Windscreen Wipers

An inventor Robert Kearns first time introduced windscreen wipers and presented his design to Ford, which was the leading car company of that time. Ford reviewed his idea but rejected it.

Few years later Ford introduced a car with similar type of wipers. Kearns filed case upon them. The facts that Ford presented were that wipers didn’t had any of the specific component which can be recognized by Kearn’s name. That’s the reason after fighting the case for 15 years and spending $10 million legal fees, he still lost the case.

Aviator Watch

The name itself leads to many controversies. The aviator allows to measure true air speed more accurately.This idea can save many airplanes from just crashing into pieces. Yeslam invent this aviator because of this father’s death in a plane crash. Aviator is aimed for their better performance of professional pilots, though the American pilots just don’t seem to be using it. It looks like, that they think this aviator is haunted by the curse of Yeslam’s Half brother, Osama.

Invention of Radio

The controversy related to radio runs around two people Nikola Tesla and ITALIAN Gugliemo Marconi. Tesla introduced the idea of the practical use of radio waves, but he had poor business mind and didn’t applied his own idea, while Marconi formulated this idea practically and became first man to make radio. Controversy was that who should be known as the father of radio. US courts gave the credit to Marconi but Tesla died in fighting for the title which should be given to him. Though he succeeded after 40 years but died few months before the final decision.

Movie Camera

Controversy arose when credit for the movie camera invention was to be given. In U.S Thomas Edison first created moving pictures. William Friese from UK invented camera. For cinematography credit was to be given to Louis and August .A Frenchman Louis Le Prince invented motion picture camera.

All of them showed remarkable contributions, but after a long time controversy it was decided that the credit of making movie camera goes to Louis Le Prince.

Light Bulb

Who should be given the credit! Thomas Edison invented incandescent light, Wairen de La Rue first run electricity through filament. A British scientist Humphry Davy first invented crude electric light.

Swann invented prototype bulb and he has the honor of having a house which was first illuminated through electricity. But when Edison started his bulb journey it was much more remarkable. So credit of first reliable bulb goes to Edison but the father of the idea should be given to Warren de La Rue.

Invention of Calculus

Two names revolve in the history of calculus, Isaac Newton and Gottfried Leibniz. Controversy arose when the credit of inventing calculus was given to Gottfried.

Friends of Newton objected that this kind of calculations were present in Newton’s books from a long time. So after a long discussion it was proved that Newton invented infinitesimal calculus while Leibniz invented integral and differential calculus.

Whales have a bad reputation related to global warming due to the fact that they breathe out a lot of CO2. However, a research of their feces could make them more lovable. True or hoax? Body of 'dead alien' found in frozen wastes of Siberia

Two walkers have claimed to have found a dead body of an alien in frozen wastes of Siberia and posted the video on the Internet.

On its side with its mouth slightly agape, the slender, badly-damage body lies half-buried in snow close to Irkutsk, Russia.
The corpse of the badly-damaged creature which resembles ET is 2ft-high.art of the right leg is missing and there are deep holes for eyes and a mouth in a skull-like head.
It follows reports of a UFO hurtling towards Earth in the nearby Irkutsk region of Siberia one month ago.

"We couldn't believe it when we saw it. And what was spooky is that there was no sign of the spaceship. Perhaps that was taken away and the body overlooked," the Daily Mail quoted Igor Molovic, one of the pair that uploaded the video, as saying.
Nearly 700,000 people have now seen the clip within a few days.
Cynics, however, claim the video is a fake using a carefully staged model for the alien's body.

It’s FAKE

The tiny “dead alien” is just skin from chicken filled with bread, reports the website 7d.org.ua. Police questioned the men who claimed to have found the “body” and they allegedly confessed to creating it themselves.
The chief editor of the local Kabansk-Info newspaper initially thought that it was the body of an infant in the video and alerted the police. Officers immediately started the investigation and identified the alleged author.
They went to his house and asked him about the infant’s body. The scared man reportedly showed a fake alien corpse. It was even painted in “alien colors”. Scolding is the only possible punishment for such a stunt as it cannot be considered a crime, the report says.

Making the most out of Google—“Intelligent Google Search”

The Basic search help article covers all the most common issues, but sometimes you need a little bit more power. This document will highlight the more advanced features of Google Web Search. Have in mind though that even very advanced searchers, such as the members of the search group at Google, use these features less than 5% of the time. Basic simple search is often enough. As always, we use square brackets [ ] to denote queries, so [ to be or not to be ] is an example of a query; [ to be ] or [ not to be ] are two examples of queries.

Phrase search ("")
By putting double quotes around a set of words, you are telling Google to consider the exact words in that exact order without any change. Google already uses the order and the fact that the words are together as a very strong signal and will stray from it only for a good reason, so quotes are usually unnecessary. By insisting on phrase search you might be missing good results accidentally. For example, a search for[ "Alexander Bell" ] (with quotes) will miss the pages that refer to Alexander G. Bell.
Search within a specific website (site:)
Google allows you to specify that your search results must come from a given website. For example, the query [ iraq site:nytimes.com ]will return pages about Iraq but only from nytimes.com. The simpler queries [ iraq nytimes.com ] or [ iraq New York Times ] will usually be just as good, though they might return results from other sites that mention the New York Times. You can also specify a whole class of sites, for example [ iraq site:.gov ] will return results only from a .gov domain and [ iraq site:.iq ] will return results only from Iraqi sites.
Terms you want to exclude (-)
Attaching a minus sign immediately before a word indicates that you do not want pages that contain this word to appear in your results. The minus sign should appear immediately before the word and should be preceded with a space. For example, in the query[ anti-virus software ], the minus sign is used as a hyphen and will not be interpreted as an exclusion symbol; whereas the query[ anti-virus -software ] will search for the words 'anti-virus' but exclude references to software. You can exclude as many words as you want by using the - sign in front of all of them, for example [ jaguar -cars -football -os ]. The - sign can be used to exclude more than just words. For example, place a hyphen before the 'site:' operator (without a space) to exclude a specific site from your search results.
Fill in the blanks (*)
The *, or wildcard, is a little-known feature that can be very powerful. If you include * within a query, it tells Google to try to treat the star as a placeholder for any unknown term(s) and then find the best matches. For example, the search [ Google * ] will give you results about many of Google's products (go to next page and next page -- we have many products). The query [ Obama voted * on the * bill ] will give you stories about different votes on different bills. Note that the * operator works only on whole words, not parts of words.
Search exactly as is (+)
Google employs synonyms automatically, so that it finds pages that mention, for example, childcare for the query [ child care ] (with a space), or California history for the query [ ca history ]. But sometimes Google helps out a little too much and gives you a synonym when you don't really want it. By attaching a + immediately before a word (remember, don't add a space after the +), you are telling Google to match that word precisely as you typed it. Putting double quotes around a single word will do the same thing.
The OR operator
Google's default behavior is to consider all the words in a search. If you want to specifically allow either one of several words, you can use the OR operator (note that you have to type 'OR' in ALL CAPS). For example, [ San Francisco Giants 2004 OR 2005 ] will give you results about either one of these years, whereas [ San Francisco Giants 2004 2005 ] (without the OR) will show pages that include both years on the same page. The symbol | can be substituted for OR. (The AND operator, by the way, is the default, so it is not needed.)

Exceptions

Search is rarely absolute. Search engines use a variety of techniques to imitate how people think and to approximate their behavior. As a result, most rules have exceptions. For example, the query [ for better or for worse ] will not be interpreted by Google as an OR query, but as a phrase that matches a (very popular) comic strip. Google will show calculator results for the query [ 34 * 87 ] rather than use the 'Fill in the blanks' operator. Both cases follow the obvious intent of the query. Exceptions to 'Every word matters'

Words that are commonly used, like 'the,' 'a,' and 'for,' are usually ignored (these are called stop words). But there are even exceptions to this exception. The search [ the who ] likely refers to the band; the query [ who ] probably refers to the World Health Organization -- Google will not ignore the word 'the' in the first query.
Synonyms might replace some words in your original query. (Adding + before a word disables synonyms.)
A particular word might not appear on a page in your results if there is sufficient other evidence that the page is relevant. The evidence might come from language analysis that Google has done or many other sources. For example, the query[ overhead view of the bellagio pool ] will give you nice overhead pictures from pages that do not include the word 'overhead.'

Punctuation that is not ignored

Punctuation in popular terms that have particular meanings, like [ C++ ] or [ C# ] (both are names of programming languages), are not ignored.

The dollar sign ($) is used to indicate prices. [ nikon 400 ] and [ nikon $400 ] will give different results.

The hyphen - is sometimes used as a signal that the two words around it are very strongly connected. (Unless there is no space after the - and a space before it, in which case it is a negative sign.)

The underscore symbol _ is not ignored when it connects two words, e.g. [ quick_sort ].

Celebrating Life Everyday

For most people, life is a repetitive drill. Waking up at the same time, brushing the same way, drinking the same coffee, reading the same newspaper, a time bound bath, a hurried breakfast, road rage on the way to work, same gossip and lunch, same route back home, same arguments, compulsive dinner, same bed, crash out and wake up next day to continue the droning drill.
Life needn’t me mundane. Life needn’t be boring. Life needn’t be a year’s experience repeated ‘n’ number of times. Life needn’t be an imposition. Life needn’t be a life imprisonment. There is more to life than existing.
Pursue a new proficiency every year and see how exciting life can be. Let there not be a phase in our lives when we weren’t enrolled as an active student. It could be music lessons, playing instruments, dance classes, new fitness regimes, yoga, new languages, creative writing, painting, public speaking, gardening, photography etc. The list can never be ending, if we really want them to be.

Let us always be an explorer of life. Let us keep experimenting. Let us keep trying and feed our curiosity and inquisitiveness. Let us keep attempting something that has not been attempted before. Like trying new cuisines, new ‘hair styles’, different clothes, visiting unusual places etc. Use public transport for a day, instead of our usual drive/ride to office. Go on a voice rest the other day. Try out new things at work place. Again the list is endless. Get creative with life. Keep going.
More than all our successes, achievements and accomplishments, the formula to a lively life is to perpetually ask this question.When was the last time I did something for the first time?

Wait a moment,”Socrates replied. “Before you tell me I’d like you to pass a little test..It’s called the TRIPLE FILTER TEST.
“triple filter ?”
“That’s right, “Socrates continued, “Before you talk to me about my student let’s take a moment to filter what you are going to say. The first filter is TRUTH. Have you made absolutely sure that what you are about to tell me is true?”
“No,” the man said,”actually I just heard about it and..”
“All right,”said Socrates. “So you don’t really know if it’s true or not. Now let’s try the second filter, the filter of GOODNESS. Is what you are about to tell me about my student something good?”
“No, on the contrary..”
“So. “Socrates continued, “you want to tell me something bad about him, even though you’re not certain it’s true?”
The man shrugged, a little embarrassed.
Socrates continued.”You may still pass the test though, because there is the third filter- the filter of USEFULNESS. Is what you are about to tell me about my student going to be useful to me?”
“No not really….”

“Well,” concluded the great philosopher,”if what you want to tell me is neither True nor Good nor even Useful! Why tell it to me at all?”

My roomie is in deep sleep,I know I can hear the snores,when suddenly…
LIGHT goes off!!!
Damn I hate it …winters are really haunting when light goes off at 3:00 am.
Feeling restless I decided to take a stroll..!!
There’s an unusual silence all around..its still foggy..I don’t know why but I feel like I need to go the forbidden zone.
It is the most scariest portion of the field and being a child I feared it the most,but now I would definitely like to explore it..
I have heard of people going missing ,shouting and all that rubbish things,so come let’s verify!!!

As I moved around I felt like someone following me..and as I turned around,

Roof—it’ll upset the master!
Fan—oh shut up!!
Roof—huh!! You rogue ! BANG!! WHOOSH!!
Door—he he he !! 2 fights i’m loving it !! Go roof!! Go mirror!!
Clock and calendar are mere spectators.
Clock---stop it !! master will be soon home!!
Calendar—climbs onto the table and positions himself.

Door—whoooi!!!!!( swings open) Master you are home!! Happy to see you!
Master—hey door!! Oh god!! What on the earth is this going on!! Everyone freeze now!!
Mirror is over the window,window panes are shattered and mirror is no more beautiful,blades of fan are are......a.a.a no longer there actually its just the circular part,roof is still healthy and clock and calendar are at their places!!
Master –i guess someone is responsible for the abetment of fight!! You(clock and calendar) innocent fellows explain !!

Well this is a story of 7 friends or ........probably 7 roommates—clock, calendar, mirror ,door, window ,fan and roof..
The weather is pleasant today.....it already rained, the friends are in a room as usual waiting for their master to help him, through his daily routine...
Clock--- “30 minutes to go before master is home”(rearranging the needles)
Hey fan!!! Wanna have sum fun?
Fan—of course ! roof is sleeping..,it’s a great opportunity!!! Hey guys are you with us??
Mirror—done!!
Door—ok!!
Window—sure!!
Calender(table calender).....the weakest and perhaps the most bullied friend is still dreaming unaware of what he is going to face within moments...
Window and Door have locked themselves....Mirror while positioning himself says “lets do this time for a minute”!! Okay na?
Clock—thumbs up!!( 60 sec to go)
Fan---ladies and gentleman fasten your seat belts...time for some hurricane
And then it swirls and comes a hurricane, that just throws the calendar in the air..,wobbling and toppling calendar just couldn’t control itself....
Roof---(wakes up)hmm...!!! fan stop now!!
Clock—35 seconds to go!!
Roof—stop now or i’ll throw you!!
Fan(scared)—ew..!!! okay okay!!
While the calendar tries to come back to his position..,the others laugh at him..........this was the third time in the week he was tossed by the hooligans..
Roof----its okay cali!! They were just having fun!!
Calendar---you guys!! You are jealous of me.....that’s why you always do this to me...master loves me.
Mirror—master doesn’t!! He loves me....he always sees me whenever he enters...ever noticed... he just love doing that.
Door----hmm.........!! you think that way....but it is actually me whom he loves the most...he always touches me first.
Clock—he he he...heard what he said!!! Touch!! He never touches you.............he Kicks you always.........!!!
Door—not always!!

Window---yes sometimes he even bangs you with his fist!!!
Roof---window you are useless!! So no need to jolt up!!
Window ---huh? I have helped master plenty of time,you know what,he eyes all the girls through me!!
Fan—he he !! yeah he’s nice...but this ruddy old farmer’ clock,and poor man’s calendar..have always showed bad time to the master,never helped him through his ups and down..Stubborn fellows!
Window—yes if it weren’t for me and the fan he would have not made it so far!! We provided him all the comfort he needed during his bad time!!
Mirror—yes !! and me too!!
Door—shut up!! you did nothing....you are just a distraction.
Clock—enough of blaming !! i am not bad nor is the calendar..we have only helped him to stay updated and reach the venues at time. It is only the window and this mirror that makes him go crazy about his looks and all!! Remember it’s only after he started to pay attention to us both,that he has managed to reach where he is today!
Calendar—true!! He still pokes me (scribbles) before he go to sleep..it’s the fan and the roof who had to be blamed.
Roof—why?? Why us?

Calendar—you both turned your back onto him during his studies..this poor fan didn’t work at those moments..
Fan—hey I wasn’t well..and it was not intentional!!okay?
Roof—he’s right he wasn’t well but window was..,but he kept himself shut!! He could have helped.
Window—oi!! It was night time!! It was dangerous!!
Clock—12 mins to master!!
Door—hmmm....I believe that mirror is important to master not the window..lets throw him away..we would have more space this way..
Mirror—yes yes!!
Window –what!!
Mirror-- yes you are useless you are no good...master can use door for girls why would he need you!!
Window—shut up!! don’t upset me,,things can get very ugly!!
BANG!! WHOOSH!! BOOM!!!

I shouted as I made my way through the group of children trying 2 snatch the bread pakora's I had......I trotted and reached the area where some students were involved in their drawings...kya hai ki..DRAWING/ESSAY WRITING COMPETITION was on and I was carrying the SNACKS for the participants...only participants

DURGA PUJA-the most celebrated festivals of the bengali's is celebrated as happily here(DELHI) as anywhere...and dis time I was lucky enough to be a part of the organising committee...At 18 years of age I was perhaps the youngest member of the committee....the puja committee

Me along with my 3 mates were to organize the essay writing and drawing competition...what you have to draw in drawing competition were given by me,so I was quite excited about it....

ESSAY WRITING

TOPIC---MY FAMILY

As I was distributing d snacks,I peeped into the papers of the participants and found...a .a.a common line
"MY FAMILY CONSISTED OF 4/5/6//7/8 MEMBERS"....to be precise some had written just this much....

"Don't just keep that door of your mind ajar swing it full" I told them trying to distribute the pakora's efficiently without wasting the ketchup with it..
Essay writing competition was a mess as most of them just revolved about the names and their status in d family...
like "Mere dadaji ka naam ***** hai aur vo mere dadaji hai..,vo 85 umar ke hai"-------arre yaar who cares what's your dadaji's age or name is,I gave some of them sinister looks..
DRAWING COMPETITION ended pretty well....actually it also just ended but at least here were some cute little tiny tots trying 2 draw as they like....much fun watching those expressions of glee...loved d moment

DURGA PUJA is coming back this year also...hope we get some good essayist this time and yes no bread pakora's..!!!!

Rithala To Dilshad Garden
This blog is dedicated to Delhi Metro which makes me reach home every evening or whenever I want to(except early morning or late night).

21 stations ,47 mins and unlimited fun-------This is what Delhi Metro offers you daily...
Since Rithala is the first station from that side,I get a completely empty metro and easily get my seat. As the metro proceeds and reaches Pitamoura(4th station).the metro is full with all people standing.Here starts the real fun....Now we are youngsters so we don't need seats that's what most people have in mind (as is we have 100% battery always,anyone tell them that even if you haven't have done anything the whole day even then we need seats....ha ha ha.)so all aunties,old people travel the complete metro just to find guys like us and when they succeed they'll come and stand in front of us..yes!!they will just stand and won't tell you anything apart from constant staring...If you are decent empty the seat before anyone tells you to do so(as i do. as i don't want any humiliation in metro....).Now as you rise they'll say "arre!! betaji aap baitho,khade kyon ho rahe ho" and then they'll just sit...So I'm standing now and it's just the 5th station and forget any chance of getting seats now...So now i can see lots of my age fellows standing,looking for seats(an almost impossibility)some get seated on the floors while some who are sitting on their seats resist any eye contacts with aunties and old people in order to prevent their going seats,even better some put earphones so as to avoid any conversations and i tell you the songs are played at such a volume that even the people around can tell which song is on the list.....Another mast fact,at times some villager type people enters and talk to each other as if they are at a compartment distance..really nice talks and enjoyable time as far as you are not the victim....At times i also find some verbal fights going on,bada maza ata haipar jaldi khatam ho jata hai...Okay!! so now we have reached Kashmere Gate(13th station),here people change the metro line so a lot of crowd leaves but around the same enters too(if you are lucky you will get a seat, you are very lucky if you can sustain it..)Next 8 stations is my destination..The metro travels and i indulge in identifying the areas i have been to before....Shahdara metro station has got some past memories.......but that's a different story.....At times some farter's also board the metro and leave their effects there,and then i am like"arre jaldi chalao aur ye metro ke saare gate kholo!! bardasht nahi ho pa raha!!!.And finally i reach my destination Dilshad Garden metro station..As the gates open you'll find people running so as to reach downstairs to place their smart cards on the AFC's,some use stairs while a lot use lift..what to say delhiites are crazy about lifts.....

Now the on foot journey from Dilshad Garden metro station to Dilshad Colony(my home) is a different story................!!!!!

One Life!!!

Let me tell you what makes me give my blog such a title....

Suppose i give you a big box and i want you to unwrap it.As you begin doing it you find another version of it,of course a bit smaller than the original.Again as you proceed you find similar thing and your excitement will rise and imagination beyond reach as what can be inside such a small box,eventually finding only air.....

This teaches us a very good lesson about life.,ie...life is a journey of exploring new things in life which raises our curiosity about what is their in the next stage...we become very happy when our expectations are met but get into low when they aren't...the main thing we need to understand is that life is a combination of gains and misses.....Ask yourself what is the importance of a win if you can't lose.We have got a single life and we should always be interested in exploring the mysteries of life because we never know which BOX is the last one.............

First blood donation...........

Finally the day came for which i was waiting ever since i turned 18.

RED CROSS SOCIETY together with DELHI TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY conducted a blood donation camp in which hundreds of students & teachers actively participated.

4 february 2010

Place -Convocation Hall, DTU

Time 10:12 am

As expected i made my way to the centre & found lots of students, some undergoing donation process ,some having refreshments,some filling the forms & some just watching the scenario & trying to pose in as many pictures as possible among whom i was the one too.

1- Filled the form completely but got struck when asked the blood group. Yeah you are right I didn't knew my blood group & that was the thing for which I was most eager to know.The volunteer performed a few seconds test and said its "O",being too happy i forgot to ask the Rh factor(+/-).

2- Next step, the volunteers trying their best not to get any wrong person(suffering from diseases or alcoholic types) in asked me some questions which i easily got through, finally landing on the bed while seeing others doing things which I was doing some minutes ago.

3- The man came smiling & said it would pain a bit while others lying nearby laughed, he pierced the needle & blood drew through the tube leading to the packet. It took a few minutes while i closed & opened my wrists as I was asked.

4- Finally he removed the tube & put some liquid thing on the wound(i guess it was dettol).

oh my god !!! then came the immense pain, I almost had to close my eyes , it lasted a few seconds & then it was over.

5- I lay there a few minutes as i saw my blood carried away,& finally I was standing as fit & fine as ever. I had the refreshments which almost occupied every bit of my stomach & had to skip my lunch.

As i moved out, i found my two friends standing a bit irritated as they were returned due to fever & underweight reasons. We headed straight for the class where we were all kicked out for coming late & we enjoyed the rest of time sitting outside the class on the stairs.

The duo moaned a bit for their attendance but i was really happy as i had my donor's card which i know will grant me the attendance if required......

DONT HESITATE IF YOU ARE ON THE VERGE OF SAVING LIFE, JUST DONATE BLOOD ITS REALLY NICE THING TO DO & YEAH!!!! IT WON'T DILUTE YOUR BLOOD. FURTHER THEY WILL RETUEN YOUR FAVOUR BY GIVING BLOOD TO ANY OF YOUR RELATIVES FOR FREE USING THE DONOR'S CARD I MENTIONED BEFORE..............

Another day from our lives passed & refilling us about the sacrifices endured by brave men of our country.okay don't worry i'm not getting started with all that,i know you have heard it before

so lets get to the point first.

26 Jan 2010, Smt Sheila Dikshit gave us yet another reason to be proud of what we are.

"Delhi is open for everyone who is willing to come"

Unlike Shiv Sena's words about the non marathis, we all delhiites feel the same way Smt Dikshit feels & knowing this feeling gives me immense pleasure that we have still not stopped all links of generosity.

As i think about life i believe anyone who works for the best of society has every right to stay in that surrounding despite where he/she is born.What all a man has to do to gain the right of living in a place is to have a good behaviour & promotion of the society irrespective of the culture,caste,sex,nation & whatever other distinctions possible

Delhi rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
