INSTRUCTIONS TO USE

Download the spreadsheet and ENABLE MACROS.

Microsoft Excel 2003 users, click TOOLS menu, select SECURITY and select the MEDIUM option. Now when you open the EURO 2008 spreadsheet, click ENABLE MACROS.
Microsoft Excel 2007 users, click the OFFICE LOGO, click EXCEL OPTIONS at the bottom, click TRUST CENTER, click TRUST CENTER SETTINGS, click MACRO SETTINGS and select DISABLE ALL MACROS WITH NOTIFICATION option. Now when you open the EURO 2008 spreadsheet, there would be a notification message SECURITY WARNING MACROS HAVE BEEN DISABLED. Click the OPTIONS button to the right and select ENABLE THIS CONTENT.
You need to do this just once before opening the spreadsheet. You can fully trust the spreadsheet and macros are written only to reduce the size and improve the functionality of the euro 2008 spreadsheet.

Select your team from the WELCOME sheet. This shows you the fixtures and results, groups standings and the team squad for your favorite team. This sheet automatically generates everything. So no need to enter anything in this sheet.
Once you select your team in the WELCOME sheet, then it is automatically highlighted in the SCHEDULE sheet. In the SCHEDULE sheet, enter the scoreline after each match is completed (we update this after every match day. So if you don't update just download our spreadsheet again). The spreadsheet automatically calculates the result. The winning team is shown in GREEN, the losing team in RED , and if the match ends in a draw, then both the teams are highlighted in BLUE. Just fill the scoreline and it would automatically generate group standings and points. If the match is decided on penalty, then enter the penalty scoreline.
To know the match timings in your country, select your COUNTRY from the country list.
There are no passwords for the worksheet. Simply unprotect it and explore the formulas. The password for the VBA project is euro2008

The BCCI backed IPL is going to start on 18th APR 2008. Follow the action with our useful and easy to use IPL spreadsheet. Just enter the runs scored, wickets fallen and the overs bowled and the spreadsheet would take care of other calculations. If you feel bored with entering scores, just select the winner from the results box. If you are so fussed, then just download our spreadsheet, we would keep it updating till the IPL is over.

INSTRUCTIONS TO USE

Follow these simple instructions to use the IPL cricket schedule

If you are a Excel 2003 user, Go to Tools->Macro->Security and select MEDIUM. Reopen the workbook and click ENABLE MACROS. If you are a Excel 2007 user, click the OPTIONS button below the ribbon and and select ENABLE THIS CONTENT. This is required for the proper working of the workbook. Trust us, there are no viruses or adware in our workbook.
In the "WELCOME" sheet, select your favorite team from the MY TEAM drop down box. This would show the IPL schedule and the squad for your favorite team. Click on a player name and it would show the profile of the player (you should have enabled Internet Connection). It would also highlight your team in other worksheets.
Now enter the scores in the "SCHEDULE" sheet. Enter runs, wickets fallen and the overs or you may just select the winner from the RESULTS box. But you should enter the runs, wickets and overs to show up details in the "WELCOME" sheet. If you are fussed about all this, just download the spreadsheet from this site. We would update it regularly till the end of the IPL.
The POINTS TABLE automatically calculates and shows the team with the highest points first. If you have entered the runs, wickets and overs completely in the "SCHEDULE" sheet then there would be no problem in automatically updating the POINTS TABLE
See MATCH TIMINGS in your country in the "MATCH TIMINGS" sheet. Just select the country from the drop down box. Hope we support almost all countries.
The "SQUADS" sheet contains the squad for all teams. Click on a player for more details (Internet Connection required). The "LIVE SCORECARD" sheet updates scorecard (when IPL matches are played) from Cricinfo. Right click and click REFRESH DATA for latest scores.
The sheets are protected without a password. You can just unprotect the sheet and explore the formulas. It is totally free. If you have a better or customized version of the spreadsheet, kindly submit it here

If you use Microsoft Excel 2000, you should save it to the folder \office 9\Library
If you use Microsoft Excel 2003, you should save it to the folder \office 11\Library
If you use Microsoft Excel 2007, you should save it to the folder \office 12\Library

By default, the library folder loads all the available add ins in its folder. If you installed Microsoft Excel in an other folder instead of Program Files, then navigate to that folder and save the change case add in the library folder.
Now Go to TOOLS->ADD INS and click the change case box and click OK.

HOW TO USE?
Stats Master has two sheets

FULL
PLAYER

The FULL worksheet shows the list of all players with the respective details. By default, Stats Master sorts the records by the ascending order of player names.

To change the views, just follow the following steps:

Double click on the PLAYER NAME button.
Click the ADVANCED button in the PIVOT NAME FIELD BOX
drop down box below the USING FIELD box.
Select the criteria for which you want to sort from the drop down box
Select the ASCENDING or DESCENDING option to sort the data. For Runs scored, Wickets taken, Batting Strike Rate, Average, Highest score and for almost all batting records, click the ASCENDING option. For the Bowling Strike Rate, Economy Rate and other such bowling records, click the DESCENDING option. Bear with us with this adjustment as we would soon sort out a way to display records in one click.
Now click OK and the records of your choice would be displayed.
If you want to analyze the data of particular team, then select your team from the TEAM drop down box on the top of the page.

Thus to view the top run scorers in this cricket world cup, double click on the PLAYER NAME button. Click the ADVANCED button and select RUNS from the drop down box. Select the DESCENDING option and click OK.

Auto victory monitor

Auto Victory Monitor

So who's won the match and who have lost it. What's the victory margin? No need for you to calculate these silly things. Our Excel cricket spreadsheet takes care. Just enter the scores in the cells and our Auto Victory Monitor would calculate the winner and the margin.

How it works
The Auto Victory Monitor checks the scores of both the teams ,the overs and the wickets. Since the winning team must score more runs than the losing team, it ascertains the team with the more runs as the winner. If the scores are level, then it assumes the match as tied. As regards the victory margin, it uses a simple algorithm to calculate it. Since the formulas are not hidden, you can find it for yourself. The algorithm is based on the fact that if the victory margin is more than 6 runs, then the team must have batted first and defended the score. In case the victory margin is less than 6 runs and the overs taken up the team is less than 50, then the team must have chased and won the match. If the victory margin is less than 6 and both the teams have played out their entire overs or have run out of wickets, then the winning team must have batted first and won.

Flaws in Auto Victory Monitor

There are two flaws in this monitor

If a match is curtailed then the score of the chasing team would be revised and in many cases must be much less than the original score of the team that batted first. Auto Victory Monitor would still show the team that batted first as the winner. We are sorting this out and for the time being you may enter the winning team and the victory margin manually
When a team chases a target and wins of the last ball of the stipulated over, then Auto Victory Monitor shows the winner correctly but faults in victory margin. For example, if Team A bats first and scores 250 runs in 50 overs and Team B chases down the target in 50 overs getting 252 runs losing 8 wickets (assuming the last ball is hit for four) then the victory margin is calculated as Team B winning by 2 runs instead of 2 wickets. This is a genuine problem. Any idea on this issue is appreciated without providing an additional column for the team batting first.

Points system for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007

You might be slightly confused the way in which points are calculated for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007. This would give you a clear picture.

If a team wins then it will be awarded 2 points. If the match ends in a tie or the match is abandoned, then each team would get 1 point each. As always, the losing team doesn't make any gain. There is no bonus point system in this ICC Cricket world cup.
In case two teams have the same points, then the teams would be decided on the basis of NRR (Net Run Rate).
Two teams from each of the four groups would qualify for the Super Eight Stage. In the Super Eight Stage, each team would play the other except the team that they faced in the league stage. For example, if Australia and South Africa qualify for the Super Eight from Group A(they would qualify) then Australia would play against the teams qualified from Group B, Group C and Group D. They would not face South Africa as they have already faced them in the league stage. Hence, they would play six matches in the Super Eight Stage. The same is true in case of South Africa also.
Teams would carry forward the points they have earned in the league matches. For example, if Australia and South Africa qualify for the Super Eight Stage, and Australia beats South Africa in the league stage, then Australia would enter the Super Eight with 2 points and if South Africa beats Australia, then South Africa would enter the Super Eight with 2 points and if the league match between Australia and South Africa ends in a tie or is abandoned, then both the teams would enter the Super Eight with one point each. So it is important for a team to win all its league matches as it may turn decisive in the run up to semi finals
The top four teams from the Super Eight would qualify for the Semi finals. The points system in the Super Eight Stage is same as in the league stage. In case the points are tied, then the team with the higher NRR would move to the semi finals. Thus if two teams have three wins each in the Super Eight Stage, then the points carried from the league stage would be decisive. For example, lets assume India beats Sri Lanka in the league stage and both of them move to the Super Eight. Assuming both the teams win three matches each in Super Eight, then India would move into the semifinals since India would have 8 points (3 wins in Super Eight + 1 win in league match against Sri Lanka) while Sri Lanka would have only 6 points(3 wins in Super Eight).

The Cricket World Cup spreadsheet calculates all of the above. It automatically generates the Super Eight Schedule and calculates the Net Run Rate. Provision for carry forward points to the Super Eight Stage is under progress and the same would be incorporated in quick time.

This refreshes the scorecard. This scorecard changes for every match and no need to do anything special. You can also make the refresh data at regular intervals.

REFRESH EVERY box select the time interval for which you want to refresh data
