As I'm adjusting to regularly posting a fashion blog, I do have a great yearning to knowing my audience better. In the 10+ years of my own modeling career, what I have enjoyed the most is creative collaboration with the people I shoot with. Its such a great joy when I work with new models and photographers to see what kinds of wardrobe everyone packs out of their own closets. Everyone's own individual flair represents a part of themselves that is truly unique.

I am a regular reader of Vogue, Marie Claire, Elle and Harper's Bazaar, and while its fun to check out the designers' new fashions in this season, how often do we really get to wear what's out in the fashion magazines? It seems more appropriate to showcase what people are really wearing these days.

I've browsed through a few of my own albums to find some photos of my own in which I had chosen to wear some personal favorites out of my closet. Now, I want to see the same from some of the readers and fans of PNT TV. What are your favorite outfits to wear, especially now that we're breaking into Spring? I'd love to share photos on this blog of YOU in what you love to wear the most.

Upcoming this year, I plan to start a few new shoot projects in which to showcase specifically for this blog. TOMBOi will be a fashion series featuring models flaunting their favorite tomboy inspired outfits with a particularly grungy feel. "Collegiate Closet" will be a new project in which I will be photographing college students in their elements, strictly as is with no preparation as their cruising down the hallways.

Well, ladies, that time of the year is back again. The day we dedicate to the special someone's in our lives, opening up our hearts to express the love and gratitude we have towards that other person we feel so strongly for. Its certainly a prime time for sharing sentimental cards and special gifts intended for that special someone.

Jewelry is a common offer of loving exchange to someone, as it carries with it a beautiful message. The earrings, necklaces, bracelets and rings we wear are extensions of identity represented in beautifully colorful and textural forms. The jewelry that I wear all have special meanings to me, whether they were gifts to myself (yes, I do buy my own jewelry as I too like to show myself gratitude) or special gifts from others that I can wear to remind myself constantly of the love that surrounds me. I believe that jewelry carries specific energies within that hold these feelings of love, beauty and appreciation, and I never pass an opportunity to compliment others on the beautiful pieces they wear, for it always sparks a smile that I know reinforces their memory of where it came from.

With it now being a little over a month since our new year's resolutions and the beginning of the positive year 2014, now is the perfect time to express the love deep inside of you to the person you care most about, and what better way than to give the gift of a beautiful and meaningful piece of jewelry to remind her that she's loved and cherished.

For this blog I have had the incredible opportunity to interview Rony Tennenbaum, a veteran Jewelry designer with 25 year-experience in jewelry manufacturing. He launched his same-sex couples engagement, wedding, and anniversary ring company in 2008 after recognizing the need for LGBT wedding jewelry that went beyond rainbows and triangles. All of Rony’s jewelry designs are inspired and informed by his commitment to marriage equality. His signature LVOE Collection embraces his belief that love is love no matter how you spell it.

“I am an avid believer that everyone has a natural birth right to wed anyone they choose, under their own personal belief system and confess their love to one another before the world in any manner. In turn, I believe that society has an obligation to accept every union, commitment, partnership, marriage equally without prejudice or judgment.” ~ Rony Tennenbaum

I was interested in asking Rony a few questions about picking out jewelry for a loved one for Valentine's Day and inquired on his professional experience as a jewelry designer the messages behind jewelry gifts and the best ways in choosing an appropriate piece for your partner.

When it comes to planning that perfect Valentine’s Day gift, how do you chose the perfect piece of jewelry?

Most of my line is a very intimate line of jewelry to begin with, because it really emphasizes the engagement and wedding process. However, a lot of the pieces are really about love and connection between two people. I have a collection called LVOE, Love is love no matter how you spell it, and that's a perfect way to purchase for your loved one, with a love ring. That is something that is very sentimental and close to heart. In addition to that, there is a lot of jewelry today that is made with Rose Gold, which is also a perfect opportunity for a Valentines Day Gift.

In choosing jewelry pieces for significant others, would it be wise to choose a jewelry style they've already expressed to enjoy, or to buy a piece that is different from any other jewelry they typically wear?

There's two schools of thought here. If its something she's already known to have worn in the past, such as earrings or a necklace, then maybe she favors that. But on the other hand, there are differenat areas of the body that might be missing out, like a beautiful bracelet or a ring. On the downside to that, with rings for example, you would need to know finger size where everything else in body jewelry is more generic. You can buy earrings for someone and not have to know their finger size. So a ring is something that's always a teeny tiny bit more intimate and personal, so if you do want to get a ring, its important to at least know the finger size. Now, in giving jewelry we don't want to run the risk of miscommunication in its meaning.

What would be ways to avoid your partner misinterpreting a ring for a proposal if that is not the case?

That's a common conversation that has been had over the generations that is always being talked about. There are gifts that are given for high school sweethearts, in your younger years, and they just want to buy a pretty ring for someone and just wants it to be sentimental but not too sentimental or too deep. There is definitely a distinction between design elements. A ring that has a single stone in the middle is a solitaire ring which is categorized as an engagement ring, which may not be the best or wisest choice in design. If you're getting a ring with the word LOVE on it, or a pretty little dainty ring that has some diamonds on it, there's no harm in getting a ring as a gift, as long as its really not presented out of a box and on one knee, you should be fine (chuckles). There is always a way of presenting it without having a wedding or engagement connotation.

Diamond stud earrings are believed to always be a hit, but are they an appropriate Valentine’s Day gift?

I always say there is no such thing as an inappropriate gift, I do believe that jewelry is a very acceptable and very desired gift to be receiving at Valentines Day. Not everyone's pocketbook can acquire such lavish gifts on Valentines Day, they sometimes keep those for other special occasions such as birthdays or anniversaries, Valentines Day is just as good an occasion as any for someone who wants to reach out and spend that money, so I don't see anything wrong with it. Its definitely a show of your love and devotion.

What does gold say versus silver?

Both of them are considered to be a fine metal or a high end metal. The difference is that gold, unlike silver, has a much longer lifespan and it remains shiny and sparkly. It's a more durable metal whereas silver, although it is a beautiful metal and it is used quite a lot in jewelry, it has more of a tendency to tarnish, and tarnish means that it does change over time in color and loses a little bit of its life and luster over its lifespan. It's much more affordable, so people tend to purchase more silver jewelry as day to day gifts, its not something that is as extravagant as buying a piece of gold jewelry.

Are there any suggestions for purchases from YOUR collection for anyone interested in purchasing your jewelry for a Valentines Day gift this year?

Anything that has to do with love I definitely always approach the LVOE collection, because it does have a lot of different love messages. There are eight different languages that I write love in, that's always very sentimental. There is the Pink Gold that I mentioned earlier, anything that has gold in it would be a great Valentines Day gift. A good suggestion is stones. I do make some things with beautiful pink sapphires or pink diamonds, so anything that adds a little flair to it or has a little pink in it makes it wonderful for Valentines Day.

Welcome to EWrapped in Pink!

I've always been very proud of being female. I think I might have been five or six when I asked my mother when walking to the bus stop if two girls could get married. She said yes, they could. I never had to ask again, because I was assured since kindergarten that 'liking girls' was acceptable, and it became a big part of who I am now, 20 years later as an adult.
While not trying to start a 'cooties debate' about the benefits and perks of being a girl is over being a boy, there are so many beautiful and aesthetic aspects to being a woman. A very significant one is in our wide array of options in which we can choose to express ourselves in what we wear.

We can rock any color from one end of the color spectrum to the other, choose which accessories suit us best and accentuate the features we love most about ourselves, and put it all on a canvas to walk around and share with others - "Hey, this is who I am." Appreciate.

While fashion in today's world is a mathematical guide on what's 'in style', I'm a strong believer in truly rocking your own look. Growing up, I was inspired by many different women and the clothes that they wore, whether it was the models on the runway when my Mom and I watched fashion shows on TV, or other girls in school who dared to dress unlike everyone else.

I have had a variety of my own styles and clothing preferences in my life. My "middle school tomboy" self still loves baggy cargo pants, basketball shorts with tight tops (thank you Aaliyah) and my DC Skate kicks. The "pretend moviestar" side collects dresses and gowns in all colors and styles that come out when going to the Ballet or to feel radiantly fancy during my next photo shoot. But oh, my "naughty sex kitten" owns a collection of babydoll negligees and vibrant, sexy lingerie for when I get raw to my core and need to express myself in the bedroom (ow ow!) ;) Then I have my "vintage hippie" that is a PRO at scouring the thrift shops and alternative clothing stores for a more natural and bohemian look that nurtures my spirit.

I had a good friend once who I came to know and admire first by appreciating her artform of accessorizing. I met her working at a video store for the summer, where our dress code was set to fairly business casual, but Bonnie always came to work wearing different bracelets, necklaces and earrings, making her a truly unique treat to look at with all of her sparkle, shine and added texture. When I began to see her outside of work I saw even more to her personal style which was splattered with cut up band t-shirts, fun hats, sexy corsets, different colors in her hair, and her jewelry collection would make any girl envious. I loved not knowing what she was going to be wearing the next time I saw her, and it was always a refreshing and unique surprise. What I admired most about her was that her style was truly HER. She wore what she liked, what she thought looked good regardless of what was 'in' at the time, and said she dressed herself in the morning for how she felt that day. I find myself doing that every morning when I wake up now.

How do I feel? What can I wear today that matches that feeling and can express it on the outside? What other accessories can I incorporate that will help create the mood I am in?

The title from a Nico Vega song "We Are the Art" comes to mind when I try to explain that our bodies, our physical forms, are the canvases in which we use to channel our life energy. How we dress expresses how we feel. There's a certain honesty to it, surely you don't let anyone else dress you? When we can find fashionable and positive ways to dress how we feel, we are better able to express on the outside how we feel on in the inside, allowing the people we interact with to get a better glimpse of who that person really is.

What I love about women is that we are all built differently and are a very diverse community when it comes to our looks. I do not believe that any woman is more beautiful than another, I see people for their spirits and the person they are. We are who we are and we should feel joy in sharing who we are with the world. If we all imitated the looks of the celebrities we admired most, then we would all start to look the same, wouldn't we? We are women, and this blog is meant to celebrate EQUALITY, paying respects to all women of any size, any color, and any sexuality. Although pink may not be all of our favorite colors, it does represent femininity and who we are as a sexual race. We are those beautiful beings "wrapped in pink", in the feminine nature in which we are born. Let's celebrate it!

With being graced with the winter season (especially us in these colder regions) I enjoy finding ways in which to accessorize for the weather. My favorite treasure I've come across this year are these black and white fingerless gloves I came across through a friend's store (pictured). While a lot of us talk with our hands, they are very expressive indicators on our bodies, and what a fun way to jazz them up.

Express yourself, ladies, in how you dress. Tomorrow, when you wake up, close your eyes and try to identify how you feel. How would you express that through color and texture? What can you wear today that can help bring that feeling outside onto your physical body? Let people see who you really are, and have fun with it.
