Part-time Diocesan Further Education Adviser

The Diocese of Bath & Wells wishes to engage the services of a consultant, part-time FE adviser from April 2012 or as soon as possible thereafter to support the development of chaplaincy in FE colleges.This post has been funded by the St Matthias Trust, recognising the importance of this sector and in response to ‘Pushing Further’ imperatives for spiritual, moral, social and cultural education, and pastoral care within FE colleges.

The post is initially for a period of nine months with reviews after four months, towards the end of the year and annually thereafter.The post will comprise support for existing FE chaplaincy and in particular, development of new FE chaplaincy, to achieve good provision across the diocese in its FE colleges. During the course of the work, the consultant will be required to visit FE colleges, church groups and the Diocesan office in Wells.The post, which is offered on a self-employed basis, is flexible but is expected to equate to the equivalent of one day per week, for which a rate of £150 per day, plus travel expenses, is paid.

DIOCESAN YOUTH WORK ADVISER

We want to appoint a lively, enthusiastic and imaginative person, well qualified to lead the advice for developing the engagement of young people in the life of the Diocese – and beyond. It is an occupational requirement under the Equalities Act to be a practicing member of the Church of England or of a church which is a member of Churches Together inEnglandandIreland. A full driving licence and a willingness to travel extensively by car is essential.
