K1 2008 Semi Final Fight Card

The K1 2008 Quarter Final fight card was a fully stacked card with great K1 kickboxing action. Still a little scour about the Zambidis Vs Kraus fight still think that he should have won the decision. My favourite K1 Fighter Buakaw KO’ed in the third round by Yoshihiro Sato. I’m looking forward to see the strong Ukranian fighter Artur Kyshenko take on Andy Souwer but Souwer’s experience should give him the win. Artur does have the skill to be a force in the K1 arena.

The Oct 1st K1 2008 WorldMax Final will be an exciting fight card with two former K1 WorldMax champions entering the Semi Final.

Masato defeated Drago in the Quarter finals to fight against Yoshihiro Sato. who knocked out Buakaw.

2 time K1 WorldMax Champion and defending Champion Andy Souwer defeated Warren Stevelman. He’ll be facing Ukranian fighter Artur Kyshenko after he defeated Yasuhiro Kido.

Overall the K1 WorldMax was a fantastic fightcard with all fighters willing to go toe to toe. FightFan’s favorite was the Buakaw vs Sato fight. Sato just didn’t go down, Buakaw landed some heavy shots but Sato was like the terminator, he just kept coming back for more.

Definitely look forward to Sato Vs Masato this Oct 1st. Based on how Sato managed to use his range to keep Buakaw back I honestly think Sato rain on Masato’s K1 parade. I think for sure is that Masato’s is going to have to hit Sato with bombs.

K1 2008 WorldMax Drago Vs Masato

All three round Masato skillfully dominated Drago with great combinations keeping Drago on the backfoot and covering up. Drago managed several head high kicks that didn’t connect well enough to effect Masato.

Masato continued to keep Drago on the backfoot with 4 punch combinations and deadly low kicks to Drago’s lead leg.

Winner: Masato

K1 Yoshihiro Sato vs Buakaw

We’ve missed out on posting on the several fights due to problems with the laptop.

I’ll try to write up the fights later.

another upset for the night with Fan Favourite Buakaw Por.Pramuk loses his quarter final fight against Yoshihiro Sato in the third round. Sato hits Buakaw with a short right hand and floors Buakaw for the win.

K1 Haruaki Otsuki Vs David Douge

K1 Konstantine Trishin Vs Susumu Diaguji

60kg Fight Card.

Round 1
Sumumu takes the center and tries to throw heavy leg kicks but misses. Trishin tries for a head high kick but misses. Both fighters start to focus on low kicks. Sumumu looking to land heavy punches and kicks but misses. Trishin lands more legs kicks and punches and finishes the round strong.

Round 2

Susumu opens up with leg kicks, both fighters opening up with punches and kicks, Trishin attacking Susumu with great combinations, back fists. Susumu seems to be overwhelmed as trishin changes up his attacks.
Trishin keeps Susumu guessing with spinning back kicks and backfists. Trishin finishes very strong with another spinning back kick attempt.

Round 3

Both fights open up with punches looking more like a brawl. Trishin works the punches using great angles, keeping Susumu guessing. Trishin beating Susumu to punch and landing more effective punches.

Susumu lands a heavy body shot but Trishin returns with great combination. Both fighter go toe to toe as the round ends.

Winner: Konstantine Trishin

k1 Daisuke Uematsu vs Eddy Juozapavicius

60kg Fight card

Round 1
Both fighters try to control the center of the ring, with both fighters trading punches. Daisuke lands several knees and lands one on Eddy’s forehead which gets an 8 count from the ref. The fight resumes. Diasuke continues to land knees and floor Eddy once again.

Towards the end of the first round Diasuke lands another knee which ends the fight for Eddy under the K1 3 knock down rule.

Winner: Diasuke Uematsu

K1 Warren Stevelmen Vs Andy Souwer

Round 1
Warren controls the center of the ring, Warrenvery active throwing heavy punche. Very effective hooks. Souwer landing effective heavy punches and lands a knee in the closing secs and has Warren dancing with rubber legs across the canvas as the bell rings.

Round 2
Warren throws great combinations but Souwer’s defence is good. Souwer comes forward with heavy body shots.�? Souwer works the low kicks and changing angles. Flying knee from Souwer grazes Warren, with both fighter ending up in the clinch.
Round 3

Souwer with a lead leg kick and�? Heavey right hand tags Warren and sends him backwards to the opposite corner, Souwer hunts him down.Warren recovers and fires off combinations but nothing gets through.

Souwer lands a knees in the later secs of the round, Souwer lands a right to end the round.

Winner:Andy Souwer

This was a great fight. I look forward to seeing more fights from Warren Stevelman. Throws very heavy punches, able to mix up the combinations with effective leg kicks. I think if he works on his defense, we’ll definitely see him again.

K1 WorldMax Yasuhiro Kido Vs Artur Kyshenko

Round 1
Both fighters work their low kicks with Kido landing nice double low kick combinations. Both fighters trying to land effective leg kicks

close round with possible lead for Kido.

Round 2

Artur throws the�? heavy punches and continues to attack Kido’s lead leg. Towards the end of the round leg kicks looks to take their toll.

Round 3

Combinations from artus and the�? Artus controlling the fight with heavy leg kicks. Towards the middle for round, Kido tries to attack Artur lead leg with heavy kicks but is too tried to make it effective. Kido lands a few knees by they don’t seem to effect Artur as he returns with heavy leg kicks and punches.

Artur manages to throw nice combinations and leg trips.

Winner: Autur Kyshenko

K1 Albert Kraus vs Mike Zambidis

Round 1
Zambo takes the center of the ring, both fighters attacking each wtith low legs kicks. Kraus with nice combintations with Zambo attacking Kruas with body shots.

Zambo, stays active as usually with throwing nice combinations with Kraus firing off controlled shots. Kraus with the clinch and fires off 2 knees. Ref warns Kraus.

End of the round 1.

Round 2
Krais more actrive int he round. Zambo works the body with 2 heavy punches to Kraus. Zambo still the more active of the two but kraus lands some knees.

Zambo lands heavy body shots with Kraus returning with knees. Zambo working the heavy punches.

End of Round 2

Doctors check Zambo eyes which has swollen after Kraus knee in the first.

Round 3
Zambo works the body. Kraus being very tentative with his strikes. Zambo is the more active landing heavy punches to the boday and head. Kraus works the jab and knees but Zambo returns with body shots. Throwing heavy left and right hooks.

Hight kick from Zambo and continues to press the action.

Kraus lands a knees a opens another cut neat Zambos eye.
Ref stops the fight wth 20 secs..

Fight resumes and Zambo fires off great heavy shots, the round ends with Zambo and Kraus going toe to toe as the bell rings.

The winner: Draw.
The fighters prepare for the next round. Doctors won’t allow Zambo to return for the next round.

K1 2008 WorldMax at Live at the Budokan

With stacked fight card, K! WorldMax 2008 will looks to be a fantastic fightcard for Kickboxing fans.

The preliminary fight Owatari vs�? Masaki proved to be exciting fight with Owarati winning with a TKO over Masaki. Doctor stoppage due to cut under the eye.

Stay tunned for the next fight Albert Kraus Vs Mike Zambidis.
