I am super super excited NYFW will begin so soon. I just recently landed an amazing internship at Factory PR, which I will be staring this Monday!! I am so overly joyed because this company is a major PR firm in fashion and represents so many amazing brands, so this year I am hoping to be part of the chaos that all fashionistas live for.. FASHION WEEK. One of my favorite sites to keep up with whats going on in this amazing world of ours is NYMag.com. They do such an amazing job covering every show, party and event in fashion, and the images and videos of runways are spectacular, so in lieu of the upcoming shows I've posted below my top 5 favorite couture fashion shows straight from the paris runways. Christian Dior

I loved the fun, funky prints and pastel colors incorporated in their fall couture line it was almost like a fashion circus I loved how out of the box it was.

Elie Saab

(one of my all time favorite designers) I love the way the colors and fabrics are so angelic, and heavenly, but with lots of sheer to add sex appeal.

Valentino

This collection felt very sixteenth century I immediately thought Romeo &amp;amp;amp;amp; Juliet but with some modern edge.

Givenchy

At this showing of the collection the pieces are like works of art, so much intricate detail. I just wished I could have seen them on models instead of mannequins they deserved to be brought to life with movement.

Armani Prive

This was my favorite line. I loved how asian inspired this collection was. The vivid colors and floral prints, but most of all the strong structured silhouettes the pieces had.

since the last time I went shopping feels like light years ago I decided to post some images of some of my favorite fairly new items in my closet. I'm in love with the forever 21 dress I'm wearing above, the burnt orange tone gives it a vintage feel and I love the tiers that keep it feminine. If you've been following my blog you'll remember my deep obsession with finding those JS pumps in that vibrant greenish color that were sold out for months... HA! to those who doubted me! because low and behold the new edition to my shoe collection is in fact those SOLD OUT PUMPS! mwahaha. (ok I'm a little excited) but seriously I can't even believe myself that I finally got them :) I've also got a few new books, the coco chanel gospel being my fave. Some fun blazers for summer also found a new home in my closet, as well as the cutest kate spade espadrilles with metallic gold ribbon stripes, which in a secret confession I wear like everyday. They're so comfy and so cute and (according to me) go with everything! ehh. let me live. Ohhh. and how could I forget? the absolute most gorgeous crochet skirt you could ever find (see below waaaaay below). In person I talk fast.. have you caught on to that by the way I write? haha.

I promised myself and crossed my heart that I will put more effort into my mini master piece (I'm referring to my blog, ofcourse.) so here begins day one: the effort.

Should the opportunity I am praying for present itself to me, I was searching for the perfect outfit for the occasion. Doing my daily web shopping (or window shopping as of now) I was looking for the shoe that made me scream YES! Y O U ! YOU ARE THE ONE! and clicking away I stumbled across this shoe on asos. At first I did not scream, so I wasn't sure it was "the one" and then it revealed that it came in four colors and I sat in silence, this.. is it? could it? I think.. and although I didn't shout out as I assumed I would when I found it. This shoe -- the Heist is indeed the perfect shoe I was looking for, and even more perfect because it came in the gold color I had originally set my mind on searching for and then I saw the other colors and no I was not looking for a leopard print and honestly I'm not too fond of leopard but this one with the rich black, chunky heel and suede bow turned me into a lover. The color blocked and navy pairs do it for me also, don't you think?

Over the July 4th weekend my best friend invited me to attend the PS1 MoMA exhibit with her sister who is an architect and a couple of her co-workers. Expecting to just be viewing artwork I was extremely surprised to walk into a super chic hipster party? We stayed outside for a little while enjoying the music, the scene and food and some drinks. Once we ventured inside to the exhibit things got a little strange.. there was lots of videography and as much as I'd like to explain what I saw there were no words.. you had to be there to understand the strange awkwardness, and while you were not allowed to take pics inside I managed to sneak a few so enjoy! xx

is it already July? where did the time go? the weather hasn't been all that great so far this summer but I'm trying to enjoy as much as I can of the good days.. I guess I've been so caught up enjoying my free time that I never grab my camera this is the first summer I am not working two jobs, or in school, or interning so I actually get to enjoy it, that will all change at the end of august when its back to responsibility and and school. in the mean time for the remainder of the summer I have a July resolution: start snapping pics! I'm promising myself I'm going to start outfit posting, but for now polyvore works for outfit ideas..

the skirt above is by Jack by BB dakota i absolutely fell in love with it the moment I saw it and I've been watching it online for a couple months I'd say I'm finally caving in and buying it because it's back in stock in my size on modcloth.com so I'm just going to convince myself it's fate (whatever makes me sleep at night right? haha)

wow. it's been awhile since I've blogged I have so many new things to share but I'm super busy and won't get around to it until next week. I had a great memorial weekend tried to catch a tan but was unsuccessful :( lately I've been obsessed with the idea of getting feather hair extensions but the only salon I know in my area does them for $20 each one! they are so cute I want to just get a couple to be subtle hopefully I get around to it soon. below I'm posting a poem by a very good friend of mine Massiel (@xomassi on twitter). Every now and then I come across something that I allow to consume me. Whether it be a trend, a color, a shoe, a song, I begin to keep up with it compulsively. This time it happens to be a blog, this blog in particular. It's called honestly...wtf written by Erica, who is a designer and Lauren, who is a stylist. For the past two days I have been reading through every single page looking at each post (so far I've made it to page 40) because I want to catch up on all of their inspiring-ness that I've been missing out on. I can't help it, I can't stop and I can't not believe in all my time surfing the net it took me this long to find. It is so multicultural with posts on everything from fashion to photography, art, home decor, DIY's, architecture, and so much more. There is no doubt in my mind that this is a blog that ANYONE will fall in love with, just as I did. Some images from posts via their blog below! what was I doing last night? the same thing all of your were doing.. hitting the refresh button on my blackberry twitter app constantly to see who was arriving in what at the 2011 Met Ball of course, which was in honor of the new exhibit dedicated to Alexander McQueen called Savage Beauty. I honestly feel like someone should have been airing this red carpet event live just as they do the oscars, but since it wasn't I was stuck staring at my little screen hitting refresh, refresh, refresh refresh.. well you get my point. But before focusing on the red carpet arrivals attention had to be turned to the one and only Daphne Guinness, who dressed live in the Barney's window on Madison for the event. No it was nothing like a peep show, and after watching the video I was left confused. It was a very odd display of behavior (before putting on the gown she was in a McQueen jumpsuit, swimming? across a table and making other very random gestures and poses) but none the less epic. She dressed in an gorgeous duck and ostrich feathered Alexander McQueen gown and fled the scene in a vintage 1970's Mercedes..

keep in mind this all happened in about eight minutes.

what was a little more interesting (that's what we'll call the performance, interesting.) than Daphne's performance was the fashionistas in the crowd who came out for the event in inspired outfits. They were so young, and creative it's truly amazing. my favorite was the girl with the feathered outfit!

SO. As I mentioned in a previous post, I finally got my camera! It's the canon power shot sx30is. I looked into a few DSLR cams, but they are waaaay too expensive and way too technical for me. I fell in love with this camera because it offers features that provide certain effects that you would need different lenses with a DSLR that will cost you probably just as much as the camera itself. And to be perfectly honest I'm not too technologically savvy, so this camera is fairly easy to figure out how to use (well at least I'm trying and testing as of now so bare with me!). So with that said here are a few of my first shots with my new camera. It's Easter weekend and this year I'm not up to anything special. Just a low key day watching the nba playoffs (which by the way my fav team the boston celtics are sweeping the ny knicks right out the playoffs as I type about to win the series 4-0) and doing laundry while my boyfriend is with his family in Long Island. I figured today was the perfect day to do laundry because there would probably be no one else in the laundry room and I was right ! :) it's the little things that please me i tell ya lol.

I purchased these nail polishes from cvs. When I saw essie was finally in stores I couldn't resist stocking up on their new spring collection colors. My favorite is sand tropez not only because of the name (which alone does it for me) but because it really resembles beach sand! Also I've been DYING to share this dress. I am in love with it. One shoulder in a bubble gum pink with a sheer floral sleeve, it's amazing. Since I'm still getting the hang of this cam my photos don't do it justice but you can just imagine how beautiful and springy it is. I wish someone I know would get marries I'd love to wear it to a wedding for now I'm thinking more casual like with a pair of distressed jeans.. we'll see.

I couldn't decide between the two NARS lipstick colors so what the hell I'd mix both! lol. I need those wedges in my life. I've been loving more tribal type prints lately a nice turn from the normal floral prints for spring. I am in desperate need of a white blazer where oh where will I find the perfect one..

oh, and what's better than a Chanel Mimosa? The perfect shade of yellow polish if I do say so!

The seasons changing to spring, which is really one of the best times to clean because you can open the windows and/or doors and let the days light shine in and the soft, calming, breeze blow as you decide what you want to keep, what you need to keep, and what you need to get rid of. A lot more than my wardrobe is changing for spring, but that seems to be the easiest transitions of all the other things I'm juggling. I stopped today on my day off (which is a rare occasion in itself) to take a deep breath and re-evaluate all the things I've got going on and figure out what I need to do to make my rocky road just a bit smoother, since I haven't come to any conclusions just yet, I figured I'd stick to what I do know for now, which is clothing. As I pulled all the pieces I want to mix and pair for spring, I look around and realize.. I seem to have forgotten about the rest of my room. Typically my room is dark, with a heavy curtain blocking the sun from ever shining in (I like to sleep so I like my room to feel like nighttime all day lol), my dresser is a dark mahogany wood with black metal accents, and my night stand is painted black. I have two huge black and white portraits of Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn hanging above my bed, each with red lips. I start to think.. what a dark and dreary room I have, so I'm on a hunt to brighten up my space. I was on urban outfitters site and noticed they have some great quilts and duvets in bright colors for an instant splash of brightness. I think it's time I add a little life to this room of mine!

miu miu e-shop!

I was excited to check out miu miu's new e-shop. I'm so happy to see more and more brands jumping on the online shopping trend. I have to admit I shop online 80% of the time, it's just so much easier and more convenient in my busy life. While I'm working on my blog or writing or everything else it's great to know I can just open another tab in my browser and click. click. click. new merchandise! lol. and what's better than the fact that it is delivered right to your door (or in my case to my job lol!) Although miu miu is currently out my price range I took some shots of some of my favorite pieces available on their site. Obviously I got a little excited so I filled my 'current cravings' list (which is my fashiolista widget) on the right side of my blog with a little miu miu outfit I MUST HAVE, hey. a girl can dream..

I've always loved miu miu for their classic, feminine silhouettes and that lovely shade of 'miu miu' pink, and the touch of girly with hearts and bows that doesn't make you feel like a little girl it makes you feel.. p r e t t y.

when I'm ready to invest in my first pair of designer pumps, they will most definitely be a pair of miu miu's.

I had to post this, because this outfit a n n o u n c e s spring, and left me so inspired. Selena Gomez in this Christian Cota off the runway outfit is so gorgeous and it's so young and fun for her age and personality. I think she was best dressed at the kid's choice awards (*whispers. even better than the kardashian klan) yea I said it! I wanna find a similar style top I ADORE the watercolor look it has. I already have the perfect white linen shorts for spring and I am ohhhh so happy about that.

I styled this look hoping to shake the heavy obsession I have with these pumps so this my friends is how I'd rock em. it's out of stock EVERYWHERE and I seem to have exhausted every possible way of getting a pair and came up empty handed. so depressing. but I still have hope!

that top shop infrared lipstick is on my must own list for summer. I think it's perrrrfect in every way, and when I laid eyes on those peach metallic fringe shorts I knew that was exactly what my closet was missing all these years. j'adore. <3

NO WAY. wildfox couture sent me straight down memory lane with their sweet valley high inspired summer '11 lookbook. and don't teeeeell me you didn't read sweet valley high when you were younger because I will just drop dead right now! this had to be one of my favorite teen book series ever about the two twins and all their draaamaaa, well incase you forgot..

I remember when they attempted to make it a tv series but it was cancelled (waaaahh *snooki cry) that was disappointing. but how could you not have been hooked?! I'm sure you were just as I was. My friend just informed me that E! news reported they're putting out a movie based on the series, yay hooray! As soon as I saw this lookbook I headed straight to barnesandnoble.com to see if I could get me a box set so I can read them over the summer.. well.. that sent me straight on a flash back trip because then I came across some other books that I read when I was younger.. the anonymous teenager series. REMEMBER. go ask alice. how could you forget? I mean that book was so controversial, mostly because Beatrice Sparks (the 'editor') claimed she didn't write the book, it was an 'ANONYMOUS' teenager. but then proceeded to put out a series which she was labeled the author to. regardless of all that one of my favorites was 'it happened to nancy' a story about a girl who was infected with HIV and ultimately dies from AIDS. It really drew me in because as teens and young adults I believe we all do feel a bit invincible if you will. we are so consumed in school, homework, work, our social lives, spring break ect that we don't really think bad things could happen so it's a great book for that age range.

TURQUOISE! I am head over heels in love with this color the second I saw Beyonce in those turquoise louboutin daffodile's I knew I wanted to get something similar, and then I saw a photo of Khloe Kardashian in the turquoise louboutin bibi's and my want evolved into a full of desperation of NEED. obviously louboutin's are not in my price range so where oh where could I find a similar pair? and then click. click. click. I came across the Jessica Simpson waleo pump in Miami green even the name is sooo appealing but OH NO! (*covers eyes) the ONLY site selling them in this color is out of stock!! I am telling you all RIGHT NOW I will not sleep, I will not eat, I will not rest until I own this Jessica Simpson pump! ok, maybe I'm being over dramatic as usual lol. but I am going to search high and low for this because it is the epitome of me!

I found some Giusseppe Zanotti flats and a wedge in a similar color which I love also.

How do I even start this post? If you haven't heard Katie Holmes has taken on the role of the oh so infamous Jackie O in the lifetime movie series The Kennedy's which premiers THIS SUNDAY! They couldn't have cast a more perfect actress for the role (the resemblance is uncanny), I think Katie gives off a similar presence as Jackie did. Extremely well-manner, poise and private with lots of mystery, yet always elegant and ALWAYS chic. Jackie has always been one of my greatest style inspirations with her perfectly tailored suits and coats in bold colors, and her signature glasses and gloves. I always said when I get rich (because I will ;) haha) I'm going to wear Chanel suits just as she did. Her image is timeless and I can not wait to watch the eight part miniseries!

I have to admit that after religiously watching every season of jersey shore, three seasons later it has me missing trips down to seaside. Once a year my mom would make sure we went down, usually in may around mothers day. I can taste the home made Italian iceys and cotton candy. I remember when I was finally being able to reach the height line for the go karts, I must have road those things a few hundred times. I always made my mom get me a bunch of those printed t-shirts and hoodies. Going to the shore was huge for me because I've never been out the country, the furthest I've gone from home was Florida to Disney when I was younger and Miami last spring break. I always remember gazing out the window on the drive down to jersey thinking so close to home but yet when I'm there I feel so far away. I definitely miss those trips I hope I make the effort to go down this year because as corny people think it is, some of my favorite childhood memories are drawn back to the shore.

can you tell I'm obsessed with that purple toy watch? 2nd appearance in two days. I'm becoming compulsive with creating these collages as you can see by my last two posts. its an easy, creative way to show trends and create outfits so get used to it because you'll be seeing a whole lot more haha. I kind of feel like I'm working for a magazine when I'm doing them.. but anyway. I need a watch which was the inspiration for this post. I can't remember the last time I owned one and I know I can easily check the time on my phone or the far corner of my computer, but there's something about being able to glance down at your wrist and seeing a fabulously created timepiece that pulls together fashion and function. I think the purple toy watch is such a statement piece and would add boldness to many different outfits this season and as a Sagittarius (I'm kind of a horoscope junkie) purple is my power color so it'd be perfect for me, but realistically I'm not dishing out the cash for it lol. white watches are big right now also I love the guess one its so simple but they added just the right amount of sparkle to not make it look cheap. I really like the marc by marc jacobs one because instead of numbers they used the name and alternated bright colors for each letter. The blue on the band of the juicy couture watch is so gorgeous it reminds me of my favorite nail polish (chanel riva) a great color for spring.

In the end I am happily purchasing the D&G watch but not in the pink shown you'll have to wait and see when it arrives :) I loved the mod, chic feel to it and the design is simple but still has a bold tendency even when it comes in white or black. stay tuned to see what color I chose!
