The Twilight Self-guided Movie Set Tour will be printed in the Experience New Moon Weekend Guide, published by The Chronicle newspaper. It will be available in that week’s paper, at the event in downtown St Helens and several businesses around town. It includes a map of the movie set locations and details about what was filmed there. Signs will also be out that weekend to help visitors find the locations.

Several scenes from the movie Twilight were filmed in St Helens. Many people don’t realize just how many. The downtown area was used for backdrop as Edward and Bella sped through Port Angeles. There were seven key scenes filmed in St Helens, the most notable being the Swan house.

Here’s a quick overview:

The Swan House – Home to Chief of Police Charlie Swan and his daughter Bella.

Petite Jolie Dress Shop – Where the girls go in Port Angel to buy their prom dresses.

Thunderbird & Whale Bookstore – Bella buys a book about Quileute legends.

Alley and Parking Lot – This is where some rowdy frat boys harass Bella and Edward comes to her rescue.

The Bloated Toad Restaurant – Edward and Bella have their first date and some very pivotal conversation.

Forks High School Office and Piano Scene – Both scenes were filmed at the St Helens High School and couldn’t be more opposite. The office scene is when Edward is trying to switch classes to get away from Bella. In the piano scene he plays Bella’s Lullaby that he wrote for her.

Portland Movie Tours

Portland Movie Tours will doing a special tour just for the Experience New Moon weekend. Watch the movie Twilight as your tour guides take you on a bus ride to movie sites rarely seen in Vernonia, OR. Then back to the Columbia Theater at 212 S 1st Street in St. Helens for a screening of New Moon.

The small town of Vernonia was made over to be Forks, WA in Twilight. You’ll recognize many of the sites, including the old cobblestone Rock Creek Bridge that Bella and Charlie each drive over and the bank building used for the iconic Forks Police Station. Locals tell funny stories of the day they drove into town to find the “Welcome to Forks” sign and all of the buildings renamed for Forks businesses.

The Volturi are the vampire royalty of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight Saga. They represent the oldest, most powerful and extravagant of the vampires. This ball will be fitting for a Volturi but made for humans.

The setting will be old world Italy with a hint of vampire atmosphere. Guests will enjoy pale white, ice cold desserts and Edward’s Blood sparkling punch served from a fountain. Then they will enjoy dancing and fun while Twilight themed music plays in the background.

Mother Daughter Duo Gather Twilight Fans in Saint Helens, OR for New Movie

Thursday November 19^th Saint Helens, Oregon is home to the Twilight saga again.  A four-day movie release party, Experience New Moon kicks off with a VIP party at the Columbia Theater at 212 S 1^st Street in St. Helens.

Fans can spend the weekend with other Twilight fans in the original movie locations. Some of the more notable scenes from the movie … the Swan house, Bella and Edward’s first date, the bookstore and dress shop in Port Angeles… were filmed in Saint Helens. A scene of Edward playing piano for Bella and a Forks High School office scene were also filmed in Saint Helens. The main street of Vernonia was downtown Forks, WA and also home to the Forks Police Station.

The four-day event benefits the Oregon Food Bank and includes screening parties, a walking tour of movie locations, a Volturi Ball, scavenger hunt, Twilight character look- a-like contest and more.

Nationally known Quileute storyteller, Anita Wheeler will share traditional Quileute stories during a special session at the VIP Party Thursday night.

Twilight fans are thrilled about the event and are coming from as far away as Arizona and Texas. Reena Edame of Phoenix, Arizona says “I had planned to attend a big New Moon release event in another city but when I heard about the event in St. Helens, I couldn’t make plans fast enough! I’m so excited to have a chance to be in St. Helens for New Moon and also get to do some location sight seeing.”

A portion of the proceeds from the event will go to help The Oregon Food Bank and The Columbia Pacific Food Bank. Food donations will also be collected. There are more than 22,000 homeless children in Oregon.1 in 26 children in Oregon do not know where they will get their next meal.Those most likely to need emergency food are children, working families, the elderly, retired or disabled. They are our neighbors, and they need our help. The Oregon Food Bank is the hub of 915 hunger-relief agencies. They serve all of Oregon and Clark County in Washington.

Background

Experience Twilight is a family owned and operated business. Katherine and Steve Kidd and their daughter Jessica all play an active roll in operations.  They publish the Experience Twilight Tour Guide and ExperienceTwilight.com. Recently, they moved from Washington to Saint Helens, OR where they plan to open a Twilight merchandise store.

“Jessica and I are huge fans of Twilight. The movie made me fall in love with the Northwest all over again,” says Katherine.

“We planned a mother daughter trip for Jessica’s birthday and went to see all the sites where Twilight was filmed.”

When researching the trip became time consuming and information was scattered, mother and daughter started blogging to share what they had found.

Then the blog turned into a paper print booklet that people could take with them. Now they sell a printed and bound book on Amazon.com.

This Twilight fan duo has taken nine trips to various Twilight movie and book locations in the past year.
