Escape to Genting….!

The trip up to Genting last weekend was beyond my expectation.

I see all the upcoming pics and I’m quite lost. There were crazy many things that happened, and could have happened during that 2D 1N stay up at First World Hotel.

WHEN:

Last Monday, Josh.my called me and told me about a blogger’s trip up to Genting.. for free. I thought, All-Expense-Paid-trip-to-Genting didn’t sound like much. Makan, show, theme park and stuff that didn’t quite appeal to me anymore.

Something like eating Abalone..You eat it once, it tastes great but you won’t wana do it again ~~coz of the Uric Acid in my blood~~ …coz of how much it’ll burn in your wallet.

But, this was free.

And I saw the itinerary that Josh.my sent to me and I thought twice.

Quite instantly…*ka-ching* $_$

I’m a sucker for great deals. And this was a package worth RM800.

Without much hesitation..I asked Psychkin to join me…

….And here we are in the bus on Thursday evening xD

Next day is Labor Day ma. Of coz don’t miss this chance la.

Up in the cable car, we were accompanied by a tour group, that sounded like Mainland Chinese. Notice the woman in the white cap. She just wouldn’t let go of the bar thoughout the 3.4 km ride. And she was squealing each time the cable car rumbled past the support towers.

Personally it’s my first time meeting someone so afraid like this. I call it Cablecarophobia. Good thing she didn’t puke down my back…I would have so thrown her out and ended her Cablecarophobia on the spot.

And to set you in the nice weather mood…..jeng jeng jeng…

“Dinner at Coffee Terrace at 7.30pm”

We reached in time for dinner with da bloggahs at Coffee Terrace!

This was another surprise. The last time, this place was more of Coffeeshop Terrace and looked nothing like the current Coffee Terrace. Genting did great revamping this place.

The food was great, though I couldn’t take out the whole buffet line. No time! And the variety was short of Mediterranean cuisine (pasta – so important but it was left out).

And this was when I realized what I missed out on earlier in the day.

Vouchers to 1. Flying Coaster, 2. Snow World, 3. All park 1 day ride, 4. Sky Venture.

We missed out on all this. Never expected these vouchers..we got more than what I expected! Sky Venture was something that I thought I didn’t wanna try, but with the voucher in hand, it was a ‘why not??’ thing. Mannn, the only thing missing were the casino chips..Of which I lost RM50 the next day la. I bought 333 at Taisai but it came up 332, damn.

Anyway.

These passes were valid until 3rd May, which meant that we could still play the next day. Happy.

And because we were bloggers, we could do whatever the hell we wanted. While I was snapping like crazy, I didn’t get ‘Sorry sir, no cameras allowed here’. Even when I smacked the waitress’s butt, all she did was to laugh shyly and walk away.

No la, kidding only. I never do such things, honest.

“Dreamz International Show”

As Renee posts, and I quote ‘Featuring for the first time in Southeast Asia is a magnificent beast...the elusive white lion. Once thought to be a myth, the white lion first existed as whispered rumours in the wilderness of South Africa before finally being discovered in 1975. This highly elusive animal performs alongside the white tiger - possibly the most prized animal in modern times for its beautiful coat and stunning ice-blue eyes.’

I’ve seen the poster above around so often that the White Lion and Cub don’t seem to be so rare anymore.

And this time, we bloggers got to take pics up close and personal with the white lion. In fact I know of some of us who came for this event just for the white lion camho session, oh the shiok sendiri-ness! *ahemrenee*

And this is where we got to sit…front 3 rows yo!

So, we had to sit thru the whole show, about 1 1/2 hour. Honestly, many of the parts of the show were common and occasionally, boring.

Dance dance, sing sing, jump jump, flip flip…aih..I think my camera enjoyed the show more than I did.

Until THIS started playing……woohoo!

‘The Globe of Death’! LOL. Not just any metal cage, but one that has (if you look closely) 2 motorcyclists spinning round and round the inside! Happening! Sorry I’m a petrolhead sometimes lol.

After 2 cyclists, then 1 another went in, spun a few minutes, then another went in and spun a few minutes!

That makes it 4 in total.

But I didn’t expect……

…One more cyclist to make it 5 spinning inside.

I saw 4 spinners-in-a-cage when I was a kid, but 5 is really pushing it man.

3 spinning in the top half, and 2 at the bottom huhu. *applause*

Human beings are crazy la, they like to pay to sit at the edge of their seats and watch people do this stuff and almost die like this motorcycle act.

There were light moments by this clown (I think, I don’t know). Or maybe he’s a comedian.

Dunno who kena tepuk on the head that night lol. I like the motion effect of his hand..haha..!

And of course, his assistant Maria, whom I find quite hot…hmm wonder what lies under that pink tutu..

I liked one of the ‘magic’ tricks where the comedian (I’m using the nicer term here) made tissue / tissue box ‘disappear’…

…by throwing it behind the volunteer. Yes, the yellow thing you see up there is the tissue box.

And the poor guy is clueless.

Kinda pity him that he became the object of ridicule instead of the clown lor. But gotta give it to him for being such a sport, instead of getting up and beating the clown to death ahhaa.

The band, I must say, was excellent and belted out songs like a recording all through the night.

And the animals!

Notice the guy who’s handling and constantly jumped at by the big cats..

He is Enrique Polo and basically he and his family are the ones behind the show. They’ve been here for half a year, and till now, getting pretty good crowds for Dreamz showcases. In fact, his son is the one behind the motorcycle act.

Crazy guy. haha.

I was baffled by one of the magic illusions where the guy’s body was cut in half by the saw ~ ooooh ~. Let me play innocent and be ‘bluffed’ by the trick can? xD

But seriously, quite well and realistically done :)

“Up Close & Personal with the White Lion”

I don’t know the name of the little guy…but he sure is cute!

Also included in our package was a special Q & A session after all other audience left the place. The following are several interesting questions paraphrased in my own words:

[B]loggers : Where are you from and how long have you been in this business?
[P]olo : We are from Spain. It has been a family business for generations..My family and I maintain and train the animals ourselves.

[B] : Since when have you been performing in Genting?
[P] : We initially were supposed to be here for 1 month as a start, then eventually we had such good response that we decided to stay for 6 months and here we are till now.

[B] : What do you feed the animals?
[P] : Mostly chicken meat and white meat…we don’t feed them red meat because we don’t want to get them used to the taste of blood …. O_O

[B] : Where do you keep the animals? Do you have a yard / farm like that?
[P] : We actually have a zoo back at home where we keep them.

[B] : How do you punish your animals if they misbehave? (animal cruelty test question)
[P] : The best way to punish these animals if they do anything bad is to put them in a cage and ignore them for a week. These guys are completely domestic and grew up surrounded by us and our love…they are like children. It is punishment enough to not give them the attention they want. Beating them with a stick is no use, even if you use a metal rod, they won’t feel a thing, so there is no point (smart anti-animal rights activist defense answer lol).

Last one:

[B] : Was there any worst accident that has happened throughout all your shows? Maybe one the animals got loose and ran into the crowd?
[P] : So far, nothing has happened, thank god. (Sure ah?)

The whole lobby outside Genting Main Hotel lobby was cordoned off…just for us. Strange but true, I have yet to find out why we were treated like VVVVVIPS wei. Just without the red carpet only.

I’m now officially Crumpler-fied

Long long time ago, I heard my bro say that he wanted to buy a bag.

A laptop bag, he said. To store and protect his laptop wherever he went.

At that time, my firm belief was to use the bags that CAME WITH the laptop, i.e. if you bought a Dell laptop, you get a Dell bag. Or when you buy a Sony laptop, you get a Sony bag.

That means Free lah. I’m a cheapo like that :D

And then I saw bro’s bag…

Crumpler ‘The Moderate Embarrassment’.

Then I saw his 2nd bag…

Crumpler ‘The Hee-goer’.

For such a silly name it sure looks good for a bag, and it’s pretty strong too.

And I have this Mount KK trip that’s coming up in less than 2 weeks time, and I look for my bags….

For a minute, try to ignore the silly look on my face and the pose, but look at the bags. One is an Uncle-type camera bag, and the other, a small day-sack (not obvious), that I brought up Gunung Datuk with Desmond in February. One’s on my back, and the other hangs by my side.

I remember that the climb was all fine, until the part where I had to climb up a ladder while squeezing through a small crack between two rocks.

I got stuck. Something in my mind told me that it’s terribly not normal that I should get stuck. I mean, the fatter Malay aunties before me got through, so I bloody should too! Imagine me with a slightly distressed look on my face..while the fatty (and heavier) aunties look down at me with the wtf face haha.

Red arrow : marks the Stuck Point. Even Desmond’s got that smirk on his face as if he already knew I was gona get stuck. The bugger.

Anyway, it was the camera bag that was hanging by the side that got me stuck. Very bad idea lah, to carry two bags.

So, I’m determined not to let it happen again. So, like my previous post said, today I went to KLCC with EGo to the one and only Crumpler shop in Malaysia.

The Customary Barge that stores Laptop + Camera + other stuff. A bit big but I guess that’s how backpacks would look. Right? ……Right? ^^

Anyway, I’m a very happy man now…new toy yeah!

I was so happy that I decided to go binge-eating with EGo and Leowazza at Jln Alor coz I didn’t get enough at Penang. Tonight’s was Satisfying as hell :D

Tomorrow’s Advertlet’s Genting event, who’s going? Free transport + makan + show + couple room. What could be better? (besides free casino chips) lol. Can’t wait to hang out with the blogger kaki again :) Renee I’ll see you there! We’ll find a spot where they have Tandoori chicken a’ight!

I’m just done sorting out the huge collection of pics taken during last weekend’s Penang trip… phew!

I tell you…out of 1200+ pics i filtered it down to…300+! Not much of filtering, but I can’t help it.. the pics *ahem takenbyme ahem* were so nice there weren’t many rejected ones.

In fact, there’s no reason to reject shots like this….

All these Priceless Shots. Tell me, how to reject man? xD

I’m tempted to do a post on it too, but I’ll sleep at 4am again if I do that…and since I have no Sebastian to help me drive tomorrow, might be a better idea to post a little later, say within 2 days.

I’ll be going to KLCC tomorrow after work to pick up something I’ve been searching for some time….

….you might guess it’s a camera / electronics but no it’s not.

….Though it does have to do with photography and preparation for my upcoming Mount KK trip….

Crumpler’s Customary Barge backpack designed to carry laptop + stuff + camera around. I likes.!

Sekelip mata saja I’ve fallen in love with it already. Especially when it means not having to carry two bags while climbing which can be quite a pain. So I’ll be headed down town tomorrow to check it out =)

And if I get it 2mr, I’d probably use it for this Thursday’s Advertlets’ Genting trip. I managed to persuade Psychkin to join me! ^o^ I’m particularly interested about the photo session with Jupiter the White Tiger..yes, my first camho session with a tiger!

I hear he’s quite tame. And…. he looks well-fed too, so I guess that makes it safe to stand near him without him trying to get a taste of me. We’ll find out when we’re there xD

I’m just back from probably the funnest Penang trip i’ve ever been on. As I mentioned before, this was this charity concert where Leonard’s band was invited to perform, so I tagged along as their unofficial official photographer lolx.

Krispy Kreme’s Media Launch @ Times Square omg donuts!

Are you ready?

The long wait is over. Krispy Kreme is in town!!

J Co and Big Apple, be very afraid.

Because you didn’t give me free donuts, I’m now an avid fan of KK. See how generous they are?

I’m not sure exactly how we’ll finish 2 dozen donuts tomorrow, but we’ll finish it anyhow xD

The media launch took place on a very busy Friday evening, where I innocently took the Federal Hi-way to KL. I thought it was still early until I saw…..

Damn crazy. One of the worse congestions I’ve been through. Lucky that it cleared up after Midvalley, coz the jam was from the bottleneck entering Seremban Highway. Any ideas what’s Seremban special this weekend? Seremban Siew Pau Launch?

Anyhow, the good news is, I got there in time. Early, in fact :)

We were hungry so we grabbed some Pizza at Papa John next door. Pretty good stuff. Thanks for the recommendation Josh. Next time eat the real Habanero peppers instead of the pickled ones you had today LOL.

But we wanted more. Our hunger was insatiable….nothing could stop us from getting within reach of those donuts….

Except for kebabs that were served just before the opening ceremony ^^

She wouldn’t dance for me no matter how hard I pestered her.

Pretty Candice and macho boyfriend were also anxiously waiting for donuts.

Welcome speech by Dato Vincent Lee and Jeff Welch. Business minded people that I need to learn from. And whom I wished the speech ended faster so I could get my hands on that yummy, glazed piece of pastry.

The whole show was officiated by the switching on of the symbolic logo that was synonymous to KK in all branches worldwide…..

Immediately, KK’s two most important guests were invited to usher the guests in.

At this point, my heart and stomach were a-flutter. Where was the donuts? How would I find them? Would they be available? All these questions shot across my mind until suddenly, an angel came and asked me…

Would you like a donut, sir?

Yes!

Yes! Yes! Yes!

How did it taste?

It’s sweet. Nicely sweet for most people, a little on the high side for some people. And the dough, oh the dough, it’s crazy good when it’s hot. So make sure you give it a spin in the microwave when you tapau.

And on this day, one of my ~~on-the-spot~~ new year resolutions was fulfilled. I finally met Hannah Tan in person, after hearing so much of her.

She’s really friendly, down to earth and she looks even better in person. I was so happy lor. Haha.

And without fail….all bloggers unite!!

Yes, when I say bloggers, I mean bloggers, including EGo who’s finally started his own blog at www.oegene.wordpress.com, after much persistent ‘encouragement’ from unknown forces lol.

Lat Tong lunch at Bangi sweat to the maxx

Pre-official visit to Uncle Anson’s (my neighbour) new factory before the actual ceremony on May 16.

Some of you may know, I used to work in Sony in Bandar Baru Bangi. After I quit 2 years back, I thought I never needed to go there again.

Today I found out that Uncle Anson’s new place is about 5 minutes from Sony. Huhu.

We had lunch at Restoran Kee V at Sg. Chua. That’s about 20 mins from the office coz you can’t find good Chinese chow near the office.

This joint specializes in their ‘Lat Tong’ & other potted spicy sweaty food goodness. Pics are in EGo’s camera, but the verdict is…..

With so many other supporters, the pressure was on!

Even the pretty Hotlink girls (Xin Yi & Janice) were there to watch us win also!

Tell me, how could we lose??

Ahh…but sometimes..you can never tell.

Our game lasted only 3 minutes. Just 3, and we were out. I actually had hopes of getting into semis or finals, but maybe over-confidence was the first mistake we made.

And…carelessness / lack of training / planning / strategy? We find out in the post mortem later.

Good thing team Revolution was there to avenge our ‘death’ lol.

As humiliating an exit as it was, it’s important to remember :

Quiksilver & Roxy made me miss Sushi king :(

So this is how a media goodie bag looks like.

That came from yesterday’s Fashion Week event with Quiksilver & Roxy up on stage in Midvalley.

It’s kinda funny that I never posted for a week, and all of a sudden I’m talking about a fashion launch.

I’ll tell you why.

Remember I was without my PC for a week? I had it sent for repair..and for a whole week, I was using I.E. Which naturally sucked, was slow, couldn’t open many tabs without lagging..

..in short, the least conducive blogging environment. I couldn’t update myself with other people’s blogs (sorry!) without getting frustrated. So, blogging-mood went down to an all new low level. And so did Facebooking.

Strangely, I found that it wasn’t such a bad thing. I had more time for rest / focus in work / etc. I could even sleep early coz I knew the damn replacement PC wouldn’t load anything for me when I’m back at 11pm. So shower, read, sleep.

Makes me wonder. Did I really need all these? Do I really need all these?

I guess that could go on, and eventually go crazy wondering if I got tagged in some photo / invited to some event / stalked by a hot chick / blacklisted by readers etc…

Sigh. Needs and wants. And since I’m here, you can guess that I gave in xD

Nigel Sia is this big, friendly guy who invited us that day.

He’s using the same 40D as me, but the way he holds it makes it look like a really small toy.

By the way, this is me, in my future paintball suit. Sure brings back the nostalgia of Counter Strike eh? heh heh..!

Blog Machine out of order

Hello all!

I'm currently blogging from blogger itself, instead of from the usual Live Writer, coz my pc's been sent for repair yesterday.

What actually happened was that the LCD panel jumped out of the frame, and it's quite scary I don't dare close it too hard in case it pecah and spills all the liquid all over lol jkjk.

Anyway, it's in the workshop (i'm not disclosing which brand it is, nanti rosak image-nya) so I'm temporarily using a spare laptop (for as long as a week). And this laptop runs on vista.

And it sucks so bad that I tried to install my old programs on it, and nothing, nothing seems to work. Firefox, Chrome, Live Writer, Itunes, my most frequently used programs, all don't work. I've tried turning off firewall, UAC etc and it still don't bloody work!

Boy am I glad that I downgraded my own pc from vista to xp.

Anyway all this takes the fun out of blogging, so I'm not gona be updating as before. Probably just text, no nice / funny / chick pics for awhile..until I get back my pc *sobs*. Which I hope can be ready earliest by end of next week. I'm being very hopeful on that.

Marvel Comics' Response to the Economic Recession

Yesterday, I saw something that would leave many Marvel Comics fans quite depressed.

All the time, I thought that Marvel Comics would be independent, and could survive as just Marvel comics / Marvel merchandise / Marvel movies without needing to resort to other means of generating income.

I was wrong.

Who would imagine that even Marvel could be affected by the economic weather, and had to diversify to other 'less-prestigious' means of survival ?

The father of Marvel Comics', Stan Lee, apparently has decided to move into the F & B business. And I was the first to check out Stan Lee's new establishment...

...yesterday, at Restoran Ming Chu outside my house.

Earth Hour Michaelangelo Blackout @ Sunway Pyramid

This'll be a quick post on Earth Hour in Pyramid, cause I never actually planned to join it.

My initial plan to:

- gym -> chao

turned into:

- gym-with-Wei Luen -> makan -> Earth Hour -> bowling in summit -> then only chao

The incredible power of distraction consumes me. hehe.

I took evening shots before I reached pyramid.

I wanted to bring out the feeling that even trees were in the 'darkish' Earth Hour mood hence this shot. I never tried silhouette shots before so I think this is a very very very very very x 1000 nice shot ya.

After 2 hours of ~~gay~~ gym with Wei Luen, I made it to the old wing lobby, under the Lion head. I didn't ask if it was there, I just felt that it was there so I went there.

True enough, there was a crowd there gathered and waiting for lights to go off!

I pulled out my camera, switched it on, and like the pro photographers, dengan stylo I put my hand into the bag again....

...to find no flash.

I wanted to die on the spot there man. On an event where there's no light, I forgot to bring my flash! EPIC fail!

So no choice. Use built-in baby flash LOL. I just felt so not used to it cause if I use flash, it's gota be with flashgun. Never baby-flash.

I do expect more carelessness like this in the future...especially if going out in a rush. sighs.

But baby flash ain't all that bad yo.

Yup, the same shot above was with baby-flash. OKay lah.

Sunway College students were the main part of the crew and planned a cute presentation for us. A group of guys dressed in fluorescent white clothes appeared with neon painted plastic containers improvised as drums.

Couldn't get a wider view cause a lot of aunties were behind me and I couldn't move backwards. Skali bang the wrong body part then I kena man..that time I'll be the one that kena drum kao kao.

Next up was a remake of Kitaro's-what's-that-very-popular-song. It sounded pretty good, and the flutist was impressive.

Subang Assemblywoman Hannah Yeoh was there to grace the ceremony.

I can't think of anything funny to write. Cause there was nothing funny that happened! T_T

I was impatiently waiting for 12am to see what was gona happen.

And at 12...Lights Out!

Only outside Pyramid lah. Inside Pyramid, all lights and aircond still full blast. Haha. Security issues I suppose. The lights you see here are only from the stage, most lights outside were off already.

Perhaps the most exciting feature of the night was the ambassador of Sunway Pyramid, Xandria Ooi, who emcee-d the event.

You might recognize her as this....

Dunno why she looked a lil different from the magazines. Perhaps due to using my baby-flash.

A quick search on her reveals :

At first I wanted to do Gila pose but I had a feeling it'll be shiok sendiri coz I would be the only one doing it so...*strong self restrain and stops myself from pulling a donkey face*. Sighs. Mix too much with Patrick and Wei Luen already xD

Ok, something quite funny.

While many of the shops in Pyramid proudly turned on their lights MAXIMUM, some were quite semangat and turned off half their lights, and some, most of their lights..like Starbucks.

You still can see the counter..people..pastries..

People like me with laptops will be very tulan haha.

But this is the one that wins all other shops hands down.

I think Michaelangelo decided that they wanted to go back to stone age and turn off EVERYTHING.

I walked even closer and took another shot.

Still nothing! Wah damn black can. They don't even give candles to their customers wei! Actually I wanted to take another shot with flash....but, you never know what kind of erm...objects may appear in the flash lo. I ain't taking my chances lol.

Cry Like a Chee Bye, ZOUK's Vth Anniversary

I really don't know how to explain how the title came about, but it was something that Renee said in the car on the way to Zouk that made me laugh.

She said so candidly 'something something, sure cry like a cheebye'. So I also said candidly 'let's make that our next post title!'. Sure enough someone else was crazy enough to agree to that xD

Cheebye can cry one?

Technically / biologically possible, but the comparison was funny at the moment. It don't seem so funny now lol, but in the car, everyone was high..

I always loved Zouk's dome design with phazing colors. The designer is a genius.

We were early. Very early...who goes clubbing at 9pm one? But we were told that it started that time so we came that time..Supposed to be VIP, but where's d red carpet?? che-wah lagak. xD

There were props all over the place, aliens / dancing objects, harujuku girls, and every other thing you could imagine!

Were these mushrooms or spring rolls? I have no idea.

But all I knew was that there was LIGHT and COLORS. Enough to drive any photographer wild ^o^

And of course, there were the people. It was total fun, being able to recognize faces and yelling 'HEYYYYYYY so and so,Whasuppppp!! You look great!'

I tell you, the girls were so, very, dressed to kill. Wowie.

I read today's sports section in the thestar.com.my and saw this:

Until I read further and saw...

I can so relate to that in my nasty little incident last November in Greater Noida, India.

“I am always careful of the food whenever I go for competitions. But we had no choice because it was difficult to get food if we returned late to the hotel.

Where did you both go la late at night? huh? huh? xD

“We even had to buy water from outside and that was only possible if the bus stopped at a mini market on the way back.

“I hope the conditions improves when we return for the world championships. I will not be surprised if some of the players chose not to go.”

Apparently, there were also 4-5 other players who had food poisoning. I gota say he's quite a fighter for turning up at the games. I remember clearly that I was quite immobile for 2 days during the duration of my *ahem*lausai*ahem*. LOLx.

Streetfighters & Int'nl Hot Air Balloon Fiesta 2009 @ Putrajaya

I love hectic weekends.

Coz when your engine's on during weekends, it takes less energy to start it up again for Monday. The bad thing is you wonder where the weekend's gone to when it's already over.

So, I decided that I don't wanna do anything on this Sunday. As in, no outing, just stay home, chill, surf / do work etc. Just be a bleddy pig xD

What happened last weekend?

I slept 2 hours on Sunday morning to catch the International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta in Putrajaya early in the morning! *excited like kampung boy*

There was supposed to be at least 10 of us at the event but so so sad to say most couldn't make it. You know lah, Sat night..people could have been partying and getting themselves hammered..or 'Sunburst'ing..or don't feel like getting up on a Sunday morning..ish. What. I slept 2 hours ok you guys :P

Next time lah ok. Kita naik belon bersama sama xD

And here's the Hensem and Lenglui smangat people who decided to go for it:

Quite the rush that morning that I forgot to shave again as you can see. From L2R Psychkin, EVo, Wei Luen, Ellie Missycheerio, EGo!

Getting to Putrajaya was one thing, finding the ballooning area was another. It's not that you can see them floating from far like fireworks, coz they're all limp and erm, flaccid before inflating haha.

But we fooooound it! I got soo excited when we saw the balloons lying all over the ground ready to be blown!

This guy excited until air liur meleleh ahahahahaha.

Jeng jeng jeng!

I'm quite paiseh to say that I've never been to a hot air balloon show except for the one at Bangsar Village last year that rose for 10 minutes after 2391824137198237 attempts and flew across the roof and terkoyak so everyone had to pack up and go home.

So quite naturally, we went crazy and started snapping all over!

There were orange and 'ellie'phant design balloons..

We had a 15 minute window to enter the field from 7.45 to 8.15 to get these close up shots...and if you didn't have a camera you had to stay outside. Happened that Wei Luen brought 2 cams so Psychkin could enter, but he decided to stay outside and shiok sendiri lolx. Thanks Wei Luen.

Axiao was also there with her sisters..smangat also!

We also met Hiew at McD before the event and found out that he was going there too. But couldn't find him amongst all the balloons...it was nice meeting you all the same dude!:)

*Ahem* *ahem*

And what is a blogger outing session without our Gilababi camho series!

I particularly like the Nescafe balloon coz it's the same color as our baju that day all red!

Wah so many vertical shots. Must post back some horizontal shots.

Me and the Sista! (I can't help feeling like I look abit like Marcus-my-brother-from-a-different-mother with this facial expression). Of coz more macho lah. Ahaa.

Suddenly the two girls morphed into Cartoon characters. I like this very cute.

The hot-air balloons 'fun-fly', as they call it was over in 45 minutes and we were asked to clear the field. So clever la these people. Drive us to the other side where there was a pesta waiting for us to fall into their trap. Yeah, the Tweety Bird and Mickey Mouse balloons above cost RM5 each. Kena potong man.

Balloon probably costs RM 0.50, so we paid RM4.50 for the gas to fill it up. Pay me RM 4.50 and I'll give you ALLLL the gas you need. With complimentary aroma keke.

OK, other fun stuff!

This is a big plastic ball where kids (or adults if you really want to) can get in and run it around the field for 15-20 minutes.

I just call it the Giant Hamster Ball.

There was also another activity called the NordBall (I think) that used a similar ball, but a waterproof one. To be played on water.

First, you have to package your subject like this.

Notice the little boy in the red shirt. That's our subject.

Then you blow up the ball and set him afloat to, hopefully, do a few laps around the lake.

Finding your balance is never easy. It takes time and patience. And lots of floundering.

How can you even call this fun!

And because the ball was completely airtight, the poor boy couldn't hear anything and had no idea that everyone was laughing (and also taking pics of his misery).. so he came out feeling like a hero lolx.

So after awhile we got bored of balloons and balls and we went to play video games.

Hahahaha. Actually we started with some decent jumpshots.

And even jumpshots became boring so EGo suggested to simulate a fighting-pek-yau scene....soo.....

Hahahaha.

So EGo wins the first round and moves to next round. Some kid came in as a new challenger.

Kid also kantoi!

Next challenger also quite geng.

But EGo proves that he's not simple stuff and finishes the game...

I think my story could possibly be better than Streetfighter 4 that's showing now eh.

Finally we decided to go back!

Check out Jason's and Rames posts on the event. These guys went on the same day but in the evening where the sun was totally awesome. The lighting turned out much much better than my shoots..their pics damn niiiiice check it out. Wish I could've gone in the evening too!

And it's not just dinner at night. It's from preparation in the morning til dinner in evening til karaoke at night and tea session at midnight. And Sunburst is 2pm to 2am.

It felt like the Sun just Burst on me man.

This Malay-sounding title was the quickest I could think of when writing this post, thanks to my 30 minutes lepak in Sg Wang today.

It directly means 'negative social symptoms, makes me effin pissed'

After my meeting, I went back to Sg Wang where EGo's car was parked and walked around awhile before leaving.

This sight is not uncommon to most of us who frequent KL nowadays.

I'll be honest.

I hate the sight of these people hanging around dressed up like punks, wannabe rockstars doing absolutely nothing or just being plain faggots.

Or trying to look like Jason Mraz, like this fella above.

I know it's school hols, but is this their idea of having fun?

Just slacking, lazing around like junkies, or crowding the passageways like a group of useless gang members?

It's like Sg Wang turned into a huge Freakshow hangout circus, and the theme is 'The Weirder the Better'. It's sickening lor.

It's worse than this, I'm sure most of us have seen before. God knows what they define as 'fashion'.

And it's so bad that I felt out of place wearing jeans and a normal shirt. Quite wtf right?

Rames & Jason Strip, i mean, Stripe party!

My millions and thousands apologeez dear readers!

It's been over a week since my last update and you guys have been persistently coming..thank you. I had a hectic week and to top it off, an acid bath yesterday. Oh it burns baby, it burns!

Acid bath-ed the staircase in the office, I mean. Someone made a mistake of pouring half the bottle on the whole flight of stairs and it wasn't humanly possible to walk into the huge acid cloud for 20 minutes ahhhhhh! Visibility was worse than a desert sandstorm.

I had to use an umbrella in the office itself to save my ass from the acids pouring overhead. That's how bad it was. Whose mistake I shall not announce here....haha..!

Anyway I'm on self declared MC today.

So that I can updates!

I had a very happy gathering at The Gardens on Saturday during Rames and Jason's 2xth and 2xth respectively birthday party.

Notice I mentioned Rames then only Jason, meaning Rames could be probably (much) older than Jason. Muahaha.

There were many pics that I took, but there's one that I keep looking at and I like it. So expressive, so happy, so....

I don't think they're THAT crazy about superhero shirts wei. But I'm glad they liked it haha. The look on their faces are priceless!..I think if I kena lottery also I won't look like that lor ahaha.

Anyway the makan was at Flying Chillies @ The Gardens, where I've SEEN this place before, but never actually NOTICED it. From the name, can you even tell that it serves THAI food? Can't right?

But they do. It's quite nice :) this is what 4 of us (Psychkin, Misscheerio, EGo + myself) ordered.

4-combo appetizer, glass noodle salad, pandan chicken and 1 spicy tomyam hotpot. Not enuf to make me full :(

And as usual, everyone was camwhoring! And it's crazy crazy getting out of hand! Woohoo!

Coz it's pink color and makes me look a bit like a pastry. Dunno why =(

Suddenly, Psychkin met Eunice! Who happens to be her classmate Lai Cheng's cousin.

I also met Eunice before but had to talk to her awhile only I remembered ^^ memory lapse sial.

And suddenly, I met Cindy Cheok! Who I've been stalking her blog awhile until I finally met her that night!

Josh.my Mr advertlets Yakuza paintball centerback was there too!

I know it's not polite to snap people while they're eating but I purposely wait til they're ready one okayyy...

Some people make a wish with their hands on their hearts...while some do that with their hands on their crotch..

I can't remember the last time I had this many presents on my birthday man. Notice that everyone's staring enviously at the them from behind (that includes the cameraman).

Presents from the Siao Gang, Josh Lime, Psychkin, Ellie, Ego and myself.

That's when they discovered these nice shirts that were unsuspectingly wrapped in beg plastik biasa but just look at them two.

Priceless.

Rames had a special something for Jason...

It looked like he was a pimp giving Ellie to Rames or something. What is this.

Eh, it does look like it wor...she's even helping him pakai baju pulak. Rames looks quite satisfied also lolx.

All of a sudden...my uni buddy Wei Luen came out from nowhere! hahaha...

Apparently, he just finished a wedding dinner next door and was on his way back when he noticed this crazy, Noisy, Barbaric gang of people flashing each other with their cameras. So he joined us camho too!

Yup, my Monash uni mate. One of the GilaBabi gang members during uni days and still GilaBabi now haha...

Rames & Jason was also really so awesomely thoughtful to get a prezzie for Psychkin's birthday, also in March.

Pokai betul la this month. CC bill sudah mencapai RM x000+ ady so my plans to acquire a new camera also have to put off til later :(

But still, very happy lor. Dinner with these happening people with my sayang also. Oh, I've yet to post on how she got hammered on her birthday, so look out for that too. Muahahahaaaa.

Food : 4/5 -   Food was fresh, tomyam wasn't sour enuf, appetizers were good.
Price : 3/5   -   RM50 / pax. I was hungry.
Ambience : 4/5   -   It's in Gardens so it Has to look nice.
Service : 3.5/5   -   I had to ask them 3 times to get me some bowls. Were they really that busy?

Anime & Manga Night without Anime & Manga : Prologue

I expected:

(and lots of ~~hentai~~ comics, figurines, posters, merchandise, toys etc)...

....But I got this instead.

Yup, a TV screen playing Anime and Manga.

I reached club Fahrenheit about 9 after an hour of bumper kissing traffic on LDP.

It's quite disappointing when you get there to find that the Anime organizer decided to pull out last minute.

Babi betul.

Good thing that the main organizer, Fumi of local band John's Mistress, kept the show going!

But I'm still disappointed about the Anime people. Even Doraemon's presence would have been nice.

Blog Renovation | Malaysian International Dance Championship 2009

Welcome to a different EVo's Space everyone!

As quite obviously noticeable, I have slightly modified this place. Not a different theme but some adjustments:

(1) The first thing you may notice is the Twitter bar above! Apparently Twitter gained tremendous growth over the past 6 months and everyone's crazy about Twittering.

I ain't got the slightest idea why, but that's why I installed the bar. To find that out.

So as a start, if you're on Twitter, click on the 'follow me' button up there, or click here if you don't see the cute blue bird. You stalk me, I stalk you, fair ma.

This twitter bar will serve as my status update, like in Facebook. So that I get to 'live feed' my blog and be closer to my readers. Yes, You ahahaa.

(2) I finally got rid of the 3-column layout *YES*

Last time I thought that having more columns would allow viewers to see more without having to scroll down, then I realized it was a waste of precious space that could be used to scale up my pics. That's lagi best. 3 column looks cluttered as well. So 2-column it is for me now.

(3) Blog header. It's pathetic now and I need a nice banner! That'll be my homework but I'm trying not to forget that I'm still designing Leonard's banner for him lolx.

Talking about new blog layout, Rames my macha also has a new and cool layout. Rames also turns 29 today! Wei almost 30 yrs old dude xD Happy Birthday! =)

Ok as promised, here's the post from The Malaysian Dance Championship in Genting! OMG here come the picchassss!!

When I reached, the event already started..damn. What happened to 'fashionably late' Malaysian events'?

I travelled far and wide here to give my support to..Wei Luen!

Do not make the mistake of judging his dancing from the size of his ~~belly~~ body. This guy is so nimble that even Elvis Presley will surrender to him in a 1-to-1 dance face-off.

Actually this earlier shots were che-kai a bit coz I forgot to take off my diffuser. So everyone looked strangely orange.

Only after this point that I took of the diffuser. Damn fail.

I finally met Arhnue after 10-ish years after schooldays!

So happened her dad was the announcer for the event so she took 2 days leave to come co-announce. Smangat betul. I know she don't look too happy in this pic though. Coz that time I hadn't went up to her and said hi yet. You should've seen her after we chatted. All smiles thanks to me XD

Ching's one of the nicest friendliest girls around, and she's an instructor herself! I want private lessons from her ahahah..

The excitement really started when ballroom was over and it was time for Hiphop.

As I was there from the start of hiphop, I had a clearer picture of the sequence of events.

And it started with this guy who was quite surprising.

I never got to know this girl but she was really good and finished podium. And she's cute.

She did well but couldn't take podium this time...next year girl! =)

I admire how much discipline these contestants put into training. You gota be bloody strong for this!

My own mum won't admit me as her son if I made myself look like this.

And the champion of the hip-hop team category goes to these girls that were, truly, impressive. They had me at the edge of my seat and had the right moves at the right moments. Damn nice lor.

I was watching and waiting for this girl's mother-elephant-super-size pants to fall but unfortunately they held up.

This shot of Wei Luen clearly shows his prime confidence oozing out of his cleavage. Charming.

If you do have weight issues, do avoid wearing sexy / lacy / semi transparent costumes or it may result in loss of appeal. Or, pull your pants up higher if you really have to go with the sexy shirt.

And last but not least, make sure you use Rexona should you ever take part in a competition.

Malaysian International Dance Championship 2009 - Prologue

Today was the first time that I went up to Genting without going to casino since I was 21.

And today was also the first time that I went up there....ALONE.

That's what happens when you over-aspire to be a photographer like those in Discovery Channel..travelling around the world snapping pics without friends tagging along.

Aiyah. Even those pros also have their own assistants right..those that help to carry bag and etc.

But I wanted to feel it for myself..and well, it's a pretty good experience.

Not that I like to be alone, but, it's different and it gave me a different, more serious perspective towards photography. I like it.

But I'm too sleep to write long story now (coz there's paintball training 2mr..another military 5 hours training). I'm gona be such a soldier. And kena bake in the sun too. But I'm looking forward to it.

So here's a group pic taken today of Wei Luen and friends who had my undying support today (even though I was 1/2 hour late). I'll post on more it in 2 days.

I tell you...the females (including belly dancers) dancers were like so...argh.

You gota see it to believe how hot they were.If not..you think I'll patiently sit there for hours snapping them meh?..hehe..

Groovin' Coconuts

I'm just back from the soft launch of my good ol' friend Vishnu's new joint.

It's called Govinds!

Jacob, Phoebe, Psychkin & me were there today.

And of course, tauke was there :D

Very nice place. nestled in busy Klang, near the Kesas highway.

Kidding only. THIS is Govind's.

Serving an exotic selection of Asian and continental fusion gourmet, it's probably the next most happening restaurant you'll find there. The food's great, though there was only Asian cuisine today. Would've loved to have tried the continental, but it's available only after the main launch. I sure will gona be there =)

And the setup was mainly handled by Vishnu. Pretty impressive, friend.
