When a U.K. police station posted a fugitive's mugshot on its Facebook page, the cheeky lad wrote in from his personal account: "Catch me if u can."

"In the past it's taken us several weeks to get a hold of him," Inspector Umer Khan, who runs the department's Facebook page, told NBC News.

But the very next day, the runner, 19-year-old Sam Greenwood, was spotted and arrested by a squad car out on patrol.

Before the police had deleted Greenwood's mug from Facebook — standard procedure once a perp had been caught — the shot had gathered 82 "Likes." "Underneath that thread there were comments from his mates, saying 'Go on Sam,' and other bravado-type comments," Khan said. In response, once they'd arrested him, Khan replied to his note on police department's official page: "Caught you. Do not pass Go, do not collect £200, go straight to jail."

Some Facebook readers from the area (and abroad) were tickled by the exchange and Monopoly reference, Khan said. "A lot of people have sent messages saying it brought a smile to them, and showed that the police have a sense of humor."

But at least one commenter called the retort unprofessional. Khan replied that "the Monopoly-themed comment was a spur of the moment thing" that was removed soon after it was posted. "I said to that, it's a fair comment and it's constructive," he explained to NBC News. So even though he deleted his own words, Khan has chosen to leave up the critical commentary, and is letting people "have their opinion on the issue."

The aspiring Frank Abagnale (Remember that Leonardo DiCaprio movie?), Greenwood, was arrested in January for a driving infraction, and served four months at the Young Offenders Institute. He attracted the attention of the police when he skipped out on appointments at the Rochdale Probation Service and broke the conditions of his release.

Florida Teacher Suspended For Touching Female Student With Banana

A North Marion High teacher was suspended for three days without pay this week on accusations he touched a student in the head with a banana, according to School District documents.

The parents of the student contacted the district because they felt the teacher, Jonathan Hampton, crossed a line during discussions about the Freudian implications of "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest."

The incident was reported by the girl's parents on May 6, about three months after it occurred.

The attorney said Hampton — who had gotten the banana at lunch — tapped the student with it to get her attention.

"There was nothing else to it," Fiedelholtz said, adding no student in the class complained about the incident during the months afterwards.

The district concluded that the teacher-student contact warranted the reprimand and suspension for professional misconduct.

School District spokesman Kevin Christian said "Freudian" discussion is part of the curriculum in the college-level course.

Deputy Superintendent Rick Lankford wrote in the reprimand that Hampton used poor judgment by using "a banana to make physical contact with a student during a discussion on cylinder objects, phalluses and/or sex symbols."

A Colombian thief botched his getaway by running into the path of a bus after stealing a woman's mobile phone at a station.

The would-be robber was hit by the moving bus and fell between the vehicle and the glass doors of an exit at the station in Bogota, Colombia.

He received medical attention and was treated for minor injuries.

His victim recovered her phone and helped him out from under the bus.

The mugging took place earlier this month and was caught on CCTV, which had been programmed with the wrong date.

According to police, the mugger had a history of theft and was prosecuted after leaving hospital.

His accomplices were also captured just hours after the episode.

A Papa John's delivery man has been arrested for allegedly selling more than $40,000 in cocaine hidden in pizza boxes to undercover police officers he met near his home and outside the Brooklyn restaurant where he works, prosecutors said. Ramon Rodriguez, 45, was charged Wednesday with multiple counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance and one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Prosecutors say Rodriguez allegedly sold cocaine to undercover officers 19 times since the fall of 2011.

He was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly sold $27,500 worth of cocaine hidden in a bag with pizza and chicken nuggets to an undercover officer outside the Fifth Avenue store where he works in Sunset Park.

Rodriguez often wore his Papa John's uniform when he sold the drugs, prosecutors said. Authorities found $4,500 in cash and drug paraphernalia, including a scale and packaging material, during a search of his home.

Prosecutors say a small bag of cocaine was also recovered from his car.

A second suspect, Jonathan Martinez, was also arrested Wednesday in connection with the drug dealing. Prosecutors say Martinez, 28, sold 40 grams of cocaine for $1,200 to an undercover officer in November 2011; Rodriguez allegedly set up the meeting.

Aftab Aslam may have failed his Georgia Gwinnett College English class (twice), but he definitely earned an A in "Faking Your Own Kidnapping, Worrying the Hell Out of Your Parents, and Wasting Police Resources: 101".

In order to take the sting out of his failing grade, police say that the 19-year-old college student first purchased a mobile phone from Target (a burner for those in the know, like Aslam) on April 24. Three days later, he texted his parents saying that their son had been kidnapped and would be killed if police were contacted.

Naturally, his parents informed police anyway, and the FBI was brought in for an "intensive investigation." But authorities were unable to locate the kidnapped-kidnapper, who allegedly lived in a tent in an open field for eight days. When the weather became cold and wet, Aslam abandoned the field (but not the pretense) and returned home telling his parents he had been drugged and held captive.

"It appears he thought the relief of his being returned would stop his parents being angry when he eventually told them about his grades," the Daily Mail reports.

Aslam now faces three felony counts for making false statements, three felony counts for tampering with evidence, and three felony counts for making terroristic threats.

A 19-year-old suspected burglar continues to recover after Palm Bay police said he was beaten, kicked and shot with a stun gun by victims defending their residence as he and at least three other companions attempted to carry out a home invasion.

Michael Maxwell of Palm Bay was charged with one count of home invasion robbery with a firearm or deadly weapon and four counts of battery after police were called about 1 a.m. Wednesday to a home in the 700 block of Monterey Drive to investigate a disturbance.

He was held on a $51,000 bond at the Brevard County Jail Complex in Sharpes, records show. Police also arrested a 17-year-old companion of Maxwell on the same charges.

Police said that several men, who arrived at the home in a gold 2004 Chevrolet Malibu, stormed the home but that the victims in the residence managed to fight off the attack.

Maxwell, who police said works as a tattoo artist, was taken to Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne for treatment of his injuries sustained after he was repeatedly kicked, Tased and struck by the victims, reports show.

Investigators say they have arrested a South Carolina man, accusing him of stealing money from his grandmother, along with her electric wheelchair.

Orangeburg County sheriff's deputies say 43-year-old Richard Fleener II will have a bond hearing Monday. He is charged with abuse of a vulnerable adult.

Authorities say Fleener was living with his 78-year-old grandmother from November until February, when he stole so much money from her that her power was shut off for several days.

Investigators say Fleener also stole her wheelchair, television and window air conditioning unit.

After school bus driver Patrice Sanders drove her usual route Thursday, picking up kids from three Bartow schools, she heard two girls, ages 13 and 16, feuding. She said: “This is going to be handled today and they just need to fight,” according to an arrest affidavit from the Polk County Sheriff's Office.

Sanders then drove the school bus to her Lakeland home - reportedly skipping all stops she was supposed to make - and ordered all the kids to get off the bus. She then offered to get the feuding girls Vaseline or baby oil to put on their faces so they wouldn’t get scratched during the fight, according to the affidavit.

Even after the 13-year-old told Sanders that she did not want to fight, Sanders went into the house to get the Vaseline and baby oil, which she couldn't find, deputies said.

The girls then had a fistfight in Sanders’ front yard, with Sanders and the students watching. One child taped the fight on a cellphone. The girls fought until they decided to quit. Sanders stood by and watched, according to the Sheriff's Office.

After the brawl, Sanders ordered the kids back onto the bus and set off. Once the bus was rolling, the girls began brawling again.

Sanders pulled over and watched them fight until they were done, then told all the students that “what happens on the bus, stays on the bus.” She then drove them home, the report stated.

The mother of the 13-year-old reported the incident to deputies that evening and took her daughter to a hospital. The teen did not have any serious injuries.

Later that evening, after detectives interviewed the girls, they arrested Sanders and charged her with false imprisonment; child abuse; child neglect and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

A 14-year-old boy is in the hospital, and his mother could wind up facing charges after he was shot in the leg by an older friend who lives at their home.

The shooting happened Tuesday evening at a home in the 10400 block of 27th Street in Santa Fe. Police say shortly before 2am, the 14-year-old was taken to Mainland Center Hospital, but when officers investigated they learned the boy had been wounded seven hours earlier.

Police say video showed Pete Jesse Rodriguez, 23, was playing with a gun and pointed it directly at the teen. As he pointed the weapon, police say the teen moved and Rodriguez tracked him with the pistol, eventually pulling the trigger. The victim was shot once in the upper left thigh with a high caliber bullet. The teen lay on the floor for several minutes before getting up.

According to police, it was only after looking up gunshots on Web MD that the teen and his mother decided to drive him to the hospital. After initial treatment at Mainland Center, the victim was transported to Hermann Hospital where he remains in stable condition.

Officers and detectives went to the home and after a brief delay, arrested Rodriguez for allegedly making false statements. Santa Fe police charged Rodriguez with one count of injury to a child with intent to commit serious bodily injury. Rodriguez is being held on bonds totaling $151,500. The investigation is ongoing.

Investigators are also reviewing possible felony charges against the boy's mother for injury to a child by omission.

Reports of a natural gas smell sparked the evacuation of several buildings in downtown Great Falls on Wednesday morning, but it turns out scratch-and-sniff cards were to blame and not a widespread gas leak.

Nick Bohr, general manager at Energy West, said workers at the company were cleaning out some storage areas and discarded several boxes of scratch-and-sniff cards that it has sent out to customers in the past to educate them on what a natural gas smells like.

“They were expired, and they were old,” Bohr said. “They threw them into the Dumpsters.”

When they were picked up by sanitation trucks and crushed, “it was the same as if they had scratched them.” Workers were still downtown checking for possible gas leaks at noon “to make sure two things didn’t happen at once.” Workers followed the garbage trucks out to the dump and went through those loads of garbage after they were dumped.

“There’s no problem with contamination,” he said, and the smell samples “can be buried with normal garbage.” He said 25,000 of the samples were sent out at one time.

Bohr said the company apologizes for the problem, especially since the smelly culprits originally were just part of a process to make everything safer.

“In a sense, it worked the way it was supposed to,” Bohr said of the numerous calls reporting gas leaks.

Elton Kim isn't a Hollywood stuntman, but you wouldn't know it based on the video he gave Channel 2 Action News that shows him clinging to the hood of a car speeding down Holcomb Bridge Road.

“Very dangerous,” the Roswell dry cleaner told Channel 2’s Mike Petchenik of the situation. “I’m lucky, very lucky.”

Kim told Petchenik the situation unfolded two weeks ago when he tried to confront a woman who had just backed into his wife’s SUV in the parking lot outside his dry cleaners.

“I said ‘Stop it’ three times,” he said. “Then, I go to the front of the car.”

Instead of stopping, Kim said the woman accelerated into him, and his instinct was to jump on the hood. As horrified witnesses watched, Kim said the woman took off down Holcomb Bridge Road for nearly 2 miles.

“He could have been really hurt had he slipped off,” said his wife, Theresa. “I don’t think she intentionally wanted to hurt him, but for some reason she never stopped to say she was sorry.”

Roswell police told Petchenik they intend to charge the driver with felony aggravated assault, if and when they find her. Police said her car had out-of-state plates, which, according to Kim, were from Alabama.

“The detective is getting together a lineup to help positively identify the driver so she can take out warrants,” said Officer Lisa Holland.

Holland said while police don’t condone the driver’s behavior, they also want to discourage citizens from taking matters into their hands.

“We do not want people to stand in front of a car to prevent it from leaving,” said Holland. “Just get a description of the driver, the car, the tag number and let police do their job.”

Kim said he was shaken by the incident, but thankful he wasn't seriously hurt or killed.

“I’m healthy and it’s not a problem, so now it’s OK,” he said.

Albert Bykov, 34, wanted to impress guests with his party trick and asked Alexey Ponamarev, 28, to tilt his head backwards over the bar.

He set the cocktail alight and began tipping it into his mouth but the flames rushed downwards and engulfed his face.

Alexey’s girlfriend Anfisa Kirillova, 23, who filmed the incident, is heard screaming as the dangerous stunt goes wrong.

The victim was rushed to hospital last Sunday where doctors treated him for severe burns.

Barman Albert – who works at the Harat bar in Novosibirsk, Russia – claimed he had performed the stunt dozens of times before without injury.

He said: “I usually carry it out with Sambuca but the guest insisted that I try the absinthe version and the guest is always right – but unfortunately it had negative consequences for him.

“It was also his fault because he put his hand over his mouth and that splashed the liquid everywhere.”

The victim is now demanding thousands of pounds in compensation and has handed the video to police as evidence.

Dramatic CCTV footage of the incident in Mount Warren Park, southeast of Brisbane, has been posted online and shows the woman in a small pink top filling up a red hatchback while a member of staff checks the vehicle's number plates.

The driver, apparently spooked by having the rego plates checked, suddenly tries to drive away with the fuel pump tube still lodged inside the vehicle's petrol tank.

The tube catches the woman, flinging her high into the air and several metres to her left.

She lands hard on the ground before dashing into the car, which quickly drives away.

With the fuel pipe snapped from the bowser, petrol gushes across the Caltex forecourt as the clearly terrified member of staff grabs a fire extinguisher.

It's understood fire and rescue crews were called to make the area safe.

Queensland Police said they were trying to trace the woman and the driver of the car.

“Investigations are continuing and there's no charges,” a police spokesman said.

Officers are treating the incident, which happened last week, as a case of alleged dangerous driving and petrol theft.

Logan District Inspector Darren Harland told News Ltd that drive-off petrol thefts were a huge problem in the region, with stolen number plates attached to some cars involved.

The owner of the Caltex petrol station, Shane Jacobson, said some culprits stole up to $90 of fuel at a time.

“It does cost us a hell of a lot of money,” he added.

A man is in jail after he robbed a Satellite Beach credit union so he could pay for a Disney cruise trip, according to Florida Today.

After driving from Charlotte, N.C., to Satellite Beach for the cruise with his girlfriend and her two children, Cedrick Royce Swinson realized he could not come up with the final balance owed for the tickets and felt pressured to take them on the trip, said the report.

The robbery happened at the Navy Federal Credit Union in the Atlantic Shopping Plaza at Scorpion Lane and State Road A1A, according to Florida Today.

There were no injuries police released Swinson's girlfriend after determining that she did not know about his plan, the newspaper said.

Swinson is charged with robbery without a firearm or weapon, grand theft and driving on a suspended license, according to Brevard County jail records.

An Oregon psychiatrist pleaded guilty Wednesday and was sentenced to 30 days in jail for planting booby traps along national forest trails outside Ashland.

Dr. Jackson Dempsey apologized to the mountain bikers, who suffered minor injuries, but he did not explain what led him to string nylon cords across the trails, and put nails and small trees in the path, the Associated Press reports.

Judge Lorenzo Mejia also banned Dempsey from national forest trails for the two years he is on probation, the AP reports.

“That was an important piece” of the plea agreement, said Deputy District Attorney Alisa Ray. “It was a good resolution that met the needs of the cycling community.”

Ms. Ray said reports indicated Dempsey walked his dog on the trails and didn’t like the mountain bikers who regularly rode by.

Jarvis Sutton said he wanted three things Sunday: food, drink, and drugs. He asked the wrong people for help getting those items, though.

Police said Sutton, 34, of St. Petersburg, called 911 approximately 80 times on Sunday. "The defendant admitted to calling 911 because he 'wanted Kool-Aid, burgers and weed to be delivered to him,' " an officer wrote in an affidavit.

Sutton never got those things. Instead, he was booked into the Pinellas County Jail. On the way there, he started chewing foam attached to the metal caging in the back of the police cruiser, an officer wrote.

Sutton faces a charge of misusing the 911 system, and was in jail Tuesday in lieu of $150 bail.

A Columbus, Ohio woman found that her HTC Evo Shift had branded her after overheating while it was under her waistband. The woman, Jennifer Grago, reported that she was using the phone’s FM radio while she did yard work.

“I didn’t have pockets so I just put the phone in the band of my sweats. Seemed like an alright option… I felt my phone getting warm so I moved it and trucked on. Figured sweatpants and 70 some degrees was a factor. Went to move it again and it hurt like a #%&@! and skin with it. I swear to god I almost passed out,” she wrote.

Best Buy, where she purchased the phone, told her that phones need “correct ventilation” and should be placed in form-fitting casing.

The phone left a clear outline of the casing on her skin. Phones, which are in essence compact radios, can easily overheat for various reasons but for a device to overheat so egregiously is frightening. The phone is two years old and is currently available for free with contract on Sprint’s network.

German society has traditionally had a relaxed attitude to sex, but illustrations in the book "Where do you come from?" (Wo kommst du her?) – which show a couple in various stages of arousal – have led to concern from parents that they are too explicit for young children.

A spokesman for the book's publisher Loewe Verlag said it had been discontinued because it was thought that such explicit detail was no longer appropriate. She noted that the book had been drawn up in conjunction with a family planning organization.

Instead, the publisher is replacing it with a less explicit book by the same illustrator titled "Was I in Mummy's Stomach, Too?" Concerns were most recently raised by parents at a primary school in the Kreuzberg district of Berlin.

A Pennsauken woman who allegedly duped friends and supporters into holding fund-raisers for her son, who she claimed had cancer, was charged Thursday with theft by deception and endangering the welfare of a child, police said.

Susan Stillwaggon's 9-year-old son had been sick, but the boy does not have cancer, said Pennsauken Sgt. Cheryl Duffy.

But Stillwaggon told her son, officials at his school, her husband, and others that the youngster had stage-3 Hodgkin's lymphoma, authorities said. Police verified from medical records that the boy did not have the disease.

Authorities said Stillwaggon pocketed at least $3,500 from the fund-raisers that friends and soccer parents in a township youth league held during the last two months. Duffy said police were trying to figure out the exact amount.

Stillwaggon is married with four children, police said. She was also charged with forgery and using a child to commit a criminal offense.

Police said Stillwaggon is hospitalized, but declined to give further information.

CBS3 reported that a woman who answered the door Thursday at Stillwaggon's home and identified herself as Stillwaggon's mother said her daughter was in a psychiatric ward. A man who answered the phone at Stillwaggon's home Thursday declined to comment.

Supporters sold cupcakes, necklaces, and Live-strong bracelets, among other things. A bingo fund-raiser held Sunday at the Playdrome in Cherry Hill raised $1,200, Duffy said.

A University of Florida student was arrested for a Saturday incident in which he was wandering around naked, making random statements about God and, first, telling people not to cut off his penis and then to cut it off, Gainesville police reported.

Michael Joseph Silecchia, 19, who lives on campus, also yelled that he had done acid — the drug LSD. He was charged Monday with battery on a medical care provider, battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting an officer.

The incident occurred about 1:25 a.m. at the Campus Club apartments at 4000 SW 37th Blvd. Police were called about a suspicious person and found Silecchia wandering around. As police arrived he began taking off his clothes and was naked as he mumbled and made random statements, the arrest report states.

Silecchia was told several times to dress himself, but refused, the report states. He tried to walk away from police and was physically restrained, prompting a struggle with police.

Police got Silecchia to the ground, but he punched an officer in the head. He was Tased about six times with no effect, the report states.

Eventually Silecchia was taken to Shands at the University of Florida, where he spit on employees, police reported.

Police in Florida said a couple caught trying to steal $2,388 worth of baby formula from a Walmart made about $90,000 by selling formula from previous thefts.

Palm Springs police said Sonya Barbour, 32, and fiance Glenn Martin, 31, had their 9-month-old baby with them when they were arrested at 3:40 a.m. Thursday at a Walmart store in Palm Springs, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported Monday.

Investigators said Barbour and Martin were attempting to leave the store with $2,388 worth of baby formula concealed under a blanket in their shopping cart.

Both said they have pain-pill addictions, with Barbour spending about $90 per day on drugs and Martin spending up to $125 per day.

Martin told investigators he has been stealing baby formula for about six months and has netted about $90,000 from selling it, police said.

Barbour and Martin were both charged with fraud, shoplifting, organized dealing in stolen property and child neglect. Martin was held in lieu of $43,000 bond and Barbour's bond was set at $35,000.

Their baby was turned over to the Florida Department of Children and Families, police said.
