MYTH BUSTER: Cutting speed

Fairy Cut is one of the fastest software for cutting files with a Cricut™ cutter. But for us quality is more important than speed this is why Fairy Cut is the only software for Cricut™ to offer the OFFSET option.

The OFFSET is the distance from the point at which a blade cuts to the point about which it rotates. The offset is a must have feature if you want get cutting quality. Without compensation a drag knife cannot cut sharp corners corners. So Fairy Cut is the only software that can cut sharp corners.

To get this high quality Fairy Cut use use routine to process the knife on a path which compensates for the blade offset. The only draw back for achieving quality is the lost of speed.

But if you think that, the cutting speed is more important than quality, you will have to disable the OFFSET which is a default option in Fairy Cut. To disable the OFFSET option, you only have to enter (zero) on KNIFE OFFSET SCREEN.

CUTTING SPEED COMPARISON - TEST MADE WITH A Cricut Expression™
Test made by Julie Flanagan from scrap-savvy.com
File use for the test: scallop.wpc

FAIRY CUT: Cut the file in 38 - *(Offset - 0)

MAKE THE CUT: Cut the file in 36 seconds

SURE CUT A LOT: Cut the file in 50 seconds - (File in SVG format)

Fairy Cut cutting speed is quite the same compared to other softwares, but it,s the only software to offer cutting quality. Even better, we are working hard to find better way to improve the cutting process and speed. But, for Fairy Cut software quality will always be more important than speed!

We would like to have your comment on this question did cutting speed really matter to you? Should we keep the offset feature set by default?
