4 pm - YRUU, High School, meets with Rev. Jennifer, Parker House basement:  Likeness to God – What does it mean to say that we are made in the image of God? Contact Drew or Sicily if you need a ride. All ages are worshipping together today as we celebrate Samhain.

This will be a multi-generational celebration of Samhain, the pagan “Day of the Dead” observance. As in past years, please bring a photo or memento for our altar of a loved one who has passed away.

Bringing back an old tradition, we invite children of all ages to dress up for this event.

The youth choir will perform at 11:15. Chanting and drumming will be serve as additional musical offerings, and Liz Wiley will be our vocalist.

Please stay after the 11:15 service for a Halloween Harvest Potluck!

Traditions with a Wink, Middle School, Field trip to UU Fellowship of the Peninsula, Newport News
YRUU, High School, the high school youth will meet today in Parker House (topic: TBA)

Middle School RE Road Trip to Newport News UU Fellowship-Sunday, October 18th: The Middle School Faith Development class will be taking a trip to see another UU Congregation as part of the “Traditions with a Wink” religious education curriculum. Permission forms are going to parents this week. Please return them to Margaret Sequeira (dlfd-at-wuu.org) by Wednesday, October 14 or bring them with you this Sunday. Jan Newton and Peter Mellette have agreed to chaperone and drive the group. The class will leave from the Parker House at 10:30 am on Sunday, October 18th for Newport News, so plan to arrive no later than 10:15 and plan to pick up at 1:15 at the Parker House. Please let Margaret, Jan, or Peter know if you are interested in attending the “coming of age” intergenerational service in Newport News that day as well.
