Fabulous is a Full Time Job

Bear with me I'm tech challenged

2017-12-12T15:35:00.000-08:00

I'm so pathetic when it comes to technology. Yes I just figured out I could take a pic with my laptop.....so now that I know how to do pics and video on here......time to start doing some reviews!!!!

Thursday Tip of the week!!!

2017-12-07T14:48:00.000-08:00

Hello and happy Thursday Lovelies!!!! Well I'm still doing my Crest Whitestrip review. Actually wearing one as I type this......Anyway, thought I would pop in and share my tip of the week with you. I was talking with a lady at the nail salon today and she commented on my skin (thank you random person) and said how her hands looked old.....so the esti in me came out.

WHATEVER YOU DO TO YOUR FACE, DO TO YOUR HANDS

Hands will give away your age every time...Nice try on trying to "bring gloves back" Madonna. Epic Fail.

So....wear your sunscreen. Put it on your hands and forearms. Especially the left side. That's your driving side and it gets more sun.

I hope you're all having a lovely week and I'll be checking in soon.

Smooches💋💋

It's been wayyyy too long

2017-12-01T11:38:00.002-08:00

It's been way too long my friends. I thought since practically everything in my entire life has changed, it's time to start blogging again..

Since you've seen me last I've become a licensed esthetician and certified laser technician. I've worked in a couple of medicals spas and also opened my own business, Unfortunately, due to some health issues, I'm not able to do the hands on work, However my passion for healthy radiant skin along with all things girly have not gone away.

So with that said, I hope to cover a variety of topics and please ask anything. I certainly don't claim to know everything but I'm depending you lovelies to keep me on top of my game! Until we meet again.....Stay fierce and fabulous

Vacation Dresses

2012-03-30T10:55:00.000-07:00

Ok people t-1 1/2 days until we get out of San Antonio for a few days. Not really going for the weather since it's already hot here.....But it will be nice to see the ocean and hang around with friends for a few days.

With that being said you know I fret about what to wear in the evenings. so here are the dresses I will be rocking next week:

Loft

Old Navy circa 2009 - never worn

INC - circa 2009 worn once

Old Navy - just bought

Elan Convertable dress - supposedly can be worn 12 different ways....- Nordstrom

So with that I think I should be ok especially since one dress can be worn so many ways if I need it too......

4 bathing suits - 2 maxi cover ups and 2 caftans
and I should be ready to hit the beach and the pool! God being fabulous IS a full time job. LOL

So I decided to do my own gels in the Lincoln Park after Dark. To quote Steel Magnolias

"It's my signature color"

Getting ready for vacation....Need your opinion

2012-03-28T09:31:00.001-07:00

So I pretty much have my outfits picked out.....Going to get spray tanned today. Lord knows I don't want to subject the people of Jamaica to my paleness.....

So here is my dilemma.....I'm in a red phase but I usually wear super dark polish. Almost everything I'm taking is black or has black in it. One dress is black and coral so I'm thinking the red will clash.....

Question of the day ? which polish? I'm an OPI girl so these are my two top favs. Which should I wear? Big Apple Red or my usual Lincoln Park After Dark?

Neither of these are my pics, giving credit to the random person who posted them on google

Red , red and more RED

2012-03-27T11:37:00.000-07:00

Lately I've become obsessed with all fashion related things red. Clothes, lips, nails. I have no idea why. Maybe because spring has sprung, or I'm ready for vacation. I don't know what it is but I have been crazy for red lately.....

Dying to wear this on vacation.....and today's look

Nail polish is OPI Big Apple Red
Lipstick - Revlon Certainly Red
Tshirt - Tory Burch

And yes I rocked the red lipstick in my ballet class today. Watch out black swan!

Oh Target, how I love and hate you at the same time....

2012-03-22T12:35:00.000-07:00

Does anyone go to Target and only come out with what they went in for? Anyone?

Well we know I don't. I went in for cat food and litter, and came home with all of this:

Loreal Colour Riche - British Red

This but obviously an M

This Linea Pelle clutch to match 2 outfits for vacation

I'm late on the white watch trend so I bought a cheap one

Wow got more than I thought. Damn you target!

Getting there...and closet shopping for vacation

2012-03-20T13:35:00.000-07:00

So I did a little closet shopping today. What a great feeling to put on clothes that I haven't been able to wear for a looooonnnnnnnnnnggggggggg time.

Well, I broke out my favorite dress.....I bought it 10 years ago to wear to Bermuda on vacation with my mom and stepdad. It was the last vacation we went on before she got sick. So this dress has a very special place in my heart.....Bottom pic is from Bermuda 2002. The top two are me trying to stuff myself in the same dress to wear in Jamaica. Not sure if I'll be able to pull it off but I may just give it a WTF and wear it anyway......

So the verdict is, down 35 pounds, feeling great and hitting the gym 3-4 days a week. It hasn't been easy but it's been worth it. I'd like to lose another 35-40 but I'm definitely enjoying getting more energy and seeing my body shrink.

Oh well, whatever, nevermind ...and todays OOTD

2012-03-09T13:43:00.000-08:00

Dear Lord what is going on. I hit up the "senior" class at the gym today. All the songs were from the 80's! So I guess it's official, I'm old.

I'l reference Kurt Cobain in my favorite quote from the 90's..."oh well, whatever, nevermind"

But I was the youngest person in the class so that was a +.....Actually had fun and it was perfect since I still can't do a ton of stuff yet, so I'm going to hit up Zumba on Monday. That should be interesting.

And my hair, have I turned into a Texan because I certainly have Texas hair today. Guess that's what hot rollers and a teasing comb will do.

So here is todays outfit and big hair of the day

Jeans - Paige

Blouse & Cardi - BR

Starting to look and feel like my old self again....

2012-03-06T11:04:00.000-08:00

Nothing like a great visit to the salon to make a girl feel better about herself. I have to give a shout out to Tiffani at Pure Posh Salon in San Antonio. (Even though I still don't look like Jennifer Aniston, yes she's a hairdresser not a magician)

Love my new color and hair trim. I try to go cheap and do box color and regret it every time I do....I need to finally realize I can do my own nails but not my own hair......

So here's the new cut and today's OOTD
well part of it

DIY Gel Manicure - Product Review

2012-03-02T11:06:00.002-08:00

Ok, anyone who knows me knows I am extremely anal about my nails. This must come as no shock to anyone who knows me since I used to be a nail tech in a former life.

Well I had to take my nails off before my surgery and didn't feel like getting acrylics put back on so I thought I would hit up Sallys Beauty Supply and buy my own gel set .

I'm actually pleasently surprised. I picked the darkest color I could find by Gelish called Night Reflection. This is the closest I could find to my OPI fave Lincoln Park After Dark.

So I got the base coat, color, top coat and small UV lamp. Basically all I did was put on the base coat and cure it under the lamp for 2 minutes, then each coat of color, which I think I cured too long but hey I'm a first timer. Then the top coat, even after curing for 10 min it felt sticky. So I googled what to do and it said to put acetone on a paper towel and swipe it over the nail to get the stickiness off. And just like that, they were dry and non sticky.

So here is the pic of them freshly done. We'll see how long they last.......I figure if I use this 3 times, I've made my money back from what I would spend at the salon., so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this stays on at least 10 days even though it promises 14.

I will keep you all posted. Happy Friday everyone!!!

Mrs. Roper called and wants her caftan back!

2012-03-01T07:11:00.000-08:00

I'll admit it. I love the caftan. All I need is a big plastic necklace and you can call me Mrs. Roper. LOL!

So I've been looking for a caftan to wear to the pool/beach in Jamaica next month and seriously, over 300 bucks. I don't think so.

So I found a site and snatched up the caftan in the pic below. We'll see how it looks in person but it was only 40 bucks so what the hell. And yes I will wear it around the house too. I wanted something a little different, I'm over the tube top maxi dresses and wanted something stylish with a little more coverage to keep the dreaded batwing arms from flapping all over the place. You know what I'm talking about.

And those look wierd with a bathing suit underneath. To quote Jeff Foxworthy " If you wear a dress that's strapless, and a bra that isn't, you might be a redneck."

Manicure of the week,,,Essie Bordeaux, OOTD and Weight Loss update

2012-02-29T09:16:00.000-08:00

Ok, not a fan......I like that the color has stayed on for over a week with only minor chips but I don't think the color is consistent. Parts of my nail look darker than others.

I'm a die hard OPI girl and haven't really had this problem. I didn't realize how bad they looked until I took the picture. I've been pretty lazy since having surgery and haven't really felt like messing with my nails too much

But I'm finally starting to get some energy. I played "closet" today and I have to say it was awesome to look good in some clothing that hasn't fit for awhile.

Today is my first appt with the surgeon so we'll see how I'm doing but according to my scale from my highest weight I've lost about 28 lbs.....Crazy!

So for the ootd it's actually from Saturday bcz today I look like hell and I'm wearing yoga pants and a tank. Hey they're thin and may take off .5lbs when I weigh in. LOL

Todays product rave and OOTD

2012-02-24T10:12:00.000-08:00

Well, we got the house! I'm so excited......So I have to go to the bank then meet with the lender so I figured I'd roll my butt out of bed and try to look halfway decent.

As for the product rave, thank God for Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer. I don't know about you but I certainly have the dark circles and this stuff is a lifesaver for me. I also add some of the highlighter in the same brand and I actually look somewhat rested. I've tried everything from YSL to Benefit Erase Paste. They both work well but the Maybelline only cost $7.....ding ding ding we have a winner!

Oil Cleansing Method

2012-02-22T09:50:00.000-08:00

Ok, I've been seeing this oil cleansing method everywhere lately. Now I'm definitely not one of those crunchy granola chicks, but I thought I would give it a try since it was cheap. I might not be crunchy but I do like a bargain!

So I found castor oil at the drugstore for about 2 bucks and then hit up the crunchy aisle at my local grocery store and found a small bottle of grapeseed oil for about 3 bucks.

After reading some other blogs I did about a dime size amount of each, mixed them in my hand then massaged into my face.

I have to say I was impressed. The makeup just came right off without using cleansing wipes or eye makeup remover. I massaged it for about 2 minutes then used a hot washcloth to wipe off the oil.

My skin felt like a babys ass. It felt clean and moisturized, so goodbye expensive facial cleansers and hello crunchy!

One week post surgery and OOTD - Jason Wu for Target

2012-02-21T13:45:00.000-08:00

Hello everyone, it's been a week......Had surgery last Monday and seriously, it was WAY harder than I thought it would be. Outpatient my ass.....I ended up spending the night in the hospital, my blood sugar spiked, my white blood cell count was high so I needed antibiotics and then 6 hours dry heaving. Fun fun.....

I'm finally starting to feel human again. On the bright side since starting the pre-op diet I've lost 24 pounds so I can't really complain about that.

So today I finally felt good enough to go get a pedicure and run some errands so I broke out a pair of jeans that haven't fit in awhile and a new Jason Wu t-shirt. Also I want to share my lovely bruises....

OOTD --Lunch and dr appt....Side pony?

2012-02-10T09:13:00.000-08:00

Yes I need to clean my room!

Not sure about the side pony. Thought I'd give it a try

What to wear to surgery on Monday?

2012-02-10T06:48:00.000-08:00

I know, very weird. Like it matters. But I'm thinking a maxi dress or something loose and comfortable. I'm assuming my stomach might be swollen and I won't want anything with a waist.

Yes I am completely freaking out already. I just want this to be over with. I already can't sleep and my anxiety is running at about a 7 right now but I sure it will be more as Monday gets here.

I'm thinking something like this would be ok:

I have this from Target in Navy and Brown and it's super comfy. Plus I'm going to packa bag just in case I would have to stay overnight. Yes I'm a paranoid freak

6 days and counting!!!

2012-02-07T08:21:00.000-08:00

6 days left until surgery......Each day I get a little more nervous, excited but nervous. I've lost about 8lbs so far which is good but these protein shakes I'm living on are not the tastiest things in the world.

In other news, I won the superbowl pool from the temp job I got canned from Friday so that's fun. LOL I'm relieved actually, the job wasn't a good fit and I hated going there everyday. So as of now, I'm on sabbatical so I can heal from my surgery properly, and find us a new house.

So today I leave you with a pic of my lovely protein shake I get to drink 2x's a day. It looks like a chocolate milkshake. Trust me, it doesn't taste like one.....

Jason Wu for Target Review

2012-02-05T09:36:00.000-08:00

Even though I have the flu, I sucked it up and hit up Target to check out the much hyped Jason Wu collection. My apologies to everyone at the Target at Stone Oak in San Antonio. But a girl has to do what a girl has to do.

So here goes. LOVED IT! The fabric, the dresses, cute t-shirts all of it. I ended up getting 3 tops and 2 dresses. And I did buy them in a smaller size so I can wear them after the lap band surgery and lose a few lbs.....

Here is what I got.....When I'm able to wear them I will definitely post pics of me in them.

So far so good.....

2012-02-02T07:15:00.000-08:00

Nothing much exciting going on.....Wearing one of my favorite outfits today. I'll like it even better when I lose a few pounds and this skirt isn't cutting me in half! Today is a double spanx day!!!
