At last night’s Pearl Jam concert in Toronto, delighted fans were treated to a special appearance by the “Godfather of Grunge” himself, Mr. Neil Young!

Neil joined the band on stage for a final encore performance of “Rockin’ in the Free World” (so hopefully you didn’t leave early or you missed it!).

Some footage of the performace is available online on youtube. Check it out before it gets removed!

With appearances from Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor and Motorhead’s Lemmy, the Foo Fighters show at London’s The Roundhouse on Monday night was a special one… and Dave Grohl wasn’t going to let anything or anyone ruin the fun.

After noticing someone throwing punches in the crowd, Dave stopped the music and had security remove the offender, explaining, “I don’t put up with that bullshit. You people come here to have a good time and that guy can fuck off.”

Dearest listeners, I want you to know that starting right now, we will no longer be posting episodes of the beloved (to me, at least) Adam Has Issues program as blogs.

Seriously, why not?

This week: now that's what I call random hacking, and Morrissey gives a mini-review.

A Lil B-representing group called Swagger Security took over Amy Winehouse’s website, calling her a “RACIST CRACKHEAD DEVIL BITCH,” and saying some other stuff.

What did Amy Winehouse do to these people? More importantly, what could she have ever done to Lil B to upset anyone so much?

Why couldn’t Swagger Security have messed with the Westboro Baptist Church instead, like Anonymous did? Seriously, does WBC leader Fred Phelps not qualify as a “RACIST CRACKHEAD DEVIL BITCH?”

Okay, fine, I admit that there’s no reason to call Fred Phelps a crackhead.

In unrelated news, Morrissey recently appeared at a show wearing a shirt printed with the words “F**k Morrissey-solo.com”—the fan site mentioned features discussions that Morrissey does not approve of.

I appreciate Morrissey making his feelings known. I wonder if Fred Durst will ever wear a shirt that reads “F**k the whole internet.”

Have a great Canada Day weekend, and remember, as Odd Future/MellowHype member Hodgy Beats said, “Sade went her whole career without collaborating with anyone.

Before Dave Grohl joined the Foo Fighters, he was in a DC band called Scream. It was only when they broke up in mid-tour on the west coast during a girlfriend crisis that Dave heard about this gig up in Seattle and—well, you know the story.

Back in February, Scream reconvened. They recorded a reunion EP in Dave’s Studio 606 called Scream’s Complete Control Recording Session. This is the original line-up of Pete Stahl, his brother Franz (who was in the Foo Fighters for a couple of years), bass player Skeeter Thompson and drummer Kent Stax (the guy Dave Grohl replaced).

I’ve heard it and it’s good. Watch for the EP August 16.

U2’s 360 Tour wraps up at the end of next month in Moncton, New Brunswick, which means the lifespan of those three massive Claw stages will come to an end. So what’s U2 going to do with $100 million worth of four-legged, 29,000 square-foot structures that weigh 390 tonnes each?

They’re way too big to store in a warehouse somewhere, so they gotta go. But where?

A couple of things are being contemplated. Tour architect Mark Evans says U2’s people are in discussions to turn these stages into permanent venues—pavilions or amphitheatres—somewhere in the world.

There’s apparently interest from a number of different parties on four continents—and the “for sale” sign on these stages hasn’t even gone up yet. And no one has mentioned a selling price. New, they were $35 million each. Used—well, that’s negotiable.

But then there are the transportation costs, of course, so keep that in mind if you want one for a garden shed in your back yard.
