Saul is Converted on the Road to Damascus

Read: Acts 9:1-31

Ask your child:

• What happened to Saul on the road to Damascus? Saul was blinded by a light from heaven. Jesus spoke to him, and Saul placed his faith in Christ.
• How did Saul demonstrate his faith in Jesus? Saul proclaimed Christ and urged others to follow Him.

Emphasize this principle: God can transform anyone’s life. Therefore, we should repent and seek to be used by Him.

Practice: 

• Ask the Lord to use you in His service.
• Proclaim Jesus to others regardless of the cost.

Praise: “Come, Let Us Worship and Bow Down”

Prepare for next week: Acts 10:1-11:18

• How was Jesus’ name exalted in this passage? Miracles were performed in Jesus’ name. Peter proclaimed that there is no other name under heaven by which people can be saved.
• How did God answer the believer’s prayer? The believers were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the Word with boldness.

Emphasize this principle: There is power in Jesus’ name. Therefore, we should believe in Him and represent Him to others.

Practice: 

• Praise God for providing salvation through Jesus Christ.
• Proclaim salvation in Jesus’ name with boldness.

Praise: “Come, Let Us Worship and Bow Down”

Jesus Ascends and the Holy Spirit Arrives

Read: Acts 1:1-11; 2:1-47

Ask your child:

• What was God’s plan for the spread of the gospel? The disciples would be His witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the uttermost parts of the earth (Acts 1:8)
• What happened on the day of Pentecost? The Holy Spirit indwelt Christ’s followers and enabled them to speak in languages understood by foreign peoples. Peter proclaimed the gospel. 3000 believed and were baptized.
• What characterized the lives of early Christians? They cared for the needs of fellow believers.

Emphasize this principle: God has given us a mission. Therefore, we should tell others about Jesus.

Practice: 

• Proclaim the gospel to others.
• Share with believers in need.

Praise: “Seek Ye First”

• Why was the death of Jesus important? Through His death, Jesus made full payment for the sins of humanity.
• Why was the resurrection of Christ important? Jesus’ resurrection proved that He had defeated sin and death.

Emphasize this principle: Jesus died for our sins and rose from the dead. Therefore, we should rejoice and embrace Him as Lord.

Practice: 

• Praise God for Christ’s sacrifice.
• Follow Jesus as Lord.

Praise: “How Great Thou Art”

Prepare for next week: Acts 1:1-11; 2:1-47

• What were the people doing as Jesus entered Jerusalem? Choosing their pass over lamb.
• Why did people celebrate Jesus’ entry into the city? Many believed He would deliver them from Roman rule.
• From what did Jesus plan to deliver people?

Emphasize this principle: Jesus is our Passover Lamb. Therefore, we should choose to follow Him.

Practice: 

• Embrace Jesus as the One who can deliver you from sin.
• Choose to follow Jesus by obeying His Word.

Praise: “Majesty”
