New map coming soon, Halloween Events delayed.

2013-10-29T10:49:00.002-04:00

Just a quick heads up, with the new update coming out so close to Halloween we will be doing our Halloween events a little bit after Halloween. The new map is currently in the works and hopefully should be running within the week. I want to thank all of you for your continued support.

We're back!

2013-10-08T18:46:00.002-04:00

After a long hiatus with our VPS provider we have decided to move on from our old hosting and search for new hosting. In the mean time we're going to be using our old site as a place holder!

Forums will be back soon as well. Although this is not as important as the other features since we mainly just use Teamspeak for communication anyway.

Happy Halloween!

2011-10-31T17:42:00.000-04:00

I just want to take some time to wish everybody near and far a Happy Halloween. I realize many of our players here don't live in America or other areas of the world that happen to celebrate the holiday, but I wish to extend my thanks for them for taking part in our Halloween events and celebrations that have been held on the server.

I also want to take some time to thank the few people who joined us for the scary movie nights we've had (almost) every Saturday this month. Some of you really enjoyed the movies and many of them were movies you never seen before. It's always a pleasure to introduce people to the movies that I had growing up.

So everybody have a safe Halloween, and watch a scary movie or two tonight. We'll be doing this plus more next year.

Yours LOYALLY

MasterKnives

A Halloween Fight

2011-10-28T19:05:00.004-04:00

Today another proud Halloween event, was held today, there was a race, and Mortal Kombat. The races were two laps and it was close ending! Two people died during the race, but in the end victors were decided. The mortal kombat was interesting, people fought to the death to win prizes and they were entertaining to watch. In the end the victors whisked away the prizes on this nightly fright fight!

A New Day, A new Race.

2011-10-26T20:02:00.002-04:00

The second race of the Halloween events kicked off to a bumpy ride, due to one player had to drop out because of hunger, But when the Second lap comes to they start to bump and shove! Come down to it we had one winner, but they all did a good job! Congratulations!

1.9 PreRelease 3 potion tutorial.

2011-10-09T19:14:00.000-04:00

I found this video explaining potions in the upcoming release of minecraft. It really adds a lot of depth to the game. Give it a watch.

1.9 Pre-Release 3...

2011-10-07T10:00:00.000-04:00

Yes folks, there is yet another Pre-Release floating around, they are saying this is the "final" release. Before the final version of 1.9 goes live. So far potions have been confirmed though it looks like a lot of the features implemented here are still not done. Honestly I'm debating the point as to adding something to the game when it's not even done.

Regardless. Download it HERE.

Notice of Resignation -- AydiaFaith

2011-10-07T00:08:00.000-04:00

Dear Exiled Gaming Community,

I regret to inform you that one of our Administrators, AydiaFaith, is no longer with us. She has formally and voluntarily resigned, and has been relieved of her duties as a Minecraft Administrator as of October 5, 2011 11:00 PM. She has voluntarily resigned from her position due to her inability to carry out her duties at this time. AydiaFaith is currently preoccupied with handling personal issues that will remain confidential until she reaches a point in time at which she feels comfortable with disclosing the information. The resignation may be temporary or may be permanent. More information will be shared as it is made available. We all wish her the best and hope to see her again in the future.

Final 1.9 Pre-Release available.

2011-09-30T04:40:00.001-04:00

Jeb has circulated what they are calling the "Final Pre-Release" of the upcoming 1.9 patch. You can download this patch HERE.

With the release of 1.9 coming soon, they are promising to do a "Code Freeze" on October the 11th. Which thankfully will give server providers like us a breath of air so we can catch up our plugins and finally get a set up we know will be sticking around for at least a month.

Are you going to play hardcore?

Minecraft 1.9 Pre-Release coming soon!

2011-09-27T23:07:00.004-04:00

Notch has recently tweeted that he plans to release a pre-release of the 1.9 patch sometime in the week to ensure enough people can test it to catch as many remaining bugs as possible. There is no telling how long it's going to take server and mod communities to catch up to these changes. I can only speak for us here at Exiled, but we can't wait until all of these updates get done so we can get back to normal business.

Jeb has also tweeted a sneak peak of the new inventory system, you can see some bottles in the inventory hinting at some possible potions. He also hinted that none of these stats would be functional in the 1.9 release. With all the recent changes to game play many people are reporting it's like playing a completely different game. Let us know how you feel about this article on our forums HERE.

We Are Now Updated to Minecraft 1.8

2011-09-24T10:52:00.002-04:00

Yesterday at approximately 7:00 PM EST, I update the server to Minecraft 1.8 and CB1185. I'm sure you guys have all been just itching to play on the server with 1.8. I've been busy grabbing all of the updated plugins and testing some of the older ones for compatibility. Some plugins have been released for the latest version, some have not been updated but are still compatible, some are not compatible, and some plugins have been removed in favor of similar ones. Do not be alarmed if you find any bugs here and there, just calmy report them to me via PM with the date, time, what you were doing, etc.

Since 1.8 has drastically changed the game architecture, we will not be keeping our current map. We will move to a new map, and we will, upon request, copy some (but not all) of your buildings to the new map (read this post about copying).

While we are copying your stuff over, flushing out bugs, refining the gameplay, and preparing for the release of Minecraft 1.9, we will be on a TEMPORARY MAP. Anything you build on this TEMPORARY MAP will be lost once we go to our new permanent map, so don't get too carried away with your building. I expect us to be on the TEMPORARY MAP for up to two weeks. Happy Minecraft-ing.

Admin Update

2011-09-23T00:45:00.003-04:00

As you may have noticed, I've only been on a few times as of late, my Twitter account has hardly been updated and the art work I was supposed to have done for the website is hardly touched. Before I get to my explanation, I'd like to express my sincerest apologies to Knives and the rest of the server.

I enjoy working with all of you and you deserve an admin who's able to be more active, however right now that is something that I cannot commit to. I will be back in action, but it may be a week or two.

Firstly, as a handful of you know, I got a kitten, however I was forced out of ownership for extensive, pointless reasons. You don't need details, just know that I am NOT a happy camper.

Secondly, I've taken on multiple charity projects that include hours of study, work and effort in order to get the outcome that is desired. This takes up a large chunk of my day as it involves me actually going out to local businesses and participating in meetings.

And thirdly, I have started my own business and am busy building it from the ground up and getting it up and running. This also takes multiple hours of time and effort speaking with the town's CoE and dealing with tax information and local laws.

Lastly, I've enrolled in multiple school courses including classes for graphic design, general credits and a specialized cartoon and 3D model class.

I will leave it up to Knives to decide whether I remain as an Admin or not, but know that I still have a care and love for the server and will be back in action as soon as time allows me.

Thank you all, and congrats to G3y3r, he deserves the position.
-Aydia

Domain is down, server is fine.

2011-09-20T10:46:00.000-04:00

Just a quick announcement, our domain appears to be Mal-functioning, if we can't resolve the problem in an orderly manner we'll simply be switching domain providers.

Server is running fine, despite the banner at the top of page saying it's not, it's linked to our domain address.

Sorry for the mishap.

Management.

Congratulations G3y3r!

2011-09-18T21:35:00.000-04:00

Effective Immediately G3y3r has been promoted to server admin. The server managers would like to thank him for all of his hard work and dedication to our server, and look forward to working with him in more depth in the future. I would also like to extend our thanks to all the other moderators both new and old who have spent much time on our server. Without you guys there wouldn't be a server. We're more thankful then you can possibly imagine.

Management.

Mod your minecraft game menu!

2011-09-18T16:55:00.000-04:00

Found an interesting video on youtube that teaches you to customize your minecraft menu background on 1.8. For those of you looking to diverse your menu the instructions are fairly simple to follow.

Check it out.

Another Round of Ultimate Survival

2011-09-16T23:53:00.003-04:00

After the initial testing, The 2nd Round of Ultimate survival was won by Haypalm102, Narrowly beating out Erderer1 for the Ultimate Prize.

Lady_Voldta, AssassinSpartan, g3y3r, oMastercole, frenchie1218, St_Stuttering, and oMasterCole all made strong showings, but Haypalm102 was truly a survivor!

The Ultimate Survivor

2011-09-16T23:21:00.002-04:00

AssassinSpartan was the Ultimate Survivor

This game is where you are locked in a dark arena full of mobs and try to last longer than your opponents, no tools, no shelter, only your wits, skill and luck.

AssassinSpartan lasted longer than Frenchie1218, Haypalm102, oMasterCole, and g3y3r for a grand prize of $850

1.8 released, do not update!

2011-09-14T08:28:00.002-04:00

Folks, it looks like Notch decided to go ahead and release Minecraft 1.8. While we know this is an exciting time as the game hasn't had this degree of an overhaul in a long time we must ask you not to upgrade to 1.8 if you intend to play on our server.

If you accidentally upgrade to 1.8 see Michael Lee's post HERE to roll yourself back to 1.7.3

The reason why we're not moving the server forward with 1.8 right away is because the creators of all of our vital plugins need time to update their software to match the 1.8 architecture. This takes a few days as they have to make the modifications, upload them, them we have to download and install them. This includes bukkit which also will have to update to support the new version of minecraft.

On top of that, Notch has a nasty habit of doing hotfixes one or two days after his release of an update. So we're expecting 1.8.1 in a time frame of a few hours to a few days. Each time he does this plugin developers have to update their software again. Which is why many of them simply wait for notch to get all of this done before they even begin updating their plugins.

In a worse case scenario we should be running on 1.8 here in a week tops. It's never taken longer then 5 or so days for us to have everything securely moved to the new version.

We will be generating a new map seed, and we will be copying/pasting over all the essential stuff to ensure that all the new goodies will generate with the map terrain. (mineshafts etc etc) While spawn and the spawn city will remain unchanged, you can expect the terrain of the map to be completely different once you leave the area.

Thanks for understanding,
MasterKnives
