Celcom... Problem with Auto Data Update Pay per Usa Charge

Got in trouble with Celcom pay per use auto data when the phone automatically updated my non internet sim into internet usage...

Last time I was charged the max RM300... as the phone update automatically. . I managed to convince celcom to waive with the condition to change to internet data. It happen again this time round when I expected celcom to change my plan to min data and they didn't. Ran up to RM196 this time round.

Really fed up but as that no connect to hubby.. so I jz let it go. Bet I can get it waive this round too as they said they will upgrade but didnt.

So... I went out and bought a basic nokia phone for RM100... last resort to ensure no data get charged by celcom again. Besides.. perhaps better as the hp battery should last forever.

Am transferring all pic from the BB now. So.. last word.. be very carefull when putting non Internet sims into smartphone. You might be like me.. being charged rm300 plus for jz a night. Heard it used to run to thousands before people start complaining to celcom hence the max cap. A nuisance!

A Year Plus with My Exora

Well, a picture paints a thousand words.. haha.. I guess you can say that we are very satisfied with our Exora.

The kiddies definitely with the DVD system, the back seats is the preferred choice. For long distance journey, it would be packed with pillows and travel blankie. Tho we definitely recommend one at the last seat and another for the front passenger seat for luxurious sleep in the Exora.

Me and my Hannah would be in the middle seat, definitely very comfy esp when Hannah had her nap, and the boys sleeping.. I would have majority call on what to watch on the DVD much to designated driver's aka hubby's annoyance, hahaha sorry Yang...

Hannah love the middle divider arm rest and treat it as her special seat. It is a big flimsy tho.. I wouldn't advise heavy load or big boy's to sit on it tho.. perhaps for 3 year old and below should be fine.

Mine now clocks nearly 30K.. need to get it serviced perhaps this Saturday.. hehe.. well, since we had it starting 29/5/2013 i.e. just a year plus of ownership... well, it is well travelled. The kiddies love it and it is the preferred travel choice, surpassing hubby's Sorento.. whom aim to get an entertainment system to be installed in so that the kiddies would love it too.. but it is just the spaciousness of my Exora that wins hands down.

Overall, I am well satisfied with my Exora, well haters would be haters but I just love mine. It is my daily commute to work and weekly commute to kampong (I am a PJJ mom and wifey) so definely 30km*4 (Work - Bukit Payung) plus 115km*2 (for Kerteh-KT) = minimum 350 km weekly clock in my Exora...

Hiya.. haven't been posting much to I had been to Hatyai (via Rantau Panjang) and Penang in the past months but no time laaahhh.. lotsa reports to do yadda yadda.. tho I really like to jot down my journey to Hatyai as reference.. who knows I might be able to drive there again someday..

I had been selfish.. nearly 10 years as PJJ (Pengajian Jarak Jauh haha tongue in check there - for long distance relationship).. my base in Kerteh but I worked in KL for 5 years before here in KT for nearly 6 years now.. my kiddies are with my mom n dad and I am a singleton on weekdays..

Now with 3 kiddies, I felt I had been selfish.. previously I had rationalised the situations with statement of wanting to find a government job (I am a civil servant by the way) nearby but seems that job been elusive..

So.. I might retire by end this year by hook or crook.. might be pursuing my PHD.. might start my own online bizz.. might be a CPO-Poyo wannabe as well.. hehe wish me luck!

Thought just want to capture my full morning cleaning result before havoc moved in again heheh....

I quite like the airy feel of our living cum dining cum kitchen area.... the kitchen cabinet once completed does give ample storage space. The full high area is just there because hubby does not want dusts to accumulate. Its a bit hard to reach so I am just gonna store very rarely used items.

Display areas just to store our tid bits ... example like myself with simple souveniors I got when giving talks or do visits but it does look mundane so we been thinking to just collect ship models when we go on holidays next. It kinda make the display more exclusive looking.

Ok.. gotta start house clean again.. byeee. ..

Well.. thought of capturing the kitchen before its transformation tomorrow. ... this is after throwing all the junk out and scrubbing a bit... u can see the cabinet laying on the floor. . It would take an estimated 2 days for it to be done.

Well... we shall see tomorrow. Oooo on another development. . Hannah is trying to step independently. . Few days ago she tried a step lunge style.. yhis morning at breakfast almost 4 steps.. then with my mom 5 steps.. yeayyy.. a bit late at almost 1y 1m but not bad nonetheless :)

My Exora Car Door Problem

Well... I bet u are wondering why the tittle on defect but the pic is a thosai.... hahaha me too ;)

Had an off on off again prob with my Exora car door actually.. my side aka the driver. It started a few weeks ago... when I corner a bit to the left.. the open car sign snd signal came up.. very annoying.

We been slamming the door since then thinking perhaps the door was loose. Anyway it came down to boil yesterday when the signal wont came off and I can feel that the door is not sticking well..back at home I cant even lock up the door.

So this morning.. gone to a service centre near to where I work.. Eon Proton Sales and Service Centre Padang Midin.. my 3rd frequented service centre after Kemaman and Kerteh actually. It was nice n roomy.. lotsa worker.. free refreshments as well.. saw some nasi lemak n hot drinks wow!!

Anyway been preparing for a couple of hours of servising. Been imagining they would need to open up the door and repairing the sensor but .... 5 mins later.. all finished kak!

Well.. I am impressed.... they prob is on the hinge that had become loose. So tighten that up and the Exora is good to go. No cost too yippeee ;)

Anyway... so just 5 mins to be late to the office is just a shame. Thought to kill up time for a thosai breakfast then hehe :)

2nd Exora Service @ 10, 000 km

Am in the office car currently on the way to KB.... bored and lotsa time to update my blog :)

Last Sunday my Exora reaches 10k... timely esp a new Proton Service Centre just open at my kampung Kerteh Terengganu... beats going to Kemaman and waiting there...

Overall okla... alhamdulillah... my Exora still perform beautifully... paid around RM 135 this time for minyak hitam n gasket? Add on RM 20 for full car cleaning and vacuum.

Bet also today is a dark day as Ron95 also hike 20 cents... well... have to say its inevitable but quite dissatisfied with the stupid comments MP made.. I think Malaysia got lots of stupid politicians.. with the aim of becoming a develop nation... we need to have leaders with world class mentality.

My Review on My Samsung Galaxy Grand

Well... Its been nearly two weeks since I had the Grand, I think I need to do a review here, a quick jot on what I like and dislike on the Grand. I only compare it to my Samsung Tab.. both almost similarly price at around RM1000. Cheap when compared to the more sophisticated Samsung offerings such as Notes etc, but my devise is more important to me towards making calls, check my mails, blog a bit, surf website when I was driven towards long journey meeting as well as small games.

Like
- the size is just right.. at first glance people always mistaken it as a note haha (not that I care tho)... as well as I could be discreet when snapping pics during meetings, factory visits, minister visits :P
- 2 sims.. that's the major point for me, no more lugging 2 phones.. the official and my personal ones.. both of whom I don't pay.. the office, of course office would pay (with unlimited internet to boot) and the personal hubby would pay (RM5 monthly.. usually we only use it to call and sms each other)..
- 2 normal sim slots.. I don't like to cut up my sims ... if yours is micro sims, perhaps you could consider the Grand Quattro
- Got flashlights (haha.. none there for my Nokia Asha, old gen Blackberry and Tab)...
- Excellent video quality with good audio
- Better battery life than the tab.. but again perhaps cz I didn't play as much game on the Grand

Don't Like
- the device memory is small 4MB.. so it feels a bit sluggish when compared to my Tab... even when playing simple games such as Baby Babsy (for my Hannah there) ..
- even when I add on the extra 16MB memory.. it still stores application on the miniscule device memory.. need to google a bit, perhaps I could change placement of the application to sd memory
- the quality pics also is not sharp as the tab...
- you need to focus longer time when taking pics.. else it would be blurry (1st pic of the boys when I took time to focus and the 2nd one is blurry cz I just snapped)

Well, overall I am happy. Had already given my Nokia Asha to my mom and the office BB after I transfer the pics there perhaps to the office cabinet.. Tab I would keep for the boys to play during long haul journey as well as for me to read the iQuran with but at least now, I could leave it at home and just bring my Grand everywhere during my work day.

Had also transfer Pao to her/his new home at my Grand.. easy peasy, just save and then log out of your old device, then install the application at the new device and then log in using your email.

Had also transfer the Pocket Budget.. usefull for me to track my spending.. then my Net Diary, need to repurchase cz I need to diet (its a calories counter device, great for me to track what I am eating).. need to also install the Qiblat and Azan as well as iQuran Lite. No more Candy Crush... am stuck and no longer addicted. Bejeweled Blitz I need to pay so am just installing the Jewel Saga. For the kiddies, the phone would be for Baby Hannah so Talking Baby Babsy.. I Read Stories (good storybook application).. perhaps I try to install Angela the Cat this time and some girly games :)

Well.... its the 3rd day of raya and tomorrow I need to start working. That the peril of getting a new fussy boss. As usual, there won't be any visitors to thr office and I will surf the internet as usual.

So.. whats new? Ooooo I bet using my samsung grand for a week snf am very satisfied. Bigger but not too big screen ensures I br discreet ehen taking pics and big enuff for me to read emails n surf the net when I am on the move ;)

My Spanking Brand New Galaxy Grand is HERE!!!!!

Well, couldn't wipe the smug smile on my face at the moment. Am deliriously happy as my Grand is here. It arrived last Thursday after two days of buying it from Superbuy but I wasn't here at my office, had a meeting in Kuantan so had asked my staffs to keep em for me.

When I arrived at work today, I was a bit apprehensive as I had a bad experience with Superbuy before with my Tab. Had waited almost 3 weeks and need to ask before they deign to reply saying the colour I wanted (white) wasn't in stock. Was really pissed then but Superbuy does give great bargain, so when I finally had the itch for a Grand, I bought it from them too.. but now I am more proactive, asking them first as well as wouldn't hesitate to screw them if they didn't perform again.

Anyway, its here and I am deliriously happy. Got the Grand with the free c-pen, also bought a 16GB micro SDHD for the extra memory as well as a pillow for Hannah :) .. from Lelong.com, bought the cover with freebies Grand protective Screen Protector too!

Well, after a bit of a struggle to open the back (had to ask my staffs for help).. so, I decided to just slot in my 2 normal sims, the add memories as well as battery for the 8 hours first time charge. Am observing that the back is plasticky, no wonder people are complaining about this aspect of Samsung.

Well, that's it for the first review. Will update later when I had the chance to explore my Grand a bit :)

Ops, Bought a Grand!

Thought I would KIV it next month, but what can I say.. When the hankering is there, I need to scratch the itch.

So, I had decided against Asha 501. Why? Cz although its two sims, its micro sims. I don't want to cut up my sims. yeah, stupid reasons right but WTH. Anyway, one of my staff got hers, and I had a chance to play with it. Advantage.. Small and light. Disadvantage? The display not so nice and when I try to play Zombie vs Plant, it feels sluggish. Well, its not for me but definitely good for teenagers and younger gens (ops, does that mean I am "matured??"..

Anyway, I had no qualm about my Samsung Tab.. But its a tad too big. Like me on the go and had to be discreet sometimes when taking pictures, tab is definitely a no no. But it is great for games and reading my Lite Quran, just nice as a novel. I would also prefer my kids playing games on it as it won't strain their eyes so much like hubby's note.

So, why Grand. Well.. I need two sims (my office and personal sims). Tired of lugging around my blackberry and nokia asha (first gen) and tab. Don't want a too big screen so that I look like talking to a book.. But not a small one so I can read the snowballs of emails while on the move. That why Grand is a must have list for me.

Am buying it from Superbuy. Had a bad experiance with them when I bought my tab, but.. Their offer is too good to resist.. A hundreb buck below published price and a c pen as freebies. Ooo.. I am aiming to just jot notes at meeting on my grand. Been losing most of my hardcopies not actually, haha I am not a tidy person.

Hope I will get it in the next few days. Before weekend hopefully. I will transfer my Pao to the new phone (don't want my Pao to starve in my tab).. Will upload iQuran lite to.. As well as aps for Pocket Budget and MyNetDiary (calories counter).. Ooo and Candy Crush. For the baby Pocoyo and Talking Pocoyo as well as Read Me Stories. Definitely the standard ap FB etc etc.

Hurmm got too much gadgets nowadays. Will definitely keeping the tab for the kiddies. BB will stay at office cabinet. While Asha will give to my mom.

Hehe.. Huhu.. Gotta keep track of my spending lah :P

New Kitchen Cabinet?

Well, since occupying our house.. After 2 years only we been eyeing to build a kitchen cabinet. A simple one but really look nice on the drawing.

Also our washing machine went kaput. It was hubby's company one (ops!) since 2003. Nearly ten years of service. Thank god now washing machine are cheaper, we bought a 10 kg Samsung one at around RM1.2k. I still remember I bought one for mom at around 2K about 10 years ago, and thank god it is still going strong.

What else, our rought DIY hanging for the clothes had collapsed, so add on a wardrobe too!

Wonder how much all these would cost.. Huhuhuhu..

Maggie Ketam Again

No baby Hannah, no my sis. I had work outstation this week so left them at my mom's. Alone and no mood for Bazaar Ramadhan fares, so its maggie ketam again for me.

A quick stop at Giant KT for the ingredient, Mee Sedap Kari (nice and full of condiments), 2 crabs (RM8.. And they don't look all that fresh).. A pack of sawi (RM2) .. Altogether around RM16.. Yeahh.. Ah well, bests buying them in a way cz a meal for two costs me RM50 in Pantai Cahaya Bulan Kelantan.

Well, should be more than enuff for me. More towards eating the crab. As they aren't that fresh, might need to cook the crabs a bit longer I supposed.

Hankering for a Nokia Asha 501

Well, I have always been searching for a dual sim phone. One that caught my eye is the Samsung Galaxy Grand around RM1100 but it came out just a few days after I purchase my Samsung Tab so I been keeping mum.

Apart from the tab, I had the obselete blackberry of my office since around 3 years ago (wow, shelf life of handphones now are really brief) and the first gen of Asha bought around 21 Jun 2012.

Just a bit over a year, I saw the newest Asha offering yesterday. Cute and compact, it just retail at RM299. Wow! Yeah I gotta admit it won't be really great as the note but it will suffice cz I just need its two sims (tired of lugging both the blackberry n nokia asha 1 around), a bit of FB just to vent frustration and record whatever on my mind and browse the internet.. Oo and definitely getting emails notifications). It had a disadvantages tho.. No whatsapp which me and my work circle use quite often nowadays. Anyway it got Bejeweled instead which I quite like rather than Candy Crush that often got me frustrated and now retired at level 147 hehehe..

Anyway, will think for a few days more and will update if I decided at last to get one :)

Many people have this fixation against Proton to the point that even when it comes up with something good they are not willing to give it a try.

WILL you ever get back to that ex-girlfriend who cheated on you with a butch? I did. Kind of.

Actually, what I did was worse. I broke my promise never ever to buy a Proton. I wanted to upgrade my Perodua Alza to a bigger MPV as I have an army of family and friends from Sabah who expect me to drive them around when they visit Greater Kuala Lumpur.

I asked my colleague Andrew Fernandez, who is a motoring writer, which MPV should I get. He recommended Proton Exora Bold. Immediately, I shot down his suggestion, saying I will never ever buy a Proton. “But …,” he said. “No, I will never buy a Proton. I hate it,” I said.

Here’s a brief history of my love-hate relationship with Proton.

When I exchanged my bumpy, underpowered and claustrophobic two-door Suzuki Jimny with a Proton Wira Aeroback, my new car was a joy to drive. I was in love with it as it was faster, less bumpy and had more room than the Jimny.

If you asked me why I had fallen out of love with the Proton, I can’t really pinpoint the reason. Perhaps it was because every few months the power window will become “powerless”. Or was it because my Wira had two accidents. Not Proton’s fault. I blame it on karma. A drunk neighbour rammed it at the back when it was parked outside my house. A few months later, my sober sister had an accident near my house.

I began to hate driving the car. I swore never ever to buy a Proton.

I asked a motoring enthusiast why I hated the Proton.

“There are not many issues with the Proton Wira. Probably it was a combination that you were ‘forced’ to buy a Proton (because of its unfair price advantage) and it was not perfect,” he said.
“Proton has that famous power window problem. I remember covering a press conference by Proton (Group managing director Datuk Seri Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir) and he told a story about him travelling back home in a Proton taxicab from the airport,” he said.
“The driver opened his door instead of winding down his window at a toll booth for fear that the power window mechanism would stop working due to overuse. It took Proton years to fix that power window problem.”

According to The Star’s report in October 2011, Proton Holdings Bhd finally moved to erase any doubt over defective power windows by offering a lifetime warranty for all new Proton models registered from Sept 1, 2011. Syed Zainal said Proton wanted to erase the prevailing stigma that the national car company was synonymous with failing power windows.

“It’s been going on for years and it’s still a negative perception for those who have never even driven or owned a Proton vehicle! “The power window problem was actually fixed quite a while back, around 2006 or 2007. All of our models since then have not had any (power window) problems,” said Syed Zainal.

Now back to the upgrading exercise.

The most obvious and affordable choice was a Nissan Grand Livinia. Early this year, I test-drove it. But it felt as if I was trading a medium-sized girlfriend with a medium-sized girl. I decided against trading in my Alza for a Grand Livinia. I was also not keen on a Toyota Avanza as that MPV has been around.

Last month I asked Andrew, the motoring writer, what MPV should I get since I was not interested in the Grand Livinia and Avanza.

“Proton Exora Bold. Raj owns one,” he said, and he pointed at our colleague Dorairaj Nadason, who has a column in The Star called “Why Not?”. “Many people have this fixation against Proton to the point that even when it comes up with something good they are not willing to give it a try. They should at least try the Exora and see what the car can do.”

Andrew said for the RM80,000 price you were paying, the quality of the Exora Bold ride was worth RM150,000.

“The handling is right on par with the best European MPVs. The turbo, which was introduced a year ago, completes a fun-to-drive package. In a nutshell, for a RM80,000 car, it is punching way above its class,” he said. Dorairaj raved about his new Proton Exora Bold. And I was sold. I decided to take a bold decision and test-drive the MPV.

I felt that the RM80,000 Exora was bigger and faster than my RM65,000 Alza. On that day, I called my favourite car salesman and told him to arrange to trade in my Alza for an Exora Bold.

I’ve been driving the Exora Bold for a week. My weekend drive from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore was a cruise. The 1.6 turbo-charged MPV drove like a 2.0.

My two complaints are that the gear selector lever is loose and it can’t fly. My MPV is about to reach 1,000km and I hope when I send it for servicing, Proton will fix the loose gear selector lever.

Exora Climbing Up Genting

Seems hubby still loves to test the Exora.. last Friday around 12 pm we went for a Genting trip.. thought to stay up there, but all the hotels were fully book, so went down to KL for dinner and sleep then at 9 o'clock Saturday started back to Kerteh, hehe what a crazy trip :)

Hurmm... the fuel indicator is there cz I forgot to refuel at Temerloh R&R when the fuel indicator is stating we have only up to 58 km of fuel.. hubby is happy to give me hard time on it cz I blabber to him as he forgot to fuel up during our Johor trip earlier heheh.. Anyway, when indicator neared the 50 km marks, had to use the Trip button indicator as apparently Exora fuel indicator won't show the mileage below 50 km.. Had quite a tense time as hubby teased me from when the Exora fuel indicator number vanished til we stop at PETRONAS Karak to fuel up, I believe around that time, estimated fuel left would be around 7 - 8 km only heheh :P

Anyway, so we fuelled up to the max, around RM100 and mileage shown when full was 613 km, pheww...

Sorry for the blurry pics, with Hannah harness in from on me like a baby Kangaroo, cant really be a good photographer. Well, think Exora CFE performed beautifully climbing Genting.. of course its not as powerful as hubby's Kia Sorento but its not so bad. It can climb and even overtake others. I even saw an Exora CPS climbing up at ease.. so not so bad. So, this put out the myth that some forumers says that Exora puttered out when climbing Genting.

Yeay! Exora pass the test again. Thinking of climbing the Cameron and off to Penang next :)

Exora Fuel Consumption

Fuelling up at Petronas Bandar Baru yesterday.. Half a tank at RM50 gives est 320 km. Full tank would be around 640.

That would mean:-
A trip from Kerteh - Bt Payung (my weekend home) 100 km
B.Payung - KT 5 days a week.. 20@2@5: 200 km..
Bt Payung Kerteh again 100km
That'll be 400 km..

Balance 240.. A trip to KT and another around 3 days to work.. So for me, a full tank RM100 would mean 1.5 weeks usage. Not bad I'll say. For me, using gas guzzling old Sportage and a bit economical 1.8cc old Peugout, its not so bad.

Ooo.. And I am only using RON95.. Its cheaper and also unleaded, just what Exora need unleaded fuel. Don't think I want to spend Ron97 for the Exora.

Think hubby enjoy the driving experiance of Exora too. Been hinting about going to KL before fasting months start. I am not so keen, being an avid traveller myself due to work.. But, why not eh?! :)

First Exora Service @ 1400 km

Well, actually it shoulda be at 1000 km but apparently Kerteh - JB - Legolang - Seremban - KL - Kerteh is more than that haha..

Hubby did most of the drivings. People said to preserve the engine, the first 1000 km should be driven at 100km/h only. Well, I drill that to hubby but he only managed to disicpline himself the first 100 km.. Then usual 110 - 120 and then reaching 140 at @ PLUS.

Well, overall I am satisfied with the Exora, big space, ample rooms and lotsa nooks and crannies to store small items and drinks, really an advantage when you have kiddies with their small toys, snacks and drinks.

I drove Exora a bit on the way to Seremban. I must say, good power. You wouldn't realise that you could get up to 120 soo quickly, and a bit heavier on the pedal would get you up at 140 with no effort. However, when you slowed down and then need to push the pedal suddenly, I must say I did feel the engine strains a bit.

So, the first service cost RM140, it might cost more but hubby being a bit frugal decline the engine oil treatment stating it is still new, so we saved around RM50 there. The complaint about Proton Service Centre is unfortunately true. Tho the frontman at the SC we went to is cool and nice, the first registration as it was our first time servicing the Exora took 30 mins. Then, another 2.5 hours until we got our Exora back.

They did asked us if we had problems with our Exora, and acted surprised at taken aback when we said all are well. Make me curious that perhaps there are some unfortunates that had problem with their Exora. Alhamdulillah, thank god ours is tiptop.

We did thought that the reverse camera look a bit unaligned but apparently, all exora are like that.

What else.. Well the buttons on the steering wheel is just ok. For searching stations, changing mode, volume and bluetooth for the phones, nothing fancy.

When we got back the Exora, is was raining a bit, so yeah its true, Exora is a bit noisy when it rains, the roof sounded like tin roof. Ooo, also as the engine is turbo, there are a bit of woowoo sound when we shut the engine.. The fan is cooling down the engine. I read in the forum that this makes the Exora too noisy, but I had experiance hubby's diesel powered Sorento, trust me Sorento is noisier.

What else, hurmmm I also like Exora fuel economy. Our trip to Johor would be around RM250 or 2.5 tanks. Yeah diesel is cheaper but its still better than my new Peugeout. For RM80, I would usually get 2 trips KT Kerteh and to anf fro my office for five days so that would be 115@2+15*10 so 250 + 150 aka 400 km. Ops, actually for RM80 Exora stated it could go around 480.. Ah well.. Its a big car.

In the Exora now, aiming for our first destination Segamat. Overall, am satisfied with Exora with hubby as driver, Kimi as co captain, my mom and I and baby Hannah on the 2nd row and Haikal conquering the last seat.

Exora is spacious, ample leg room for the 2nd row. Haven't tried the 3rd myself but for Kimi and Haikal its ample space. The dvd is just ok. We got the Exora Bold so there's leather seat, a good thing for us with young kids, esp with the splashes of milk, snack foods and sometime barfs.

The reverse parking camera is also a plus. However, still need to use our parking skill first as it didn't account for side obstacles.

Radio and sound is just fair. Seats are fairly comfy (will update you later after I finished the 8 hours drive).

The dashboard is definitely boring. Jz functional, and nothing special. Quite like the led lighted display actually, so the meter is easily read. Also there's a meter stating how many km left with fuel. With full fuel, it states 450 km. We shall see if its a fuel saver machine.
