I can't tell how much I loved this class. Catherine gave really great tips and advises. She made a beautiful illustration. It is a such great source of inspiration. I love her style so much.

I really had a blast making this illustration. There are few mistakes in my drawing but I love how this turned out.

Hi everyone!

Happy New Year to all!

I'm participating to Creative Jumpstart 2021 online workshop. It has started yesterday. This year is the celebration of its 10th anniversary. For this occasion 45 artists (instead of 31 usually) present their project about the theme "Storyteller" from January 1st to February 14th.

What a nice way to start the year!

Great first class from Nathalie Kalbach who sharing her family story!

I chose the word Courage for 2021. We need some for all the life challenges we have to face.

Here my sign. I used watercolors, oxide inks and Nathalie’s Santiago 9x12 stencil.

Winter Scenery - Creative Squad Team Project - December 2020

Hi everybody!

I'm here today to show you my project for the Creative Squad Team.

The theme of this month is “Light and Shadow”. It made me think right away of a winter scene during a snowy day in the forest, where we can see the shadows of trees and some light coming from the moon.

It has been a while that I got Nat's "Art Deco Wallpaper" 9x12 stencil. Since the beginning, I was seeing in this pattern a leaf shape. So I got the opportunity to use it and made some trees.

Artsy Calendar - "100 Moons Creative Collab" Project

Hi everybody!

Today I'm showing you my new project for "100 Moons Creative Collab" Team.

I made a desk calendar easily portable in a box. I thought it would be a great idea to make a calendar for this coming new year 2021 as we are already in December! It really is a fun project and a great opportunity to use your stamps. The most challenging thing for me was which stamps to choose because they are so many I love.

Flowers Mini Art Journal

Hi everyone!

I'm here to show you a mini art book I made last month! I already posted some pictures and a video on my social media but I realized that I forgot to post it here on my blog. Better late than never, right! So here it is!

Mini Art book with handmade carved stamps

During the summer, I started to carve my own stamps. I was in a mood for carving some flowers. I wanted to do that for a while. Finally, I had some time to play and let my creativity flow go.

I'm always amazed how sometimes spontaneity can be my best friend. I had no plans. I just started to play with the stamps I carved and some watercolors. I have no idea that it could have led to this when I started.

I worked on a 9x12 piece of 90 lbs watercolor paper cut in 3 strips (4x12). Then I folded the strips equally in the length. Finally I assembled them with strong tape to get an accordion book. I usually used 140lbs watercolor paper. As I just wanted to stamp them with watercolors and see what I could get, in that case I usually like using lightweight watercolor paper.

The cover has been made with two pieces of thick cardboard and a piece of old jeans. I often use the cardboard I kept from paper pads, packaging or cereal boxes. The piece of jeans has been simply glued with Tacky glue on the cardboard. I used a piece of coton fabric to cover the inside. Then, I only glued the last page of my accordion on the right inside cover.

I love how this flowers mini art book tuned out. (more photos and video below). That is really my favorite thing to do: making art book/journal.

Most of the time, I think that the simplest things are the best.

Hi everyone!

I'm here today to show you my project for the Creative Squad Team. The theme of this month is "In my Dreams".

The first idea that came to my mind for this project was to let you enter into my dreams through a Dreamcatcher. Here it is!, made with the Nathalie's Mini Motifs and Wabi Sabi stamps sets. So many things can be made with these versatile stamps.

24 days of Art Mail Challenge

Hi everyone!

Today, I'd like to talk to you about the "24 days of Art Mail" Challenge that starts on May, 1st 2020 in collaboration with Rubbermoon and 100 Proof Press.

This challenge is about making Faux Postage Stamps, Envelopes and Handwritten letters.
Theme will be different each day as a guidance.

For sure, it's going to be a lot of fun...I'm so excited to participate.
It's a nice opportunity to play with your Rubbermoon and 100 Proof Press stamps if you have some.

Personally, as I love "Faux Postage Stamps", I will make some using my blank rectangle stamp from "100 Proof Press".
For those who were part of the Rubbermoon MoonMail Club last year, you can also use the December 2019 exclusive postage stamp. It's about an ATC size but it will still work well for having fun.
If you don't have any blank postage stamp, you can also make your own or use some postage paper from "100 Proof Press" as well. Just giving some ideas...
Also if you want to do some envelope, any size and shape will work. It's really up to you.
The purpose is to have fun and share some Art of any kind.

We will be thrilled if you participate and share your "Art Mail" work on Instagram using the hashtags #100mooncollab or #100moonsmailart . If you are a Kae Pea's patreon, you can also participate posting your Art Mail work using the same hashtags on the "Kae Pea's ComMOONity" FB page.

I’m so excited and honored to join this creative team.

Notebook Cover

Hope you had a wonderful weekend.

I had promised I would come back with more projects with my artwork printed on fabric (ref. article posted on February, 24th 2020).

This new sewing project is a cover for a sketchbook I had for a white. It's a very easy project to sew if you are a beginner and want to start with something not too hard to make.

I added a piece of elastic to keep my sketchbook secure but, honestly, it's not necessary.

Enjoy Life Tag

Hi everyone!

I had some fun making this "Enjoy Life" mixed media Tag using Nathalie Kalbach's products.

I started to spread some distress inks on my tag then I applied a coat of Izink diamond glitter paint through the "Space Age Modern" stencil.
I embossed the "Valley Road" stamp with embossing powder and colored it with watercolor paints and pencils.
The sentiment "Enjoy Life" is from Florileges Design (French Brand).
I used also some Dina Wakley and Rubbermoon washi tapes and few buttons.

Hi everyone!

Today, I'm showing you a Art Tag I made with some Nathalie Kalbach's products.

I had a lot of fun making this tag.

Lately, I saw few pictures with some hot air balloons and I thought it would be fun to make a Art Journal page with some. I also like the quote "The sky is the limit" and this quote always makes me think of something flying in the air.

I was doing some experiments on this tag and I liked the way how my background turned out so I decided to use it. Below are few pictures of the different steps to make the background.

Step 1:

I started to spread distress ink and water on my glass mat and applied it to my tag.

Step 2:

I stamped the background with Nathalie Kalbach's foam and rubber stamps and a text stamp from Florileges Design (French brand).

Step 3:

I added more stamping with some white embossing powder.

Step 5:

I applied some gesso with a sponge on top of a stencil.

Step 4:

I made my hot air ballons. For that, I stamped the FAN-tastic stamps with Versafine Ink that I embossed with clear embossing powder. I used the Versa Mark pen to draw the contour of the air balloon that I embossed with a blue powder similar at the versafine blue ink. (I apologize I didn't take any pictures how I built my air balloon from the stamp). Then, I colored them with watercolors paint.

Step 5:

I glued down my hot air balloons. The big one is mounted on craft foam.

Step 6:

I added some color depth at different places with Neo Colors II crayons around the white embossing, Stabilo pencils around the air ballons and I used black distress Ink all around the edges of my tag to finish it.

And voila!

Birthday Card - Feb25

Hi everyone!

Finally I had some time this month for making a birthday card.

It's pretty simple how I made this card.

Step 1:

I used my Misti platform to stamp the flowers on the background and the rectangular piece on top with "Milky Way Magenta" Moonlight Duo Tint & Hue Ink. Then I removed the centered piece and stamped again.

Step 2:

I applied some "Lunar Lilac" Moonlight Duo Tint & Hue Ink with a makeup sponge on top of my stencil all around the edges of the card and went over the centered piece. I just left some space white for the sentiment.

Step 3:

I embossed with white powder my leaves. I did the same technique than the flowers.

The bird is embossed on vellum paper.

Step 4:

I stamped my sentiment.

Step 5:

I mounted the rectangular centered piece with some craft foam.

And Voila!!!

My Artwork printed on Fabric

Hi everyone!

In November 2019, I followed a "Artist Trading Stamps" (ATS) challenge by Carabelle Studio on Instagram. I enjoyed it so much that I made several backgrounds with a ATS collage looking like this!.

To make this background, I used the Postage Stamp from 100 Proof Press and several stamps from Rubbermoon.

Lately, I had this idea to make it print on fabric with the intention to make myself a pencil case.
And voila!!! Isn't it cool....

I'm really happy how it turned out... I ordered my cotton fabric on Spoonflower.
