To help developers reach more people, we&#8217;re committed to providing distribution across all platforms. The Open Graph, combined with News Feed and Timeline, helps people discover new apps through friends, regardless of the technology stack used. We see more people accessing Facebook on the mobile web than from our top native apps combined, so we know the mobile web is important for reach. So why aren&#8217;t more people building apps for the mobile web? We hear from developers that there are three challenge areas that make it hard to build on the mobile web: app discovery, mobile browser fragmentation and [...]<div class="feedflare">

Social media management software company Buddy Media acquired Facebook Ads API partner Brighter Option as a way to provide a comprehensive software package for marketers, the company announced today. Buddy Media now offers Facebook ad creation and optimization tools along with its social publishing, moderation, analytics and application software. The company says it chose to acquire London-based Brighter Option over 20 other ad partners because it wanted to buy technology and a team, not an agency. We were impressed with Brighter’s Option’s latest iteration of the Social Ad Manager, which combines the Facebook Insights and Ads APIs. Now with integration [...]<div class="feedflare">

Russian social and mobile game company Game Insight revealed it earned $ 50 million in revenue in 2011. The company’s CEO, Alisa Chumachenko shared the numbers last week in her talk at the Russian social game conference Sociality Rocks!. According to Chumachenko, the company aims to reach $ 150 million in annual revenues in 2012. The $ 50 million figure fits with the performance of the company’s games. Game Insight told us last year that it was earning $ 1 million a month from its free-to-play Android hit Paradise Island, and the iOS version of My Country was earning $ 150,000 a [...]<div class="feedflare">

Facebook is looking to bring more real-time insights to pages soon, Techcrunch reports. As we suggested last week, recent bugs in the Insights API could be an indication the social network is updating the product. Representatives from Facebook tell us they have nothing yet to announce, but it’s possible the company will make note of the change at its marketing conference Wednesday. Metrics like reach, virality and People Talking About This are currently released 48 hours after a post is made. This is sufficient for most page owners, but if the social network could reliably share all analytics in real-time, [...]<div class="feedflare">

Facebook now displays Questions activity in the mobile News Feed nearly a year after the product launched on the desktop version of the site. Mobile users can finally see and answer Facebook Questions from their friends and pages. This could increase engagement for pages who use the feature to poll their fan base and could boost viral reach. However, users still cannot ask Questions from native apps or m.facebook.com. When the product launched in March 2011, many pages found success getting more fans to respond to structured Questions than posts that posed questions in plain text. In recent months, fewer [...]<div class="feedflare">

You&#8217;ve probably seen hijacked accounts that message you with &#8220;I can&#8217;t believe they said that about you&#8221; and a link to spam.
