SIGNAL IDUNA

The SIGNAL IDUNA Group (www.signal-iduna.de)is one of Germany's ten largest insurance companies. Given exponentially growing volumes of data, SIGNAL IDUNA had serious concerns about the extremely slow access and data backup speeds of an online storage system based on a four-node, Microsoft Windows 2003 cluster. A detailed investigation revealed that, in addition to the business-critical files frequently accessed, there was also a considerable volume of seldom-used files that took up a disproportionately large amount of online storage space. ARX enabled SIGNAL IDUNA to free up a massive amount of online storage space, greatly improving performance.<div class="feedflare">

PharmaML is a new protocol aimed at standardizing stock management processes in France's pharmaceutical industry. TEVA Sante, one of the largest generic pharmaceutical companies in the world, recognized that the new standard presented data security issues. The company began a major IT project focused on addressing these issues while still ensuring reliability and service levels for the various sales channels. By implementing F5 BIG-IP Application Security Manager, TEVA Sante has been able to secure its online ordering system, maintain high availability, and achieve regulatory compliance in the face of changing competitive needs and industry standards.<div class="feedflare">

Fortify Security is highly experienced in delivering customer solutions based on the BIG-IP Application Delivery Networking system. After testing the beta version of BIG-IP version 10 (v10), the company was so convinced of the value of the upcoming release that it deployed the beta to its production web servers. With BIG-IP v10, Fortify Security has experienced a 60 percent reduction in server load, and believes that the new version will result in performance improvements as well as significant data center cost savings for its customers.<div class="feedflare">

Lulu used ARX to virtualize its file storage and create a global namespace, which is essentially a logical representation of the file systems being virtualized. This dramatically reduces the number of mount points the IT staff needs to manage, streamlines data movement, and enables simple, logical access to physical file systems. Equally important, the global namespace hides storage changes from Lulu's customers.<div class="feedflare">

When SAP was looking for a solution to replace their previous VPN technology, they chose the FirePass device from F5. The FirePass device allowed SAP to overcome the limitations and complexity of their previous solution, and provide nearly 7,000 SAP employees secure remote access every day, from any location, using any type of device.<div class="feedflare">

The policy-driven data management provided by F5 has enabled Shopzilla to automate many tasks that had previously been performed manually. As a result, the company has experienced both direct savings, by eliminating the need for high-cost support on older equipment, and indirect savings, by freeing critical IT resources to focus on other business-critical initiatives.<div class="feedflare">

The West Chester Area School District is one of the largest districts in Pennsylvania. The district found the costs of upgrading its Citrix-based virtual private network (VPN) prohibitive. Instead, the school district implemented FirePass SSL VPN from F5 at less than half of what the Citrix upgrade would have cost, and with greatly expanded capabilities.<div class="feedflare">

Automated storage tiering with F5 has enabled Wiley to efficiently manage its constantly expanding volumes of unstructured data without incurring major infrastructure changes.
