviously I’m not going to be exercising any race discrimination so other alien races may acquire some for their gaming tables too.

Now if you feel the need to go and spread this news all over the net and tell as many gamers as you feel fit I’m not going to protest.

Sneak peek at...... Web-way Gate scenery

I have been toying with various ideas and shapes of my very own Web-way. This has now been completed and in its very final stages. Its been made with 28mm table top wargaming in mind.

I'm sure if you look through the blog you will see a post now and again about it. This one has been test cast and now painted, its been a an idea I had for so long and now happy with the final design and feel , only took 2 versions.

It will come in a few parts all cast in resin, the main web-way , base and separate gems/rune stones (6 medium size and 2 large) so a customisation is possible and being separate from the base should make it more adaptable to your gaming scenery needs / conversion.

The scenery once att to the base stands 20cm tall , the base has a footprint of 12cm by 10cm. so should make an impressive centre piece / objective to the gaming table

I’m happy to inform you all the Yin Yang style bases are all ready for you to grab.

I’m sure these will suit many races and wargames myself the Tau and Eldar will made a nice character base or display bases.

Currently the 25mm and 40mm are ready im sure in time the 60mm round will be added.

these are simple but very useful bases allowing more basing option and should hope to see more option using these coming in the future .

Been very busy with lost of things unrelated to really cool wargaming and painting ( little sad face) , but I have managed to squeeze some time in and got some bases done and some other little bits and bobs but news on those can follow later once I have tweaked those a little.

These have been a little ting I have been wanting to do for some time and just think they are great as they allow so many more options when it comes to basing .

Deep recessed bases popular DS or rounded lip bases are in 30mm, 40mm & 50mm

allow use of water effects creating swamp effect or just pools of blood (many more options) or to enable minis with integral bases to be easily mounted to match other DS miniatures.

these will be up in the shop very very soon so I'll keep you posted

they will come in 30mm, 40mm & 50mm round bevelled bases .

these should be just great for Warmachine and other similar game sets.

New crystals bases have been ready for little time now but have been busy busy so not had time to get them test cast and painted.

well I managed to grab some free time and some progress was made .

I'm feeling little smug about them I do like them and a might fine paint job for me (well I think there great )

these will be on sale very soon , will get some better shots for the web and may be just in time for pay-day ( well that's if you get paid near the end of the month )

Webway / warp portal work in progress

Its been some time now that I have been working on the webway / warp gate ( Eldar style ) scenery. been a side little project for a long time and its now getting to a point that cant cat some test cast done and painted up very soon...

This has always been a bit of scenery I wanted to get done but never really got to the point I was happy with it, but now it looking very nice and ticking those Mmmm nice scenery boxes ( well i do think so myself )

rune stones two different sizes

the finished product will be cast in resin and with its own base separate so you can make the choice to have the base or make your own .so easier to use . also there will be separate rune stones to add some detail to the gate itself.

size wise the webway will stand a little under 20cm high

The webway started off looking a little different from the look it has now and over time the 1st version became damaged and started not to like the look of it so thought would start from scratch and glad I did , once its ready will be looking to get it out in the shop soon as i can , just need to gets the molds done and get some cast. then its time to get one painted up and get it out there ... and hopefully see some money roll . ( now that would be nice )

and this was the old one ( cant tell from the pictured too well but when the two are next to each other the old one really did show its age )

Toxic over flow is now on sale

Just added to the website its the toxic overflow .

its now time to pollute your gaming table with some toxic waste , but remember jumping into toxic waste may or may not be hazardous to your health .

The overflow set comes in two parts 1/ pipe over flow & 2/ toxic overflow pool .

The toxic pool measures about 18cm across and 12cm deep so plenty of toxic mess for your table , also the pool is recessed so once you have painted it you can add water effect and varnish to give it more realistic look.

the toxic overflow can be used along side the pipe scenery already out and in the shop section

Little update added some fantastic new scenery items to the shop , can be found in the shop section under trees and also modelling tools and materials

( just couldn't decide which one they best fitted in so through sod it both )

Added 3 sets of Treemendus natural leaves there great for adding some very nice details to scenery / bases and more . priced at £4.69 good price if I don't say so myself . each bag has plenty to use .

over the weekend got some needed molds made. some successful new molds made and demolded so happy days as I say.

looking like I can start getting some new bases and scenery out soon, I just have some painted now to get done and then can start populating the shop with the new stuff. will keep the blog updated with new stuff as its becoming closer to be ready.

though I would show you one of the forth coming scenery items , this is a toxic over flow top be used in conjunction with the existing piping range. the toxic pool has a recessed centre to allow you to use water effect / varnish to make it look more realistic just as you can with the toxic pools already out. and for some added toxic effect its complete with the classic radioactive sign fallen over at the edge.

TOXIC WASTE MAY NOT BE YOUR FRIEND

In the interest of public health and the impending release of the toxic pools, think maybe its wise to issue a warning / reminder about toxic waste .

Granted there is that little possibly of gaining some super powers but these seem to be very few and far between in my experiments.

So with the release very very soon of the toxic pools feel I have done what I can to protect from any toxic disasters and at your own risk place your models close to these toxic pools .

Well have been working away in the workshop cutting this sanding that putting plater on finger now and then .

During all this have been able to Finnish some new toxic pools three so far, been wanting to do some of these for a while now.

I'm sure more will follow adding to the range and also working in some other pieces of existing scenery being incorporated like the pipe section ( burst / damaged )

these sets have been made with a recessed centre allowing you to add fluid / water effect varnish making them look more realistic on your table top , the painted ones I did had some water effect ( with little green ink added )

New stuff.

Hello all, have just now pulled the first test cast from the moulds.

Have got lined up some new skull display bases along the line of the existing 60mm round skull base these will be smaller in 25mm and 40 mm round .

also after playing some left 4 dead 2 a few days ago I got the need to make some toxic / waste land style bases and scenery . and being in the creative mood have bashed out a little. I'm sure more will follow in the later weeks months too.

The 60mm round bases , this will be an addition to the existing 25mm round waste land bases.

the next set I like I have made 3 pools of waste they have lips round the edges so once painted you can add liquid in ( fake water / varnish) to make them look like pools of waste / toxic waste.

as the 1st cast have worked well looks like will have to get them painted and will update the blog once done and then get them added to the shop.

I also have a few more ideas for waste land toxic spill style scenery/ bases so likely to see more along these lines , burst pipes and extra waste pools maybe more base set .

Work desk update

Well after a few weeks of not paying much attention to what was going on on my work space , yep I know its a right mess ( in need of a woman's touch to keep it tidy lol ).

Thought it was time to get some spring cleaning done as I am intending to get some new bases and other stuff made in the next few weeks / months depending on free time , also if I can find my dam ipod nano with all the music to keep me going.

Bendy Hair Shapers

Very useful for modellers

This is not some sort of weird hairdressing tips section I have just posted but a little example of how products intended for one use can be used by modellers.

I picked up myself some Bendy Hair Shapers from eBay for few £’s ( I did get them for this purpose and not for any hair related issues just to set the record straight )

Taking the curler apart you will be left with the foam rubber tubing, flexible wire and two plastic stoppers. You can then cut the foam rubber tubing to size to fit over paintbrushes, sculpting tools and files.

I have found using the sculpting tools for an extended period of time became uncomfortable, the foam tubing helps to stop this and also does give a lot more grip

The other flip side to these is you are left with the flexible wire, this can be used for so many modelling projects. Given they are next to noting to pick up well worth a try, yes I know I did get mine in pink ( purely down to the fact they were he first set I came across on eBay) may not be to everyone’s taste but they can be got in other colours too think I have seen them in blue .

The other flip side to using the foam is makes finding the tools a little easier , if your work bench is much like mine ( little messy and un organised ) will save you a few minuets looking for your tools

these trees are like the old school ones I used to game with on my gaming tables , and the ones I used to get from GW so many years ago before it all moved to plastics.

Do like them as next to no work needs to be done to start using them, just out the box and glue them into to place , Bingo forest / wood in no time
