Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly-growing cancer cells and also destroys rapidly-growing healthy cells and can cause organ damage. Radiation while destroying cancer cells also burns, scars and damages healthy cells, tissues and organs. Initial treatment with chemotherapy and radiation will often reduce tumour size. However prolonged use of chemotherapy and radiation do not result in more tumour destruction. Too much toxic burden from chemotherapy and radiation can result in various kinds of infections and complications.

An effective way to battle cancer is to starve the cancer cells by not feeding it with foods it needs to multiply. Cancer cells feed on augar substitutes and artificial sweeteners: a better natural substitute would be Manuka honey or molasses, but only in very small amounts. Table salt has a chemical to make it white, so rather use Bragg’s aminos or sea salt or Himalayan salt. Supplements can build the immune system, anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals, EFAs, to enable the bodies own killer cells to destroy cancer cells.

Dioxon chemicals cause cancer, especially breast cancer. Don’t freeze your plastic bottles with water in them as this releases dioxins from the plastic. We should not be heating our food in the microwave using plastic containers, especially fat.

Milk causes the body to produce mucus, especially in the gastro-intestinal tract. Cancer feeds on mucus. Cancer cells thrive in an acidic environment. A meat based diet is acidic, it is best to eat fish, and a little other meat that does not contain livestock antibiotics, growth hormones and parasites. Meat protein is difficult to digest and requires a lot of digestive enzymes, so it can become putrefied and lead to more toxic build-up. Cancer cell walls have a tough protein covering. By refraining from or eating less meat it frees more enzymes to attack the protein walls of cancer cells and allows the body’s killer cells to destroy the cancer cells.
A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole grains, seeds, nuts and a little fruits help put the body into an alkaline environment. About 20% can be from cooked food including beans. Fresh vegetables juices provide enzymes that are easily absorbed and reach down to cellular levels within 15 minutes to nourish and enhance growth of healthy cells. Eat some raw vegetables 2 or 3 times a day.

Avoid coffee, tea, and chocolate, which have high caffeine. Green Tea is a better alternative and has cancer fighting properties. Drink purified water, or filtered, to avoid known toxins and heavy metals. The natural way to alkaline is to squeeze fresh lemons in water.

Cancer is a disease of the mind, body and spirit. A proactive and positive spirit will help the cancer warrior be a survivor. Learn to have a loving and forgiving spirit. Learn to relax and enjoy life.

Cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment. Exercising daily, and deep breathing help to get more oxygen down to the cellular level. Oxygen therapy is another means employed to destroy cancer cells.

As the founder of Faces of Hope Foundation I can honestly say that JT Foxx is one of the most authentic, giving and caring individuals who has not only a passion for business but for giving back to charity as well as making a difference to the lives of others. JT is direct and has one of the largest personalities I have had the privilege of meeting. I can honestly say once you get to experience and be in JT’ Foxx’s presence you will really get to understand that JT is all about investing, helping people and making a difference.

14 Year Old Teen sings at the FOREVER CHANGED Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign.

The 1st October 2014, the first day of International Breast Cancer Awareness month was the launch of the ‘FOREVER CHANGED’ Breast Cancer awareness campaign showcasing the story of breast cancer warrior Addi Lang. Lang’s story and the ‘FOREVER CHANGED’ campaign focuses on prevention; early detection; your rights as a patient; doctor/patient negligence and messages of hope to cancer warriors and the public. The MC for the event was Sheila Pires, TV Presenter on Good Morning Africa and Radio announcer and producer on Radio Veritas. The audience included members of the press, VIP Guests and sponsors who attended the FOREVER CHANGED press conference hosted by Blue Inc and Blue Note Events together with Caitlins Casting at the Bryanston Sports Club. Celebrities included Zoleka Mandela and her fiance, singers and actors included Megan C, Emmanuel Castis, Paulinah Somo and Melissa Moodley.

Addi Lang was officially appointed as the October Ambassador for the Faces of Hope Foundation. The celebrities presented Faces of Hope Foundation Director Kerrin Black with an original artwork by Dimi Korvessis. This is to be auctioned to raise funds for individuals in need of financial assistance for cancer treatment. The songs ‘Forever Changed’ by Carrie Underwood and ‘Wind Beneath My Wings’ by Bette Midler were recorded at Wired Sound Studios and directed by First Take Productions sung by local singers to pay tribute to the FOREVER CHANGED campaign. Lead singers included Shae Webb, Liane Heyl, Megan C, Emmanuel Castis and backup singers from Caitlins Casting agency. A Public Service Announcement was also written by screenwriter Kathleen West and recorded by Megan C and Paulinah Somo. The event also marked the birth of the FOREVER CHANGED and BUTTERFLY BLESSINGS range of turbans to be sold through Bella Donna Scarves.
14 Year old Shae Webb, (represented by Caitlins Casting) is launching her career internationally I have been proud to sing Wind Beneath My Wings for your campaign and I would like to dedicate the latest song I wrote for everybody to enjoy and honour all of those who have been a part of their own growth and learning about lifes ups and downs and how we choose to cope. YOU BUILT ME is for the warriors that we can all become and for you as my ever-loving agent and in honour of the future FOREVER CHANGED campaign. Addis tearful response to Shae was that this is a dear and special message to me and the FOREVER CHANGED campaign, and as the everloving agent we will be launching her career internationally as she has been spotted by Atlantic records in the USA. “What you have at the end of your life will be determined by how much you gave.”- Ettiëne Pretorius

14 March 2014, Necker Island, British Virgin Isles- On the 14th March 2014, a South African Businessman swam from Necker Island to Moskito Island situated in the British Virgin Isles to raise funds for Faces of Hope. Ettiëne Pretorius says, “To me personally it’s all about having a balanced lifestyle, being able to do business and create international relationships together while having fun doing it.”

Ettiëne was invited to Necker Island for a 5 day Oxford meets Necker think tank, where the top professors of Oxford University together with 20 influential entrepreneurs all over the world came together to discuss climate change and how they as influential individuals can bring change, setting examples of how to build a greener environment. “People with money aren’t always influential, but influential people will always have money,” says Pretorius.

Ettiëne Pretorius was born with one sole purpose, to influence the world and to share his passion for business with a burning desire to become one of the world’s top entrepreneurs. He received the “ABSA Top Entrepreneur South Africa award” in 2005 for his clothing company and real estate investments as well as the International Businessman Award in 2013. He went on to receive an International Businessman Award from the J.T Foxx Organisation, and was congratulated by Arnold Schwarzenegger, Donna Karan (DKNY) and Wayne Allan Root (US Vice President candidate). Ettiëne lives by the 10 000 hour rule and backs it up with his ongoing studies. Whilst training for Ironman South Africa which took place on the 6th April 2014, Ettiëne decided to train whilst being on Necker which became a motivation to swim from Necker to Moskito Island symbolising a passion to do something for a greater cause, raising awareness for Faces of Hope. Ettiene says, “Being part of a children’s home for 7 years, has changed my life and gave ‘giving’ a whole different meaning. Success defined by me is ‘the power of my choices and the decisions I make to influence other people to be significant.”
On the 14th March 2014, Ettiëne woke up to a sunny morning and stood on the beach looking out towards the direction he would have to swim whilst the rest of the crew got ready to accompany him on paddle boards, power and sail boats. It could potentially be dangerous swimming in the channel as boats are occasionally passing through and wouldn’t necessarily notice a swimmer free styling through the surface of the ocean. For Pretorius the 5km swim was exhilarating and rewarding knowing the purpose behind the challenge. After the swim, Sir Richard Branson together with Ettiëne and the group, had a group discussion about Global Warming where after they explored Moskito before enjoying lunch and a swim in the sea.
Necker Island and Moskito Island are both owned by Sir Richard Branson. Moskito Island is going to be developed into a premier ecotourism resort and Necker Island is going to continue to reduce environmental impact, setting a great example for other island communities worldwide. To travel to Necker Island one would need to take a connecting flight to the British Virgin Isles and then a short boat trip to land on the shores of the picturesque tropical island in the Caribbean.

Ettiëne says, “Traveling as frequently as I have been the past few years, I realized how important it is to create an experience for your customers. The drive of the Momentum 94.7 Cycle Challenge is to ride “for fitness, for yourself, and for a purpose.”
For the past three years, I have done the cycle challenge for fitness, for myself and in honor of my late father – an avid cyclist. This year, my fourth year, it was no different except I rode for a purpose.

The power of social media led me to Kerrin Black, the inspiring, selfless founder of the Faces of Hope Foundation. I shared my purpose with Kerrin and assured her that if she let me drive this initiative on my own that I would not let her down. I had three goals:

1.    To raise money to contribute to the Faces of Hope goals of financially assisting cancer patients with their treatments and raising cancer awareness.
2.    To campaign awareness for Faces of Hope in the hope of gathering support from community projects or businesses wanting to share in the foundation’s vision and to provide support in terms of volunteering time, products or financial contributions.
3.    To be an active citizen and do my best within my means to be, see and most importantly encourage faces of hope!

I can proudly say that, I and 8 other individuals who were inspired and grasped at this opportunity to make a difference, managed to achieve all three goals.
At the finish line, there were 9 individuals who truly believe that the purpose of life is to live a life of a purpose and they intend to continue their active support of Faces of Hope.
My plea to you all is to be inspired, put on those hope coloured glasses and remember that seeing a face of hope is in the eye of the beholder.
