Der Aufgabenbereich umfasst die Durchführung von Programmierarbeiten zur Unterstützung unserer Forschung in den folgenden Bereichen (BetreuerIn der Arbeit in Klammern):

  • Analyse der Auswirkungen von Änderungen im Source Code auf das Verhalten von Software Systemen (Thomas Grassauer, Martin Pinzger)
  • Visualisierung von Source Code und Änderungen im Source Code (Thomas Grassauer, Martin Pinzger)

WICHTIG:
Die Stelle bietet eine hervorragende Möglichkeit zur Durchführung eines Software Praktikums, eines Projektsemesters und besonders einer Diplomarbeit in unserer Forschungsgruppe. Voraussetzungen für eine Einstellung sind:

  • sehr gute Programmierkenntnisse bevorzugt in Java oder JavaScript oder Python
  • erfolgreich abgeschlossene Software Engineering 1 und 2 Vorlesungen und Praktika
  • Vorkenntnisse in einem der Aufgabenbereiche sind ein plus

The Software Engineering Research Group (SERG) at TEWI (Technical Sciences) offers the chance to conduct a practicum (Softwarepraktikum) starting in the winter term 2014 (Wintersemester 2014).
The main goal of this assignment is to reengineer our existing source code visualization tool DA4Java to use a new, open source graphic library. DA4Java is an Eclipse plug-in implemented in Java that uses Hibernate to access the database and a commercial graph library to visualize the graphs. For the new version of DA4Java, we plan to use an open source graph library, e.g., JGraph. As another option, we are also open for a complete re-implementation of the tool using new technologies for storing and visualizing graphs, such as neo4j and/or d3js. Furthermore, we are also open for new features and improvements of DA4Java.
SERG offers students a very good opportunity to get in touch with an internationally renowned research group in the area of software engineering.
The practicum is considered for 2 to 3 motivated computer science students. Candidates need to have a strong background in Java programming and should be knowledgeable in implementing Eclipse plug-ins.

The econob – Informationsdienstleistungs GmbH offers the chance to conduct a practicum (Softwarepraktikum) in Applied Computer Science starting in the summer term 2014 (Sommersemester 2014).

The goal of this practicum is to identify appropriate software QA metrics and introduce these in the econob software QA process. Systems, frameworks, and components currently used (e.g. Sonar, Checkstyle, PMD) are to be reviewed and cross-checked with best practices. Ideally, the outputs of the practicum are a set of metrics and corresponding tools/scripts added to the current infrastructure at econob. Starting with an initial workshop, the focus and major concerns of the practicum are defined together.

econob is an innovative high-tech company that provides tools and online services for natural language processing and big data analysis in domains such as finance, social media analysis and medicine.
The practicum is considered for 2 to 3 motivated computer science students. Programming skills and rudimentary knowledge about software development processes are required. Knowledge of quality assurance tools and platforms, such as Sonar, Checkstyle, PMD, is a plus.

The goal of this practicum is to analyze a particular econob project to identify QA and maintenance hot-spots. Systems, frameworks, components currently used (e.g. Sonar, Checkstyle, PMD) are to be reviewed and cross-checked with best practices. Therefore, the outputs of the current build process are evaluated and checked using statistical methods plus visualizations. Ideally, the output of the practicum reveals a set of validated hot-spots in the given project. Starting with an initial workshop, the focus and major concerns of the practicum are defined together.
