New Testament Review

Review: Matthew-Revelation

Ask your child:

• Who is Jesus? Jesus is God in human flesh.
• How can people be saved? We must trust in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus as our only hope of heaven.
• What mission did Jesus give His church? To share the gospel with others.
• What future awaits Christ’s followers? They will spend eternity in His presence.

Emphasize this principle: God offers new life through his Son. Therefore, we should follow Jesus and share him with others.

Practice: 

• Embrace Jesus as Lord.
• Encourage others to trust in Jesus.

Praise: “Victory in Jesus”

Prepare for next week: Genesis 1-2

God Creates a New Heaven and a New Earth

Ask your child:

• What will the new heavens and new earth be like? This new creation will be a place of indescribable beauty that is free from the marks of sin and evil.
• Why are Jesus’ return and the new creation encouraging to believers? When Christ returns, His followers will dwell eternally with Him in the new creation.

Emphasize this principle: God promises a glorious future for his children. Therefore, we should repent and live for that day.

Practice: 

• Live for the glory of God.
• Rejoice while waiting for Christ’s return.

Praise: “Shout to the Lord”

God Will Judge at the Great White Throne

Ask your child:

• What will happen to Satan and his followers? They will be defeated and cast into the lake of fire.
• What will happen to those whose names are not found in the book of life? They will be judged at the Great White Throne and cast into the lake of fire.

Emphasize this principle: God judges sin and rewards faith. Therefore, we should follow Christ and share him with others.

Practice: 

• Escape God’s judgment by believing in Christ and repenting of sin.
• Eagerly share the gospel with others who are not saved.

Praise: “Holy Lord”

Ask your child:

• How did God show that He wanted Gentiles to be saved? God gave Peter a vision which revealed that He had eliminated the distinctions between Jews and Gentiles, making the gospel available to all people.
• What happened when Peter preached in Cornelius’s home? The Holy Spirit fell upon the Gentile believers.

Emphasize this principle: God offers salvation to all people. Therefore, we should believe and proclaim the truth to others.

Practice: 

• Rejoice that God has chosen to save both Jews and Gentiles.
• Share the gospel with those around you.

Praise: “Change My Heart, O God”

• What happened to Saul on the road to Damascus? Saul was blinded by a light from heaven. Jesus spoke to him, and Saul placed his faith in Christ.
• How did Saul demonstrate his faith in Jesus? Saul proclaimed Christ and urged others to follow Him.

Emphasize this principle: God can transform anyone’s life. Therefore, we should repent and seek to be used by Him.

Practice: 

• Ask the Lord to use you in His service.
• Proclaim Jesus to others regardless of the cost.

Praise: “Come, Let Us Worship and Bow Down”
