If you are looking for fun, you've come to the right town! All adults remember longing to be BIG when they were kids. Fun Town is the perfect place for youngsters to live out that dream in a scaled-down town created just for them.

You don't have to be 16 to get your driver's license at the Volvo Driving School or Volvo Jr. Driving School, where everyone can learn about signaling, turning, stopping and going.

Fun Town Fire Academy is a hilarious workout that will test your family's fitness, speed, and funny bone! Race LEGO fire trucks across a straightaway, then pump water and aim to put out a "burning" building.

On a track high above Fun Town, you will see the unique and colorful pedal cars of Sky Cruiser. The Kid Power Towers are towers of fun that give a panoramic view of the Park and the Pacific Ocean, capped with an exhilarating kid-sized "free fall" to the bottom.

Children and adults alike can maneuver their own LEGO boat at Skipper School - keep an eye out for LEGO brick characters along the way, like the Skipper himself in a floating bath tub!

Attention Pilots! Climb aboard the Sky Patrol and let the spinning propeller take you up and down and up again. Young aviators, as well as adults, have the chance to fly their own bi-planes aboard the Flight Squadron.

Learn all about fire safety as the zany Fun Town Fire Department volunteers attempt to conquer "The Big Test" on Fun Town Stage. This show features a working fire truck - so be prepared, you might get wet!

The LEGO club house is the ultimate place to use your imagination to invent your own LEGO creations! You can stock up on bulk LEGO bricks, Make & Create kits and even build a picture of yourself with LEGO Mosaic.

At the LEGO Factory Tour, see automated machinery demonstrating molding, decorating, assembling and packing of real LEGO bricks.

At the Adventurers' Club young adventurers can walk on a mysterious journey featuring inhabitants of the Amazon rain forest, ancient Egypt and the Arctic - all made of LEGO bricks.

Captain Cranky’s Challenge

Ahoy maties! The newest addition to our pirate-themed area dares you to test your sea worthiness as you sway back and forth on a pirate ship that sits on a “U-shaped” track and rotates in two directions.

Captain Cranky’s Challenge is the fifth attraction to be added in Pirate Shores.

Soak-N-Sail

Adventurous family members will discover Soak-N-Sail* which features more than 60 interactive gadgets and devices pumping and spraying hundreds of gallons of water.

Climb aboard the shipwrecked pirate vessel beneath a 38-foot-tall mast. But stay alert because a pirate-style prank is looming overhead and over 300 gallons of water might come pouring down on you at any given moment.

Treasure Falls

Hold on to your tattered pirate hat because at Treasure Falls* mini-water flume ride you’ll drop in – nearly 12 feet - on a few vacationing pirates.
Your log-shaped boat will float by hard-working LEGO buccaneers relaxing in a thermal spa or lounging in their beach chairs amidst a tropical jungle.

Legoland California is an amusement park in Carlsbad, California focused on Lego bricks. It opened on March 20, 1999. It is the third Legoland park to open, and is the only one outside of Europe. The park is split into nine major sections which are: The Beginning, Dino Island, Explore Village, Fun Town, Knight's Kingdom, Miniland USA, Pirate Shores, Imagination Zone, and Land of Adventures.

Park History

The park opened on March 20, 1999. The Legoland parks were put up for sale in 2004, then a controlling interest sold in 2005. The new controlling company is, Merlin Entertainments, a brand of the Blackstone Group of New York, an investment and advisory firm. The company is the operator of the Sea Life Centres. On Aug. 11, 2008, the Sea Life aquarium opened on the grounds of Legoland California, the first in North America.

Dino Island
In Dino Island, a mini steel roller coaster called the "Coastasaurus" curves and dips around giant models of Lego dinosaurs. Visitors can dig for imitation dinosaur bones in the "Dig Those Dinos" attraction.

Explore Village
Explore Village includes the "Water Works" attraction, which has dozens of interactive water activities and is directly beside "Musical Fountain" where visitors hop up and down to make music play and water blow. A water ride called "Fairy Tale Brook" lets visitors ride a boat down a river lined with Lego models based on fairy tales. Playtown is a play area complete with Lego buildings, slides, and activities. There is a playground, pizza parlor, and a ride called "Safari Trek" which allows the rider to see many life sized Lego models of animals.

Fun Town
Fun Town features two "driving schools" where children can learn to drive electric Lego cars on a closed course. There are two courses; one is a simple circuit - up to 5 year olds can enjoy there. The other one can allow from 6 to 13 year old children, with traffic lights, and gas stations (was closed down at the point of October 2008). Fun Town also has a "Skipper School" where parents and kids can pilot Lego boats. Visitors can also take a tour of a Lego factory to learn how Lego bricks are made. At the "Fire Academy", families battle other families in a race down a street to douse a small "fire" and drive back in the fire truck- all using hand pumps. There are two attractions on the top of a hill. First is the "Kid Power Towers," in which a pair of people pull themselves to the top of a rotating tower to enjoy the slow ride down. Guests can go up and down as many or as few times as per their whim before the ride ends. When visitors board another attraction- the "Sky Cruiser"- two people pedal in tandem around a track to see a large portion of the park. If riders cease pedaling, the vehicle slows down to a crawl. Guests who board "Flight Squadron" are raised into the air by Lego airplanes and those who visit "Sky Patrol" will experience the same feeling as "Flight Squadron" with the exception of being in a Lego helicopter, as they are moved up and down to see the extensive view of Legoland.

Knights' Kingdom
Knights' Kingdom is a medieval castle-themed area that was originally called "Castle Hill." Its main attraction is the "Dragon," a roller coaster that slowly tours a castle, until a lego wizard casts a spell to open the doors to the outside, at which point the coaster speeds up and the ride functions as a regular coaster. Another ride is the "Knights' Tournament," in which guests ride around on a very large robotic arm, selecting levels from one to five - one and two do not go upside down, and five rarely has guests right side-up. The "Hideaways" is designed for younger children, and is a large multi-level wooden play structure with slides, rope ladders, and bridges. Small horses at the "Royal Joust" take guests ages 4-12 through a mock medieval joust. Recently added was a miniature golf course that replaced the popular "rock band" or "singing rock garden". The rock's original recording can still be heard on holes 12-18 on the course.

Miniland USA
Miniland USA includes miniature dioramas of seven areas of the United States, altogether built with over 40 million LEGO bricks in 1:20 scale and took 3 years to finish. The major cities are viewable from various areas in the park. From the Coast Cruise ride, one can see some mini models otherwise hidden from view, such as the Taj Mahal and Eiffel Tower. Miniland is also home to the Model Shop, the main design and build office for LEGOLAND California's ten Master Model Builders. A large viewing window at the front allows guests to watch the builders at work, usually on new models for the park.

The Imagination Zone
In the Imagination Zone visitors can ride a Wild Mouse-style roller coaster called the "Technic Coaster-Test Track", choose from three different "4-D" movies called "Bob the Builder," "Spellbreaker," and a racing movie. Kids can also race Lego cars that they build themselves in Build 'n Test, play the "Maniac Challenge" in which guests play LEGO PC games, and program robots in "Mindstorms". Guests can also ride on "Bionicle Blaster", which is a version of the teacup ride, or the "Aquazone Wave Racers," the primero ever duel water carousel. In that you get use a steering wheel to control a rudder that makes you either come in closer to the center or fly out through the waves, all the while being squirted with water by the bystanders.

Pirate Shores
Pirate Shores has 5 rides and attractions. "Splash Battle" is a ride where guests enter their very own pirate ships to do battle with other guests on the ride and on land also while trying to avoid on-ride blasts of water. "Soak 'N Sail" is an interactive two-storey water playground. Children and adults play with water pouring down all around them, for example, there are two buckets filled with 500 gallons of water that pour water on unsuspecting people. "Treasure Falls"; the mini-log flume, is a great training ride for little riders that aren't quite ready for the bigger log rides at other parks. "Swabbie's Deck" is the little kids water area, for little kids from infant all the way up to 7 or 8 to get their feet wet, before attempting Soak and Sail. "Captain Cranky's Challenge" is the newest ride for Pirate Shores that opened on May 24, 2007, which replaced Zamperela Rockin' Tug ride like "Lucy's Tugboat" at Knott's Berry Farm. There are also many carnival-style booths.
Expanded seating and locker facilities for Pirate Shores were added on Summer 2007.

Land of Adventure
This is the newest section of the theme park, being opened on November 7, 2007 which is designed to replicate the 1920s in Egypt. "Pharaoh's Revenge" involves guests firing foam balls at targets and at each other. On "Beetle Bounce" guests bounce nearly 15 feet to nearly touch the enormous beetles above. "Cargo Ace", lets guests board one of eight planes to fly six feet into the air. "Lost Kingdom Adventure" is Legoland California's most recent attraction. Guests board and ride a roadster to recover stolen treasure by blasting targets with laser guns along their journey. Another recently opened attraction is "Dune Raiders," which is a slide.

Parking Lot
The parking lot normally opens approximately 2.5 hours prior to the start of any event (earlier for special events) and is subject to change. The consumption of alcoholic beverages and tailgating is prohibited in the at the San Deigo Sports Arena parking lot. Glass containers of any kind are prohibited in the parking lot or in the facility.

VIP Parking
The Arena does provide VIP Parking for select events at the facility. The VIP Parking area is located on the East side of the parking lot, near the parking light pole marked "E-1." There is an additional charge for parking in the VIP Parking lot. Please ask an entrance gate attendant if VIP Parking is available for any specific event and, in the event that the VIP lot is open, you will be guided to the appropriate area and informed of the parking fee.

The roar of 11,682 professional hockey fans gave birth to San Diego Sports Arena (formerly, the San Diego International Sports Center) on November 17, 1966, as the San Diego Gulls-then of the Western Hockey League-won their home opener in a 4-to-1 victory against the Seattle Totems.

Since its opening, the facility has indeed hosted many amateur and professional athletes and teams, including but not limited to: the San Diego Rockets, San Diego Clippers, 10-time Major Indoor Soccer League Champion San Diego Sockers, and the 5-time Taylor Cup Champion San Diego Gulls. The Center has also played host to some of the most memorable moments in sports history, including the infamous 1973 Muhammad Ali versus Ken Norton bout, in which local boxer Norton defeated Ali by split decision to become world champion of boxing.

Irish miler Aemonn Coghlin, much to the amazement of the sports world, shattered the world record for the indoor mile at the Center in 1979 and again in 1981. The historic photo of Coghlin crossing the finish line appeared throughout the world on the cover of Sports Illustrated and other publications. Coghlin's world indoor record time set in 1981 remains unbeaten today.

Thanks to the vision and commitment of a man named Robert Breitbard, a football hero at Hoover High and San Diego State University, the Center was built for a modest $6.4 million with the purpose of bringing professional sports to the San Diego region.

For more than three decades, San Diego Sports Arena has entertained millions of music enthusiasts by bringing the biggest and brightest artists to Southern California audiences.

For every artist and every performance, fascinating behind-the-scenes stories exist for those willing to dig deep enough into the history of the facility. Some stories have been told and some remain the property of those who were there to witness them firsthand.

Like the time when Elvis Presley performed at the Center in 1970 and met a security guard working backstage who, as it turns out, hailed from Elvis's hometown. They shared a few laughs and Elvis went o to perform to a full house and leave town. The next day, much to the amazement of the security guard and the entire Arens staff, a brand new Cadillac was delivered to the security guard-the King's newfound, hometown friend-compliments of the King himself, Elvis Presley!

When the Arena celebrated its 35th birthday in 2002, the changes and improvements continued, including completion of the new color theme for each entrance concession stand, new condiment service areas, renovation of the Grille and successful installation of the World-Famous San Diego Zoo and San Diego Wild Animal Park interactive display. The work will continue until Arena management feels there is no room for improvement in everything that we do for our guests. Although one of the oldest facilities of its kind in San Diego, the Arena has definitely earned its title as "San Diego's Place for Entertainment!"

It takes more than exciting events to achieve the great success San Diego Sports Arena has enjoyed over the years. Here are some of the improvements that have made this possible:

New marquee sign, seen by approximately 32,000 commuters daily, has been totally redesigned.
The Arena features approximately 100 sporting events and some 160 total events annually, bringing roughly 800,000 Southern California sports and entertainment enthusiasts to the Arena, and an additional 1.2 million people to the Arena site for external/parking lot events (i.e. Kobey's Swap Meet).
Successful installation of a center-hung, four-sided LED scoreboard featuring state-of-the-art video and tri-vision panels for sponsor branding, ad placements and promotions.
Completion of a major backstage construction project whereby the Arena now boasts six artist "suites", a mural of San Diego's major landmarks and attractions, and a state-of-the-art pressroom.
A redevelopment of the property with the existing Arena space, including Chick Fil A , Chili's Restaurant, and an ARCO AM/PM convenience store/gas station, all open now!
The addition of ARAMARK (formerly Fine Host Corporation) as the Arena's on-site concession management company.
The declaration of the Midway District as the 18th BID (Business Improvement District) in San Diego to make substantial funds available for street beautification, economic development programs, sign enhancements, the Sports Arena Boulevard street banner program and much more.
Successful completion and scheduled completion of capital improvements to the facility and the Outer Concourse to enhance the public's entertainment and concessions experience at the Arena, including:
New facades applied to two existing Pizza Stands in Outer Concourse (redesigned and themed)
Conversion and internal/external redesign of one Pizza Stand into a Bakery/Sweet Shop
Purchase of new refrigerator (units + skins) portables for Outer Concourse
Refurbishment of existing portables (beverage portables, nacho carts, flat bars)
Build-out/completion of a new Sam Adams Pub, Guinness Pub, and a Dos Equis Wave bar in the Outer Concourse
Build-out/completion of new Guest Services booth in Outer Concourse
Concession Stands re-branded, menu boards replaced and relocated and menus revamped
Fully ADA-compliant seating distributed around the Arena for convenient access and viewing.

SeaWorld San Diego is a theme park located in San Diego, California. The park is owned by SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment, a division of The Blackstone Group.

History
SeaWorld was founded in 1964 by four graduates of the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA).[citation needed] They had originally considered the idea of building an underwater restaurant. Although this idea was not technically feasible, the concept grew into the idea of a marine zoological park on 22 acres (89,000 m2) along the shore of Mission Bay in San Diego. With an initial investment of $1.5 million, 45 employees, several dolphins, sea lions, and two seawater aquariums, SeaWorld drew more than 400,000 visitors its first year.

In the earliest years, the park was held as a private partnership. In 1968, SeaWorld offered its stock publicly,enabling the company to grow. In 1970, a second SeaWorld park was built — in Aurora, Ohio, near Cleveland. It was followed by a park in Orlando, Florida in 1973, and the largest park, which opened in San Antonio, Texas in 1988. Harcourt Brace Jovanovich, Inc. (HBJ), owned and operated SeaWorld from 1976 to 1989. Anheuser-Busch Companies, Inc. purchased the SeaWorld parks from HBJ in November 1989. After Anheuser-Busch was acquired by InBev, SeaWorld San Diego and the rest of the company's theme parks were sold to the Blackstone Group in December 2009, which operates the park through its SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment division.

Attractions

Journey to Atlantis
The boat leaves the station and climbs the first lift hill, once at the top of the lift the boat takes a small decline to pick up a little speed and then travels around a right-hand turn that leads to the first tower building. The boat then enters the tower and plunges down a flume drop into a small man-made lake of water below.

During the next section of ride the boat slowly travels along a flume of water, makes a left-hand turnaround and approaches the second tower. Speakers placed along the side of the flume reveal the story behind Atlantis. The second tower contains a brief flood before entering a duel-elevator style lift. This contains two boats which are see through the "glass" (a projection) comersion dolphins, then a whale which comes in and "breaks" the "glass" and "causes" the elevator to rise. The boat slowly rocks side-to-side as it climbs to the top. Inside the tower there is more Atlantis style theming and spiel.

Once at the top of the lift the boat leaves the tower and comes to a sign warning you to hold on and prepare for the sudden slow-down at the end of the drop. The boat then travels down a right-hand twisting drop that turns about 270 degrees, then rises back up onto a flat section of track containing some block brakes. From here the boat descends down another drop that banks to the right, and then climbs up slightly and makes a banked left-hand turn before descending down a small drop into another pool of water. The boat then slowly travels along a flume of water before making a left-hand turnaround and then heading back towards the station.

Wild Arctic

Wild Acritc is a simulator ride through the Arcitc set in a giant helicopter. It features both a simulator and non-motion version of the attraction. After the ride, guests can view animals of the Arctic including beluga whales, polar bears, and walruses.

Rocky Point Preserve
The popular bottlenose dolphins are on exhibit here in a pool where guests have free access to pet the dolphins. Guests can interact with the dolphins by purchasing fish to feed the animals. The Dolphin Encounter Program and Dolphin Interaction Program takes place at this exhibit.

Bayside Skyride

Bayside Skyride is a 1967 Vonroll type 101 that traveles over Mission bay, which is the only Vonroll skyride that goes over a body of salt water. It starts in the top-left corner of the map, and travles over a corner of Mission Bay on two poles and lands on the other side. Then an attendant has to push your gondala around to catch the wire to take you back to the other side. This ride provides a great view of the backstage of Cirque de la Mar.

Lights, Camera, Imagination 4-D!

Lights, Camera, Imagination 4-D! is a four-dimensional film experience for kids themed around Sesame Street, featuring Elmo and his friends. Effects "spill" into the audience, hence the title 4-D. Some effects include water-jets, rain, blasts of air, vibration, lights, and "rats".

Shipwreck Rapids

Shipwreck Rapids is a raft ride that ventures into the shipwrecks of the deep with twist and turns. At one point you even flow through a live-turtle exhibit.

SeaWorld Sky Tower

The Sky Tower is a 320-foot (98 m) observation tower that was built in 1969. The ride was refurbished in 2007 with a new capsule.The ride gives passengers a six-minute view of SeaWorld and San Diego. It rises at a rate of 150 ft. a minute while spinning slowly (1.02rpm).

Animal exhibits
Orcas

SeaWorld's main attraction is its orcas, several of which are housed in 7 million gallon habitats that are each known as Shamu Stadium. Shamu was the name of the first orca brought to SeaWorld San Diego in the 1960s. "Shamu" is now used as a stage name for adult Orcas in performances at SeaWorld parks. The Orcas all have individual names.

Seven orcas live at SeaWorld San Diego: Corky, Kasatka, Ulysses, Orkid, Sumar, Nakai, and Khalia.

Dolphins

There are two species of dolphins at SeaWorld San Diego. Both Atlantic/Pacific bottlenose dolphins and Commerson's dolphins. The Bottlenose dolphins may rotate between Blue Horizons, Rocky Point Preserve, and the Dolphin Interaction Program. The Commerson's dolphins live at an exhibit near Journey to Atlantis.

Commerson's Dolphins: Juan, Betsy, and Ringer.

Animal Care: Beaker, Belle, Bodine, Cali, Cocoa, Kenobi, Malibu, Pacino, Polka, Purina, Razzle, Sadie, Sadie's calf, Sparky, Sydney, Toby.

Rocky Point Reserve: Bugs, Captain, Cascade, Cometta, Crunch, Daphne, Deke, Dottie, Frankie, Gracie, Kolohe, Maguire, Ripley, Scarback, Steime, Zana.

Whale & Dolphin Theater: Bullet, Corona, Melanie, Purina, Sandy, Sophie, Venus.

There is also one hybrid of dolphin species, her name is Bullet and she is a cross of Atlantic bottlenose and long-beaked common dolphin.

Whales

SeaWorld San Diego has two species of toothed-whales:

Pacific short-finned pilot whales: Bubbles and 9Lives (also known as Niner and Shadow)

Beluga whales: Allula, Ferdinand, Nanuq, and Ruby.

Penguins

SeaWorld's Penguin Encounter exhibit features over 300 penguins representing eight different species. It is only one of two places in the world where Emperor penguins are kept in captivity, including the only successful captive breeding program.

Created in 1916, the San Diego Zoo is one of the largest zoos in the world, with over 4,00 animals and over 800 separate species, including an African rain forest exhibit with gorillas, a Taiga and Tundra area featuring polar bears, and other areas including Pandas, Rhinos, Koalas and more. The zoo follows the philosophy of "cageless exhibits", preferring to recreate as much as possible each animals' natural environment.

Among the attractions at the zoo, outside of the animals are the Guided Bus Tour, a 35 minute double decker bus ride that covers 75% of the zoo, a Skyfari Aerial tram that offers a good birds-eye view of the complex, the Balboa Park Miniature Railroad, the ENTCO Wild Earth Safari Ride, the Sea Lion Show, and other seasonal and special exhibits.

The zoo is run by the Zoological society of San Diego.

Exhibits and activities

NEW! Don't monkey around … the San Diego Zoo's most elaborate ambitious animal habitat to date,Monkey Trails and Forest Tales, is top banana! This exhibit is home to more than 30 species of African and Asian birds, mammals, reptiles, and amphibians—including some of the rarest and endangered monkeys on Earth golden-bellied mangabeys, Schmidt's guenons, and mandrills.

Visit the newest addition to theGiant Panda Research Station: Panda cub Su Lin and her mother—Bai Yun—are on exhibit from 9 AM–noon every day. A new exhibit area was recently built for the pandas and offers them deluxe accommodations with larger exhibit areas and extra vegetation and climbing structures. The new exhibit also includes winding, elevated viewing paths that give great panda-watching opportunities.

The San Diego Zoo’s other exhibits and habitats include:
Absolutely Apes: A lush, naturalistic environment where arboreal orangutans and siamangs can climb, swing, and live in the same terrain as they would in the wild.

Children's Zoo: All ages are welcome, but the 30 special animal exhibits and activities were designed with the zoo’s younger visitors in mind.

Flamingo Lagoon: Three beach areas, a nesting island, a large lagoon of gently circulating water, and lush landscaping have all combined to make the flamingos feel right at home.

Gorilla Tropics/Scripps Aviary: Enter a remarkable simulation of an African rain forest, with several enclosures and an expansive aviary housing some of Africa's amazing wildlife.

Ituri Forest: Experience true interspecies interaction in this replica of the Congo’s Ituri Forest: swamp monkeys play "grab-the-tail" with spotted-necked otters and the river hippos seem to delight in both entertaining and observing the humans that come to see them in their luxurious pool.

Polar Bear Plunge: The Arctic tundra comes south to San Diego, with Siberian reindeer, Pallas' cats, northern birds, and native plants, along with polar bears.

Rain Forest Aviary: Bird lovers will break into warbled song with this up-close look at more than 200 feathered friends representing 60 species and about 180 birds.

Reptile Mesa: Slithery, slimy, and slow, the Reptile Mesa is home to them all! From pythons, cobras, and boas, to tortoises, rattlesnakes, and gila monsters.

Sun Bear Forest: Lose yourself in this forest in the city where naturalistic enclosures and thousands of exotic plants combine to help animals and Zoo visitors alike experience life in an Asian forest.

Tiger River: Mesmerizing and gorgeous but also endangered, the Malayan tigers are always a pleasure to watch.
