Picasso Inspired to Real Life

I had an amazing time working with Danielle and Eric on their wedding. With the Picasso as the inspiration I treated the Dumbo Loft as the canvas. The Loft is one open space but I was able to create zones by draping the columns and hanging lanterns over the dance floor. It was important to keep the chairs, linens and draping white in order to create the color from the light. The centerpieces were grouping of candles surrounded by pink rose petals to ambiance at the dinner table. Lucky in Love

Lucky in Love is one of our 2012 weddings full of full and excitement. The couple will get married at Leonard's of Great Neck in the spring. The wedding colors will be yellow and blue putting a not so traditional twist on a Las Vegas theme wedding. The stationary plays a big role by infusing casino games for flare. For a fun touch we are creating martini floral centerpiece that light up. No Las Vegas theme wedding would not be complete with out a custom Lucky in Love shot glass. This wedding is sure to be a blast.

Barnyard Bliss - Wedding Theme

My 2012 bride book the Queens County Farm for her September wedding. Barnyard Bliss is all about having a relaxed fun wedding. A hay ride will escort our lovely bride into her ceremony. We will drape the Pavilion with gorgeous fabric and dress the floor with rose petals. After the ceremony guest will be treated to a hay ride or animal feeding for the children attending the wedding. We will place the animal feed in cute "Love is Sweet" bag. For the guest that go on the hay ride little snack bags personalized with the couple's name with be giving out. The caterer create a yummy BBQ spread complete with a roasted pig. The reception will be held at the barn where all the guest will get to sit at a U shaped table together. There is no need for escort cards because we are keeping the mood nice causal. To break up the big barn we will be placing lanterns over the dance floor to define the space. We didn't want to forget the plain Jane bathrooms by sprucing it up with decor and a bathroom bathroom basket with all the little toiletries need. All in all this is what I consider to be Barnyard Bliss.

Christmas centerpieces

I thought it would be fun to create some table decor for my mother in law's dinner table for Christmas. Above is the photos of the setting. I put together 5 centerpieces placed on a green satin table cloth to create a large centerpiece effect with some candles and plate chargers for a impacting table.

Above are photos of my dinning table with a single centerpiece. I wanted to jazz up each place setting by hand folding roses for each place setting. I love the look of the roses at each setting making each get feel special. I always have so much fun creating floral centerpieces and this one is no exception. Holiday Work

I found myself with a bit of down time during the holiday season, so I decided to take on some part time work at a florist shop. I helped them with their holiday orders for 3 days straight. 35 hours later I am beat and never have I worked that hard. I felt like I was in a floral bootcamp or sweat shop either one! I have great respect for people who go through bootcamp and work at a sweat shops but I am a not suited for neither. Non the less I picked up some great tips of the trade and I will apply it to my own floral business. Now that I have some down time all I want to do is lye in my bed and watch some romantic comedies. First up is "Leap Year" a woman who has an elaborate scheme to propose to her boyfriend on Leap Day, an Irish tradition which occurs every time the date February 29 rolls around, faces a major setback when bad weather threatens to derail her planned trip to Dublin. With the help of an innkeeper, however, her cross-country odyssey just might result in her getting engaged.

This movie was cute and could have been funnier but I heard the best wedding toast ever. In the movie the main characters go to a wedding where the bride give a toast to her husband. The bride says " May you never steal, lye or cheat. But if you must steal then steal away my sorrow. But if you must lye then lye with me all the nights of my life. And if you must cheat then cheat away death because I couldn't live a day without you. Cheers!" That was so cute I thought I would share.
