Sean Ward was invited to return for 2010 as host of the Toronto Independent Music Awards. The ceremony took place on July 23 at the Phoenix Concert Theatre with performances from last year’s winners, featuring a headline performance by The Ruby Spirit (formerly Sadie May Crash)

Fairlie Agency is assisting Hail The Villain with casting their next music video for Runaway.

Auditions: Wed. June 30 at Rune Entertainment – 14 Connell Court, Toronto

Submission Deadline: 3:00pm Tues. June 29.

Shoot: Greenscreen shoot with Asian girls for partial day only. Set for July 5^th. On location shoot will take place at night with all villains and asian girls. Date TBD.

Rate: $350 including agency.

ROLES

Asian Twins / Nurse Assassins: Female / 15-30 yrs. / Japanese / Non-ACTRA. Must be physically fit (able to run).

Villains: Male / 16-24 yrs. / Any Ethnicity / Non-ACTRA. Must be physically fit and able to run as this is for a chase sequence.

Fairlie Agency talent Adam Booth hosts the “All or None” Cabaret Fundraiser – Come on out this Wednesday, June 2nd to Clinton’s Tavern (693 Bloor Street West) at 8pm for a night of music, stand up comedy, and a change to win big in the 50/50 draw! We will be raising money for the 2010 Fringe Festival production “All or None” (Written by Andrew Hanna and Kristoffer Pedlar). Proceeds will go towards rentals, stage design, and promotions. $8 tickets available from cast and crew, or $10 at the door. Come on out and support the arts!

Angela Cullins & American Sunset Screening at Cannes Film Festival

Angela Cullins is off to France to promote her yet-to-be released movie “American Sunset” at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival. American Sunset stars the late Corey Haim in his final on screen performance. “I am deeply saddened that Corey won’t be leading the charge in promoting this, his last film” says Angela.

Though not an official entry at the festival, the movie will be shown to select distributors and critics for promotion ahead of its release in North America and abroad. Movie distributor ID Communications Inc. from Montreal will be showing the film as part of the 2010 CANNES MARKET SCREENING on May 19.

The movie, whose star-studded cast also includes the late Corey Haim and Frank Molina, is a roller coaster ride of a thriller where Haim’s character Tom awakens to find his wife (Cullins) missing. A call from a kidnapper, 6 clues and 24 hours to find her, the game is on to rescue her. Cullins and Haim became close during the shooting of the film and she suggests it was “method-acting”, art imitating life. “Our characters were turning into our reality. We acted the roles in real life. We had something special. And he meant the world to me.” Cullins says she learned a great deal about the business from Haim, and he became her mentor.

“Corey truly was a gifted actor – one of a kind. He was intrigued by me because I was not part of the Hollywood establishment. He was really tired of the scene and wanted to protect me from it,” Cullins said.
Angela wants to keep the spirit of Corey alive by helping promote “American Sunset” and spreading the positive word about Corey. She remembers his “as a loving, dearly talented man, who had finally come out of his darkness, and was beginning to conquer his demons. He was ready for his true potential. And this film was just the beginning.”

Edsson Morales was in New York City for the screening of Patricia Cornwell’s ‘The Front’ at Hearst Tower on April 7, 2010. Cornwell’s Monique Lamont novels have been made into Lifetime Original Movies, starring Andie MacDowell & Daniel Sunjata. Edsson plays the role of Jesus Baptiste in the first film ‘At Risk’ airing on Lifetime April 10.

The Heart and Stroke Foundation is excited to bring the Heart Truth Fashion Gala to life once again in New Brunswick on March 27, 2010, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Fredericton starting at 8:00pm. The runway will feature twenty of New Brunswick’s most dynamic and celebrated women. Each dress created will be designed by alumni from the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design, and will be as unique as the woman who wears it! Jessica Holmes, a favorite on CBC’s Royal Canadian Air Farce, will be hosting and modeling at this year’s event!

“I had no idea, when I was approached last fall, to take part in The Heart Truth Fashion Show, how near and dear to my heart this event would become”, Angela states. “With the recent loss of Corey (Angela’s co star, in the soon to be released film American Sunset), and knowing how much he had struggled with his heart condition, I feel an even greater purpose now for my participation in this event.”

Angela Cullins’ expression of sympathy.

March 15, 2010, Moncton NB – In respect to inquiries on whether Angela Cullins will be attending Corey Haim’s funeral in Toronto, Angela sends her heartfelt sympathy, but will not be attending the service.

Angela Cullins was very close with Corey Haim and was his leading lady in his soon to be released final feature film, American Sunset.

“It would mean the world to me to be at Corey’s funeral, but due to the need for privacy, the family has decided to make it a small affair. I have been in touch with Corey’s mom, Julia, and she knows that my heart is with her.”

Angela Cullins has been asked to take part in Corey Haim’s memorial within the next month, and is honoured that she will be continuing to celebrate his legacy along with family, friends, fans, and the rest of the Hollywood community.

Haim died on March 10 at the age of 38.
