Percutian ke Krabi, Thailand.

2016-08-31T13:48:00.002+08:00

Nak tau macam mana? jom baca blog saya sampai habis.
Tau tak krabi tu kat mana? Alah negara jiran kita lah Jemah oii! Thailand.. sawadee krup!

Sebenarnya trip ni saya pergi tahun lepas Ogos 2015. Baru terfikir nak share lah pengalaman saya.

Soal makanan halal, tak payah risau, memang banyak kat krabi ni.

Mungkin kah saya seorang saja? Atau dia org anggap saya orang Thai sebab tu tak dihiraukan.. hahaha..gitew! Hampa I uols.
Bilik bersih, ada TV tapi bukan flat screen, aircond bagus dan juga balcony dengan view bukit jugak sama seperti Ascot Krabi Hotel. Ye lah kan ..sebaris je dgn Ascot tapi jauh sikit lah.
Tapi hotel ni jauh jugak boleh tahan kalau nak ke beach Ao Nang tu.. lenguh kaki tau. Nak balik tak larat jalan kaki kena scammed pulak dengan orang Tuk-Tuk tu. 100 Thai Bath lagi tu..melampau.

lobby 3 Bees Guesthouse...

kalau jalan-jalan kat Ao Nang ade je tengok ni...

Aonang Beach, Krabi

ni, saya nak cakap sikit, kalau kat Krabi ni, BUKAN kat Krabi je, seluruh Thailand yer, elakkan pergi makan kat fast food restoran seperti Mc donalds, burger king ke...sebab Mcdonalds korang mesti dah tahu tak halal kan. satu lagi, makanan kat fast foods chain ni jauh lebih mahal berbanding kat Malaysia.

Koh samui

2016-08-24T11:59:00.000+08:00

Hello guys,
I went to Koh Samui Thailand last week, 15th August 2016.
It was a short trip.
My friend and I had planned this trip 4 months ago.

How to go there:

It is so expensive to take direct flight to Koh Samui, maybe because of Koh Samui Airport is privately owned by Bangkok Airways. It can cost you more than RM1000!

So, We decided to take AirAsia flight from Kuala Lumpur to Surat Thani, Thailand. My flight ticket was less than RM300.

Our flight departed from Kuala Lumpur at 1 p.m and touched down at Surat Thani Airport at 1:30 p.m local time (Thailand). Time difference between Malaysia and Thailand is 1 hour.

It was a long queue at the immigration as only 2 counters were opened. We need to catch a bus to the ferry terminal!

After immigration and custom clearance, We straight away go to Phantip Travel Agent counter and bought tickets for our bus, ferry, and mini van to the hotel.
It was 1100 Thai Bath includes return tickets. I think this price is reasonable. I would recommend this travel agent and no need to worry about transportation anymore. The price includes bus to Seatran ferry terminal, ferry to Nathor Pier, Koh Samui, and mini van to your choice of hotel in Koh Samui.

Take note! it was a long journey and tiring. Bus from airport to Seatran ferry terminal, journey time approximately 1.5 hour, ferry also 1.5 hour and lastly mini van to our hotel in Cheweng area, was almost an hour.

If you don't have any plan on what to do in Koh Samui, don't worry! Staff from Phantip will be available on the bus to promote tour package.

So guys, I would highly recommend anyone to buy tour package from them. It is much more cheaper then you buy somewhere in Koh Samui.

For example, if you want to take day tour package to Koh Nan yuan and Koh Tao island snorkeling trip, better buy from them. That time they offer us cheap price compare to normal price of 1800-2000 Thai Bath. It was 1300 Thai Bath only, so take it! Don't expect you can get cheaper than this outside. My friend tried to ask travel agent in Koh Samui, the price for the tour are mostly around 2000 Thai Bath .

These are Phantip tour package.

OK...back to my story. We reached at the hotel quite late though. It was really a long journey.

Where I stay in Koh Samui?

We choose to stay at Cheeky Monkey Samui hostel. I stayed there for 2 nights, double room with balcony and the price was quite reasonable at total of 1800 Thai Bath.

I love this hostel. Even though the space is quite small but I felt so comfortable. Don't forget to enjoy your happy hour drink at their rooftop bar and enjoy their food. If you feel hot in a sunny day, jump to the pool!.. haha

my comfy bed.....

Cheweng is the busiest place in Koh Samui. If you don't like busy street, maybe you can choose to stay in other area in Lamai. It is not as busy as Cheweng.

Cheweng street has so many things to offer. There are plenty of western restaurants, street foods vendor, shopping places, mini marts, travel agents, money changers and many more. You can find almost everything in Cheweng area.

Your vacation in Koh samui is not complete without going to the beach. Cheweng beach is just a 5-minute walk from my hostel.

OK... Now, once again I would like to remind those who take route go to Koh Samui via Surat Thani.

Make sure to check out early. As early as 6 a.m, even though in your mini van ticket stated that you need to wait at the hotel lobby at 6:30.

For your own safety, wait before 6:30 a.m. I was at the lobby at 6:10 a.m and the van was already there waiting for me. The van driver will go to other hotel to pick up other passengers, so be punctual.

Remember. If you missed the mini van, that's mean you will miss your flight for sure, and there is only one flight for a day fly from Surat Thani to Kuala Lumpur. If you missed the flight today, you have to wait another flight the day after tomorrow.

I was a bit shocked and worried on my way back. The mini van stopped at bus terminal and not directly go to ferry terminal.

You have to wait for a bus that go to the ferry terminal. You have to keep asking and confirm with bus driver which bus.

After 1.5 hour journey with ferry, you have to walk immediately go to the bus station and find a bus that go to the airport. Same here too, you need to ask if you don't know because not all bus go to the airport. Some bus here are going to Phuket, Krabi and kao Kak.

And yes, another 1.5 hour journey to reach Surat Thani.

You will reach at the airport approximately 11:30 a.m, still have time for your coffee and smoking. Flight time is at 1p.m.

Hehehe

Well, as I still have 'unfinished business' in Koh Samui due to very short trip, I will be back to Koh Samui and explore more places there.

Adios

My first experience traveling solo

2016-08-09T23:04:00.000+08:00

Hello guys,
I am going to share my very first experience traveling solo. Yes, alone! I have to write it as my own record of my life in case I forget everything about it. I went to Bali, Indonesia. Well, I am quite shy to share this story and let people know about it because it reveal how stupid I was! So, don't be like me OK? You guys can do better than me since you are the new generation with all the social media and give you tons of information online.

It was a very long time ago, I guess in early year of 2008? So, that's mean it was 8 years ago! Wow..

I know it was stupid and hilarious adventure I ever had. I had ZERO knowledge on traveling solo. No preparation and no clue about everything.
Usually,I travel with my friends and I don't care or worry about hotel and flight booking. All the booking and itenary were planned by them.

I booked my flight ticket with travel agent somewhere in Singapore.
You know, during that time, it was a pre-smartphone era. It's not like today, you can find unlimited information on flight, hotel and package just using smartphone everywhere and anytime you want.
I used laptop but it was quite inconvenient to use.
See, how lucky today's generation growing up with smartphone. I can't help it, but I envy them. They have easy access to the internet 24/7.

I booked my hotel room very last minute at the airport. Thanks to Changi Airport Singapore provides free use of PC and Internet. Crazy right? I cannot imagine myself for taking that risk. What happened if the airport has no computer and access to the Internet? Gosh..
I remembered that I booked my hotel room via AsiaRoom website.

Direct flight from Singapore to Denpasar(Bali) with Jetsar airline took roughly 2 hours and 45 minutes I guess? Correct me if I'm wrong! Arrived quite late in the afternoon.

Jetstar Singapore (Budget airline)

There was something bad and unexpected incident happened to me at the immigration, which I do not want to share here.

After immigration and custom clearance done, I took taxi to my hotel which I booked earlier at the taxi counter.

I stayed at All Season Hotel Legian. I vividly remember that the hotel was so beautiful and colorful. Suitable for fabulous people and the color of the hotel same as rainbow flag. Hahaha

Legian Beach located just a five-minute walk from the hotel.

My first day of traveling solo, I don't want to go shopping and explore what's around me. Unlike typical traveler, they will explore nice places around them and take pictures as many as they can, but me? First day in Bali, I went to the beach less than 10 minutes and walked back to the hotel. Hahaha that was so weird of me. I was so scared of everything, over thinking, and felt uncomfortable when I see so many people around me. My thought be like ' what if I get robbed and killed in foreign land and my parents don't know about it? At this point I was so regret to go traveling alone despite being warned by my mom not to travel alone in Indonesia because of the safety issue.

Second day in Bali, I tried to be brave and go to the beach again. I have too! I was so happy though for being able to travel alone. OK...time for the review!

People always say Bali Bali Bali has nice beach? Hmmm

I was at Legian Beach, quite busy Beach and not a pleasant experience for me. Locals trying so hard to sell their stuff such as watches, foods, accessories and many more. Some will offer services like massage and temporary tattoos. I got my temporary tattoo done by one of them who actually refused to go until I agree to get the tattoo. How annoying was that?

Well guys, I spent most of the time in the hotel room and bar. I didn't even go to the hotel swimming pool because I was too shy to join other hotel's guests... Oh my God. What was wrong with me at that time? I should take every opportunity I had!

I just want to go home as soon as possible. Usually, when travel with friends, I always wanted to stay back and don't even want to go home.

So, how about you guys? I hope none of you have same experience as mine.

Traveling solo need someone to be brave, not a shy person like me, tough and alert.

Get ready with some knowledge or information on a place you want to go before going.

That's all for now..and thank you for reading my stupidity experience though..

5 reasons why front desk officer dislike you that you might not know.

2016-06-17T21:57:00.000+08:00

Hello guys, I would like to apologize in advance if any of my readers out there feel offended or unhappy when reading this. I am talking about hostel and budget hotel where I worked before. (Part-time job)

This post merely share my experiences working in the hotel as a Front Desk Officer or should I call it my confession as a Front Desk Officer? You judge!

One of the reason why I write this post is to create awareness to the people out there some knowledge on basic rules at the budget hotel especially in Malaysia.

Well, I am not saying, I hate my job but i rather take this a challenge. We have to deal with different types of people from around the world, from bad people to awesome people. Sounds so exaggerating? HAHA

OK, just straight to the points. Here are 5 reasons why front desk officer dislike you that you might not know.

1) No cash but refuse to use card.

Many hotels in Malaysia require deposit upon check-in but some hotel will let you check-in without deposit. Whatever it is, all depends on hotel's policy and we accept Ringgit Malaysia (RM) ONLY.

It's not a problem if you don't have any cash /local currency, you may use your credit card or debit card.

It's so annoying when you have a guest who doesn't have any cash and refused to use credit card upon check-in at the hotel. I had some guest who doesn't have any cash and refused to pay by credit card but request to check-in without payment until they able to change money at money changer. SERIOUSLY???? Duh!!! Most of the cases, I just let them check-in without paying because they promised to pay as soon as possible, and their reason will be like 'oh i just want to put my stuff in the room first, I will go out and change some cash later, some will say, 'well, money changer are not open', and many more reasons! but after that, they just stay in the room and they will ignore you when you try to call them. This is very risky for us as a front desk officer because we did not follow the hotel's policy!

So next time, when you check-in at the hotel we don't want to hear your bulls**t. Go and change your money first!

2) Early check-in and late check-out

Damn, I hate those guest who wants to check-in early for free of charge but they ignore their check-out time.
Most hotels in Malaysia, check-in time is 2pm and check-out time is 12 noon. Please ask if you don't know or not sure about if. Here are some examples :
If you take flight at night and reached at the hotel around 5 a.m or 6 a.m, hotel will charge you half-day or 50% from your room rate if you want to check-in early. If you are lucky enough, during low season or low occupancy, you might get free of charge early check-in. So, make sure you ask politely for that.

Please check-out before 12 noon. Front desk officer will call room to room as a reminder to check-out at 12 noon and ask whether you want to extend your stay or check-out. Take note, front desk officer will keep calling until you answer the call and give confirmation. They hate it when some guest are not answering their phone call and totally ignore it.
Don't let them call security and kick you out of the room or charge you for late check-out. You have to understand that there are another guest might have reserved your room and they need time to clean-up the room before arrival of new guest.

3) Yell at Front Desk Officer.

Some guest are so arrogant. Don't think you pay for your room, you can do whatever you want and act like a king! Personally, I had this experience. The guest yelled at me in front of other guest. They want full refund and cancel the booking because they were not satisfied with the room conditions. I was so embarrassed and felt humiliating by the guest. Dealing with these kind of guest, front desk officer just need to keep calm and tolerate.
To the guest, whoever you are, there is no point of you yelling at front desk officer when something can be solved easily. If the problem doesn't work for you, try to talk with the manager. Front desk officer has no authorization on decision pertaining to refund or cancellation.

There is no problem that cannot be solved
~Francois Viete~

4) Refuse to give I.D

Especially local people, they always refuse to give their I.D during check-in. Guest need to provide their I.D during check-in for the registration and record purposes. So why did they refused?
Hmmmm...I'm not going to explain more details on this. Only those who works in hospitality industry knows why and what's happening behind the closed door.
Whatever it is, we don't really care. That's not our business.
We only do our part to follow every procedure by the hotel.

5) Fussy guest
Make a guess! Do you know guest from which country has the most complaints in the hotel? Well, I'm not going to tell you unless you ask me! No one ask me though.
Anyone working in the hotel should know this very well. Haha
First of all, as a hotel guest, if you stay at budget hotel, please don't expect too much! What do you expect? You get what pay for.
Some request are just nonsense. Sometimes, some of the thing which is not available at the hotel. Here are some example 'can I borrow a phone charger? Why don't you provide a toothbrush/ toothpaste? There is no shaver in the room? Do you have condom?~~~ just go and buy or bring your own things.
And...for the complaints King/ queen will say:
'your curtain so dirty'
'The WiFi is so slow'
Hey, why there is no fridge in the room?
Your towel is not clean enough!
My room is so small! Your toilet is very small!
Your TV is not a new model.
Aircond is not cold enough.

Those are common complaints we received and get used to these complaints. We try our best to improve and provide good service even though we work in budget hotel.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Nevertheless , I love my job and not all guest are bad. Some are super nice, awesone and fun to deal with.

Below are my pictures as a Front Desk Officer at budget hotel.

If you recognize me after reading my blog, I'll give you a discount if you check-in at the hotel where I work! Just say ' fabulous ricolicious' when you check-in at the hotel. I will not reveal the hotel name..but I will give you a hint...located at city center of Kuala Lumpur Malaysia.

Good luck and bye for now!

Reasons for being lazy to update my blog

2014-02-25T04:11:00.000+08:00

Hello my fabulous readers....

let me tell you all, why am I so lazy and unmotivated to update this blog...

1. I don't have a good camera to take picture. This is one of the main reason. I believe as a blogger, you need to have a good camera to make a great picture and readers are more interested to read your blog. If i had a smart phone with good camera, that would be perfect for me.Unfortunately, i have lost my Samsung note 2 and Samsung S3. So disappointed with myself for being careless.

2. I've been busy with work. I think for almost 2 years since I moved to KL, Malaysia.
Honestly, i don't really get used to work in Malaysia after working so many years in Singapore. Anyway I have to adapt myself to 'Malaysian style'.

3. Seriously, I don't know what topic I should write on my blog. I started blogging about travel, but since I moved to KL, I don't even have a chance to travel. Money is always an issue here..always broke!!!

4. I became FAT. How I became fat? I have no idea. I only realized I've gained weight when i did my bungee jumping few years back. My friends started to comment on my pictures that I've gained weight. This is one of the reason why I have lost interest on taking picture.

5.Low traffic volume. Yes, that's really tough to get readers to read your blog. I've been blogging since 2010 and I've never had a high traffic volume...so sad.

First time when i started my blog, I just want to be famous just like any other blogger. **dreaming mode**
As I grow older, I realized it was just a dream. Now, I just want to keep writing and make it as a habit. At the same time I really want to improve my writing skill.

If you read my previous post, my writing skill is not up to standard and I use lot of 'singlish'. According to Wikipedia , Singlish is colloquial Singaporean English is an English-based creole language spoken in Singapore.

Last but not least, I will blog in Malay Language as well because I can speak and talk in Malay language fluently. Trust me....It is a beautiful language. I hope I can be a novel writer. Make sure you buy my book!!! will you?

That's all for now.....

xoxo

Queenstown and AJ Hackett Bungy Jump

2011-06-19T23:02:00.003+08:00

hello......

OMG...I really want to complete my blog about New Zealand as soon as possible. So, I can blog about other thing.

After Te Anau, Milford Sound and Mirror Lake, our next destination was Queenstown. The place we've been waiting for so long.

We checked out from Holiday Park Backpacker Hostel before 10.00 AM.

Natsumi joined the glowing worm cave tour without informing 3 of us. We've been waiting and searching for her for hours. She didn't even bring her cellphone, that's why we couldn't reach her.

While waiting for her, we walked around town area and had our breakfast at the nearest cafe.
When she appeared in front of our car, she didn't even say sorry.

Almost 12 Noon, we continued our our journey to QUEENSTOWN...

I'm not sure how long we drive from Te Anau to Queenstown but I think it was quite far though! About 3 or 4 hours drive and finally, we reached at Queenstown.

Gosh! why is it so hard to find a place to stay? We went to I-site to find a place to stay.

According to the I-site staff, there was the only ONE place available that time....BASE BACKPACKER, but we kind of hate it because Base Hostel always noisy and full of youngsters. We wanted more privacy and a room with 4 beds, just for 4 of us.

The I site staff told us to choose whether we want NZD35 OR NZD350?...she was like so angry because we took so long to decide.....Yoko was a victim!, We walked out from I site and decided to look for other place by our own.

Unfortunately, we couldn't find one and we had no choice but to stay at BASE BACKPACKER QUEENSTOWN. We need to share with another 4 people in the room and paid NZD35 per night.

The next day, we check-out from Base and went to Kuwarau for Bungy Jump....wait!!! before that, I need to tell you guys something . We were given a warning by a police because we parked our car at the wrong place. LOL illegal parking! Luckily, we never get fined.

Yaaaaaa.....the moment I've been waiting for so long.....I need to do something like this in my life....thanks to my friend Ai for giving me a support and courage to do bungy jump.

What if I die during bungy jump? all this actually, came across my mind.

There were many people jump on that day....and you cannot just jump like that..there are some procedure you need to follow.

First of all, you have to register and check your weight....well, no use to think about it because' I already paid for it on the day before......I kept reminding myself ' JUST DO IT'

OMG....only God knows how I felt that time. Ai Nakamura and I decided to jump together. Honestly, I wasn't ready to jump. I felt so cold and freezing. I forced myself to jump when the bungee operator shouted at me..JUMP!!!!!!

I was screaming like crazy.WOW......I never thought that I would do this extreme activity and proud of myself though......it was so FUN.
After we got our picture and video, we straight away drive to Dunedin.
We reached at Dunedin around 3.00 PM.....and stayed at Backpacker hostel, somewhere near town area.....

At night, Ai Nakamura and I went to town for New Year countdown party....only 2 of us and shinji joined us after midnight.

here are some photos taken at queenstown and AJ Hackett Bungy Jump moment.....

this is the place where we stayed for a night..BASE BACKPACKER....NZD35 per night

hmmm..i wasn't ready to dance coz i wasn't drunk enough..huhu..

love that pose Ai.....

awww..my sexy bitch.....

look at her...drunk!!!!!!!

2nd registration....

i was 62kg......omfg....shocked!!!!! from 45kg to 62kg!!!!!

looking at the camera.....i can't even smile...hehehe

ready?...jump!!!!!!!!!!!!!

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa........f#@&

look at me.....hahahaha

my personal assistant......pretty right???hahaha

camwhoring in the car.....huhu

gosh.....wtf....natsumi very clever ...she only took the pictures with ugly side of me!!!!!!!awwwwwww

I was so scared when the light suddenly turned off when I was in the bathroom.

The place was so quiet and not many people stay there at that time! Well...without wasting more time there, put our luggage in our room and we went to Milford sound even though it was quite late~ around 3PM ..

Milford sound was amazing, with beautiful landscape. On the way back, we went to Mirror Lake.

Hello guys

Woke up early morning again to pack our stuff and check-out from Lake front lodge backpackers.

I can't bear to leave Lake Tekapo...*sob*.... the best place in New Zealand.

Yeah, we must go to our next destination and Shinji need to go somewhere.

Shinji decided to go Dunedin because he loves surfing. I knew that Dunedin is the place for surfers.
On the way to Dunedin, we stopped by at OAMARU for a while because we wanted to see yellow penguins.
We also went to the beach and saw a large stone in round shape...(Moeraki boulder New Zealand).
I've never seen a unique stone like this before....amazing!!!

photos............

stunning and fabulous view.....

my breakfast of the day.....egg sandwich, latte and white wine.......

Not even half an hour, we left Oamaru because we need to send Shinji to Dunedin and pick up someone there.

Another Japanese girl joined our trip.........ermmmmm looks like she is a good girl.

she doesn't smoke and make us feel uncomfortable when we smoke in the car. BUT we just don't care and still smoking in the car...hahaha......sorrry Natsumi....

welcome to the club Natsumi........huhuhu

continue our long journey again....... everyday need to think which place to go first....and which way should we go? sometimes, our plan failed and lost in the middle of nowhere...

should we blame a map for making us confuse? Or we don't know how to read map?

I admit that I am really don't know how to read map....

Again, we stopped somewhere to take a rest before our next destination, INVERCARGILL.

only can see penguin from here!!! my camera cannot zoom a penguin...so far and small...

awwww...so cute.....

this photo taken by Natsumi's camera.....

guess what she drink???

We were thinking whether to drive all the way to Invercargill or just find a place to stay somewhere, unfortunately we couldn't find a place to stay....all fully booked!!!!

So, no choice, just drive all the way to Invercalgill and when we reached there, Yoko and I tried to call and book motel. Most of the places were closed.

Finally, we found a place to stay and thanks to the lady for being nice and kind to us though .She told us that the motel closed after 10:30pm and she let us to stay there. She gave us some info about Steward Island. We wanted to go but the ferry ticket was so expensive and at the same time ,there was an event going on that day. Next time maybe?

I don't know anything about Invercargill because we got no chance to explore more.

Natsumi and Yoko share this room

Ai Nakamura and I share this room....

this is our motel....quiet place...

So, Oamaru and Invercargill done!!!! keep reading my blog and next destination is Te Anau......see ya

Blehneim and Kaikoura (South Island New Zealand)

2011-02-04T22:13:00.003+08:00

hello guys......

how you guys doing? It's 2nd day of Chinese New Year and I'm not working. So, I continue to update my postponed blog again....try to finish it up ok.....

25th December 2009....

I woke up early morning and felt so fresh. We had our coffee before leaving 'The Custom House'( our backpacker hostel)....
We've got lot of things to bring. No more space in our car and Yoko decided to leave her empty luggage at 'The Custom House. Well, just give it to those who need it. Wow! so good of you Yoko.If i were you, I will just throw it away...LoL...look, that's my evil side of me! Selfish. I will not let anyone use my stuff, I'd ratter throw it away.

We proceed to Blehneim I-Site centre to pick up a Japanese guy who wants to join us exploring South Island of NZ.
We were talking and guessing about the guy. Yoko kept asking if he is a good looking guy, while I hope that the guy is friendly, can drink and open-minded......crazy huh....
Finally.....we reached Blenheim and he was waiting for us. He came earlier than us.

Thank God....He is a smoker and drinker...that's mean he can click with me......LOL
So, we don't have to worry about lighting up our cigarette in the car and continue smoking in the car.

He also can drive. So, good news for Ai Nakamura and Yoko. He can take turn to drive if Ai and Yoko feel tired or sleepy.
On our way to the city centre of Kaikoura, We stopped our car somewhere, which I don't know where and there was no signboard. There were so many seals and I took the opportunity to take pictures and take a rest for a while.
Be careful, seals are wild animal....don't go so near.
Shinji take turn to drive our car to city centre of Kaikoura. We reached there and most of the places were closed and quiet.
Four of us stayed at Willowbank Motel. Not bad, good motel with 2 rooms. Shinji and I share a room.
After check-in process completed, we just left our stuff and went to Peninsular Seal Colony and beach near the town area.

As usual.....I took lot of photos......snap snap snap......enjoy the photos.

this is the place...we stop our car somewhere around here to see seal......

omg...yoko...are u one of the seal?? i was so busy taking pic of the seal and u came and ask me to take ur pic...lol.....

sexy pose.....seal also know how to pose ok....

pictures above were taken somewhere in Kaikoura but I don't know the place name.

Woooooo.....wait...I still have something to say. It was my first experience, I had my Christmas day in foreign country without alcohol.
ALL shops, Yes ALL, they don't sell alcohol! They are not allowed to sell alcohol on Christmas Day....
What a sad thing on Christmas Day without alcohol? hahahha

Well.....I love Kaikoara and had a chance to see a real seal and one thing I will never forget, I was chased by seal when I tried to take picture of their baby! LOL ....very aggressive animal.

photos again.....enjoy my photos

nice.....whose house is that??? hmmmm...

Shinji and I stayed in this room.....

fantastic four...let's see who is the winner???

Shinji is busy checking on my wine

Ai and yoko stayed in this room...

2011-01-28T18:35:00.000+08:00

hello guys.

sorry to keep you guys waiting for my blog update.

let me continue.

23rd December ~ our first day trip to south island. We don't want to waste our time in North Island.

We took ferry to South Island from Wellington to Picton by Interislander Ferry.
That was my first time took ferry and I really enjoyed it with my crazy Japanese friends.

here are some photos of me and my Japanese friends..

Finally, we've arrived at Picton and continued our journey to Nelson~.driving non stop....damn tired , poor Ai and Yoko, take turn to drive and I only sit, eat and drink my wine non stop...haha...don't blame me coz i got no licence..huhu

It was so hard to find a place to stay because all the accommodation were fully booked.
We planned to stay at Paradiso BP, but it was fully booked.

So, we went to information centre and booked our accommodation from I-centre...luckily we've got one place available and cheap.
* You don't have to worry if you want to find a place to stay, just go to I- centre and they will help you to find an accommodation and the best thing about New Zealand, they have information centre in every tourist destination. You also can book your bus ticket there.*

We stayed at 'The Custom House' with the room rate of NZD35 per night. Three of us share 1 room with 4 beds. The room was quite small but we love the place, very quiet, comfortable and free use of WiFi and we love it!
We always prefer a place with free WiFi because three of us bring our own laptop.

At 'The Custom House' we met Max, a funny guy from France.

Next day, We still in Nelson, and went to Tahunanui beach, not so far from 'The Custom House'......
well, we planned to go the Centre of New Zealand but unable to find a place....we got lost somewhere! give up and met another Japanese friend, Yumi but she doesn't look like Japanese..LoL

our car's break got some problem and we need to change our car.....after everything done, we went to the library to use Internet. Do you guys know, to use internet in NZ is so expensive....that's why we always go to the library to use free internet.

that night, 3 of us were so tired and decided not to cook and bought our dinner from KFC....so no cooking that night.......
crazy Ai and Yoko, suddenly got an idea to put a make-up on my face.....awwww aarrrrrggg..that was crazy 'coz they force me.......damn it!!!! it was fun also....miss those days...hehe

photos......

Nelson.....

do u guys know the meaning of 'paru paru' in Malay language?......lungs...lol...

we spent 2 nights in Nelson and we definitely love the place.Unfortunately,we have to go to our next destination and pick up someone at Blenheim. A Japanese guy~he wanted to join us. So, we can save a lots on our petrol and accommodation. Sharing is caring, right?

that's all for today.....keep reading my blog.........

love you all.....xoxo

Rotorua and Napier( part 2)

2011-01-13T00:43:00.001+08:00

hello......

welcome back to my blog~ ~ ~just a quick update.

14th December
back to Rotorua because I need to collect my IRD number.( IRD number is a number issued by Inland Revenue for those who wants to work and earn income in New Zealand.

I applied my IRD number in Rotorua and they say it will take 1 week to process the application.
I also used Hot Rock Base's address to apply for my IRD number. So, I need to go back to Rotorua.

I applied for IRD number in case I want to work in New Zealand . I was under working holiday visa, and
what I heard from others, working there is not compulsory if you are under Working holiday visa.....
By the way, I was so lazy to work.
Anyway I stayed at Base again for 1 night only and ask Base's staff whether they receive any later under my name from Inland Revenue......unfortunately,......NO! Really waste my time and money.
so, I booked a bus ticket to Napier again.

Napier part 2

Back to Napier again, I had so much fun in Napier because I met 2 Japanese girls.I was in Napier for 1 week and stayed at Blue water lodge. I paid NZD100 per week. That was pretty cheap.

Nothing much I can do in Napier this time. I spent most of my money on shopping spree. I love shopping in Napier, and yes I really need retail therapy.

I met 2 Japanese girls, Yoko and Ai Nakamura.
Yoko was my room -mate and she invited me to go around Napier because they've got a car and easy to go around Napier.
We went to Botanical Garden and sheep skin factory and I love it. I was so happy because I have new friends and travel together. How nice was that? till now, they are still my friend and keep in touch especially with Ai Nakamura.

At night, we went to the local bar. We drink, dance, take photo and drunk. I was okay but Yoko and Ai were totally drunk that night....LOL can't stop laughing and it was hilarious.

Wellington

2011-01-11T04:13:00.000+08:00

Hello there, I'm back..

Looks like I need to update my postponed blog as soon as possible.

WELLINGTON

I was so excited to go Wellington even though It was a long journey from Napier to Wellington.

I was in Wellington for 6 days. Actually, I just wanted to stay for 2 or 3 night only. But, I extended my stay until 6 days.

I stayed at Nomad Capital Hostel and I like this hostel so much ~.clean and better than other backpackers hostel.....If I'm not wrong, this hostel also known as 5 star accommodation for backpackers. Their staff also friendly and ready to help you if you need some information about Wellington.

Front office staff were so kind to me. She gave me free drink coupon, apparently, she knew I love party and drink. Without wasting my time, I went to the bar called Blend (located at the first floor of the hostel).

For Muslim, to get a Halal foods is easy. Wellington has many Malaysian Restaurant.

The best thing I did in Wellington, I've got a chance to go 'Lord Of The Rings' film location. I booked a half day tour only because that was the cheapest tour for Lord Of The Rings film location.
If I'm not mistaken, I paid NZD99 for a half day tour. we had our tour guide to explain where and what happened during the filming of Lord of The Rings..
Actually, I've never watched this film before, and I am not a fan of the movie. I just want to take pictures and have fun with other visitors. Four of them were from California and a guy from Britain. I had so much fun and .they were so friendly.
we had a muffin and a cup of coffee for lunch.

I like to drink in the bar. So, I checked my NZ guide book. A bar called HAVANA on the list and I really want to go there.
I called a cab to drive me there and the place was so boring!!! OMG....I thought it was a club and play Latin songs. Apparently, it was just a small bar and I only ordered a glass of whisky before I go back to my hostel.
Early in the morning~~
I went to Botanical Garden and Cable Car Museum.
You need to take cable car to go up there.
I just want to take some pictures and nothing special and interesting.......quite boring for me.

Overall I like Wellington........

Cuba Street

burger king!!!!!....Most of the staff here are Asian.

look at their library.....so fabulous... I love it..

museum of New Zealand......free entry...(in Auckland, you have to pay)

Museum Hotel.....

yeah....party time!!!!!!

OMG....I was so fat!!!!

membership card for NOMADS....You can get discount on accommodation if you have this card....

That's all for today and please wait for my Wellington PART 2.....I am so tired today and need to sleep.....

bye fabulous people....xoxo

Napier (north island NZ)

2011-01-05T23:54:00.005+08:00

hello fabulous.......

NAPIER.....I fell in love with Napier.

For your info, Napier is the main city for Hawke's Bay..

Trust me, you will like the place.

I took a bus from Taupo at 12.45, .2 hours from Taupo to Napier.
Damn ! It was so quiet at the bus terminal and closed, no one was there. How to ask for the direction if the information counter closed?
I refer to my lonely planet guide book and look for the information on accommodation around there. So, I called YHA and reserved the room and called cab immediately.

While waiting for a cab, someone came to me and ask me whether I need her help. She told me that she is from Taiwan and waiting for her friend at the bus terminal.
She really want to help me but I already called a cab.
After 3 minutes, a yellow cab arrived and guess what?... not even 3 minutes, I already in front of the YHA.....oh no!!!! how stupid I was. Don't even know how to read a simple map and I failed to be a backpacker.

As usual, I stayed in a single room....OMG... what a nice place I ever seen from my window....windy, good weather and fresh air.
I can see south pacific ocean from my window. AMAZING..

I just put my luggage and bring my camera out of my room. I just can't wait to take some photos and went to the park in front of YHA Napier.
It was so cold with amazing view. Totally relax my mind, body and soul.

Next day, I woke up so late almost 11 am because I felt so comfortable. OMG, I really love this place.
I went out to town area and took some photos of the building around there.
After few hours, I was so thirsty and went to the Irish bar. I ordered a glass of Guinness stout. Damn, I love Guinness Stout..
The bar staff looked at me and asked for my ID. So, I showed them my passport and they say looked so young. LOL...she thought that I was under aged.

My last day in Napier~ ~ ~
I booked my bus ticket to Wellington from I-site Napier. ( Information centre ).
I met a British girl, she also stayed at YHA and we shared about our travel experiences. She started travelling at young age.
I felt very comfortable talk to her until I didn't realize how many stick of cigarettes I have smoked.

let me share some photos with you guys......

Marine Parade in Napier, NZ , not only in Singapore..

That's all for now.....don't forget to read 'Napier part 2'.......in Napier part 2, I met new friends, Japanese girls..
more fun, photos and drunk moment!!!!!!

taupo

2011-01-05T05:40:00.005+08:00

hello fabulous friends.

welcome back to my blog. Today, I'm going to continue with my blog about Taupo, New Zealand.

After my trip in Rotorua, I went to Taupo. The journey from Rotorua tourism centre took about 1 hour.

Taupo is much better than Rotorua, I think so, because I can see there were many choices of cafe, restaurant and shop around here.

Before I go to the hostel, I had my beer, fish and chip in the bar called 'The Shed'.Nice bar and friendly staff as well....thumbs up!!!!

In Taupo I stayed at backpackers accommodation. The place called 'Urban Retreat Taupo, '
Here, I met a Brazilian girl and she was so friendly. She also travelling alone in New Zealand at that time.

Next day in Taupo,I still got nothing to do. Actually my plan in Taupo was to go Wairakei Terrace, Unfortunately, they don't provide shuttle bus from the hostel.
Bungy Jump also quite pricey.
Then, I booked a bus ticket to Napier, my next destination in New Zealand.

Rotorua

2011-01-04T04:36:00.007+08:00

hello fabulous.....let me continue my blog about New Zealand...

After Auckland, I decide to go somewhere because I don't want my trip end in Auckland.
So, I went to Rotorua. Actually, I know nothing about Rotorua but I heard about this place before from other backpackers.

So, I booked my bus ticket to Rotorua and the journey took about 3 hours from Sky City(bus terminal), Auckland.

Rotorua is the best place in New Zealand if you want to feel the unique culture of Maori and experience geothermal areas. Trust me, you will like this place.

Rotorua also one of the best place for those who loves extreme activities.

Back to my experience, I stayed at Kiwi Paka (backpackers accommodation) for one night only.
I don't really like the place AND that's why I only stay there one night.

Next day, I packed my stuff and check out from Kiwi Paka. I stayed at Ibis Hotel.

OMG, I love Ibis Hotel and the room rate was quite cheap and affordable....NZD79 per night!
Hotel staff were so friendly and I felt very welcomed and comfortable. My room was clean and spacious.

01 December 2009
I packed my stuff again and stayed at Base Hot Rock ( Base is one of the most popular accommodation for backpackers and flashpackers)...That was my first time, I stayed in the dorm room and shared with 2 ladies and a guy from Australia.
I felt awkward but I had no choice because all single rooms were fully booked.

Next day I moved to Ibis hotel again....LOL.. second time stay at Ibis Hotel. I have to share room with other backpackers and that's why I moved back to Ibis Hotel...

I was in Rotorua for 3 days but I didn't go anywhere. So, I forced myself to book a trip to 'HELL'S GATE'
and Wai Ora Spa.
I had my mud bath, Geothermal reserve walk, and sulphur spa and that cost me NZD115.00. For me, quite expensive right? be prepared because your body will smell like a rotten egg ...LOL, because of the smell, I had to throw my short.
They also sell mud spa product, T-shirts, key chains, and hat also available for sale......

Here are some photo taken from my Rotorua trip..

Internet in New Zealand can be considered EXPENSIVE

this is the place where I stay KIWI PAKA...

I stayed in this block....looks like school huh?

I love this place...fresh air.

Auckland City( north island NZ)

2010-12-30T01:47:00.006+08:00

Kia Ora....(Maori language). It means 'hi'.......

welcome back to my blog..

As promised, I will write a blog about my trip to New Zealand and share with fabulous people out there.

New Zealand is the best place for those who loves nature......

I start from Auckland.

23rd November 2009
I chose Singapore Airlines from Changi Airport Singapore. Take off at 21:15 PM and touched down in Auckland international airport at 11:15 AM (local time).
Never came across my mind that Auckland international airport is damn small. I don't feel like I was in Auckland that time.
After immigration and custom clearance, I went out straight away from the airport and looked for smoking area. For a heavy smoker like me, for sure, looking for a smoking area is the first thing on my mind.
It was so cold outside even though it was summer.
I felt very tired and lazy to take bus to the hostel and I decided to take a cab. Guess how much I have to pay for my taxi fare?
NZD70.00 , if I'm not mistaken..almost hundred bucks. So , if you want to save money, TRY not to take cab, unless you are very tired. I would recommend you to take the airport bus and it is much more cheaper.
I stayed at Nomads Fusion Hostel, one of the famous flashpacker accommodation in New Zealand. I've made a booking online for the accommodation when I was in Singapore to avoid fully booked during summer holiday.
The place was quite good, comfortable and convenient.
I stayed there for 2 nights and cost me NZD176.00
Room rate for dorm( share with 6-8 people) is much more cheaper...less than NZD20.00 per night...So, if you are on budget holiday, better choose dorm room if you don't mind to share with other backpackers.
* my first time stay at flashpacker/backpacker accommodation, just want to try new thing* i kinda like this experience because this is a chance for you to meet new people.

27th November 2009

due to no more room available, no choice!!! must find another place to stay. I tried to call some other backpacker places but failed. So I decided to stay in the hotel. I found the cheapest hotel in the city and cost me NZD98.00 per night, considered the cheapest in town.
I stayed at Kingsgate Hotel for one night only.
I went to rose garden which is in front of the hotel and took some pictures around that area....nothing special around there. The place was very quiet, not many guest stay there and the staff was not friendly during my check-in.

here are some photos for you guys

my messy room after check in

my room no. they still using this kind of key.

This is Auckland city, view from the hotel

Overall, what I think about Auckland city? There are so many Asian in Auckland especially Korean

Shopping in Auckland?? no no no...I still prefer Singapore for shopping! Singapore is the best place to go because Singapore is paradise for those who loves shopping. So DO NOT waste your money here.

Foods also expensive, especially Asian food. If you want to eat Asian food, I would recommend you to buy at the supermarket and cook yourself.

Generally, people in Auckland are quite friendly.....

They have different accent from other english-speaking country. First time in New Zealand, I was like very confuse and no clue. Here are some example of the words I've noticed.
1) do you have a pen? but it sounds like.... do you have a pin?

2) bist friends= best friends
3) tin packs =ten packs
4) sex dollars= six dollars

and many more words...So, get ready with that accent okay.......don't blur like me...hur!!!!

add some photos of auckland city for you guys......

sky tower for sky jump activity.....

liquor ban area...

sky city. casino

look at that....I don't have a chance to jump from sky tower..so sad!!!!

almost empty....no traffic jam

DFS..

like what i said, lots of korean in Auckland....this is korean shop

guess how much? my first rice I had in New Zealand and cost me ALMOST NZD10!!!!!

place where I had my first Asian food in Auckland.....

the first beer I had in New Zealand.....

Cotton On shop..

IMAX theater

nasi padang...yum yum..delicious...too bad, it was closed!!!!

aww...makes me scared to smoke..haha

Nomads Fusion Hostel (backpackers/flashpackers accommodation)

plat no: vodka....haha

see ya.....next stop Rotorua....

Hello

welcome to my world 'FABULOUS RICOLICIOUS'

After so long 'disappeared' from blogging world due to my busy schedule and some personal problems, now I am back with my new blog 'fabulous ricolicious'.
This year 2010, has been the worst year for me, but i somehow have found the strength to carry on. Always believe in yourself....

FABULOUS RICOLICIOUS is a platform for me to share whatever i want with all the fabulous people out there...i write what i like..

So, feel free to read my blog and hope you guys will like it....

*warning*

haha just a reminder.....just ignore my grammar error...
don't expect my blog written in perfect and standard english 'coz i don't want my blog too formal....

happy reading......xoxo
