General Expression web problems : Variable Page Width

I am trying to set up a page that will allow the width of the page to adjust to the width of the viewer's screen.

For example, the content section will stay at 80 percent of the available width regardless if the screen resolution is 640x480 or 1024x768.

I have seen that some of the templates available with Expression Web seem to do this but I can't see where the coding id to do it.

Any suggestions?

It would be in the css stylesheet. The divs would have id's and then that id would be in the css stylesheet with a # before it. They most likely have percentages in the styles. Without the html and css it is hard to tell you anymore than this. I will tell you that fluid designs like what you are talking about are much harder to build and maintain, and they do not always render exactly from browser to browser.

Hi:

I have a question about how to set up a page so that the elements on the page will maintain the same proportions regardless of the resolution of the viewer's screen.

My goal is that the columns and paragraph layout will remain the regardless of the width of the screen width. Basically, if the content is 80 percent width on a 640x480 resolution that it will also be 80 percent with a 1024x768 layout

It appears that the templates included with Expression Web do this but I can't figure how it is done.

Can anybody help.

Hi jayjay

Check to see if your host provides a means for backing up your website through the Cpanel.
I always have a copy of my site on my hd, for me this is in My Music. Remember that when you delete something in EW the deletion is permanent in that the file deleted does not go to the Recycle Bin.
You can burn your website to cd/dvd. Best done on a Rewritable if available.
There is 3rd party software available, do a google search if this interests you, I personally don't think this is worth it.
Make sure you keep your website backup up to date.

I'm changing my FP website to Expression Web page-by-page. I'm almost ready to publish with another host. However, I have not backed up my work. How do I back up my EW website on my computer and/or a CD before I publish?
