Freighter travel - The different way of travel combined with some Wine tasting is tempting. The Australian Wine Industry is the fourth largest exporter of wine around the world and many people probably have been looking on the web for possible ways of travelling between Asia and Australia. Sea Travel Limited might have the solution. Our freighter voyage is with departure from one of the Asia's must see destination Taiwan to first port in Western Australia - Fremantle. The itinerary also inlcudes Melbourne (Victoria), Sydney (New South Wales region) and Brisbane (Queensland) and continues from there up towards South Korea (Pusan) visiting three Chinese ports (Shanghai, Ningbo, Shekou) before again touching Taiwan. The whole journey is approximately 35 days but section reservations are possible and we recommend travellers to consider reserving space well ahead because of the popularity of the journey and destinations.

Australian and Chinese visas would be required depending on citizenship of travellers. Australian visa can be obtain online through the Internet Visa Services Australia. The site will allow you to apply for a short term visa for travel to Australia.
For help with Chinese visas please visit Chinese Visa Application Service Centre.

Short description of the Cabins:
1.) Double cabin, Living and bedroom combined, shower/WC. Radio, TV/Video, refrigerator. Large double bed. Location: D-deck. View to bow restricted.

Some good news for travellers wishing to visit Australia and Asia. A new service has been announced that 2 vessels are already employed in service between a few ports in Australia and possibly New Zealand to Singapore and Port Kelang. The service was discontinued for some time but has now resumed carrying passengers to the destinations. The vessels depart from Fremantle, Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide and take passengers to Singapore or Malaysia only. Section reservations between Australia and Asia are only possible.

There is also a possibility the vessel will call New Zealand on the next departure as current schedules show stops at Auckland; Lyttelton; Port Chalmers and Tauranga but ports are not yet confirmed on furture trips.

It was the longing for far away places and the great unknown that pushed man to build ships and explore the world. It was the wind that called them to set out. It was the sail that helped mankind to discover distant shores. Since the legendary Sea Cloud was the first yacht in a small and beautiful fleet - The two windjammers Sea Cloud and Sea Cloud II carry this yearning on board as they set sail. They cruise in the world’s finest sailing waters, including those of Central America and the Lesser Antilles, and they visit Mediterranean shores. And while the Sea Cloud enchants nostalgics and romantics with its uniqueness and its history, the Sea Cloud II joins together two demanding worlds by offering an authentic sailing experience and fulfilling the highest expectations of those embarking on an exclusive cruise. To many, the elegant travelling style of a bygone era and the rediscovery of the slowness are a pleasure and an enrichment alike. On board the River Cloud II, you can satisfy this yearning in the scenic heart of Europe, whether by visiting fascinating cities, passing through idyllic landscapes, or immersing yourself in the life of a river that naturally connects town and country – be it in Bruges, Amsterdam, Budapest or Vienna, by the banks of the Moselle or on the delta of the Danube.

As the services from Europe to US are running fully booked until end of 2011 year for passengers looking to cross the Atlantic, Sea Travel Limited offer a combination of ferry and freighter cruise crossings which would give you an opportunity to experience sea travel.

There are regular overnight ferry crossings from Spain and Italy to Morocco and Tunisia with prices starting from Euro 140.00 per person.

Or another option would be to take a freighter ship from Spain/France or Italy to Egypt with duration from 11 to 13 days approximately.

And a connecting voyages from Egypt to New York on Freighter ship. The Transatlantic duration usually is about 13 days and departures are from Damietta Container & Cargo Handling Terminal located Inside Damietta Port which has an unequaled location on the Mediterranean at the crossroads of the Far East and Europe where the main shipping lines operate. Its proximity to the Suez Canal is attractive to transit container vessels. The Terminal is about 8 Km from the Nile estuary , and is situated 70 Km to the West of the port facilities at Port-Said, and 185 Km to the East of Alexandria Port.

We have received a number of requests from people wishing to visit Israel and asking for Freighter cruises departures from both United States and Europe.
We at Sea Travel Limited can certainly assist with booking a passage on board Cargo ships.
There is availability with departures from:
NEW YORK,NORFOLK,SAVANNAH or CHARLESTON, USA to PORT SAID, Egypt
For example departure from Charleston to Port Said will cost in a Double Cabin : EUR 1,600 per person, based on double occupancy and including all charges/ taxes/ meals/ deviation insurance/accommodation.

The border crossings between Egypt and Israel are very much frequented by tourists therefore transportation options are readily available. Taxis, buses, and minibuses ply these borderlands regularly. Sea Travel Limited would recommend asking about the full sized bus options along the way, as this will be your most reliable transportation — although there are only a few buses each day.

The easiest way would be to take the full sized bus or Taxi that travels to the Egyptian border at Taba. At the border in Taba you have to fill out a lot of forms. That could take a while.. Make sure you have enough time and don't plan any times before you get into Israel. Also have your passport ready at all times. When you get into Israel, make sure you don't have any metal on you or in you handbag. Then you may have to strip....
Israeli Customs will also go over your bag to see if you carry any chemicals. Once you get into Israeli side of the border it would be no problem to take a taxi or the bus. Taxi and bus is right outside the border and the transportation from the border through Israel should cost around 50 ($12.5) sheckles.

As for departures from Europe to Israel, Sea Travel Limited have regular sailings from Monfalcone in Italy to Ashdod or Haifa, which only take up to 6/8 days duration and prices start from EUR 510 per person based on double occupancy.
New and exciting Freighter Cruise is now available and will take you to the exotic islands of French Polinesia and Samoa in the South Pacific Ocean.
The journey start point is Long Beach in United States of America and continues via Papeete, Tahiti/French Polynesia -Apia, western Samoa -Pago Pago, American Samoa.

As soon as you set foot on virtually untouched strips of sand your senses will be immediately seduced. Literally very few experiences compare to the feeling you get when you emerge from the superb, coral-filled waters and look up to see nothing but turquoise waters, sea birds crisscrossing enormous cliffs. Hardly anything disturbs the peace and tranquility. There's only the movement of wind and water to ruffle the calm.

Whether you're an explorer keen on checking out some of the highest sea cliffs in the world or a leisure-seeker with a deep appreciation of beach life, you'll be glad you visited the Paradise on Earth.

There is more to the idyllic destination of Dalmatia than mere beaches and sun cream. While many heading to Croatia make a beeline for the islands, an increasing number of visitors prefer to stay on the mainland. Sea Travel takes a look at the region's gastronomic and cultural treats Croatia offers. Croatia is the elegant Pearl of the Adriatic, characterised by its luxury five star hotels and movie stars such as John Malkovich. This is a place for fine dining and bar hopping. Sea Travel offers freighter cruises to and from Croatia once every 14 days visiting Venice, Malta, Slovenia and Italy on the way. For those who forego the attractions of island hopping these port cities have a rich life of their own and can provide the perfect break. Croatia is a relaxed getaway in sumptuous surroundings. Tourists can dine on prime seafood, suculent lamb and first class cheese drizzled in virgin olive oil as they take one of the world's most jaw dropping vistas across the Adriatic.
