Big Mac Attack

I recently ~~boasted~~ lamented that I could eat a Big Mac in six bites. The truth is, I've never actually counted how many bites it takes me to finish the sandwich.

So I decided to find out.

Well, it's less than six bites. And that was with very little effort.

Who knows -- maybe if I pushed myself I could finish a Big Mac in one bite.

One afternoon, Darwin climbed up into his highchair and buckled himself into his seat. Then he started chanting, "I want ice cream soup!" (Don't ask me why he calls it "soup.")

When I walked over to his seat, I noticed he had already gotten the ice cream out of the freezer and set it on the island countertop.

How thoughtful of him.

Guess we should make it a rule to actually put your hands under the water, too.

Oh Christmas Tree

I love the smell of pine that fills the house when you have a live Christmas tree. Though, sometimes it has it's drawbacks.

Like when a trillion tiny spiders hitch a ride into your house with the tree.

Treasure Hunters

We took advantage of the ~~unseasonably~~ ~~unbelievably~~ absurdly warm weather and went with some friends on our first geocaching hike. Geocaching is something I've been meaning to do with the kids for awhile now. We finally got around to it and the experience did not disappoint. It was a true adventure for the kids with a real payoff. They loved it -- you would have thought they had just struck upon some long lost loot left behind by John Dillinger himself.

I am now 35 years old.

I weigh 185 pounds.

I cannot run 5 miles without stopping.

I can eat a Big Mac in 6 bites.

I cannot do 20 push-ups.

I can take a nap any time, any place.

I cannot carry my kids up to bed without panting.

I can collect ludicrous amounts of lint in my bellybutton.

That all changes this year.

Except the nap part. I love naps.

Oh, and it will all be made more dramatic by taking ostentatious self portraits.

The flight home, even with a delay at the gate, was smooth and pleasant. The kids knew what to expect and exceeded expectations the whole way.
