Here are our top tips for selling domain names. By following our recommendations you should be able to improve your chances for success.

Identify potential buyers first!

The first thing you need to do is identify who might be looking for the domain names you want to sell. That may seem obvious but many beginners buy up domain names that they believe can be sold in the future for a profit.

It's important to find out what people are actually looking to buy rather than what you think will sell. Buying domains for resale without knowing if there's a market or not is an almost sure path to failure.

We've seen it many times. Someone buys a domain because they think it's worth a lot of money to someone only to find out nobody actually wants to buy it!

For example, in one instance we know of a person that bought the .net version of what looked like a popular term that would be easy to sell. Afterall, the .com version was on the first page of all the major search engines.

However, after further investigation, the seller found out that the domain name was a trademarked term! In addition, anyone looking for that name would type in the .com version nearly every time so the .net version got little to no search traffic.

Specialize!

Do your research and find niche markets where you can obtain multiple domain names to sell.

Look for location specific domain names or specific market related names such as insurance, law, weight loss, dating, etc. Then, using tip #1 above, find out who the big names are in those niches.

With a little research you should be able to find potential buyers looking to acquire portfolios of domain names related to the same topic or niche.

In almost every niche there will be a few big players that would be more than happy to buy domain names from you if you have done your research and found good names related to their niche.

Selling domain names is no different than selling any other type of product or service. You need to do your research and make sure there's a market for what you're selling! Just because you "think" a domain name is great doesn't mean it actually is great.

By identifying buyers first, and then specializing in niche domains, your chances of success in selling domain names greatly improves!

There are many variations of this domain name scam but the goal is always the same whether you intent to sell a domain or not. Its only purpose is to seperate you from your money.

It's called the "I'm interested in buying your domain" scam and it works like this.

The most common method used is where you receive an unsolicited email from what appears to be a company interested in buying one or more of your domain names.

It can be an exciting feeling when you receive an email from what appears to be an established business wanting to buy your domain name. Unfortunately, this is exactly the emotion that these scammers are looking to take advantage of.

The email often goes something like this:

Dear Webmaster,

It has come to our attention that you are the rightful owner of yourdomain.com

On behalf of a privately held domain investment firm i would like to know if you are interested in selling this domain name?

Our company has more than 10 years experience in the domain brokering industry and see a potential value in your name. We value a fast and easy communication.

If you are interested in selling yourdomain.com, please send an email to: xxxxx@xxxxxx.net with subject line "Interested in selling yourdomain.com" including your asking price and prefered payment method for further considerations.

Thank you.

Regards,

Scammer

So, you get even more excited, reply with a price, and are thrilled when they promptly accept the price! But in order to "protect themselves", they ask you to get a professional appraisal. If the domain appraises at an amount near the price you quoted they promise to pay that price.

They are even provide you with a link to an appraisal site and a forum where people are raving about this great service. The site, forum and everything associated with it is all fake of course.

Their goal is to get you to order an appraisal. Once you do that, you'll never hear from them again. They've got your money and are on to the next victim.

Pay attention to this warning:

NO LEGITIMATE BUYER will ask you to get an appraisal first!

If someone is interested in your domain, THEY will get an appraisal on their own if they're really interested in your domain. Or, they already know what the domain is worth to them and be more than willing to pay a fair price for it.

If a buyer really wanted an appraisal, the best way to respond is to tell them to get their own appraisal from a place that they know and trust and you can always deduct their cost from the purchase price.

There are also many legitimate buyers who might approach you out of the blue and ask to buy your domain name. It can happen fairly often, especially if you are in the business of buying and selling domains.

It that ever happens, take the time to do your own research before responding to the request. Search their email address in Google, search their name, their company name, their URL, phone number and whatever other information they have provided to you. It doesn't take much checking to find out if you're dealing with a scammer or not.

So, remember, NEVER purchase an appraisal in hopes of selling your domain. Nearly all legitimate buyers will know what they are willing to pay you regardless of any appraisal.

Finally, if you're looking for a great way to sell domains where you're always in control of the entire process, see how the professionals do it and how you can too here.

Automating Your Search

Searching for a keyword-rich domain name can be a pain and take up a lot of your time. Often, most of that effort will be spent looking at dozens of result screens indicating "Domain Not Available".

To make that task easier, there are several automated solutions you can choose from. One of those solutions is a domain name generator that could be a desktop software program or a web based tool.

If you're not familiar with a domain name generator, they are typically a program that will generate a list of domain names by inserting a list of keywords related to a particular theme or category.

Once the program has generated a list of potential domain names based on various combinations of the keywords, it will then search one of more domain registrars to see if the name is available.

Since the generator’s primary function is to generate a list of desirable and available domain names, the time it takes to find good names is significantly reduced.

One of the easiest to use tools is Eric (The Toolinator) Giguere's program called "Find Me A Domain".

Using this program you can keyword-rich domain names in two simple steps. Just paste in your keyword list and click on the "Find Me A Domain" button.

This domain name generator program will search for any available top-level domain names using any combination of prefixes or suffixes added to your keywords. You can even search using dashes in the name. Just check off the options you need and run the program.

To see all of the features included in this popular tool and see how easy it is to use, click this link: Find Me A Domain

	Done-For-You Search

Another option for finding good available domain names is using a service where all the work is done for you.

Some of these services simply provide lists of current domain names that are available for sale. Additional services you might want to consider are domain brokers who maintain a list of names for you to buy or you can search for individuals selling their excessive domain names on auction sites or marketing forums.

But, one hybrid site offers you the best of both worlds, especially if your looking to market domain names in addition to buying them for your own use.

The Domain Profits Club not only provides you with a list of top quality domain names to buy, you're also given your own website where you can sell those domains. And, the best part of it all is that you keep the profits from everything you sell.

It's a simple process really. You promote your included domain selling site and when visitors are interested in any of your available names, they make you an offer. YOU determine how much you want to sell for. The best part is you don't even have to invest in an inventory of domain names. Everything is provided for you.

The other great thing about this service is that these domain names are available for you to purchase yourself whenever you see one that fits your current market or matches a web site you want to build.

You can see how it all works by clicking this link: Domain Profits Club

Ok, you may have already heard that it's possible to make money buying and selling domain names but you're not really sure how it all works. So, to help you out, we've put together this short, simple overview of the domaining business.

The domain name industry is one of the hottest online businesses today where more and more individuals learn how to buy and sell domains for a profit everyday.

Domaining, as it's called, is the process of buying, selling, developing, or monetizing Internet domain names. Marketers dealing in domain names are known as Domainers. Income from marketing domains come from several different methods including domain parking, domain (website) development, or from simply reselling them.

Let's take a look at each of these methods for profiting from domains.

Buying/Selling Domain Names

In its simplest form, the easiest way to begin domaining is by searching for unused, expired, or "for sale" domain names. Then, you purchase those domains and just resell them for more than you paid. It may sound easy but the trick is to find good names that other webmasters or businesses are looking for.

Domain Parking / Forwarding

If you already own one or more domain names that are currently unused, another way to earn income from them is to "park" or "forward" the domain.

You can park your domain name with a parking service. That simply means that you point your domain to a webpage on the parking service's server. These services then pay you a percentage of the advertising revenue that is earned from the advertisements that will be placed on the "parked" page. Also, many of these parking services offer a listing service where your domain can be placed for resale.

It's also possible for you to make your own parked web page where you create a one-page website that displays ads. In this instance you could receive 100% of the ad revenue.

Forwarding your domain is a related function that can also earn a little income for your idle domain names. One way to do that is to sign up for affiliate offers and then set up a redirect page on your domain which is then "forwarded" to the offer. When a visitor comes to your web page they are immediately forwarded on to a sales page for an offer that you could earn commissions from.

Domain Development

With this income method you could create an actual web site for your domain name. Typically, these sites are built with content related to the actual domain name. For example, if you had a domain name based on selling digital cameras, you would create a web site with articles, images, ads, and products about digital cameras.

You can develop these sites to sell products and services for commissions or they can be created with the intention of selling the entire site once you've finished building them.

Things To Watch Out For

Although there are many ways to make money in the domain name business, there are also a number ways that can result in your losing a lot of money.

One of the most important things to determine before buying any domain name is to make sure you're not purchasing one that contains a tradmarked name. You can quickly find yourself in serious trouble from the trademark holder with domain names containing trademarked terms. So, do your research before buying or registering any domain name.

As with any product in any market, one sure way to lose money is to pay too much for the domain. The goal is to make a profit from buying and selling domain names but that won't happen if you payed too much or if the market determines that the domain isn't worth as much as you thought it was.

And, there's alway the possiblilty of getting scammed by ‘email’ offers, fake buyers or other types of frauds such as check fraud or other variations of payment fraud.

Hopefully, this brief overview has given you a better understanding of the domaining business and how it's possible to make money from domain names. Future articles will go into more detail on how this exciting and profitable businesss works. So, be sure to check back often for more training and information on learning to buy and sell domain names.

Most are usually a short eBook rehashing what others have done in the past.

However, a few can actually be really useful and worthwhile. But, how do you know the difference between a really good business model and the typical rehashed garbage? Especially in a field as competitive as domaining.

Well, when it comes to buying and selling domains, the Domain Profits Club is the one you really need to take a close look at.

This "Business-in-a-Box" private membership is the creation of expert domainer Gene Pimentel. What the Domain Profits Club has done is help people start their own domain flipping business by creating a complete, ready to go, business that you can have running within minutes.

Three unique features distinguish the Domain Profits Club from everything else you have probably seen or heard about buying and selling domain names for profit.

Those 3 important and unique features are:

Complete, customizable turn-key website with easy to follow instructions;

Your very own portfolio of 500 or more carefully selected domain names that you can sell for 100% of the profit, and

You simply accept offers and payments, and then send the purchased domains to your customers. Domain Profits Club handles everything else!

So, let's take a look at each one of those features individually.

First, you get an automatically updating fully functional website pre-stocked with over 500 quality domain names. Just think what it would cost to build up an inventory of domain names on your own and you see right away how powerful this feature is;

You, and you alone, determine how much you're willing to see one of those domain names for. There are no pre-set prices and no pre-set limits on the number of domain names you can sell;

The entire process couldn't be easier. Visitors to your site click a button to make you an offer, you accept, reject, or negotiate that offer and, if you make a sale, simply transfer the domain to the buyer.

As domains sell, your website is automatically updated with new and fresh domain names.

But are there any drawbacks to this type of setup? Well, the primary downside to the Domain Profits Club setup is that you do need to know how to upload your free website to a hosting account.

However, that's a simple process that can be outsourced. Or, if you want to learn how to do it yourself, the included instructions are easy to follow.

Overall, the Domain Profits Club is a great product, loaded with superior features that can have you up and running with your own business the same day you join. Nearly everything else is done for you.

If you're really interested in becoming a sucessful domain seller, it doesn't get any easier than this to get started.

So, check it out for yourself and you'll see why this is one of the few products that actually delivers on its promises… But don't take my word for it, see for yourself at Domain Profits Club

Personally Identifiable Information does not include information that is collected anonymously (that is, without identification of the individual user) or demographic information not connected to an identified individual.

What Information Do We Collect?

When you visit our Web site you may provide us with two types of information: personal information you knowingly choose to disclose that is collected on an individual basis and/or Web site use information collected on an aggregate basis as you and others browse our Web site.

2. Web Site Use Information

Similar to other commercial Web sites, our Web site utilizes a standard technology called "cookies" (see explanation below, "What Are Cookies?") and Web server logs to collect information about how our Web site is used. Information gathered through cookies and Web server logs may include the date and time of visits, the pages viewed, time spent at our Web site, and the Web sites visited just before and just after our Web site. We, our advertisers and ad serving companies may also use small technology or pieces of code to determine which advertisements and promotions users have seen and how users responded to them.

How Do We Use the Information That You Provide to Us?

Broadly speaking, we use personal information only for purposes of responding to specific inquiries or to provide requested information from Visitors and Authorized Users.

What Are Cookies?

A cookie is a very small text document, which often includes an anonymous unique identifier. When you visit a Web site, that site's computer asks your computer for permission to store this file in a part of your hard drive specifically designated for cookies. Each Web site can send its own cookie to your browser if your browser's preferences allow it, but (to protect your privacy) your browser only permits a Web site to access the cookies it has already sent to you, not the cookies sent to you by other sites. Some of our business partners (e.g., advertisers) use cookies that originate from their sites. We have no access or control over those cookies.

This site uses third-party technology, including but not necessarily limited to the eBay Partner Network's tracking technology. When clicking on certain links, anonymous "cookies" are placed on your computer for the purpose of recognizing returning visitors. You can block cookies by changing the settings on your browser. For example if you use the Firefox browser, go to your top menu bar, click on Tools: Options: Privacy, and then set the cookies parameter appropriately. For Internet Explorer, click on Tools: Internet Options: Privacy.

How Do We Use Information We Collect from Cookies?

As you use our Web site, the site uses its cookies to differentiate you from other users. In some cases, we also use cookies to prevent you from seeing unnecessary advertisements or requiring you to log in more than is necessary for security. Cookies, in conjunction with our Web server's log files, allow us to calculate the aggregate number of people visiting our Web site and which parts of the site are most popular. This helps us gather feedback in order to constantly improve our Web site and better serve our customers. Cookies do not allow us to gather any personal information about you and we do not generally store any personal information that you provided to us in your cookies.

You've probably seen the news stories where someone sold a domain name for millions of dollars. Well, don't get too excited because you most likely won't find one of those anytime soon.

Professional domainers are constantly searching the web to find domain names they can buy and then resell for a profit. They search auctions, expired listings, buy from other owners inventory or use many other methods to locate available domains for sale.

But, what if you're just getting started? Isn't it too late to become a "domainer" now that all of the good names have been taken?

Of Course Not!

Ready to get started right now? Click here for the easiest and fastest way start your own domaining business.

Actually, the market for domain names has become even more lucrative the past few years since having a web presence is almost a necessity for companies and many individuals as well.

Domain names tell the world what your business and website is about and who you are. This can be a huge plus when someone is doing a search and looking for something specific.

Businesses, and many people, prefer their website names to be succinct and to the point. This is where domain name buyers and sellers come in. No two websites can use the exact same domain name. Therefore, everyone looking for a specific website name must first do a search to see if that domain name is available.

Because there's only a limited supply of so-called "good" domain names readily available, it becomes clear that buying and selling domain names could be quite lucrative if done properly.

Typically, the more domain names you own, and are willing to sell, the more money you can make from people who want to buy them. How many people do you know that can afford to buy an inventory of domain names without any assurance that they will even sell?

But, what if there was a way for you to have access to hundreds of premium domain names that you can sell without actually owning any of them? And, what if you were able to keep all of the profits from the domains you sell? And, what if you had a 100% complete package that empowered you to get started selling today?

If you're serious about wanting to market domains, we're about to hand you a little-known revolutionary secret that will allow you to start your own domain business starting from scratch today without investing thousands of dollars in your own portfolio of domains!

WHAT IF you could instantly have your very own portfolio of 500 or more carefully selected domain names that you could sell and keep 100% of the profit? Would that get you excited?
