Saturday, April 7th from 12:00 PM until 4:00 PM we will help Pastor Collis Daniels distribute gifts to those  in need at an apartment complex in a very challenging part of Dallas.

Pastor Collis has worked this neighborhood for many years and this year he needs more help.  We will meet at the Denny’s at Walnut Hill and I35 (2425 Walnut Hill Ln, Dallas TX 75229) for lunch and then carpool together to his church, House of Prayer (2905 Seevers Ave, Dallas, TX 75216). From there, we will follow Pastor Collis to the exact location of the apartments.

1. Celebrate the Resurrection!
Saturday April 7th from 12:00 PM until 4:00 PM at the House of Prayer with Pastor Collis Daniels (2905 Seevers Ave, Dallas, TX 75216).  We will meet at the Denny’s on Walnut Hill and I-35 (2425 Walnut Hill Ln, Dallas TX 75229) at 12:00 PM and then carpool to Pastor Collis’s church to help distribute gifts for Easter and minister to those in need.  What better way to celebrate His resurrection the day before Easter?

2.  Rescue the Perishing Training and Evangelism Meeting
Saturday April 21st from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, at The Word Center, 7090 Oak Street (5th and Oak), Frisco, TX 75033. This monthly meeting is where we meet to allow the Lord to equip us with His power to be the witness He is calling all of us to be. Worship, prayer and evangelism training are all part of these monthly meetings that will continue in May, June and July.

3.  Concert Outreaches
(A).  Edgefest, Sunday evening April 22, more details later.
(B).  Marilyn Manson, Friday night May 11th, more details later.

We have seen the Lord do some amazing things at our secular concert outreaches.  Check out this video from a past outreach to get a better idea of what to expect.

4.  New Orleans Summer Mission Trip July 21st – July 29th, 2012.
Cost for entire nine days is just $400.00…start budgeting now! We will continue our Summer trip to New Orleans to help Pastors Marc and Angie Smith, of Abiding Temple, minister in one of the most troubled neighborhoods in America.  This has been a life changing event for those who have gone with us over the past four years.

5.  Frisco Reach Out
Join us on August 18, 2012, from 9 AM – 12 PM to help the families of Frisco and the surrounding communities.  Executing His Word is looking for those who are willing to share their testimony with 100′s who have not heard the gospel or are not sure who Jesus really is.

This is just a fraction of the events we will be part of this year. Jo Hooper, who is part of the leadership of this ministry and her church (The Word Center), is heading up a team to go to Chicago in October.  Robert Furber, also part of the leadership of this ministry, is working on expanding Sharpened Swords and is looking for like-minded believers to help take part in the online teaching and training aspects of what we are about.

Our Rescue the Perishing Conference back in January was a huge success. I am still hearing testimonies from many who attended. Those who have come over the past four years all agreed that it was the best Rescue and Recovery Conference yet.

We want to continue to pursue the presence of the Lord so that we will be the witness God is calling us to be. This is why starting March 24th we will have monthly meetings thru July to be spiritually equipped to rescue those the Lord sends our way.

Our first meeting will be:

We will be discussing the topic “Guarding and Protecting the Anointing God has Entrusted Us With.”  Pastor J.B. Hooper will do a teaching on this subject that the Lord birthed within him a couple of years ago when he came very close to dying. God has given us all a job to do and the enemy is looking for weak areas in our lives that would hinder or destroy our mission.  We have seen many men and women of God leave His service because of issues they were unable to conquer.

We need to grasp hold of our Savior in such a way that we can conquer those things in our lives that are holding us back. We will be meeting at:

These meetings will include worship, prayer and evangelism training.  The purpose is to equip and prepare us to be His witness.  In order to be an effective witness, we must be willing to “lay aside every encumbrance, and sin which so easily entangles us, so that we can run with endurance the race that is set before us (see Heb.12:1,2).”

We have a race we must run and finish.  If you are like me, you have things in your life that you need to give up to finish the race. My prayer is that these meetings will help us lay aside those things that entangle us and hinder our ability to be His witness. As our nation continues to fall further away from the purposes of God, we must be committed to His sanctification process so that we will not follow the path of the masses.

Learn from those who are making a difference. As we pursue the presence of God throughout the day, we are expecting to be changed by the power of God.

We all need to make sure that evangelism is a vital part of our walk with Christ. As families and communities continue to be destroyed by the works of the evil one, the body of Christ needs to rise up and answer the call from our Savior to Rescue the Perishing.

“Rescue the perishing; Don’t hesitate to step in and help.  If you say, “Hey, that’s none of business,” will that get you off the hook?  Someone is watching you closely you know.  Someone not impressed with weak excuses.”  Proverbs 24:11-12 (M.B).

Who will step out and make themselves available to be used by the Holy Spirit?

This year our focus will be based upon Ezekiel 36:25 which states;

“ Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from your all your filthiness and from all your idols.”

How can we be an effective witness if we do not  allow the Holy Spirit cleanse us and deliver us from those things the enemy has used to hold us back?  For those of you who plan on attending, I suggest that you spend time studying Ezekiel 36:22-38 as you prepare yourself for this life changing all day event. I truly believe that the Lord is going to visit us in a very powerful way.

Testimonies, evangelism training, prayer, powerful messages from men and women of God and worship will all be a part of this unique conference. This will be a time where we focus on committing our lives to be an effective witness for Jesus Christ throughout 2012.

Lunch and childcare will be provided for all who attend.  We will also take up an offering to cover the expenses and provide funds for future outreach.

Frisco Reach Out: The Joy of Christmas

Executing His Word is partnering with Frisco Reach Out and the Word Center in an effort to bring joy to those who are struggling financially during the holidays. If you are looking for a way to share your testimony or a 5-7 minute Gospel presentation, this outreach is an excellent way to do so. We will be needing several volunteers to share with the hundreds of families who await to receive the supplies for their family.

Additionally, If you’d like to help during the planning and preparation, Frisco Reach Out will have stuff going on from Thanksgiving to event day, so please voice your interest and we’ll get you plugged in. If you’re a local business and would like to place a box out at your location, please let us know. We drop off an empty box and will do as many pickups as necessary during the Christmas season.

Operation Care International: Operation Care Dallas

Every year we participate in reaching out to over 10,000 homeless people & families. You can help us with the evangelism part or participate in the many other events aimed at helping the homeless.

Operation Care International’s (OCI) 8th annual Christmas Gift 2011, described as the ‘nation’s largest Christmas party for the homeless”, will be held at the Dallas Convention Center on Saturday, December 17, 2011.

OCI utilizes the efforts of thousands of humble and caring volunteers in partnership with charitable organizations, church groups, sponsors (corporate, small business and individuals) and donors to give a Christmas Gift to the homeless. Food, clothing, and services are distributed to the homeless men, women and children in a festive, comfortable and safe environment. Six months prior, planning begins in order to coordinate materials and thousands of man hours of effort required to create a special day for the homeless and families in need. Guests and volunteers alike agree that the “Spirit of Christmas” is present, beginning to end.

Toga is one example, a young lady who is hooked on heroin and wants to go into rehab but she has two little children who she has no one to leave them with.  We did not have  an answer for her, but I know God does. Please pray for her as she is skin and bones and was crying out for help.

We also ministered to countless young children who roam the streets with little or no supervision.  One young boy, named Pumpkin, is only five years old and has been found roaming the streets at midnight by himself.  He would sit on my lap and draw me pictures of our group with the crayons we gave him.  You would be surprised at how excited a boy like Pumpkin would get when we would just give him a crayon or a piece of gum.

One day the Lord had us deliver hot dogs and cold water to a crack house where 15-20 people were living. This was a small abandoned house that really only had room for five or six, at the most.  The thing that broke my heart was how kind they were to us.  They were surprised by our visit but welcomed us with open arms.

Tragedy and destruction were all around us.  My heart breaks for those we encountered who have lost hope.  I found one homeless teenager, called Cowboy, who was sitting against a tree, considering
suicide.  I remember grabbing him, hugging him, praying with him and encouraging him not to give up.

The children we ministered to begged us not to leave.  Leaving was painful for most of us.

We are back in town and have entered back into our “normal” routine.  As I continue to build my business  (Fire Shield), please pray that God would give me the wisdom to prosper so that I might increase the amount of our mission trips and take teams into dark places, not just in New Orleans, but throughout our nation.

So many in our nation need to hear about how Jesus is the answer to all our problems.

As  America continues to follow a path apart from the Lord, the Lord is calling on His people to stand up and proclaim His message of salvation and  deliverance.  Isaiah the prophet explains the Lords
desire for His people:

“…And I will appoint You as a covenant to the people,
As a light to the nations,
To open blind eyes,
To bring out prisoners from the dungeon
And those who dwell in darkness from the prison.”

In just over one week, I am taking another group for a nine day street evangelism mission trip to the city of New Orleans.  Those of us called to go realize that the harvest is ripe because the vats overflow with wickedness. Many children, in the eighth and ninth ward where we minister, are at war with their community.  Drug dealers, gang leaders and pimps are on the prowl for new recruits. Many children have no adults in their lives who will protect them from wickedness. Many will not live to see their 18th birthday.  The statistics are staggering.  Every summer children are murdered while we are working the streets and the city does everything in its power to cover it up so the tourists will not be scared off.

Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision. Joel 3:14

Our group goes to this neighborhood in order to represent Jesus Christ and His desire for this community to make a decision for Jesus.  Many who we will minister to will  be given the opportunity to give their lives to Christ.  Some will and some will not, but they will know that the Lord has come to them to offer a way out of their sin, fears and hopelessness.

For some, it may be their last chance as God’s  word reminds us that “ the day of the Lord is near (vs.14).”  Each summer we have seen the young die. Tragedy will surround us as we attempt to rescue as many as we can.

For those of you who have not been called to go with us, I am appealing to you for help.  Each year, the battle seems to intensify and I need our friends at home to stand by us with their prayers, and if you are able, financial support.

We need intercessors who will pray for us daily as we invade the enemy’s camp. There are many who think we are crazy, but we have been called by God to enter this neighborhood.  Without your prayers, we could not go.  It is literally too dangerous. We must have a strong prayer covering.

We also need financial support. I have several who are planning to come who do not have the  funds necessary to leave home for nine days. I have told them to plan on coming and if God wants them to come, the funds will be there. The priority of this ministry has always been to make sure that all the laborers are able to come, regardless of their personal financial situation.  There are too few laborers to turn any of them away. Friends of this ministry have always risen to the call the send the laborers into the harvest field. We also need additional funds to help us help the community and Pastors Marc and Angie Smith. We are in need of  supplies and food so we can literally feed thousands while we are there.

I am asking you once again to help us. I am believing God for an abundance of finances and prayers because His word tells us we can count on Him.  And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. II Cor. 9:8

Thinking through these questions I had to let go of an incorrect notion that I’ve held for the past 14 years: Executing His Word is Nelson Ligon.

I love Nelson as I’m sure many of you do. His commitment to others touches his family, friends, the streets of the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex, the city of New Orleans, and into many other countless places. He’s personally been my father, friend, boss and pastor. In that time I have had a front-row seat to the depth of his heart in reaching the spiritually lost of our society. His burden to see Christ revealed in the hearts of men and women is like no other.

Most of us have attended a church service where missionaries or evangelists informed the congregation on how God was using them in their ministry. While many are in fact sincere, many are not. Sometimes its self-promotion, only about money, boring, and stories from years ago because they are not truly involved in the ministry now.

Nelson on the other hand is none of those things. He is the first to shy away from spotlight, detests asking for donations in fear of the association with Christian misuse of money, is anything but boring (have you ever heard any of his witnessing experiences?), and is as involved today as he ever has been in reaching the lost. So forgive me when my connection to Executing His Word is rooted in Nelson Ligon.

The truth is: I am Executing His Word.

And just as much as I am, so are you. Think about it.

Executing His Word is a movement, made up of:

• men and women
• young and old
• different races
• different denominations
• multiple economic backgrounds

What makes us who we are is the common belief in reaching our communities with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and seeing spiritual freedom birthed by the Holy Spirit. It’s a fire within us that propels us to not leave this world the same.

That is what Executing his Word is.

Moving forward, this website represents a meeting ground for those who were changed by the ever amazing grace of their Creator and the call that has been placed within them. To achieve this goal Executing His Word needs to:

• continue growth financially (I said it, not Nelson). If you can look at America and not see why that is necessity or look at this ministry and not see how funds are used, then you’re looking with closed eyes. My goal this year is to aid Executing His Word to become a 501c 3 faith-based non-profit ministry and have books that are up-to-date and open.
• make an impact with Christian youth and expand to bring in new people. Our team in the last year has grown in these areas and this must continue to best serve our communities. With social media (Facebook, twitter) there is no reason we can’t all be doing more in this regard.
• exist as a promotion for the areas of ministry we are all involved in. While this site will keep you informed on official Executing His Word outreaches and conferences, it needs to be a place where you can share other evangelism opportunities locally and around the globe.
• create up-to-date content on this site to both challenge and educate believers, as well as evangelistic information for non-believers. If you would be interested in sharing on this site please use the contact page to send me your info so I can tell you how to get started.

There is much to accomplish and we will not rest until God calls us home. Be encouraged friends as we each individually face challenges to separate ourselves from the ways of this world and pursue the glory of Christ. Know that each one of you are apart of what is happening here at Executing His Word. This is only the beginning.

“And I saw coming out of the mouth of the dragon and out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet, three unclean spirits like frogs; for they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the whole world, to gather them together for the war of the great day of God, the Almighty.  (“Behold, I am coming like a thief.  Blessed is the one who stays awake and keeps his clothes, so that he will not walk about naked and men will not see his shame.”)  And they gathered them together to the place which in Hebrew is called Har-Magedon.” Revelation 16:13-16 (NASB)

There are three points from this passage that every believer needs to understand:

1.  The enemy of our soul is speaking to his demonic leadership while many of us are sleeping.

2.  Satan is gathering his army together for war in order to create as much destruction and chaos as possible.

3.  The Lord will ultimately cut Satan’s march of destruction short, but those in the church who are sleeping will be put to shame.

I was awakened by the Lord at 1:30 this morning in order to bring this brief message to those who would read this.  I wrestled around in bed until 2:30am when I realized I needed to get up and obey the Lord.

There are two very specific aspects of this passage that I need to urge you to consider:

1. Since the enemy is planning for further assaults, we need to be ready.  While I tossed and turned in my bed, I felt like the Lord was rebuking me for not fully and specifically communicating to those associated with this ministry that Executing His Word needs additional funds available to be distributed as further chaos breaks out throughout America.

This ministry is supposed to be ready to be deployed immediately when the Lord speaks.  Specifically, He has spoken to me about two ways the funds that we receive should be used:

A.   We are in need of funds to help others called to personal evangelism respond to His call. The Lord has stirred my heart right now that we  have members of our team who are in need of financial help as I write this message.  We are also in need of funds to help Pastor Anthony as he builds his new outreach home.  He has nine men living in his home and these young men are eager to be trained, equipped and eventually sent out (our ministry is supposed to be help train them as well). Furthermore,we are also preparing for our next trip to New Orleans, July 23-31, and will need help with this outreach as well.

B.  We also need funds available so that members of this ministry can be dispersed immediately as disasters continue to develop in our nation. Since coming back from the damage caused by the tornadoes in Alabama, we need to be ready to respond so that we will literally rescue people from the edge of death.

2.  The second aspect of this passage is a warning to those who would read this who have been sleeping.  He is calling you to wake up. There are several people who will read this who have been sleeping spiritually.  You think you are fine because you have been involved in a lot of religious activity, but the Lord is saying that you have not been listening to Him.  If this is you, please wake up before it is too late. Specifically, there are members of your family who are in far more trouble than you realize and the Lord wants to show you what to do.

From my personal experience, please do not put this off.  If you are supposed to support this ministry financially, do so as the Lord directs.  If you are one of those who have been sleeping, get with your Savior immediately and begin to seek His face, even if you need to take a day off from work.

May the Lord prepare  and equip you to enter the fields which are ready to be harvested.
