O! Wow Brush by Cailyn Review

✐ Hi guys, I recently got send this new makeup brush by Cailyn called: O! Wow Brush. A very different and unique concept when it comes to makeup brushes, definitely not your typical flat synthetic type of foundation brush. At a glance it looks like a big tooth brush, but once you touch it and use it you will notice how ergonomic, soft and useful this O! Wow brush is.

I personally only tried with liquid foundation and I have to say I’m fascinated by the way it blends and spreads the foundation on the skin; I seriously felt that it gives me the same flawless result as a beauty blender.

The only downside, it’s that as with any dense brush it will take a long time to dry after cleaning.

✐ Hola chicas, hace unas semanas me enviaron esta nueva brocha para probar, de la marca Cailyn llamada: O! Wow Brush. Una brocha súper diferente a lo que estamos acostumbradas a ver, nada que ver con la típica lengua de gato sintética que usamos para base. A primera vista esta brocha parece un cepillo dental grande, pero en lo que la tienes, la tocas y experimentas con ella, te das cuenta lo ergonómica que es, lo suave y lo útil que realmente es esta O! Wow brush.

Personalmente yo solo la he utilizado con bases liquidas, y debo decir que el resultado que he obtenido me ha dejado fascinada. La forma que esta brocha difumina y esparce la base me encanta, se me hace muy parecida al acabado que me da la beauty blender.

El único detalle negativo que le veo es que al lavarla, tarda mucho en secar.

Ofra Silicone Makeup Primer Gel: Another amazing Ofra Cosmetics product! Gel base face primer, it feels like fresh water in your face, it absorbs super quickly and it leaves your skin nicely hydrated. Can't recommend it enough!

Hola a todos, Feliz Lunes! Espero que hayan pasado un lindo fin de semana del día del amor y la amistad o el tal Dia de San Valentin . Por mi parte yo celebre con mi esposo el viernes en un lindo evento, y el resto del fin de semana trabaje para MAC en la promoción de la nueva colección de primavera llamada Toledo.

The Makeup Show Orlando 2014 is coming in just a over a week! This is their third year here in the City Beautiful, and I couldn't be more excited. The Makeup Show brings so much more than just amazing products, it brings a load of education on all beauty. From keynotes, hands-on workshops, seminars and presentations there is no way you will leave without learning, networking and shopping the hottest must have pro-products in our industry.

The makeup Show welcomes Makeup Artists,Hair Stylists, Face & Body Painters, Photographers, Models, Stylists, Costume & Theater Design, Beauty, Fashion and Hair Students, And…Anyone in the Beauty, Hair, Nail and Fashion Industry!

So with that in mind, I want to give you a little insight of what I consider the must-see booths for this show. Keep in mind this is my personal opinion and there are many more companies and products to see but if you are new, or just need to start somewhere with recommendations then this is your place to start.

Hakuhodo Brushes

I was so excited when I saw this name on the list of vendors, as a proclaimed "makeup brush addict" this is a booth I'm going to spend a lot of time at. Hakuhodo Brushes are all handmade in Japan, and they are known to be the softest, well balanced and high quality brushes around. I have read a lot about them but have never actually ventured on purchasing one online, since the price point is on the higher side. Like I said before, this booth is a must see, touch and purchase on my book.

Senna Cosmetics

Senna Cosmetics is like a hidden gem, known mostly in the professional community; they have a range of wonderful cosmetics that are a must try. I have my eyes on their eyebrow book, face sculpting powders and Slipcover foundations all made in perfect palettes to suit a professional kit. Stop by say "Hi" and don't miss the seminar and keynotes that owner Eugenia Weston will be giving throughout the show.

Senna Brow Book

Nigel Beauty Emporium

An actual store located in Hollywood, California. Nigel bring a selection of products from their store, and from previous years experience in their booth they focus on selling lashes, makeup trunks and makeup bags. This is a busy booth, but if you are a working makeup artist is totally worth it!

Can't go wrong on stocking on lashes for your clients!

AJ Crimson

Created by Makeup artist AJ Crimson, his line focuses mostly on products for complexion. Recently releasing his new gamma of cream foundations in pan, as well as five new shades. This foundations can be use in all skin types and are very blendable with one another. I already have 3 shades in the regular pot, but I will be looking to add some new shades in pan size as well as his highlighter cream.

These brushes will surprise you, they are antibacterial, soft, and the green bambu line is perfect for those who prefer synthetic hair over natural. Did I mention affordable and super pretty? Yes, they even have some pink ones!

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics

Famously known for their liptarts, OCC offers way more than that. Check out their water base airbrush foundation as well as their concealers. All 100% vegan and cruelty free!

Temptu Pro

If you work doing bridal work like I do, there is no better airbrush makeup than Temptu Pro for long lasting results on any client. This silicone based foundation does not move and can withstand the Florida humidity like a champ! Of course I'm totally bias because this is been in my kit since I started airbrushing and I have not ventured out to other ones (which I'm thinking of doing with some OCC) I will recommend you try their sample package that includes all the colors and experience how awesome this product is! They also sell the compressors, accessories and much to use with airbrushing. Plus they have some amazing artist working at their booth that can answer any airbrushing question that you might have.

Only the coolest looking packaging ever right?! All looking like tall bullets, I actually tried one of their mascaras last year and it was amazing. I'll invited you to stop by and check them out, I feel like I miss out on so much by not stopping at their booth last year so this year is a must stop for sure!

Best and Worst Eyeshadow Primers

Have you ever hear of eyeshadow primers? Girl you said No? Well let me introduce you to the wonders of an amazing product that keep your eyeshadow in place and enhance the intensity of the colors as well. Whether your use a little bit of eye makeup or are the diva queen, I say this product is a must!

They come in different formulas, some very good some not so much!

In this post I want to show you the best and worst eyeshadow primers that I have used, from high end to drugstore. Swatches are below the review. What's your favorite eyeshadow primer?

Urban Decay Primer Potion (original formula) ♥

+ Comes in a gel form with a light beige tone. Evens out your lid and helps brighten your shadows . This is the one I used on my makeup kit for clients because of it's long lasting results, the shadows do not move,crease or loose life! And because it dries and stay so well, is great for oily lids.

Price: $20.00

Too Faced Shadow Insurance ♥

+ The texture is more liquidy than a gel, but it will still cover your lid and hide imperfections. Works great to hold your shadows all day, but won't help made them brighter because he goes on sheer. This primer will be great on all skin types, but sets really well and I will also recommended for oily lids.

Price: $20.00

Rimmel Exaggerate undercover shadow primer

This primer is really sheer, does not cover well or evens out your lid. It's a little shinny and do not set or help your shadows stay.

I would not recommend it for anyone. There is better drugstore options. See bellow (wink...wink)

Price around $5.00 Not worth it!

Milani Eyeshadow Primer ♥

+ This Milani primer has a gel texture, very similar to the Urban Decay and Too Faced primers. It can be a bit more sheer, but it's functionality is equally as good! I had used it on works days over 8 hours and the shadows hold up and do not move, they might not look as fresh after a long time but it does hold them in place.

This is my recommendation as the best Drugstore option!

Price: $ 6.99

MAC Soft Ochre Paintpot

+ Popularly sold as a primer, this is basically a cream eyeshadow with primer properties. Paintpots are longwearing and their texture is creamy. They come in a variety of colors but Soft Ochre is a light beige tone that works in light to medium skin tones. I like to used this paintpot over a primer to intensify the shadow colors. But I have used it by itself and it works well, but can move if I'm out in the heat. If you have very dry skin, this product will work great alone on your lid.

My Experience: T-Secret Spa Facial. Orlando

A month ago i was given the opportunity to check out a local Spa in Orlando called T-Secret. I had the pleasure to be worked on by the lovely esthetician Jane Johnson, who I have to say gave me the most deep, thorough facial I've ever had in my life! I’d like to give you a quick run through and review of my experience!

T-Secret is a spa that operates on one philosophy: “Problematic skin can look better with the use of Acne-care natural treatment products in combination with our signature Tamahra’s Secret Deep Pore Cleansing Treatment protocols”. The menu only has one facial on the menu but it is a facial that you will never forget. The facial is more a treatment than the relaxing facial you are probably accustomed to, but if you want results, then you need to keep reading.

The spa is located in the heart of College Park on Edgewater Drive. When you arrive your esthetician will guide you to a room in the back of the building where you will be provided with a gown, warm socks and a nice comfy reclining chair. From there you ready to get started!

First up, cleaning and prepping where they use only alkaline water to minimize the presence of bacteria. Then all of the products used are manufactured at a local lab containing no chemicals, preservatives, colors or fragrances. I liked that there was not big splash of water or shuffling of products, Jane has the system so down pack that the process felt very fluent and smooth.

After the cleaning and prepping comes the steaming! You go through steaming for about 20 minutes (three seven minute sessions) this is done the old fashion way, boiling water over a bucket and a towel over your head. I must say that I was surprised when Jane pulled out the little cart with the bucket, but after it was all finished I truly understood why she did it. You get all of your face and neck steamed with no cold spots that could close up pores as with a regular machine steaming. Jane also helped me adjust my body and position so that I could get comfortable during the process.

Next up, the biggie: Extractions! T-Secret prides themselves for being great at extractions, and I can say, “yes they are!” Jane had covered my skin with a gel prior to steaming and then right after she covered me with saran wrap to help keep my skin moist and pores open. I love that she didn’t use a metal extraction tool and was gentle, but firm with my face.

After the extractions, there are a series of simply amazing products layered onto your skin for masking, all made to especially calm and soothe the skin. I was able to feel how everything Jane placed on my skin was working together and I can imagine if you deal with frequent breakouts on your face that this part is going to feel like heaven! after masking, your get clean moisturized and are all done!

This is my skin after one month of having the T Secret signature facial, and I have to tell you that this treatment cleaned my skin amazingly! I've felt like all of my skin products are actually working now that my pores have been cleansed so thoroughly. The picture shows me with zero, yes zero makeup on! And as you can see in my after, my skin looks radiant and smoother. This treatment is totally worth it!

✐ Oh Spring! How I missed you! Even though you will be short lived, I want to let you know that you are my favorite season of the year. The chilly days are gone and now I get to enjoy your sunny days with little to no humidity (basically heaven!) I love you Spring so much that two years ago I got married in the month of April in which you so kindly gave us a perfect day!

But for real, beside the no humidity aspect of Spring, I truly love all the trends that start popping out in stores around this time; flowers, light fabrics, dresses and pastel colors. Have you heard of the Pantone's color of the year? Radiant Orchid. Yes, love it!

Speaking about radiant, what about our skin? Since I'm planning to be outside more I'll be using my Neutrogena Nourishing Long Wear with SPF20 like crazy. It's such a great foundation, it provides natural-looking coverage while evening your skin tone; and it seriously stays on my face all day without any powder on top, who wants a caked face anyways? This time of year is all about having a flawless complexion with no effort!

On today's #NeutrogenaBelleza look I not only used this foundation but my my Neutrogena crease proof eye shadow in Forever Platinum a creamy stick shadow that instantly brightens the eyes. I used it on the inner corner of my eye and added a bit of purple on the outside and crease area. Totally inspired by this year color Radiant orchid!

And to continue keeping it simple and Spring fresh, I added several layers of my Neutrogena Healthy Volume mascara, some pink blush and made my lips baby pink with Neutrogen a MoistureSmooth Color Stick in sweet watermelon. This stick gives a sheer shiny color and moisturizes with mango and shea butter. Oh and the smell sooo sweet and wonderful!

That's all for the look, without liner or strong contours. This Spring I want to look good without effort, just like the Neutrogena Makeup Wipes, which I use to remove my makeup at night. I'm a new user but I'm hooked! (read more about them here)

✐ Oh primavera como te ¡extrañe! Aunque sé que no te vas a quedar por mucho tiempo, quiero decirte que eres mi época favorita del año. Sin más días fríos, comenzamos a disfrutar del sol de la Florida con poca a nada de humedad (el cielo en tierra!) Es más me fascinas tanto Primavera que hace 2 años me case justo en el mes de Abril y debo decir que me diste un dia ¡perfecto!

Pero en serio a parte de la poca humedad que hay en esta época, a mí me encantan todos lo que empiezan a aparecer en primavera, las tendencias, las flores, las telas suavecitas, los vestidos y por supuestos los tonos pasteles. Oyeron del color del año anunciado por Pantone? Orquídea Radiante, huuu me encanta!

Y hablando de radiante, ahora que voy a estar más afuera estaré utilizando NeutrogenaNourishing Long Wear SPF 20, como loca! esta base tiene una cobertura natural y reduce la apariencia de decoloraciones y manchas, algo que el sol siempre afecta. Y no solo eso sino que se queda en la piel todo el día, yo tengo la piel combinación y no tuve que echarme muchos polvos o retocarme. Es perfecta para una apariencia natural y saludable.

Y ni se diga de su olor wow quede tan sorprendida cuando lo abrí, no me esperaba que oliera tan rico súper dulce!

Y ya, sin delineados fuertes ni contornos difícil. En esta primavera quiero verme fresca y sin mucho esfuerzo; justo como las toallitas de limpieza de Neutrogena las cuales uso para quitarme el maquillaje por las noches, soy nueva usándolas pero ya soy Fan! (lean más de ellas aquí)

This Vitamin E stick protects your lips and eyes contains the healing power of Vitamin E and Sun protection SPF 15. It’s colorless so it can be used under or on top of your lipstick; and it’s also excellent protection for the under-eye area. Good for both men and women.

I use it most of the time at night; I keep a stick in my bathroom and instead of applying an eye cream I use it around my eyes before I go to bed. Yep and let me tell you, using it in this way has made me totally fall in love with it! It’s so easy to apply, nice and creamy. It made the area around my eyes feel much more hydrated and soft. And because I use it before I go to bed I’m not worried that it feels semi greasy because in the morning I clean my face and then use a regular cream on my eye area.

The Vitamin E Stick also works great as a lip balm, but to be honest I haven’t used it as much as I’ve used it around my eye area. I’m the worst offender of putting lip balm before lipstick because I always forget L.

At $4.00 a stick, I 100% recommend this product if you want a quick alternative to an eye cream at night. It saves this busy mom some time during my night routine without sacrificing looking great in the morning!

✐ No les pasa a ustedes que tienen un producto, lo usan les gusta más o menos, lo abandonan, después lo descubren otra vez los empiezan a usar y ahora les ¡encanta! Jejejej... eso fue exactamente lo que me paso con la barra de Vitamina E de Reviva Labs.

Esta barra de protección de labios y ojos, contiene el poder medicinal de la vitamina E y protector solar de 15 FPS. No contiene color, y se puede usar debajo o encima del labial; al igual que en la zona de los ojos. Bueno para mujeres y hombre.

En mi caso tengo unas de las barritas en el baño y todas las noches la uso como contorno de ojos antes de dormir, debo decir que esta manera de usarla me ha hecho enamorarme de ella. La facilidad de aplicación y su cremosidad ha hecho que mi zona de ojos se sienta muchísimo más hidratada y suave. Y como es para ir a dormir no me preocupa que se sienta semi grasosa, ya que en la mañana yo me limpio el rostro y no me aplico esta barra sino que me coloco un contorno normal de ojos.

Su función como barra labial también es buena, pero para serles sincera no le he dado tanto uso como en la zona de los ojos. Soy la peor culpable ya que siempre se me olvida ese paso antes del labial.

Pero por $4.00 la barra, recomiendo esta barrita de vitamina E al 100% si eres flojita como yo en la noche te va a venir de ¡maravilla!

✐ It was inevitable that this moment was going to come :) Starting from my pregnancy posts on to my mommy experience posts, I've been wanting to have a little corner where I can share some more with you about mommy-hood; so today, i'm introducing my new section called "Mama Cat!" in which i'll be sharing my life as a new mom, product reviews, suggestions and more!

Let's start the new section with a review of Dr. Smith's Diaper Rash Ointment, a product sent to me kindly by them. This cream helps prevent diaper rash as well as seal in moisture from the baby's pompis...(little butt)
At first I wasn't sure if I was going to need it because even though I got it a month ago, I wasn't able to use it being that my baby is at home with me and I change him quite often and he hasn't had any rashes. But hey, nothing is perfect and just the other day I discovered some redness on him while changin his diaper. He has been really active lately, crawling over all the place and I believe the friction got to his little delicate skin. So, I said "perfect time to give Dr. Smith ointment a try!"

So I did, and guess what? I was impressed! The thick, white cream worked really fast. By the next diaper change I could notice a significant improvement and by the next one to two changes the redness was gone. I did clean him and reapply with every change. I was also satisfied with the fact that this diaper ointment does not contain perfumes or dyes, something I try to avoid on all baby products that I use.

In this case, as the box says, my baby stays with a "Happy Pomis!"

✐ Desde mis entradas de embarazada hasta las de nueva mama, siempre e querido tener un rinconcito en el que pueda compartirle cositas de mama, así que hoy estaré estrenando mi nueva seccio llamada: ¡Mamá Cat! En la que les traeré reseñas, anécdotas, sugerencias y más!

Para estrenar esta nueva sección les traeré la reseña de la crema de pañales de Dr. Smith’s , la cual me enviaron muy atentamente para probar. Esta crema ayuda a tratar y a prevenir la irritación del pañal, al igual que sella la humedad.

Me paso que aunque la crema me había llegado hace un mes, no había tenido muchas oportunidades de usarla dado que mi bebe no sufre de irritaciones por el pañal, yo siempre estoy en casa con él y trato de cambiarlo bastante seguido. Pero como Sebastián a estado tan activo gateando por todos lados, el otro día descubrí unas rojeces en los laditos de las piernas causado por el roce del panal mientras se mueve, al igual que otras rojeces en sus partes privadas. Momento perfecto en el que pude darle la prueba a la crema Dr. Smirth’s y ver que tal nos iba.

Debo decir que quede bastante impresionada, esta crema blanca gruesa; se la colocas al bebe y para la próxima cambiada de pañal ya vez mejoras en las rojeces. El envase dice que trabaja rápido y en mi experiencia debo decir que sí lo hace. Me gusta también porque tiene ingredientes simples y no contiene fragancias ni tintes, algo que siempre trato de evitar.

En este caso como dice la caja mi bebe quedo con “Happy Pompis”

St. Patrick's Day Makeup Tutorial - Día de San Patricio

✐ Although I'm no where near being Irish, doing makeup looks inspired by different holidays is always fun! Here in the US plenty of people, Irish or not, celebrate St. Patrick's Day with their friends and/or family. They go to parties or out on the town dressed in green! If you happen to be celebrating it this year and don't want to go full green, I bring you a photo-tutorial that will show you how to do this subtle look with green and golds that go with any outfit for this day.

Hi everyone! With the holidays and gift buying time coming up what about a fragrance review? I received this Super Playboy fragrances for women and men a couple of weeks ago and me and my husband have been testing them ever since. Below I give you our overall experience about both perfumes:

Super Playboy for Her:

Sweet smell and a bit floral
Soft smell that can be used for day or night
Smell stays on skin for hours but you can't smell it far away; meaning someone needs to be very close to your skin to smell it, this is after the first hour.
Cute packaging but not too elegant
Contains 1.0 fl oz
Will Recommend for someone young that like sweet smells: Super Playboy 2 Piece Gift Set

Super Playboy for Him:

Sweet, citric and sporty smell. Very Sexy
Smell stays on the skin for over 8 hours
Good for day and night but not so good for an office in my opinion
Simple packaging, a little more elegant than the woman's
Contains 1.7 fl oz
Perfect for your sporty man of the house that likes to look and smell good.

Debajo les dejo nuestras experiencias generalizadas de cada perfume:

Super Playboy para Ella:

Olor dulce y un poco floral
Olor bien suave que se puede utilizar durante el dia o noche
El olor se queda en la piel por horas, pero no huele mucho de lejos. Es decir tienen que estar muy cerca de tu piel para olerlo después de la primera hora.
El empaque es lindo pero no es muy elegante
Contiene 1 oz fl
Lo recomiendo para una muchacha joven que le gusten las fragancias dulces: Super Playboy Set de Regalo

SuperPlayboy para El:

Olor dulce, un poco cítrico y deportivo. Muy Sexy!
El olor se queda en la piel por más de 8 horas
Bueno para el día o noche, pero en mi opinión no tanto para un trabajo de oficina
El empaque es simple y un poco más elegante que el perfume de mujer.
Contiene 1.7 oz fl
Perfecto para el hombre deportivo de la casa, que le gusta lucir y oler bien.

My experience as a New Mommy! - Experiencias como nueva Mamá

Hi everyone! it's been two and half months since I gave birth to my little one and I have to say it's been an awesome and very intense experience! From an all natural labor to exclusive breastfeeding, I have gone through a ton of first time mommy experiences with and without assistance and even though I don't consider myself an expert, I did want to give you a little bit of insight based on my experience.

Natural (no medication) and Water Birth:

Your baby can go over 40 weeks safely, you do not need an induction unless medically necessary. My baby was born at 42 weeks, and was a healthy and strong boy.
Practice breathing slowly and meditation, if your labor goes long like mine (31 hours) it helps to keep calm and be aware of your body. I recommend reading the: "Hypnobirthing book" or taking their classes.
You CAN do it!...But a really good support team will make it so much better. I had my very supportive husband, my midwife and doula all giving emotional and physical support. With a 31hr labor it was amazing to have them all there.
Water will ease the pains of the contractions for sure but when it comes to the "ring of fire" that water didn't do a thing because I definitely felt that! hehehe Fire girls, it was intense!
Once the baby is out it's better to grab him/her and place him in your chest skin to skin, it feels amazing and baby is going to have less trauma. In my case my baby was with me for 40 min after being born and even fed for 18 mins; baby needed energy after all the hard work he did.

Family and Friends:

You will get tons of unsolicited opinions, suggestions, and old grandma's tales. I learned to listen and only follow what me and my husband decided it's best for our little family.

Try to avoid lots of visitors for the first two weeks, be honest with friends and family and let them know that it's better if they visit after that time. I was so tired one day that I had family come visit me on the first week that I basically told everyone to leave my house asap..lol.. I was a cranky tired mama.

Breastfeeding:

It's natural, it's instinctual and it's the best nutrition for the baby.
I recommend taking a Lactation Class while pregnant, it really helps. I think I would have needed a lot of help if it wasn't for that class.
It takes a lot of your time because babies feed very often (around every two hours) so you need lots of patience.
You're always conscious whether your top is breastfeeding friendly. I wish someone would have told me this before I gave birth because I would have had the time to go shopping for looser tops, and ones that were easy to pull down.
Pumping is inevitable!

Sleeping:

The first two weeks are definitely the hardest with respect to sleep, but after a while your body gets used to it and the baby sleeps longer at night. Again patience is your best friend when you have a newborn.
You can try to get the baby on a sleeping schedule but you must realize that everyday it will be different. In my case, around the three week mark I started doing a little night routine to prepare the baby to go to bed, so far it has worked well. I still do not have any day routine for naps, but I'm sure it will come in the near future.

Parenting Styles:

This is something that you will learn along the way, I never thought too much about co-sleeping, baby wearing or attachment parenting before, but now these are all things we are doing as a family. We might change things as the baby grows older, but in general my philosophy is to raise him in a loving and creative home. We sing, dance, make lots of funny faces and give him lots and lots of love!

I told you I have learned a lot, and I could actually could go on and on with different things about these past two and half months but I will leave if for next time. Yes I said "next time" I pretty much decided to hybrid my blog into a beauty/mommy one. Hey why not? Hope you guys don't mind much.
