Pygmalion Effect - Expect More - Achieve More - News

One of the most interesting psychological effects is called the Pygmalion effect. This occurs when the expectations of a person, given by others or by ones self turn out to be a self fulfilling prophecy. Take a look at the graphic with this post. Pratfall Effect - Mistakes Do Not Hurt Your Reputation

Recent psychological studies have shown that making mistakes makes you more likeable, more popular and less threatening to others around you. This is especially good to remember if you are worried about making mistakes when you have found someone that you are particularly fond of.

People that are too perfect give off an air of invincible perfection. This actually pushes people away from them, and they wonder why.

Psychologists say that this is because of something called the Pratfall effect. You can learn more about the Pratfall effect by clicking on the link at the top of this page.

Senior Citizens Are Being Abused in Homes for the Aged

Senior Citizen Injury and Neglect in Homes for Aged

In the name of profit, management and owners of Homes for the Aged are neglecting and abusing our senior citizens. Not enough staff, underpaid staff, just because these are for profit centers. Too many workers are underpaid, then they are not even allowed to work 40 hours a week. That saves the home the cost of providing health care for their employees.

Seniors who paid for long term care in their homes, are being abused and scammed by the CNA personnel hired to take care of them. Dementia patients rarely live more than one or two years in these homes. But their peers who have family to care for them live 5 to 10 years more.
