You need to go to the U.S. Department of Education website and apply for your PIN number at www.pin.ed.gov. The PIN number allows you to sign your FAFSA electronically. It also allows you to make any corrections via the internet once you receive your SAR (Student Aid Report). Both student and parent need to apply separately for their own PIN. You can apply for your PIN number at anytime, even before January 1st. That will be your PIN number for your entire time in college.

Andrea Lieberman gives tips for students and parents for preparing for the financial aid process.

Financial Aid Tips:

Everyone should apply for financial aid. Don’t assume you won’t be eligible. File the FAFSA or CSS PROFILE. There is both need based and non-need based financial aid. Low to middle income families usually qualify for need based grants and loans. Higher income families may always borrow non-need based loans up to the cost of attendance even if they do not qualify for need based loans and grants.

Meet all deadlines. File your FAFSA as early as possible. Be sure to check with the financial aid office of the schools you’re applying to for their deadline for financial aid to qualify for the most aid possible. Financial aid is given out on a first come first served basis.

Comply with all requests made by the financial aid office. The financial aid office may request additional paperwork including tax returns and schedules, verification forms or other documents.

Make your college aware of special circumstances. If your parent has lost their job since completing the FAFSA or Profile, inform schools about your situation. Most have standard policies that allow the use of projected income, which could increase the amount of financial assistance.

Keep copies of everything for your records.

FAFSA Renewal – Reapply every year for financial aid.

Hello to parents of college bound high school seniors across the USA!

This website is devoted to helping you smoothly and successfully complete the financial aid process. Nobody likes filling out tedious forms such as tax returns and financial aid forms, which can be confusing, a time consuming process and stressful because you could lose out on money if you make a mistake. I am prepared to work with clients one-on-one either in person, over the internet, or via telephone appointment across the country.

My name is Andrea Lieberman, a financial aid professional who has spent her entire career assisting a large and diverse population of students and their families understand the financial aid process and finance their education to make their collegiate dreams become a reality.

Why choose Andrea?

My career has spanned more than two decades. I have worked both as a financial aid director/ administrator at various colleges and as an education loan representative for several banks.

I am here to assist your family quickly and effortlessly in preparing your FAFSA or CSS Profile Form and other financial aid paperwork. I have the experience of completing the FAFSA thousands of times before and I have never had an experience where someone did not qualify for some form of financial aid, even if it is non-need based. That is a 100% success rate.

I can assure you that every line will be completed accurately which means that when you receive your financial aid award, it will also be accurate. In addition to form preparation, I will educate you on understanding credit and borrowing for college as well as recommend loan products. I will help you compare financial aid packages to select the best college for your money.
