Manufacturing jobs returning to America. Ha, wonder what brought this on? Oh, I know, greed was the reason they left, and greed is the reason they are returning.

The following news was reported early this morning:

"According to the Boston Consulting Group, salaries in China are growing 15% to 20% per year. The IMF says that as recently as 1990, average per capital income in China was $350. By 2000, this figure had tripled to $1000, then hit $3,000 in 2008. Today, even a lowly Foxconn worker bee makes perhaps $5,500 a year, and experts project Chinese wages could reach First World levels of $20,000 per person by 2030."

It grass always looks greener on the other side of the fence. Our manufacturers jump ship when they though they could make a larger profit. Now that the Chinese are learning more about increasing their wages, they are coming back home.

No, problem, I am sure Americans are happy to see them. And I hope the return is not like the return of the Oakland Raiders to Oakland, after the owner, Al Davis, moved them to Los Angeles.

When they returned, it took years for Oakland to warm up to them again. So if Americans don't warm up to the returned manufacturing companies fast enough, I wonder if they will pack up and move to India?

It takes a moment to rebuild trust, after someone or a large company has left you. You still remember the heart break and the disappointment. And when they return, you want to trust and be friendly, but it takes time. Lets hope the US manufacturing companies understand the delay in affection.

And after the president's speech on Monday night, if Congress follows his suggestions, companies who remain offshore will pay a lot more taxes, then those who return home, and those who never left in the first place.

It's strange, yet understandable, money seems to be the motivation for every major decision. I hope the American people don't wake up and decided to make a few changes of their own, based on the bottom line.

How Small Companies Become Big Companies Without Borrowing Money?

When I first started in the business of Invoice Lines of Credit, it was because a tax client was in a financial jam, but he had over $50,000 worth of Invoices from a major company on his desk.
