Close Up is seeking the remarkable individual capable of embracing the challenge of being one of our two South Island reporters. This is not for the inexperienced or fainthearted. Your territory is huge but so are the opportunities to excel in daily current affairs and enhance or reinvigorate your career. You will need to be a senior television journalist just as comfortable with investigative stories as you are with human interest. You will have already demonstrated a nose for a current affairs story, initiative, high energy, flair and the ability to work without close supervision, often in difficult circumstances.

This is a great opportunity to join the editing team where you will work on the latest sports and entertainment shows, concentrating on programme preparation for Presentation. Working within the Production Services team, you will be responsible for providing editing and pre-production services for Sport, Entertainment, News, and external clients. For this role you will need: Experience in a television station as a VT/Media Operator/editor or similar position; Strong editorial judgement; Experience with non-linear editing systems an advantage; Ability to work regular overnight and rostered shifts as required.

MAC OPERATOR/DESIGNER | ALLIED PUBLICATIONS

We are looking for a team player who wants to join a company that’s growing. We use the latest Intel Mac hardware utilising CS5, Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator & Acrobat and we would expect the applicant to be proficient with all these applications. Speed & accuracy is a must. Pre press knowledge would be a definite advantage. Experience with web & e-publishing could be advantageous but not a pre-requisite.

VIDEO EDITORS | MAORI TELEVISION

We are seeking an Intermediate / Senior level Video Editor with at least four years’ broadcast editing experience. We are looking for strong Avid editing skills (on-lining, effects editing and colour-grading). We’re also seeking a Junior Video Editor with at least two years’ broadcast editing experience. The successful candidate will have an understanding of broadcast standards and the ability to learn quickly. Duties will include cutting items for News and General Programmes.
