‘Supergirl’s’ Jason Momoa on Childhood Dream to Play Lobo: ‘My Guy’ (Exclusive)

Jason Momoa sat down with “Extra” to talk “Supergirl” and his role as interstellar bounty hunter Lobo.

He shared of playing Lobo, "This is my childhood dream and, I mean, I would never, ever dream that I would play this character. But if you could, you're like, 'Oh my God, I'm the guy.' ... I'll take on anyone to get this role."

Momoa said he was actually surprised when he landed the role of Aquaman instead.

Jason said of now playing Lobo, “He's my guy. Aquaman wasn’t my guy growing up. I loved Lobo... That's just my guy."

He shared, "I actually thought back then — because I knew they were doing 'Batman v Superman' — I'm like, the only guy who's gonna get in the mix... I know I'm not gonna play a good guy. They're gonna want me to come in and play a villain or someone, and I'm like, oh, it's gonna be Lobo because he can fight both of them. Like, that makes sense. And then Zack [Snyder's] like, Aquaman. I'm like, 'What?'"

He recalled when James Gunn and Peter Safran took over the DC Universe and reaching out right away. Momoa shared, "I'm like, 'Yeah, Lobo now. What's going on?'"

Describing the character, Momoa said, “He’s an antihero 100 percent, but I think he's that in everything. He has a code and it’s a pretty slippery code in some sections, but — it’s got clauses within that code. Definitely, he knows his wrong and his right, but he’s a bounty hunter, man. He’s gonna punch you in the face. He’s gonna fight you. But that’s why I love him.”

He also raved over his co-star Milly Alcock, who plays Supergirl, saying, “I think she killed this role. It’s a very challenging role. I think there’s a lot of heart and soul and there’s a lot of emotion in it.”

Jason said of the action scenes, “To do all that, it's challenging. Doing these superhero movies are tough. I’ve done quite a few and I've seen, you know, a lot of people doing them along with me. They’re sink or swim. I think she’s swimming. She did a great job.”

As for whether we will see more of Lobo in the future, Momoa said, “I think much like Aquaman, we got a glimpse of him. We got a bigger taste of him and then we get the full package. So, I feel like it’s all up to the audience. If they love it, people will wanna see more, we’ll do more. No one wants to not make a great movie. So I think if they like it and they like the character and they wanna see more, we're gonna find out and then we'll make more."

“Supergirl” is in theaters June 26.

'Gomer Pyle' Actor Ronnie Schell Dies at 94 — 1st Person to Use 'Gaslighting' on TV

Ronnie Schell, a veteran character actor remembered for his work on "Gomer Pyle: USMC," died Friday at 94.

Schell passed away from natural causes at UCLA Hospital.

Born December 23, 1931, in Richmond, California, he began his comedy career doing stand-up while serving in the Air Force.

One of his earliest gigs, in 1958, found him on a bill with Phyllis Diller and the Kingston Trio. He toured extensively with the latter, refining his act and joking of himself that he was America's "slowest-rising comedian."

When he was offered the role of Duke Slater, the best friend of the title character on the Jim Nabors sitcom "Gomer Pyle: USMC," he jumped at the chance. That lasted more than 90 episodes.

During his run on the show (1964-1969), Schell did something no one had ever done before. On the ninth episode of Season 2 (1965), his character suggested he and his buddies "gaslight" their sergeant (Frank Sutton). Though other examples exist of character referencing the 1944 George Cukor film, it was Schell's character who introduced gaslighting as a verb to the mainstream.

It didn't catch on right away. Schell said it on TV in 1965, it was commonly used around 2015, and it was Merriam-Webster's word of the year for 2022.

From 1958 until 2022, Schell racked up more than 140 credits on TV and in films, including appearing on "The Patty Duke Show" (1965-1966), "Good Morning World" (1967-1968), "That Girl" (1966-1970), "Love, American Style" (1970-1971), "Butch Cassidy" (1973), "Alice" (1977 & 1979), "Charlie's Angels" (1979), "The Love Boat" (1981), "Down to Earth" (1984-1985), and "Phil of the Future" (2004).

Widely recognized for his unique voice, he lent it to "Fred Flintstone and Friends" (1977), "Yogi's Space Race" (1978), "Battle of the Planets" (1978-1980), "Captain Caveman and the Teen Angels" (1977-1980), "Shirt Tales" (1982-1983), "Pound Puppies" (1986), "The Flintstone Kids" (1986-1988), and many more.

His film appearances included "The Strongest Man in the World" (1975), "Gus" (1976), "The Shaggy D.A." (1976), and "The Cat from Outer Space" (1978), all Disney gems. He was also in George Hamilton's surprise hit "Love at First Bite" (1979).

Schell, a popular draw at autograph shows, is survived by his wife of 58 years, Janet; two children; and one granddaughter.

Margaret Kerry, Who Inspired Tinker Bell, Dies at 97

Margaret Kerry, whose claim to fame was as the model for Tinker Bell in the Disney animated classic "Peter Pan," died June 11 after battling lung cancer. She was 97.

The death of the "irreplaceable friend, talented entertainer and loving mother" was announced on her Facebook page in a statement that read, "It is with profound sadness that we share news of the passing of Margaret Kerry (Boeke), our beloved Tinker Bell. Margaret passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on June 11, 2026, in Wilmington, North Carolina."

Kerry's third husband, Robert Boeke, preceded her in death just last month after six years of wedded bliss.

"Their love story was truly remarkable, having begun as sweethearts some seventy years ago — but separated by careers. Yet in 2019, the two reconnected to rekindle their love and enjoyed six wonderful years of marriage. It is like a fairy-tale to know that they passed so very close in time to one another — perhaps a testament to the love they shared."

The touching statement concluded, "And remember, on any given night, look up into the night sky and search for that 'Second Star to the Right'. Upon closer look, you might just notice that star shining a little brighter in Margaret’s honor."

Kerry's career was filled with interesting bullet points, including appearing more than 80 years ago in 1935's "A Midsummer Night's Dream," in "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" (1938), in "If You Knew Susie" (1948), and as Elizabeth Taylor's stand-in on "National Velvet" (1944).

She worked (from 1949-1952) on "The Ruggles," an early TV series that was shot in Hollywood at a time when most were filmed in NYC.

Also on TV, she was a part of 1959's "Clutch Cargo," "Space Angel" (1962-1964), "Captain Fathom" (1965), "The New Three Stooges" (1965).

But it was "Peter Pan" (1953) that was her calling card. She landed the job by dancing freely, choreographing her own routines, all of which were used in blocking the movements of the iconic Tinker Bell.

Though Tinker Bell was beguilingly mute, she did voice a mermaid in the movie classic.

She published her memoir "Tinker Bell Talks: Tales of a Pixie Dusted Life" in 2016.

Kerry was surrounded by her three children, all from her first marriage, when she passed away. Her family asked that anyone mourning her loss donate to the Wilmington, North Carolina, Thalian Association Community Theater.

Gene Shalit, 'Today's' Colorful Critic, Dies at 100

Gene Shalit, the frizzy-haired, bushy-stached, bow-tied movie critic for "Today" for 40 years until 2010, died in his sleep Friday. He had recently turned 100.

In a statement to NBC News, his family confirmed he "passed away peacefully."

Shalit was born in NYC on March 25, 1926, later growing up in New Jersey. He was always a writer, creating the school newspaper "The Spotlight."

In college, he edited "The Daily Illini."

In the '50s and '60s, as a PR man, he repped Dick Clark but dumped him over a radio payola scandal. Clark never forgave or forgot, but Shalit moved into doing his own writing rather than promoting other creators.

Shalit first came aboard the "Today" staff as a book reviewer in 1970.

Within three years, he had replaced anchor Joe Garagiola on the desk with his spirited, pun-obsessed "Critic's Corner." His tenure coincided with Barbara Walters, Bryant Gumbel, Jane Pauley, Matt Lauer, Katie Couric, and other top talent on the show.

Along with praising (and trashing) movies on the daily, he was also known as an expert interviewer. Some of his most famous meet-ups included his fit of hysterics when quizzing Carol Channing and the time he convinced Richard Burton to read names from a phone book.

Shalit became a pop-culture figure in his own right, finding himself parodied on "SNL" and invited to appear in "Tootsie" (1982).

Toward the end of his career as a film critic, he made waves by panning "Brokeback Mountain" (2005), identifying Jake Gyllenhaal's character as a "sexual predator." His gay son defended him.

Shalit was preceded in death by his wife of 28 years, Nancy, in 1978, and by their daughter Emily in 2012. He is survived by their other four children.

Nick Reiner Claims His Siblings ‘Reversed’ Decision to Fund Legal Defense

Nick Reiner and his former lawyer Alan Jackson are shedding light on why Jackson had to drop the case.

In December, Nick was arrested after his parents Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner were found dead in their Los Angeles home in December 2025. He has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder.

In February, Nick entered a not guilty plea.

Alan was initially hired to represent Nick but left the case in January. Reiner is now represented by L.A. County public defender Kimberly Greene.

Nick filed a petition earlier this week, posted by Deadline, asking for funds from his trust.

The trust is said to be worth more than $1.5 million, and the docs state that Nick was to receive half the trust when he turned 30. He’s now 32.

According to the papers, Rob and Michele set up trusts for Nick and his siblings Jake and Romy. The petition explains, "These smaller children’s trusts were created and funded independently of the far larger family trusts that hold the assets of the Reiner estate (the 'Reiner Family Trusts'); those trusts, and Nick’s interest in them, are not at issue here."

In an email, submitted with the docs, Nick’s lawyer Anita P. Wu, touches on Nick’s siblings initially being involved with conversations about his defense, adding that Reiner still owes Jackson money for his previous services.

She states, "The fees owed to Mr. Jackson’s firm are reasonable — they were negotiated and agreed to by Nick’s siblings on his behalf before they reversed that commitment."

Jackson supported Reiner’s petition with a declaration stating, "Mr. Reiner’s siblings participated in communications concerning the representation and agreed verbally to act as third-party payors for Mr. Reiner’s defense. The family representative and family members assured me that the retainer agreement would be promptly returned and that the agreed-upon funds would be promptly paid.”

He later added, "In late December 2025, the family representative informed me that none of the anticipated third-party funding would be provided. That position was inconsistent with the prior assurances on which my firm had relied… Without an available source of funding, continued private representation by my firm was no longer feasible.”

Jackson said if the funds become available "my firm stands ready, willing, and able to resume representation of Mr. Reiner in the criminal matter.”

It is unknown if the defense money was to come from Nick’s trust or from another family member’s trust.

Olivia Rodrigo is hard of hearing.

The singer opened up KISS FM UK’s radio show about the health issue, revealing she’s known about it since kindergarten.

While chatting about her new song “What’s Wrong With Me?,” she joked, “There’s quite a lot that’s wrong with me.”

The 23-year-old went on, “I’m actually like, 60 percent deaf in my left ear. So, if you were to sit on this side of me [gesturing to her left] and try to tell me a secret, I couldn’t make out what you were saying. So if you need to tell me a secret go right ear.”

What else is wrong with her? Olivia confessed during the convo, “Lying is fun.”

She explained, "My friends love to lie to strangers at parties, or like, lie to the Uber driver and be like, ‘Yeah, you know, I, like, go to college across the street and I’m like, blah, blah, blah.’”

Rodrigo previously spoke with the Hollywood Reporter about her hearing issues in 2023.

At the time, she said she discovered she was “a little hard of hearing” after a hearing test in kinder.

Referring to her friend Petra Collins vision problems, she told THR, “We always joke that I make music because I have bad hearing and she takes photos because she has bad vision.”

It looks like Elizabeth Olsen, 37, is pregnant!

Olsen is seemingly expecting her first child with husband Robbie Arnett.

In photos obtained by People magazine, Elizabeth was spotted with a visible baby bump while stepping out for a bite to eat at All Time Restaurant earlier this week.

The pregnancy comes years after Elizabeth and Robbie tied the knot.

In 2022, Elizabeth revealed that they eloped before the COVID pandemic.

In an interview for SiriusXM’s “The Jesse Cagle Show," she dished, "It was before COVID. I just never talked about it.”

“I had to work in England and there are visa issues with that,” she went on. “He wouldn’t have been able to come at all, actually. And also everything was so backed up. You couldn’t even, like, try to get married then. But it ended up working out.”

They first sparked romance rumors in early 2017 after they were seen together in NYC. At the time, a source told E! News, “They are in an exclusive relationship and Lizzie is excited about him. She deserves it. It's very new though, but they seem to like each other a lot already.”

Olsen already had kids on the brain when they first started dating. She told Modern Luxury about her home, “I was also thinking, 'There's this small room upstairs, which would be good for a kid.”

She added, “I don't know where things will lead, but I do think about it in that way: 'I think I could raise kids here.'”

Justin Baldoni Must Pay Blake Lively’s Legal Fees Relating to Counterclaim

Last month, Blake Lively was seeking punitive damages from Justin Baldoni after their settlement.

In court docs obtained by People magazine, a judge has ruled that Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios will not have to pay any punitive damages.

However, Baldoni and Wayfarer have been ordered to pay Lively’s legal fees relating to his failed countersuit. The amount has not been determined.

The judge wrote, "The Court concludes that, on this record, the Wayfarer Parties have failed to carry their burden of demonstrating that the Section 47.1 privilege does not apply, and Lively is therefore entitled to fees and costs."

The judge noted, however, "Lively's request for damages must be denied."

After the ruling, Lively’s lawyers Esra Hudson and Michael Gottlieb, said in a statement to "Extra," "Blake Lively won her motion under Civil Code Section 47.1. Today's ruling makes it clear that Ms. Lively brought her claims in good faith, that there was no evidence she acted with malice, and that she is the prevailing defendant under Section 47.1.”

"The Court is awarding Ms. Lively attorneys' fees and costs and has explained that a prevailing defendant under Section 47.1 may seek damages using different procedural mechanisms," they went on. "The parties' settlement agreement expressly preserves Ms. Lively's rights to obtain those damages.”

Baldoni’s lawyer Bryan Freedman told "Extra," "Once again, she failed... Ms. Lively was only awarded limited attorney fees for a single claim as part of a case that lasted only a matter of months, nothing more. Throughout this process, innocent people had their reputations unfairly tarnished. There was no sexual harassment. There was no retaliation. There was no smear campaign. The court recognized it, the record reflects it, and we have maintained it from the very beginning. We would not hesitate to stand up for the truth again.”

As part of the settlement, both parties have agreed not to appeal the judge’s ruling.

The “It Ends with Us” battle started in December 2024, when Lively filed a legal complaint with the California Civil Rights Department claiming Baldoni sexually harassed her on set.

Two months later, she also accused him of defamation. Baldoni denied all of Lively’s allegations.

He then filed the $400-million lawsuit against Blake and her husband Ryan Reynolds that was officially dismissed.

Justin also filed a $250-million lawsuit against The New York Times, but that was dismissed as well.

Tropical Smoothie Cafe is giving Disney fans a new way to taste summer before “Moana” reaches theaters.

The smoothie chain has launched the How Far You’ll Mango Smoothie, a limited-time offering inspired by Disney’s live-action “Moana,” which sails into theaters on July 10. Available now at participating Tropical Smoothie Cafe locations nationwide, the new smoothie blends mango, pineapple, and guava into a bright, tropical creation designed to channel the adventurous spirit of the film.

The release marks the brand’s second collaboration with Disney, following last year’s “Lilo & Stitch”-inspired Ohana Breeze Smoothie. That 2025 promotion was Tropical Smoothie Cafe’s first partnership with a Disney feature film and leaned into the family-centered spirit of “Lilo & Stitch” with a blue smoothie made from pineapple, mango, banana, orange juice, and blue spirulina.

This time, the inspiration is Moana’s journey beyond the reef. The How Far You’ll Mango Smoothie is being offered in two sizes: a 24-ounce regular and a 12-ounce kids’ size. Each purchase also comes with one of three collectible sticker packs inspired by Moana’s journey, while supplies last. Each pack includes five special-edition stickers, turning the smoothie run into a small take-home movie tie-in for kids and fans.

Actor James Handy’s Cause of Death Revealed

There are new details surrounding the death of James Handy.

Handy, who starred in “Top Gun: Maverick” among many other projects, died on June 3.

Now, TMZ has obtained a report from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner confirming his cause of death.

The report states that Handy died from a stab wound to the torso and suffered from “neck compressions.”

Previously, the Los Angeles Police Department released a press release stating that Handy was stabbed to death in the front yard of his Tarzana, California, home.

Police identified his girlfriend Wendy Gledhill’s son Michael Gledhill, 44, as the suspect.

The police stated that the suspect called 911and made a chilling confession: "I am the son of man. I just killed the man of sin.”

The press release went on, "Upon their arrival, officers discovered 81-year-old James Handy in the front yard of the residence, unconscious and suffering from a stab wound to his chest. The victim was transported to local hospital by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics, where he was pronounced deceased.

"The suspect flagged down nearby responding officers, telling them he was the one they were looking for. The suspect resides at the location with his mother, who is the victim’s girlfriend.”

Gledhill was arrested and booked on one count of murder at the Van Nuys Jail. His bail was set at $2 million.

According to his inmate record, his next court date is June 22.

Wendy spoke with DailyMail.com this week, and shared that her son Michael was previously diagnosed with schizophrenia and she said he had stopped taking his meds the week before.

“So I don’t think he was taking it at the time [of the alleged attack], but I don’t know for sure,” she said.

Wendy said she doesn’t know what caused the confrontation.

Now, she is “beyond devastated.”

“I was with James for 31 years and of course I loved him dearly,” she said. “This is so difficult.”

James' other projects included "Alias," "NYPD Blue," and "Castle." He also appeared in the Wolverine movie "Logan" and the original "Jumanji.”

Taylor Swift Makes History with Songwriters Hall of Fame Induction

On Thursday, Taylor Swift made history by becoming the youngest woman to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

For the history-making moment, the 36-year-old opted for a floral Givenchy dress with a thigh-high slit.

Taylor completed her look with a low bun and Mindi Mond earrings.

Stephen Spielberg introduced Taylor at the Songwriters Hall of Fame Induction ceremony, which is held at Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City.

Taylor's fiancé Travis Kelce was by her side for the special night and they shared a kiss as she was called up to the stage.

When the singer took the mic, she gave an emotional 21-minute speech!

Taylor shared of her songwriting, “If I look back at my entire 23-year career in music, the ups and downs, the industry battles, the trials and tribulations, the tears and the cheers and the dogpiling of doubt, the criticisms, both fair and unfair, the complete loss of privacy, the world tours and the ego wars and the twists of fate, the absolute magical chaos of this path that I chose… songwriting was the easiest thing I ever did… It was instinctual. No one taught me how to do it. I had to be taught how to entertain a crowd and and learn choreography and and be less annoying and navigate the industry and fiercely protect my own sanity. I had to learn all of that over time through difficult lessons and and massive amounts of trial and error and chaos and calamity. But songwriting for me was pretty much the only thing I ever just naturally did."

She was in tears as she thanked her parents Scott and Andrea Swift and brother Austin for their sacrifices, saying, "It was easy to songwriting over everything else in my life, but it couldn't have been easy for my parents and my brother to just pick up and move our entire family from Pennsylvania to relocate to Nashville so that I could hone my craft in the songwriting capital of the world."

Swift went on, "After it became obvious that this was not even remotely a temporary phase their tween daughter was going through, they uprooted their entire lives to move me to Music City. And even though words are supposed to kind of be my thing, I will never be able to express my gratitude to you guys for doing that for me. You're the reason I'm here today."

Taylor also thanked her fans, sharing, “Nothing delights and surprises me more than the fact that 20 years after my first song came out, they still want to read the next chapter. Nothing makes me happier than when someone tells me that they used to listen to my music with their parent and now decades later they listen to it with their own child or that they listen to it with their best friend or when a couple tells me that ‘Love Story’ is their song or somebody does a cute little dance to ‘The Fate of Ophelia’ or I hear people in different countries singing ‘Opalite’… I'm humbled by the ways that fans have immortalized my songs in their own individual ways, allowing them to be the underscore of some of their real life expeditions on this earth, the magnificent moments as important to me as the seemingly mundane.”

Swift is the world’s biggest pop star and has written or co-written more than 250 songs, including the hits “Love Story,” “Shake It Off,” “I Knew You Were Trouble,” and “Bad Blood.”

“Extra” recently spoke to Variety’s senior writer and chief music critic Chris Willman about her induction.

He said, “A lot of the greats have it happen for them in their early 40s, like Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, so she’s beaten them by about seven or eight years.”

To be considered for this year’s induction, Swift submitted her songs “All Too Well (10 Minute Version),” “Blank Space,” “Anti-Hero,” “Love Story,” and “The Last Great American Dynasty.”

“Dancing with the Stars” alum Lindsay Arnold, 32, is a mom again!

Arnold gave birth to her third child with husband Sam Cusick.

On Thursday, Lindsay announced their son’s birth, writing on Instagram, “Baby boy is here and we are so grateful and so in love.”

Arnold revealed that their son was born via C-section.

She also included photos of her and Sam with their newborn.

The day before, Lindsay was more than ready to meet her baby boy.

She posted pics of herself in her hospital bed, writing, “Here we go baby boy💙🥹.”

Lindsay broke the news of her pregnancy in November.

Along with some family photos, which included their two daughters Sage, 5, and June, 2, she wrote on Instagram, “BABY CUSICK #3 IS ON THE WAY✨✨. We could not feel more blessed, grateful, and excited.”

Lindsay added, “We love you so much already baby and we can’t wait to meet you!!”

The photos showed the family taking turns with the sonogram.

In 2023, Lindsay took a step back from “Dancing with the Stars.”

At the time, she explained on TikTok, “I’ve been thinking very heavily about it. And ultimately, this season is not going to work out for me and my family.”

She noted, “I know that’s not the answer that probably some of you want to hear, but at the end of the day, it’s what’s best for me and my family.”

Lindsay and Sam have been married since 2015.

The search for Savannah Guthrie’s mom Nancy Guthrie has been ongoing, but it looks like it’s ramping up.

It has been reported that Buscando Corazones Nogales, a Mexican volunteer group that looks for missing people, received an anonymous tip about an unmarked grave in Mexico that might belong to Nancy.

Ramona Guadalupe Ayala Ortiz, the head of Buscando Corazones Nogale, told El Imparcial that volunteers have been searching remote areas near the U.S.-Mexico border in the hope of finding Nancy, who was abducted from her Arizona home in early February.

The volunteers have reportedly come across 25 unmarked graves, but none were connected to Nancy’s disappearance.

In response to the report, Chris Nanos of the Pima County Sheriff’s Department said, “We are aware of reports regarding an anonymous tip related to the Nancy Guthrie investigation that was provided to a group in Mexico. At this time, we have not been contacted by Mexican authorities.”

Nanos added, “This investigation remains active and ongoing, and we will continue to follow up on any credible information.”

Earlier this month, Savannah posted a heartbreaking message about her missing 84-year-old mom.

Posting a religious work of art, she captioned it, "Oh my, my soul / it cries out, soul, it cries out."

She signed off with "Bring her home" and a yellow heart.

Colin Farrell is dishing on Season 2 of his genre-bending mystery drama and sci-fi series “Sugar.”

Farrell spoke to "Extra" and teased what's in store for John Sugar, sharing, “He’s definitely contending with more human experiences in the second season than he hand to contend with in the first one. I think that’s by virtue of just being alone and being bored and being vulnerable, so he’s a little shaken at the start of the season. And he’s open to romance, he's compelled toward violence, and he's questioning both."

He added, "But fundamentally, at his core, he's a really decent character who has an unshakable belief in the goodness of human beings, which as we all know is, I think, a pretty hard belief to inhabit fully all the time when we look around us and we see what takes place on this planet."

This season, Colin had the chance to work with Laura Donnelly, who he called “amazing.”

He added, “She was just brilliant, just every single take, the depth of what she did, the fun, the sensuality, the breeziness of it all. It wasn’t hard to imagine John Sugar just being gravitationally pulled into her web, so to speak.”

According to Farrell, he was “spoiled” to get to work with Laura, Jin Ha, Raymond Lee, Tony Dalton, and Sasha Calle.

He explained, “Each character brought something very distinctly different, some aspect of John Sugar out."

Colin also said we’ll find out more after that extraterrestrial twist in Season 1.

He dished, "There's certainly some context given to John's journey up until this point that we were without in the first season, and there’s a little bit more exploring of the mythology of why they came here.”

Farrell is hoping that the show has a third and fourth season, saying, “There’s some really fun things, really cool things I think we could do with that mythology, like really have fun exploring. And what would the end look like? I don't even know. We don't have an arc. We just don't know. Where would it end? Would Sugar get to go home? Would he fall afoul of some nefarious forces here and be extinguished on this planet?"

John Sugar is such a unique and deeply polite guy — is he a hard character for Colin to shake off?

He answered, “He's not loud, do you know what I mean? He doesn't have any tics. He's not so burdened by any emotional or psychological injury... [He's] not hard to shake off because he’s just a lovely [guy]. There’s a simplicity to him that I grew to really appreciate."

“Supergirl” star Milly Alcock and screenwriter Ana Nogueira sat down with “Extra” to dish on the epic new movie.

Milly explained she pushed herself to take the role of Supergirl, saying, “I think that I just kind of looked at myself in the mirror and I was like, 'Who am I to say no to this big incredible opportunity?' I was daunted by the undertaking of the role and the world and everything, but ultimately the fear is what made me know that I really needed to do this… I get one life. So why not just go for it? Like, what am I trying to not do?"

Alcock also loved the source material, adding, “Tom King’s book ‘Woman of Tomorrow’ was just so beautiful and surprising and nuanced and I was like, ‘Oh, if I’m gonna do a film of this scale, I want it to be this.’”

She described her character in the film, saying, “Kara is someone who is neglecting any form of self-care, responsibility. She’s basically escaping from herself because she’s dealt with some pretty horrific things. She’s feeling incredibly isolated and she doesn’t want the responsibility that she has. I think she has survivor’s guilt. So, there’s an element of, like, let me self-destruct and self-detonate because I don’t deserve to be here, let alone deserve to be here and be an important person. Like, that is such a terrifying thought for her.”

Alcock also praised her co-star Jason Momoa, who plays Lobo, gushing, “The thing with Jason Momoa is that he was so excited to play this part. Like, he was born to, I think, exist in these specific worlds. There is just a charisma on-screen that is actually very hard to do and Jason can just carry that really effortlessly. So him as Lobo, I think he’s perfect in the film, honestly.”

Ana talked casting Milly in the role, sharing, “It was honestly everything about Milly because it was what she authentically brings to it. It doesn't feel like an actor trying to put on grit. It just kind of felt lik she was bringing herself into it and it didn’t feel overly polished or false.”

She revealed, “We did all actually cry at Milly’s audition… We were trying to keep it to pretty crying just to not make it too obvious how much we loved her performance.”

Nogueira also spoke about adapting the “Woman of Tomorrow” comic into a movie, saying, “It’s really challenging because there is so much in there that’s so great that you can’t put in… for various reasons.”
