         <title>Design Your Dream Doughnut - Finalists Selected!</title>
         <link>http://blog.frostology.com/frostology/2011/06/design-your-dream-doughnut-finalists-selected.html</link>
         <description>Dear Fans &amp; Friends of FROST,
Thank you so much for your submissions in our 2nd Annual Design Your Dream Doughnut competition! We definitely have the most creative fans around!
After combing through hundreds of amazing ideas, we have selected three finalists to take part in our tasting during our National Doughnut Day event on June 3.
Because we could only select three finalists, here's some of the criteria we used to make our picks:

Likeability  We chose flavors we thought would have broad appeal.
Feasability  We have to be able to create the doughnut in a high-production kitchen, and the cost of ingredients must be realistic.
Novel  We only selected flavors that were not on our existing list for future development, or were too similar.

THE FINALISTS ARE:
&quot;Irish Car Bomb&quot; by Stephanie Chen&quot;A chocolate cake doughnut baked with Guinness and topped with Bailey's frosting and garnished in chocolate shavings.&quot;&quot;Ballpark Pretzel&quot; by Melissa Carlstedt
&quot;Perfect salty sweet goodness that reminds you of summer and the ballpark! Chocolate cake doughnut with a lightly salted caramel frosting dipped in crushed pretzels and drizzled with white chocolate.&quot;
&quot;Bacon Apple Pie&quot; by Jen Traeger
&quot;A bismarck doughnut with apple pie filling, topped with maple icing and brown sugar bacon.&quot;

Can we say YUM? Join us for our National Doughnut Day celebration THIS FRIDAY, June 3 from 4pm - 6pm and taste the finalists doughnuts and vote for the winner (we'll be tasting till close at 8 or until we run out). We will also be announcing special category and honorable mention winners soon.
Thank you again for all the great submissions!

         <title>In the battle of Seattle cake pops, FROST wins...</title>
         <link>http://blog.frostology.com/frostology/2011/05/in-the-battle-of-seattle-cake-pops-frost-wins.html</link>
         <description>From the Seattle Weekly Voracious Blog:
&quot;Left in Starbucks' hands, cake pops might languish after their fifteen minutes of fame. Enter Frost Doughnuts. The gourmet donut shop introduced their version of cake pops -&quot;Frost Pops&quot; - a month ago and they've been selling out ever since. Though Frost Pops come in boutique-style cellophane bags tied off with pink ribbons, these pops don't just rely on their good looks. Frosting, butter cream and even cream cheese are blended directly into various flavors of cake donuts, creating moist, slightly dense and rich cake pops. You'll become a fool for them in no time.&quot; ...[more]

         <link>http://blog.frostology.com/frostology/2011/03/seattle-weekly-puts-frost-2-on-seattles-top-5-doughnuts-list.html</link>
         <description>Topped only by everyone's favorite fresh mini-doughnut vendor at Seattle's own Pike Place Market, FROST has been named the Top 2 doughnut in Seattle.
The Seattle Weekly Siiri Sampson raves, &quot;With a flavor matrix that puts even the Cheesecake Factory to shame, Frost has recently taken the Eastside, and now Seattle, by storm.&quot;
&quot;Seeing as though we haven't opened our first Seattle store yet, we are extremely honored by this ranking,&quot; said Daniel Sterling, one of FROST's owners. &quot;It makes us even more enthusiastic about our planned expansion South. Thank you to the Seattle Weekly for recognizing what a rich food culture we have just outside the metro area.&quot;
Check out the entire list at the Seattle Weekly's Voracious Blog.

The Seattle Food and Wine experience features some of the Seattle area's premier restaurants and wineries including Andaluca, Earth &amp; Ocean, The Capital Grille, Ruth's Chris Steak House, Chateau St. Michelle and many more.

         <title>Seattle Metropolitan Magazine: FROST is #1 (and #2!)</title>
         <link>http://blog.frostology.com/frostology/2011/02/seattle-metropolitan-magazine-frost-is-1-and-2.html</link>
         <description>What makes for a winning doughnut? Seattle Metropolitan Magazine tasted 17 varieties from doughnut shops around the Seattle area to determine the best, and FROST took the #1 and #2 spots in the rankings!

Our Salted Caramel took #1:

Tasters’ notes: This sticky-sweet-salty confection easily earned the rank of top doughnut, despite a few clamors for more salt. One taster said, “Absolute heaven! Perfect combo of sweet and savory.” Another said, “The taste doesn’t overwhelm, but definitely caramel.” Another simply said, “Wowzers.” Indeed.

And our Smokey Bacon Maple Bar was #2:
  Tasters’ notes: Big points here for the deft combo of savory and sweet. “Really, improbably good,” said one taster. Another commented, “The saltiness of the bacon offsets the sticky sweetness of the doughnut.” Another summed it up: “Everything is better with bacon.”

         <title>FROST in Top 3 Best Desserts - 425 Magazine 2010</title>
         <link>http://blog.frostology.com/frostology/2010/07/frost-in-top-3-best-desserts-425-magazine-2010.html</link>
         <description>From 425 Magazine:
 Our readers have no problem offering up their opinions, that’s for
sure. This second annual Best of 425 is a result of all of their votes.
 So many votes. Consider this a comprehensive guide to the area you work
 and play in. It’s like we talked to several thousand of your closest
friends in order to find the best food, businesses, places to stay and
more. If you don’t agree with the results, vote next year. And if you
feel miffed that something from Seattle made your 425 list, well, don’t
 kill the messenger.
    It is with great honor and admiration that we present to you
the Best of 425 winners. Congratulations to all who made this
prestigious list.[MORE]</description>
