My mother recently sold our childhood home and I’m not sure how I feel about it. I mean, I know since dad died she’s felt like it was too big to manage all on her own but at the same time she’s lived there for over 40 years and I know she’s going to be really sad to let it go. On that same note, my brothers and I are also going to be really, really sad to let it go! I just wish there was more for me to do to change her mind but I know it will be nice for her in the new condo. I should say condos, because she’s using the money from the house sale to buy two top-floor condos in a hotel downtown and she’s going to tear down the wall between and just turn them into one huge place. I can’t believe it’s even possible or that she’d want to live somewhere so urban but I told her I was going to help any way I could. So far I’ve called the movers to set up an appointment and I also went to electriccompaniesindallas.com/ to get her new electricity all hooked up so when she moved in she’ll have power. She’s still debating on whether or not she wants cable but at the end of the day I know it’s going to be nice for her not to have to do yardwork or worry every time the pond floods. I guess this is better than the alternative which was that she move in with my aunt down in Florida. Advent Meditation Can Be Done Through Prayers

Today's time is very much different from before. Many years ago, a lot of people were quite religious. Although there are still very religious persons nowadays, the number have greatly decreased. Even advent seems to have a different meaning now and most individuals are looking forward to it because they just want to have a vacation.

When does advent begin? If you have no idea whatsoever, advent starts four weeks prior to Christmas. This is also known as the season or time of preparation for the birth of the lord Jesus Christ.

Personal agendas and family schedules are filled with programs, meetings, annual obligations, and parties. What they often forget is the time of advent. This is the best time to meditate as a family so that their bond will become stronger.

This is definitely the time to be close to one another, especially as a family. Most of all, every individual must have time for God. How can individuals achieve real peace and quiet in God's presence when all they think about are car-pooling or manic shopping, instead of contemplation and meditation?

You should lower your sight to time spent on lengthy litanies or readings and around the hearths. Between parking lots crash and traffic jams, and decking your halls and scribbling notes. There may be enough time, perhaps five to ten minutes, when your family can sit around the advent wreath quietly. You can do this once every day or once a week; or if you're really that busy, you can do this at least once during the time of preparation.

The family can prepare a simple yet special recipe for them to eat together as they light their advent candles. You can meditate or pray briefly and afterwards, enjoy your feast. This activity can bring the family closer together, and much closer to mysteries people celebrate and contemplate in Advent. Advent is not about vacation and parties; it's about being closer to God and your family.

On the first advent week, chapter 13 verses 33 of Mark is the gospel. Jesus told his disciples to watch constantly and stay awake because no one knows when He is coming. Usually the prayers or advent meditations for this week has something to do with the gospel, and this is the same with the second, third, and fourth week of the advent. The second week's gospel is about John the Baptist when he first appeared and preached in Judea. The third week is about Jesus and John's disciples, and the fourth is about Mary and angel Gabriel.

It's not hard to find copies of prayers used during advent. You can see religious aythorities and request copies of it, or you can also obtain a copy online. With a little research, you can get a copy of a simple yet meaningful prayer that your family can utter when you're meditating.

Meditation is not all about proper posture and positions used when a person meditates, a simple prayer is already considered a meditation if you've focused your mind to it as well as your heart. Don’t forget to meditate this advent season.

I’m trying to impress upon my kids how important it is that we give back to the environment. Their generation, unfortunately, doesn’t place a lot of value on making sure they’re taking care of the planet and since I’m from the hippy era, I do! I want them to know that once they buy their own homes they need to recycle and conserve water and try not to waste energy. I’ve been sitting with my older daughter showing her the ropes on www.ElectricCompaniesTexas.net because there’s a lot of information out there about different energy providers’ stances on solar energy. My thought is, if you can make some of your own energy with solar panels, why not? It’s nice for me to feel like I’m giving them something by teaching them these life lessons they need to know. I can’t believe they’re both almost old enough to move out on their own but I want them to be responsible citizens of the earth and I want them to know that they have a responsibility to give back! The last thing I want them to become is gas guzzling, consumer-driven people. I think there are already far too many of those in this world and that the rest of us have to pick up their slack. The earth is a fragile thing and I strongly believe we have a responsibility to take care of it while we’re here. What if we didn’t…isn’t that like stealing from our descendants? My kids have great heads on their shoulders and I know they’ll always do the right thing. I just want to make sure I’m equipping them with the lessons they need to hear to figure out which decisions to make when they’re adults. When they’re paying their own electric bills and buying their own gas they may have different feelings about using so much electricity, I tell you what! Right now they’re kids, though, and these are life lessons.

Thankfully for me I never have to start my own business from the ground up which I always thought would be a really scary thing to have to do. My dad has an issue store since I was just a little boy and when he passed away last year it only seems natural that I would take the reins. I've actually really enjoy being the boss and though there are some days when I wonder why I got myself into this I feel like I'm doing good things for the company and it’s doing good things for me. All thoughts, which have been given feeling and mixed with faith, begin immediately to translate themselves into their physical counterpart. The emotions or the feeling portions of thoughts are the factors, which give thoughts vitality, life and action.

There are millions of people who lack faith in them; these people believe that they are doomed to poverty and failure because of some strange force over which they have no control. These people are prey to their own misfortunes because of this negative belief, which picked up by the subconscious mind, translates into its physical equivalent.

Any order given to the subconscious mind with belief, or faith will be met with success. One should practice how to give the subconscious an order mixed with faith. Perfection will come through practice. It cannot come by simply reading instructions The values of faith are endless; faith is the elixir, which gives life, power and action to the impulse of thought. Riches begin in the form of thought! The amount is limited only by the person in whose mind in whose mind the thought is put into motion. Faith removes limitations!

Remember this when you are ready to bargain with life for whatever it is that you ask as your price for having passed this way.

Friendship for many, to include scholarly individuals, is actually some sort of an informal category without specific limitations or boundaries. Like when you say a person is a friend, you do not say that he is your friend in school, or he is your friend in the office or a friend in any category of undertaking. Even in work, the ties of friendship a person has with his co-employees in an office work will be different from the ties of friendship between soldiers. In most cases, the degree of dependency among one another in a particular undertaking, would measure the degree of friendship among them.

Friendship for that matter takes on many forms like casual friends whom you may consider already as friends even when you have just meet them once, twice or thrice in a gathering, long time friends, people you have known since you were young like your neighbors, and best friends like your close in barkadas or groups that you are always with and shares with you whatever they have and you, whatever you have, in return. These sharing between best of friends are not only limited to material things but also would include spiritual and emotional sharing like keeping and advising your friends in keeping up with their faith and other emotional problems that they have. These sharing of all aspects of your daily life, sometimes you use friendship sms text messages, lovely friendship sms that will cause to deepen the friendship between your groups of friends.

There are, however, a lot of people who uses friendship as a tool for self advantage. The sad thing about these kinds of people would be the fact that once they have gained their purpose because of the friendship that they were able to establish they just as suddenly junk the friends that helped them in the first place. These people are those that can be considered as friendship for advantage gals and guys. There are also those who will only make friends with people who share with them their passion. These people are those that we can categorize as people who look for selective friendship. People in this category can be persons who are into different hobbies or undertakings that they value so much that once they know you have the same kind of aspiration would then try to consider you as a friend in such kind of an undertaking. For example, a person with a passion for horses can easily make friends with a person in the horse breeding business. And if you are a SCUBA enthusiast, you can make friends easily with an underwater photographer once you chanced to meet each other.

These kinds of friendship actually, are not only related to hobbies like playing with your mobile phone, sending sms messages, sharing love text and other special skills that a person has to make friends with other persons sharing with him interest in the same field of endeavor. I googled Satellite TV Family as I need to research some new tv options. I really need some cooking help! When I want to have a date come over for dinner, I have to cook the same thing since it's the only thing I've mastered. Chicken parm! Some of the cooking shows are pretty helpful. Some I watch for entertainment purposes, only. Paula Deen is hilarious. That woman loves life, doesn't she!? She is too great. And everything she makes requires a a whole stick of butter! I think I'd have a heart attack if I ate her food all the time! I tried to make one of Giada's recipes once, and oh was it a disaster! It was supposed to be a filet mignon with goat cheese and a balsamic reduction. It looked like elmers' glue was smeared across the meat. It tasted decent at least. My only issue with Giada is that she can be a little pretentious. You know what I mean. It's like, just say "spaghetti" like a normal person!

We are re-discovering that everything in our universe has energy, consciousness, vibration and a power of its own, something the ancients have always known.

My father is getting older and he’s no longer able to manage things on his own like he once was. It’s strange that I am at the point in my life where I’m going to begin caring for my father, who has always been my caregiver. My father still works part-time, but I can tell that his age is really starting to affect his energy as well as the way he thinks and processes things. I’ve begun to start helping him around the house, cleaning, grocery shopping and cooking when I have the time. I know that my dad is having a hard time letting go of some of his responsibilities. He’s having an even harder time letting me take them over. I’ve discovered that if I make everything out like he’s going to get a deal if I do it, it comes off a little easier. For example, when I took over grocery shopping, I convinced him that I had a really great couponing method that I wanted to try. Parents are odd creatures, especially when they retire. Both of mine worked for a large automotive company all their lives and they retired at the same time leaving me with two very nosy, very bored 70 year old people on my hands. I like watching Oprah on http://www.bestchoicetv.com. What I like about Oprah is that she talks about subjects for the purpose of bettering peoples lives. She is not like a lot of talk shows that are dirty and distasteful. For example the one of the shows was about her and her friend Gayle going camping. I laughed out loud. It made my day to see these two grown city girls camp out. Oprah also has a lot of great guests. Dr. Phil and Dr. Oz both started their T.V. careers on her show. She talks frequently about spiritual matters in life. I don't always ! agree with her 100% or take what she says as gospel but I do believe she is causing people to think and feel deeper then our culture typically encourages. She blesses peoples lives. There was the one big show where she gave the whole audience each a car. That is unimaginable and she did it. There was also the show where she traveled to Africa and blessed the lives of the children there. It inspired me to do more, think bigger and feel deeper. Now that she is no longer producing the Oprah show it is a little sad but it was a great run of 25 years.
